Chapter 14

A small smile grew on Tink's face, suddenly knowing where Ruby was going with this.

"It should, all of us here are magical in some way. The rules of the game are binding. Though when these rules were made I doubt this is what they had in mind. Unfortunately for us, it does apply." Ruby waves her hand dismissively.

"Yeah, yeah. As long as it works."

Emma swallows hard, the way they are talking makes her feel itchy. Panic start to rise in her chest. Just when it gets to be almost too much, when she starts to feel her urge to flee, she feels a hand rest on her thigh and squeeze. She startles and her gaze lands on the hand, and slowly she raises her eyes to meet Regina's. Regina. Emma takes a deep breath, not breaking eye contact with the other woman. Regina smiles warmly, and lifts her hand off Emma's thigh to tuck a blonde curl behind her ear. Emma smiles back leaning into the touch. She allows the other woman to calm her. A cough sounds from across the table.

"Everything okay?" Ruby asks her brow furrowing in confusion. Emma shook her head to clear it.

"Uh yeah, just got foggy there for a moment."

"You need another drink I'm thinking." Ruby gets out of her seat and walks to the counter. Regina coughs slightly next to Emma.

"I'm not sure if that's advisable just yet, Ruby." Emma smiles gratefully at Regina, before turning to Ruby behind her.

"Yeah, agreed, not just yet, maybe after this game?" Ruby scrunches her nose at Emma, then smiles big.

"I'll hold you to that Sheriff." Ruby says with a wink. "Anyways back to business, my questions." Emma sat up straight.

"Questions? As in plural, more than one?"

"I know what plural means Emma." Ruby stares at her unamused, while Regina, Belle, and Tink chuckle.

"Not what I meant."

"Do explain then darling." Ruby purrs and rests her hands on top of Emma, which were gripping the back of her chair by now. Immediately a low growl comes from Regina. Emma glances over and Ruby raises her eyebrows shifting her gaze to the smaller brunette. "Something wrong Regina?"

"Torturing the poor sheriff like this is getting rather dull don't you think wolf?" Ruby breaks into a small grin, pausing to apparently gather her thoughts. Nodding she releases Emma's hands and walks around the table. Emma turns around to face her, and Regina's hand quickly finds her under the table. Emma squeezes it in acknowledgement.

"Really Emma, I don't know what you're getting so worked up over. I'm just asking a question, not torturing you."

"Yeah, and coming from anyone else that would be reassuring. However—" Ruby laughs.

"Are you implying I'm intimidating dear?" Another low growl came from Regina, and Emma felt her hand being squeezed again. Why was Regina growling, what's upse—oh ha! Its cause Ruby's calling me dear and darling, those are her words for me. Emma grins for a second. She's jealous! Emma then chuckles, drawing everyone's attention.

"Oh yes, you and those sad, puppy dog eyes are so intimidating." Beside her Regina shakes with laughter, and Belle has to cover her giggle with a cough. Ruby glances around, looking perturbed on the direction the conversation was taking.

"Very funny Sheriff, let's get on with this shall we?"

"Yes, let's, but be warned Ruby, there are things you can't unhear." Emma winks as Ruby's jaw drops, she can hear Tink snicker from the other side of Regina. Regina herself was silent. I swear her eyes just twinkled. This night is so worth all the embarrassment.

Belle reaches over and closes Ruby's still gaping mouth. Ruby shakes her head, and then grins.

"Okay, I got it." She leans over to Belle and whispers in her ear, after a moment Belle smiles.

"Oh she's going to kill you, and I'm not going to get in the way of that darling." Ruby just laughs and kisses Belle's cheek.

"It's okay I understand lady." Emma narrows her eyes.

"For the love of the gods, get on with it!" Ruby smirks glancing around the table before settling back on Emma.

"Okay Sheriff, my question is: What's your wildest fantasy?"

Regina stifles a small snort. The Sheriff's fantasy, probably something silly like—wait she would be picturing me right. She turns towards Emma her eyes narrow a bit in silent warning. This had better not be embarrassing for me Emma. Almost as if Emma could read her mind she turns towards her, grinning sheepishly.

"Uh well—I not sure I have any particularly wild fantasies Rubes." Ruby snorts loudly, slapping the table in front of her.

