~ Chapter 14 ~
"Nami? Usopp? Where did you guys come from?" Luffy asked clearly confused and apparently not noticing Chopper in Zoro's arms. While Luffy failed to notice Chopper in his first mates arms, Robin did not.
"Oh, dear. Poor Doctor-san... Are you alright Navigator-san, Long Nose-kun?" Robin asked casually as she took the still unconscious Chopper into her own arms. Receiving two affirmative sounds in response to her earlier question she allowed the group of now six to stand there quietly.
"Hmm..." Luffy made a noise that told everyone he was uncomfortable with how quiet they were all being. Suddenly he turned and looked a Chopper with a thoughtful expression in his face, which in truth terrified all of them except for Robin.
"Did Chopper fall from the sky?"
"You just noticed!?" They all screamed angrily with tick marks appearing on their heads, well all except for Robin.
"Why did he fall from the sky?" He asked cocking his head to the side much like his sister had earlier on the other side of the island unbeknownst to him.
"I'd like to know that to." Zoro said crossing his arms over his chest and glancing at his two crew mates that were still on the other side of the clearing they were standing in.
"Well, you see... There was this beetle almost the size of Sunny chasing after us trying to eat us for lunch and he decided that reindeer sounded pretty good so he took Chopper. Which led to us chasing after the beetle and well, led us to you." Usopp said nervously under Zoro's stare with Nami nodding her head vigorously by his side.
"I see... Well that sounds quite eventful." Robin said with a small smile.
"I wish I could have seen it! Do you think we would've been able to find a way to keep it on the Sunny?" Luffy asked excitedly.
"Che. As if the Ero-cook or witch would let you keep it Luffy." Zoro decided to add his two cents. This only ended up getting him hit by Nami.
"Oh yeah! I forgot Sanji was afraid of bugs!" Luffy said laughing before he froze, an idea twinkling in his eyes. Everyone turned to look at Luffy, and he slowly turned to look at Zoro with a completely serious expression on his face.
"Maybe I should try to feed Sanji to the beetle." At this Zoro smirked.
"I wish. Sadly, Ero-cook probably tastes as bad as his food, besides what beetle would want to eat a pervert like him?"
Thus both Luffy and Zoro got knocked upside the head by Nami for even mentioning feeding someone, much less Sanji, to the beetle. With all the noise being caused by the two men getting the shit beat out of them by Nami, Chopper was woken up and carefully climbed out of Robin's arms and hid behind her legs.
"Navigator-san, if you are finished with Captain-san and Swordsman-san, Doctor-san has awoken so I believe we can continue on our way." Nodding to Robin, Nami let off the to teens and the group pulled themselves together and began to move through the forest.
Franky and Brook looked around as they came out of the forest and came face to face with the beach that they stated out on when they first came to the island. Ahead of them was the Sunny and as they looked around they realzed that the rest of the crew had yet to make back to the ship.
"Totally uncool bro! I bet they are all getting to on a super adventure while we had an un-super trip staright back to the Sunny!" Franky complained loudly as he and Brook crossed the sandy ground to their beloved ship.
"Yes it does seem that we are the first ones back on Lion-chan." Brook said thoughtfully glancing around the quiet ship.
"I wonder what Luffy-san and the others are doing..."
Once they began moving through the forest it seemed as if the tense atmosphere from earlier had disappeared to allow the group to chatter happily among each other. Luffy was talking loudly with Usopp and Chopper, the latter of which was riding on top of Zoro's broad shoulders to keep from getting taken again. Robin and Nami on the other hand walked quietly behind the boys talking about their current situation and about finding the others. Everything continued on this way for what seemed like hours, everyone happy and content with smiles on their faces as if it were a vacation and not a possibly deadly situation.
But, alas, it came to an end when a shadow blocked what little sunlight was falling on the skin of the crew members. The six pirates' attention all snapped to what was obstructing the sunlight only to be pleasantly surprised.
Or not.
Nami and Usopp let out a scream that conveyed their terror and confusion of the whole situation, while Robin only gave a small smile eyeing the in front of the group carefully. Chopper's eyes almost popped out of his head and his grip on the swordsman's head increased drastically causing the swordsman's growl in pain and try to claw the reindeer off of his head. Luffy though just placed his hand under his chin and cocked his head to left side slightly in both thought and confusion.
Standing before the group was a giant, light purple octopus. Yes, an octopus, who had an angry look in his eyes and extremely long tentacles with suction cups the size of small table surrounded by a fence of razor sharp spikes. The giant supposed to be sea beast ran forward by moving its tentacles at a pace that seemed impossible making the group have to jump out of the way.
