Chapter 14

Extreme Measures

The city was New York. The only problem was, there were aliens everywhere. Thor flew us straight to Stark tower. It wasn't the prettiest building. That was where Loki was. Thor set me down.

"LOKI!"

He turned and looked at Thor.

"Loki stop this!" I begged.

"Turn off the tesseract or I'll destroy it!" Thor threatened.

"You can't! It's too late, there is only the war!"

"So be it!"

He jumped at Thor, pushing me back as he did. They started fighting and I fired arrows at the aliens. Finally Thor got hold of Loki.

"Look at this! Look around you! Do you think this madness will end with your rule?"

"It's too late. It's too late to stop it."

"Not if we fight together."

The sun caught onto something and I ran forward.

"Loki no!"

He stabbed Thor and then jumped off the edge of the building. I knelt down.

"Thor?"

"I have to stop him."

I nodded and he took off. I decided it would be best to help lessen the number of aliens so I took to the rooftops and started shooting. I saw Stark and the others down below.

"STARK!"

He looked up and I jumped off the building. It was Steve who jumped up and caught me.

"Thank you."

He put me down and I ran off. I kept shooting until I had only one arrow left. I saw a man aiming at Loki. He fired the arrow and I shot another arrow. It hit his and I glared at him. He aimed his bow at me and I aimed back at him.

"Don't shoot! Or I'll kill you before your arrow hits me!" I shouted.

"If you're working with Loki I'll kill you regardless!"

"I'm not working with him! I'm trying to help stop him!"

As a sign of good faith I lowered my arrow. He did the same and I jumped onto a hover and rode up to him.

"I'm Aurora Porter. I love Loki but he must be stopped. And it is because I love him that I cannot let you kill him. I know who Loki really is, and this isn't him."

He held out his hand.

"Agent Barton of S.H.I.E.L.D."

I closed my eyes and sighed. I shook his hand though.

"I know who you are. I'm so sorry for what he did to you."

"It's not your fault."

"No it is. I should have never let him leave then maybe none of this would be happening. But please Agent Barton…..don't kill him. He's all I have left. I'll do anything to keep him alive so please….spare him and I'll make sure he gets a good and proper beating."

He smirked.

"Fine, but you owe me one."

I smiled and nodded. Together we started to fire at the aliens. However Barton was running out of arrows and so was I. I looked back at Stark Tower and knew there had to be a way to stop the cube. I looked at Barton.

"Go!"

I nodded in thanks and then jumped and climbed as fast as I could. When I finally got there I looked up and saw a machine with a strange glowing blue cube inside. Lying nearby was Loki's scepter. I picked it up.

"If this is the only way to get you back, so be it."

I climbed to the very top of the tower. Once there I held up the scepter.

"LOKI!"

Loki's POV

I heard her call for me. I flew up near her. She held my scepter in her delicate hands.

"Aurora….."

"YOU'VE BECOME A MONSTER! IF THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET YOU BACK SO BE IT!"

She pointed the blade at her heart and my eyes went wide.

"AURORA NO!"

"THEN STOP THIS! FIGHT WITH ME TO END IT!"

I knew if I didn't fight with her she would never forgive me.
