Previously on Chapter Thirteen

Suddenly, Percy's pale hand tightened on hers. With shaking hands, Annabeth leaned forward, catching the attention of everyone. They all looked at her, hope shining in their eyes as they watched Annabeth grasping at the boy.

"Percy." Annabeth's whisper was shaky as she tried to concentrate. Then, she felt it. Percy's hand almost cracked hers, but it didn't bother her.

Beautiful sea green eyes opened and looked at grey eyes with curiosity. With a wince, the eyes' owner spoke raspily. "Hey Wise Girl. Could I have some water?

Chapter Fourteen

Annabeth froze, her grey eyes wide as she stared at the awakened boy. Her heart felt like it stopped beating and her hands started trembling. 'No, this can't be true. Is it?' Annabeth thought, touching Percy's cheek. Once she got over the shock she flew onto Percy, sobs racked through her body as she buried her head into his neck. Percy just flattened her hair, shh' ing her quietly over and over.

"Gods, is it really you Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth sobbed out as she pulled back slightly. Percy smiled sadly and nodded.

"Of course I'm here Wise Girl," he replied, causing Annabeth to slump her shoulders in happiness. "Wow, I never knew you had such a girly side to you," teased Percy. Annabeth lightly smacked his chest before mock glaring at him. Percy winced and sat up, rubbing his chest in fake pain.

"There's my Wise Girl." Annabeth felt her eyes water again as she watched Percy shudder in pain. This was all of her fault, and she knew it.

"PERCE!" Two blurry figures hugged Percy, pushing Annabeth out of the way, not that she minded. She needed space for a second. Ella and Tyson were crying, both of them muttering nonsense.

"Big brother," started Tyson as he tried to stop his tears. "Big brother not dead?" Percy nodded, patting the younger kids' backs.

"Not dead," he informed mock-seriously Ella and Ty, making Annabeth laugh slightly. Only Percy, only he would say that so fakely serious. Ella and Tyson pulled away, sitting down again as they happily conversed, talking about what places Percy should take them after he was released.

Annabeth smiled as she saw Bianca murmur 'I'm sorry' and 'Please forgive me' over and over. Her rubber band snapped while she was sleeping, so Bianca's hair was messily covering most of her face. Percy pushed Bianca's hair out of her face and hugged her. Once Bianca calmed down she stood next to me, smiling joyously as she hugged me.

"Thank goodness he's alive," Bianca whispered to Annabeth, who nodded.

"Yes, thanks the gods."

They watched as Thalia and Nico hesitantly stepped toward Percy, a mixture of guilt and happiness clouding their eyes. Percy just grinned, motioning them forward. "I forgive you," Percy said, stunning his cousins.

"But…but why so quickly," asked Thalia, her voice full of surprise. Nico just stood there quietly, his hands in his pockets as he listened. Percy just sighed and looked at the wall for a while, before answering.

"Because the crash opened my eyes to some things I have to fix. This is one of the problems. Besides, I want my cousins back, I want my best friends back," Percy said simply, his arms wide for a big hug. Thalia and Nico immediately jumped into his arms, excited to be forgiven by their cousin. Both had tears forming, and nobody could blame them. After years of being ignored, they were now forgiven. And it must have felt wonderful to be back.

"Gods, we're sorry. We were young, and idiots, and-" Nico was interrupted by Percy.

"I know, I know," Percy calmly replied, closing his eyes as pain filled him. His body was straining under all of the physical contact and his head was dizzy. He felt like throwing up, but pushed that feeling down.

"Can someone get me water?" Percy's question caused everyone to trip, trying to get a glass for him. Bianca handed him an ice cold glass of water, which he gulped down immediately. Refreshed, Percy put his cup down and looked at his father.

'Oh, Percy must've been talking about his father being the next problem to fix.' Annabeth realized as she saw Percy give his father a melancholy look. Poseidon walked up to his son and hugged him, surprising everyone, even Percy.

"I'm sorry," whispered Poseidon, relief in his voice. "I never knew that you were alive. Sally never told me anything after that one summer I knew her." Percy's stiff body slowly returned back to normal, and he raised his arms to hug his dad back.