"Why is an octopus on land?!" Nami and Usopp screeched only to be ignored causingtears to run down their faces.
"Can I keep it?" Luffy asked turning his head towards his crew a hopeful expression on his face as he pointed at the beast. Luffy gained to nice bumps on the head from his friends in response.
"NO!"
"Aw man... Looks like I can't you." Luffy said disappointed to the giant monster as if he were talking to another one of his friends. The octopus replied by trying to smash Luffy into putty with one of his tentacles. Luffy jumped back with a slight frown marring his features.
"Hey, hey. I get it I wanted to keep you to but you don't gotta be a crybaby about it!" At this moment Luffy's stomach growled freezing everyone, including the octopus, in place. All eyes were on Luffy, who only laughed at his stomach.
"Seriously, come on... This is serious you know..." Usopp muttered making Chopper nod his head in agreement.
"Luffy... You idiot..." Nami sighed pinching the bridge of her nose in a hope to ease in forming headache. No more than ten seconds later another growl echoed through the area and all heads turned to Zoro, who just shrugged and patted his stomach.
"It's been a while since we last had a meal, huh, Luffy." Zoro smirked at Luffy who's smile grew even wider if it was possible.
"Mm... Octopus sounds good right now..." Luffy trailed off as he started to drool.
"Well, then its settled. We should get some food. Oi, you guys." Zoro said turning to the others as he unsheathed his sword and Luffy formed a fist with his hand. The others glanced at the green haired man.
"Go get some wood and start a fire." This caused Nami, Usopp, and Chopper to yell at the swordsman angrily, hitting him on the hand simultaneously. Robin only giggled and used her powers to get started on the building of the fire.
Sanji was making good time, if you count the fact he had no idea where he was going or what time it was but still he knew he was making good time all things considered. Storm was still held on his back despite the hours past and had not long ago rested her cheek against his shoulder blade. With the sound of his heart beating in her ear and the feeling of each step and breath jarring her from her place on his back, she fell alseep. Sanji noticed yet did nothing just continued on his way, after all how could he wake her up when every now and then she would make the cutest of sighs as she tried to cuddle closer to his back. Exhaling slowly, he glanced up at the darkening sky that was just beginning to shower the watercolors that were painted across the sky at the end of each day. He could feel a slight chill in the air and if he squinted he thought for sure he could see his breath.
Sanji walked a few more yards before he felt Storm shift on his back causing him to tighten his grip slightly on her thighs to keep her from falling. All of a sudden he felt a puff of breath on his neck causing goosebumps to erupt all over the area. Turning his the best he could to get a look at Storm, all he saw was her scarlet hair but he could feel her nose pressed lightly against his neck. Shivering slightly at the feeling, he shrugged his shoulders a bit to get her attention and make her look in his direction. Looking at Sanji with sleep still partially present in her eyes she allowed herself to make a small sleep groan.
"Sanji... What time is it?" She asked raising a hand to try and rub the sleep from her eyes. Sanji feling the action just chuckled.
"Well its sometime in the late evening if the sky is anything to go by." He said in an amused tone only to get an unamused look from Storm as she reached up and pinched his cheek. The action caused him to yelp and Storm to give a triumphant smirk.
"Hm... Sanji, let me down..."
"What?"
"You've been carrying me for hours, I know for a fact you have to be sore and sleeping on your back isn't exactly the most comfortable."
"Well... Hold on." Sanji sighed glancing around the section of forest they were in, he made his way over to an area where the trees were slightly more condensed then the rest of the forest. Setting Storm down gently, he allowed himself to practically fall to the earthy ground. Storm looked over at the blonde with a look of mock shock.
"Wow, I knew I wasn't light but geez you act like you were carrying Franky or something." She said making Sanji look at her and playfully roll his eyes.
"Well you were dead weight most of the time I was carrying you." This earned him a mock gasp and playful shove from the girl beside him. Turning away from Storm, he pulled himself up to lean against one of the larger trees in their small area. A surge of drowsiness washed over hi causing him to let his eyes close and his mind begin to drift off.
Storm watched as Sanji began to fall asleep before carefully, almost cautiously, moving to his side. Laying her head on his shoulder, she pressed herself against Sanji's side in hopes of fighting of the chill that had settled in the air. Seeing as she was still in her bikini top and shorts she was colder than she would've been normally. She also knew that if Sanji had his suit jacket on he would've offered it to her but seeing as he only had on his dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows there wasn't much he could do. As she settled in against Sanji she felt his arm wrap loosely and sleepily around her waist causing her smile as she drifted out of consciousness.