"That's bullshit Emma and we all know it. We heard your song earlier, Birthday Cake, really? Pish and even if we didn't I'm one of your best friends I know you too well." Emma scowls at this, wrinkling her nose. It really is adorable when she does that. FOCUS Regina, this moment has the potential to ensure you don't leave the house for a month. Regina's mouth quirks at the thought. Though if Emma doesn't leave my house either it might be worth it—STOP IT! She shakes her head to clear it and pulls herself back into the moment at hand. Emma sighs dramatically before squeezing Regina's thigh briefly and standing up.

"Since this is going to be highly embarrassing enough I have a song that will speak most of this fantasy for me." Ruby raises her hand to interrupt.

"I'll allow it, but only if I get to ask questions at the end to anything that isn't quite obvious." Emma grimaces, but nods then picks up her phone from the counter and quickly scrolls through it. After a moment she seems to find what she's looking for and looks up. Regina catches her eyes, warm brown meeting nervous greens, as she nods and smiles at the blonde. Emma visibly relaxes a bit and pushes play.

"I don't wanna hurt ya but I'm about to work ya
Watch your mouth drop real low
I'm turning you up, I'm burning the clutch
Full speed, both feet to the floor, feet to the floor
DJ running it back once more, time to party that's all I know
Grab somebody tell 'em, "Baby, baby, baby let's go!"

Bounce, make it, make it bounce
Shake it, break it, make it bounce
Bounce, make it bounce
Shake it, break it, make it bounce
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Make it bounce
Oh-oh-oh-oh

Iggy Iggy, gettin' 'em tipsy
Tippin' in brah, to hundreds and fifties
Pullin' up, NASCAR, black car
Shittin' on everyone, sippin' whatever we feelin'
Real real good, hands to the ceiling
Dancin' we dizzy, we spinnin' we spinnin'
All about money, the night's never ending
We party till morning, tomorrow we kick it

Bounce, make it, make it bounce
Shake it, break it, make it bounce
Bounce, make it bounce
Shake it, break it, make it bounce
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Make it bounce
Oh-oh-oh-oh

Let ya hair down and shake that shit, shake that shit, shake that shit
Sweat it out, go nuts in this bitch
Dip it, spin it, and watchin' my hips
I see you watchin' my hips
Crazy, move your body like Swayze
Round and round, shake it, break it, make it bounce
It's a fucking celebration, go-go-go
Girl shake 'em down like you made it, get low-low-low
Then show the good like you're wasted, pow-pow-pow
And spray the crowd with amazement,
fo' show-show-show

Go nuts, hands up, get crazy
Go nuts, hands up, get crazy
Make it bounce
Go nuts, hands up, get crazy
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Bounce, shake it, break it, make it bounce
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Bounce, shake it, break it, make it bounce"

Regina blinks a few times startling at the sudden end to the song, then she starts to feel the heat rise to her face. She chances a glance to Emma, who is sporting a pretty spectacular red face herself.

"Wow—well that was something wasn't it?" Ruby laughs taking a lot at both blushing women. "And you said you didn't really have any wild fantasies. The only question I really have, and it's mostly a hunch, but I'm thinking dirty dancing is the fantasy here is it, so what is?" Emma gulps, looking to Regina, her eyes pleading with her. Shit I can't do anything to help. Tink's right, we are bound by magic. She shrugs helplessly, then just nods her head. Best just to get it over with Emma. Emma nods and closes her eyes briefly gathering her nerves.

"Umm, well no it's not all of it at least. Uh—the other part is, gods Ruby I hate you for this!" Emma huffs and gathers a breath, forcing her words out in one long uninterrupted sentence. "Oneorbothofuscomingundoneonthedancefloorfullyormostlyclothedstill."

A shot of heat runs through Regina.

Well damn.

Song:

"Bounce"- Iggy Azalea

I have been trying to crank this scene out all week, apprantly my muse is just as picky about this as she is embarrassing. (I was blushing writing that sentence) Cause well as Regina says "Well damn." Hope you like it, might be a bit til the next chapter. Have to figure out how to follow that ;) and I might be working on another story (don't hate me, it just won't get out of my head and maybe if I start it the pressure will relieve). It's going to be a Teen Wolf story (my other obsession)