"There wasn't anything to forgive to begin with." Percy's words were soft and heartfelt, making Poseidon nod. He let go and excused himself to go get Doctor Apollo. Silence reigned before Hades stepped forward slowly.

"Nice to see you again, nephew," Hades' voice was slightly monotonous, but his eyes were softer. Percy grinned goofily at his uncle before shaking his hand vigorously.

"Nice ta see ya again too, Uncle," Percy jokingly said with a country accent. Everyone laughed, the tenseness of the room gone. For a while, everyone joked with each other, waiting for the Doctor to show up.

"Hello Percy, it seems you are awake," came Dr. Apollo's sunny voice as he greeted his patient. Apollo looked exhausted, his hair was messy and there were bags under his eyes. Worry filled Percy as he looked at his Doctor.

"Dr. Apollo, you don't have to check up on me right now. I can wait until sunrise," Percy exclaimed, making Dr. Apollo to look stunned for a second. He then smiled softly, gliding over to Percy before putting his hand over his forehead.

"It seems you can talk know, and nonsense Percy. I'm fine with giving you a check up right now, I'm a doctor, I'm use to this." Apollo's smooth reply didn't assure Percy, but he still laid back down. As he closed his eyes he felt Apollo go through a regular check up. Listening to his heart beat, checking his temperature with a thermometer, etc.

After twenty minutes, Apollo finished his job. He sighed and pushed his swivel chair back into place. "Well, you're fine. Try to calm down, your stitches are still delicate, and you'll be sore for a long time. Remember, if you feel anything, dizzy, sick, pain, then call for a nurse. I'll make sure that at least one nurse will be working just in case. I will also come to check up on you tomorrow, good night Perce." Apollo raised his hand to show his gratitude. Percy grinned before waving back.

"Have a good night, too Dr. Apollo! You you tomorrow, then," Percy exclaimed, his voice full of gratefulness.

"Hey Wise Girl, could we have a talk," Percy asked unsurely, his eyes holding nervousness. Annabeth smile, looking at him expectantly until she noticed he stayed quiet.

"Alone?" Annabeth's question made Percy sigh before nodding his head.

"Yes, alone," he confirmed, causing everyone to shift awkwardly. Percy and Annabeth both stared at the others expectantly, wanting them to get out. Annabeth sent them a glare meaning 'get out now or I'll kick you out.' Nobody underestimated her, and knew she'd stay true to her words.

After a while, everyone shared looks and nodded, leaving the room. Percy and Annabeth were now alone, and they were smiling brilliantly at each other.

Percy put a hand on Annabeth's cheek and stared at her, his eyes soft as he spoke. "Annabeth, I have to tell you something," he whispered, making Annabeth nod. She bit her lip as Percy sighed tiredly and wince in pain. "I wanted to tell you something for a while, but I didn't know how to say it…" He trailed off, looking thoughtful for a second. Annabeth couldn't take it, she opened her mouth and spoke.

"I think I love you," she blurted out, blushing as Percy's eyes widened. He slowly lifted his hand away from her cheek, and she felt a sting of rejection run through her body. And just when she thought she had spilled enough sobs that night, hot tears welled up in her eyes as he sat there in silent shock.

"I'm sorry, I just…I'm sorry if you hate me, I know that we're just friends. Gods, I'm so stupid, I should've just stayed quiet. Please, just forget what I sa-" Annabeth felt the words spill from her lips as she watched Percy. Slowly, Percy put his finger to her mouth, stopping her conversation with the 'shh' sign.

He then leaned forward, his breath hitting her face. He then gave her his wonderful lopsided grin as a goofy look stayed in his eyes. "You silly Wise Girl, don't you get it? I think I love you too." He then dropped his hands and closed the distance.

Sparks flew, like in those cheesy romance books, and Annabeth's vision went white when Percy kissed her. She smiled into the kiss, then wrapped her arms around his neck. They pulled away, their foreheads touching.

"Really," she asked as they both panted, out of breath. Percy grinned, his sea green eyes sparkling with love and joy. He kissed her nose. Then her left cheek. And then her right cheek. Finally, he kissed her lips.

"Really."
