Hiccup looked around his room before noticing Astrid and his father looking down at him with a worried on their faces. "What... what happened?" Hiccup got up from his bead and rubbed the back of his head which felt like he had been hit with a large rock. "There was a small earthquake and part of the great hall collapsed. You got caught underneath it along with Toothless and we spent the better part of the day getting you out." Astrid spoke and looked smug while Stoic looked down at his son with relief. "Take it easy son and when your better come up to the great hall... there's something you might want to see."
With that the two left and Hiccup sat in his bed looking at Toothless and patting the back of his head. Than after fifteen minutes Hiccup got up and with some help from Toothless they managed to get to the Great Hall. A few vikings waved to Hiccup who waved back before walking on in while Toothless stayed outside with the other dragons. Right away upon entering Hiccup could see some rocks that had fallen down still on the ground but a rope lead up to the unearthed cavern above them.
Looking up he could see his father taking with some other vikings and the rest of the teens were up there as well. With a small groan Hiccup went up to the rope and started to try and pull himself up until he finally got all the way. Stoic looked back at his son for a moment before moving to the side along with the other teens who were quiet. Even Snotloud stayed quiet as he glanced over at what Hiccup could obviously tell was a pile of bones before finally realizing what they were.
One was of a teen obviously sitting next to what looked like a dragon, but not any dragon though. No the bones of the dragon next to him were that of a Night Fury and the two seemed to be sleeping together. "We found these upon getting up here to expect the damage that was done. Seems like we found another rider if the saddle of the bones is anything to go by. But what really get's me is the rider wearing Viking and Roman clothing much like those deserters from long ago." Gobber spoke and looked at the bones while Hiccup noticed the bag on the back of the skeleton and moved over to inspect it.
"Not that long before you were born Hiccup a group of... outcasts from the Romans arrived at Berk seeking a place to live. I didn't grant any of them asylum, but their youngest kid who was raised as a viking was left behind for they didn't want to take him any more. In a way he reminds me of you, being all scrawny but had a thing to learn about dragons. He disappeared after a while and was not scene or heard from again, and now we know why." Stoic went up and patted Hiccup on the should who looked at the skeleton while holding a book now that he had gotten from the bag on the skeleton. The other teens all left and Hiccup looked at the skeleton one more time before leaving while still holding the book he had taken.
Outside the other dragons stood in shock looking at Toothless who had just told him about his older brother. ="He dead now, but before he died he told me of a friend, human friend he had made while out one day. Than right before he disappeared or died he told me that he considered the human to be a brother."= Meatlug looked shocked, Stormfly looked sad, Barf and Belch looked away, while Hookfang just looked down right upset. It was at this point that Hiccup had come out of the Great Hall along with his friends and they all left to deal with certain things. Upon getting back to the hut though Hiccup went up to his room and Toothless laid down on the roof.
After a few moments of moving his writing tool around and looking at the journal Hiccup finally broke and opened it up. Right away he noticed that it was like the dragon manual, but most of the writing appeared to of been lost. But he could make out a few things that he had discovered himself about the dragons. Than he came upon one page in particular that he stopped to stair at and soon he was reading it. "It is to my belief that their could exist a hybrid between Viking and dragon somewhere in this world. The could be any combination, and would be able to understand the dragons like anyone else would in a normal conversation."
"My hope is that one day the people of Berk would be able to live in piece with the dragons and that this would all come true in my lifetime. Unfortunately I write this using the last of my strength so if one day this is found please bury me with my trusted friend that I consider a brother. My name is Atlas and I'm a roman turned Viking apparently, and my companion is Knighter a Night Fury." Hiccup put down the journal at that point and looked at it with shock for he had never thought of such a thing and the fact that this person considered a dragon to be his brother.
Toothless at this time was poking his head in threw the window in the roof of the hut looking at Hiccup before noticing the badly damaged journal. Upon seeing it though he got curious and hopped down in to look at it, and thanks to being with Hiccup could read. This writing hit him and he had to look at Hiccup surprised as well before leaning over and muzzling Hiccup. Hiccup at first jumped a little for he wasn't expecting this before finally getting over it and rubbing Toothless' head for him.
This calmed the dragon down and due to it being so late though the two went bed just as Stoic entered the hut. Stoic at this moment looked sad for he knew who the skeleton was and the kid had actually been a great help to the village. A quick look at Hiccup though and Stoic got over it before doing his best to make plans to get rid of the bones in a Viking manner. As the sun set on that long day a mist seemed to come threw the village and a shimmer of light was barley noticed by anyone. If anyone had noticed it though they would thought it looked like a teen on a Night Fury flying at high speeds before vanishing.
Well people this is the actual end of the story unfortunately. Sorry if you wanted more, but I have other stories to attend to, but I hope to one day edit some of this stuff and rewrite it to be more interesting. Though I bet none of you expected Atlas to be dead throughout this whole Story along with Knight right? It was all in Hiccups head and it was a very good plot twist if you ask me. Now if anyone wants to... just go ahead and make your own version of this I don't really care that much. But it would be nice if you told me about it so I can review it, and who knows what may happen.
Now though the story comes to an end, but ever end is a new beginning also I may stop writing for a while. I have been working on some more stories and two of them are fiction, not FanFiction. I won't go into any details but I will tell you that it's some of my best work yet and I hope to one day become an author. So with this I hope you have a great day and hopefully I can work on some other things.
