A/N:

And I is back! I know that makes many peoples happy, myself included. Yes, overall, I'm still on that semi-hiatus, so a lot of my stories will take a while to update, but at least I'm here. Oh, and I'm still working on that lp. Chapter 6x, where I commence to kill both the recruitables and be very sad (though I wasn't gonna use them anyway). Ahem, also Lucina and Robin in Smash. I may or may not have secretly liked the way that Chrom was treated in that trailer. Oh, and speaking of those two, hope you enjoy the chapter! Short, but to the point! Enjoy! Word Count (978)

Lucina couldn't recall the last time Grima called her to the Dragon's Table. It had to have been years since she last set foot in the ancient temple; long before she became the agent of death she was now.

The former princess' hands tightened around the reigns of her wyvern. There it was before her, the spiraling tower of darkness that Grima called home. That building held such a history. Whether through Grima or Medeus, it was always about the Earth Dragons and the seal placed upon them. Resurrect the Earth Dragons so that humanity would be put in its rightful place, such was the plan of old. Grima wanted to eradicate humanity by any means possible. The world would be open to be shaped as one saw fit. Lucina had been promised a place in this new world. Through her mother, she carried the blood of the Fell Dragon. Her father was the only worry.

The wyvern set down in the barren tower approach. Maybe at one point, structures had stood to defend the table. Now, only ruins and the deserts of Plegia stood watch over the mighty Dragon's Table. Lucina stepped off her mount, noting the absence of any sort of guard. Of course, one couldn't account for what lay in wait inside the tower. Risen, high ranking Grimleal, even the Deadlords; anyone mad enough to attempt entrance unpermitted would have a death wish on their hands.

Lucina's feet carried her up to the entrance, where she looked upon the great doors before her. They opened of their own, allowing the dark lord entrance. Lucina walked the dark halls leading to Grima's rest, the torches leaving an eerie glow throughout the tower. She was left undisturbed along her journey, but she could still feel the cold eyes of those hidden watching her, silently judging. Any misstep, and she knew they would fall upon her, dealing a swift end to her and her supposed mission.

Lucina walked up the spiraling staircase, which led ever upward through the spiraling tower. She didn't have to travel too far, fortunately. Though, Grima would still be quite a distance away. She reached her destination, hesitating before an ornate doorway. A great dragon graced the features of the door. A massive body with six feathery wings, the head of the figure holding devilish horns and six eyes which unnerved even those of the strongest will; all loyal Grimleal knew this as their master's true form. These days, Grima was at rest, gathering power for reasons unknown to all but the highest ranking Grimleal.

With a deep breath, Lucina willed herself forward, opening the door. The former princess found herself within a very large room. Torches adorned every wall, unearthly purple flames bathed the room in their glow, dimming and brightening as if they were all breathing. In this light, shadows played with one's mind, seeming like one was never alone. No human would stay sane after a prolonged stay. Though the room had been rebuilt over the past years, it could never match it's original design; it was still where Grima had returned to the world from.

Lucina walked to the center of the room, removing her hood and kneeling in the presence of the fell one. Keeping her head low, she announced herself. "Lord Grima, I've come to answer your summons."

"Come closer, dear." The fell one spoke in the voice of what once belonged to Robin. "There's no need for us to speak from such a distance."

Lucina's head dropped lower, accepting what the fell one had to say. She rose from the ground, carrying forward. Her eyes avoided Grima's shadowy figure, instead focusing upon the altar beside her. Something far more interesting which held her now. A glowing object lay upon the altar; a golden shield which held five unique orbs, Argent of Holy Light, Azure of Starry Heavens, Vert of Mother Earth, Gules of Given Life, and Sable of Dark Night. It was strange to be in the presence of a holy object such as this. Lucina couldn't quite explain what it was, but she felt stronger around the Emblem. Every inch closer to the shield brought new sensations of power coursing through her body.

"You feel the power of the Emblem." Grima stated. "You're a strong one, I must say. You may carry Naga's blood through your veins, but you've been valuable to my cause." Grima had started circling the girl, red eyes always fixed upon her form. "I must admit, even I had my doubts about you. Blood can only account for so much, but you've earned your place at my side in the new world."

Lucina looked up from the emblem, her eyes meeting Grima's own. "I- Yes, of course."

The fell one hummed, seeming distracted by something as she looked off. "Speaking of blood, the prince sure seems to be following his father's footsteps. Always romping around the countryside, saving poor little villages which mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, far too trusting for his own good…" The fell one paused, a devilish smirk reaching across her face. "Of course, I'd never call you here just to speak of family."

"No. Of course not." Lucina quickly replied. She had almost lost herself. The Fire Emblem had always been an object of people's desires, why should she think herself above its influence? "W-what have I been summoned for?" She finally asked.

"My… child," Grima started, her ruby eyes fixed upon the girl. "You've come far among our ranks. Who would have ever thought the Ylissean princess would ever play a part in humanity's undoing? You have such a talent for subterfuge. Always hidden, always managing to gain the trust of the unfortunate souls who litter this world. As I've mentioned before, your brother is far too trusting for his own good…"

A/N:

So there you have it. Things happened in this chapter that weren't a part of my original plot for this story, but I suppose I can adjust to these kinds of changes easily enough by this point. I've done it many times in the past, no wonder Xanedis says I'm Tolkiening one of my original projects. XD As far as the gemstones are concerned, every one of them except Gules was the translations of what's on the Fire Emblem in Awakening (because I could not find the thing for Gules anywhere, so I just related it to the Lifesphere in the best way I could). Neat, huh?

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! Be sure to leave a review! This is your lovely neighborhood Squish wishing you a good day! :D
