Chapter 14

Dick's P.O.V.

Star and I handed Slade off and finished everything else we had to do up pretty quickly. Once we were done we headed back to the Tower to see how Beast Boy was doing. I didn't want to think about what would happen to Danny if anything happened to his boyfriend. I was broken from my thoughts by Star, she was riding with me on the bike.

"Do you think Beast Boy will be okay." She asked.

"I'm sure Star. Cyborg will be able to cure him." I said confidently, though I was hiding what I was really feeling. What if the stuff Slade ejected into Beast Boy couldn't be cured or there is a cure but it involves one of them to become his assistant like I did. We were quiet the rest of the way to the Tower and when we were in the infirmary a sad sight met our eyes. Beast Boy was lying on the bed with an oxygen mask covering his mouth and nose. He was looking pale and his eyes were open, like he couldn't afford to go to sleep though he was exhausted. Raven was next to him holding his hand lightly and Cyborg was at the computer but there was no sign of my brother.

"Where's Danny?" I asked. They all looked over at me, Cyborg and Raven sadly.

"The stuff that Slade injected into BB is from the Ghost Zone. I can't cure it, it's deadly to Beast Boy. I'm doing everything I can to keep him from falling asleep to figuring out what this stuff will do to him." Cyborg said. I paled and Starfire stepped forward.

"Where is Danny?" she asked.

"He went to the Ghost Zone to find the cure." Raven said.

"Damnit!" I cursed pulling out my communicator and turning to leave but before I could Raven grabbed.

"He specifically said to not follow him. We don't know this Ghost Zone, we could get lost or get into more trouble. Danny knows his way around." She said.

"But he should have brought someone with him, what if he runs into that warden guy?" I asked.

"I believe in this we should just follow Danny's wishes, we need to focus on Beast Boy while Danny fetches the cure." Star said. I looked around the room before my eyes landed on Beast Boy, I couldn't help it. He looked like hell, so I sat down next to him and rest my head on my knees which I brought up. We had no choice but to wait.

Danny's P.O.V.

I always loved flying at my top speed. But this time it was for urgency and not for enjoyment. I told myself after being reunited with my brother that I would never go back to Amity Park. But here I am flying back, on an urgent mission to the Ghost Zone. I could kill Slade for doing this to us. I didn't have a lot of time; maybe 72 hours to get there find the cure and get back to Titans Tower before BB fell into a coma. I couldn't deal with it, not after everything I have already been through.

Before I know it I was flying for about 10 hours and was just outside Amity. The city looked just like how I left it, expect Nasty Burger wasn't there anymore and in place of the restaurant was a memorial to those who died months earlier. I quickly looked away and flew straight to the building that used to be my home. It looked really rundown, the sign was hanging half way off the pole it is on, the windows were clouded over and dusty and the observation deck was no longer there. I didn't really care; the Guys in White probably took it for research stuff. I phased through the building and everything was just how we left it the morning that the explosion happened.

"I can't believe I'm back here. I can't believe no one has been in here." I whispered to myself as I went through the floor to the basement. What was more, I couldn't believe that the core for the Portal hadn't exploded yet. I found the reason, it was deactivated. Sighing, I turned it back on and waited for it to boot up. It didn't take all that long but I was in a hurry. Finally, after about ten minutes it was back on and I went straight through the portal and into the familiar Ghost Zone. With a destination in mind I went straight to Clock Work's Tower. Everything was silent, it was like the Ghost Zone but it was creepier than usual. I didn't look through any of the doors and went straight to Clock Work's Tower.

The tower loomed ahead working as usual and when I got inside I sighed in relief. I landed in the room where we usually talk and there on the self was the Fenton Thermos that held my evil older self in it.

"I thought I would be seeing you again." A voice behind me said. I sighed and turned to come face to face with Clock Work.

"So you know why I am here?" I asked.

"I do, and I do happen to have what you seek. I actually fetched it from the Yeti's before you arrived." Clock Work said. I quirked my eyebrow at him.

"No catch?" I asked.

"You helped the whole of both our world and the world of the living. See this as my thanks for all you've done for us." He said.

"You'll still keep him?" I asked tilting my head to the container. Clock Work chuckled and nodded.

"He is locked tight and will not be coming out anytime soon. Now get this back to your lover. Here in a short while you two will be extremely busy, and not just with being heroes." Clock Work said handing me a vial of blue liquid. I took it and it was cold to the touch. "Now when you go back out, disable the portal between our two worlds in Amity Park. Let us make sure that nothing like what has happened in the past will happen again." Clock Work said. I nodded and started to leave but stopped.

"What do you mean BB and I will be busy?" I asked.

"Go, you will know soon enough." he said. I shrugged and took off again as fast as I could through the Zone and back into my world. Once I did, I shut down the Portal and destroyed it and headed home.

As I was flying I pulled out my communicator, I was invisible but I didn't bother whispering as I was flying through the sky.

"Danny to Titans." I said. The com beeped and Dick's face came onto the scream.

"Did you get it?" he asked.

"I did, I am on my way back now. Should be back by daybreak or sooner." I said.

"Danny, it's almost 9 o'clock now." Dick said worriedly.

"Right now, I don't care; I'll sleep once I am sure that BB is out of the woods." I said. Dick nodded and looked at me.

"You are invisible, aren't you?" he asked. I laughed and nodded and he smiled.

"I thought so, your kind of see through on the communicator." He said.

"Don't worry; I'll be back before you know it." I said. "How is he?"

"He's getting worse; right now we're still trying to get him to stay awake."

"I was afraid of that. Hold on, I'm coming." I said. I hung up and put on even more speed and raced through the night sky.

It didn't take too long as I was already nearing the ocean by the time the sun began to rise. I saw Titan's Tower in the distance and just put on more speed and I phased my way through buildings and into the Tower and down into the medical bay.

Dick was right BB did look bad, his normal bright green skin was so pale and his eyes were droopy. I became visible and everyone turned to me. Cyborg rushed forward grabbed the vial full of bright blue liquid and I transformed back and sagged into a chair next to BB's bed and grabbed his hand and kissed it.

"Was there any trouble?" Dick asked.

"No, which was strange, but I am grateful. And they couldn't follow me, I destroyed the portal." I said. Cyborg filled a syringe and came over to BB and stuck him in the crook of his elbow. He emptied the contents and BB side in relief and fell asleep.

"What now?" he asked.

"We wait it's okay for him to go to sleep with the antidote in his system." I said. Everyone sighed in relief and collapsed into chairs around the room.

"You should get some sleep Danny." Dick said.

"Don't worry I plan on it, just right here." I said laying my head down and going to sleep rather quickly on BB's other arm.
