I decided to go straight to the new chapter. I know some of you may be a little mad at me for my delays, but in my defense, I currently don't have time. Studies are killing me, several tests every week. I feel like multiplying and sending my clones to do my chores for me, hehe.
Well, but thank you for waiting, I do intend to finish this story and it is close to the ending now, only a few more chapters to go.
Thank you for reading, I am sorry for the delay and any spelling mistakes, English is not my first language.
Disclaimer: I do not own A song of ice and fire, or the tv series Game of Throne and its characters.

Chapter XIV – When the storm come

| Lily POV |

It seemed that after each step we took the weather turned worse than it already was. The sky was acquiring a dark shade of grey and it seemed like every inch of our bodies was about to freeze.

I tried my best to hide my face, but the cold metal of my mask wasn't of any help, but there was no way I would take it off because of our so welcome guest. I glanced over to where she and Jon were standing, they were too close for my liking and even thought I knew it was because of the freezing wind, my stomach twisted and I felt my heart tighten.

"Lee." I heard Sam calling and turned to him, his voice insecure as if he didn't know exactly what to call me. As I stopped our tired walk, my body protested intensely. "Yes?" I asked impatiently. "We need to find shelter. We are going to freeze and there is a storm coming and we have a pregnant lady with us."

I felt sorry for Gilly, she wanted to get out of her miserable life and we dragged her along with us to an even more dangerous one. She knew the risks, but yet, I should have known better. "We can't stop. Once we get deeper in the Frostfangs we will find shelter and with some luck, anything to eat."

He knew not to argue with me, my temper was short and I was about to explode over the tinniest of the things, but even though I decided to keep walking, I kept looking for signs of a cavern. My legs hurt when I moved again, my muscles were frozen in place, but there was no way we were stopping now. We had to be getting close to our goal, to the end of this suicidal mission.

The air coming out of my mask was the most interesting thing to see, but I was taken out of my thoughts when the sound of the approaching storm echoed on our ears. Before we could react, the rain was hitting our bodies cold and hard, so we ran, as fast as we could after somewhere to hide. I could no longer hear the steps of my companions behind me, the thunders were so loud that made my ears ring.

My visions blurred because of the drops in my mask and I had to take it off, panting while running, my lungs hurt as the wind invaded my nostrils, so freaking cold. It took me a while to see an almost hidden cave that we could use to our benefits and that's where I ran to, only stopping once I was safe inside.

The darkness made me feel uneasy, bad things came out of the dark, bad things… Somehow I managed to make fire, just enough to allow me to see a meter around me. Something was wrong… There were no footsteps, no Sam gasps because of the dark, no smart comment from the wildling…

A sound reached my ears and I breathed in relief, turning to look expectantly at my companions, but they weren't there. Unless they could morph and become a huge white wolf.

"Ghost…" I called, kneeling and thanking the welcome sight of that giant animal. He greeted me by licking and sniffling my hand, his eyes shining bright as he looked around and I could tell he was asking me where was Jon. "I don't know where he is… We got separated because of the storm… I promise you I will find him, is that alright?"

He walked away and came back with a dead rabbit and pushed it to me. Usually rabbit wasn't my favorite food, but all the food had been left with Sam and I was alone. It isn't hard to put two with two and discover, what was it again? I was never good at this, but I had no food.

I managed to make a small fire, enough for us to warm a bit and cook our rabbit, of course the biggest part was going for Ghost, since he is twice my side and he caught our dinner. The wolf sure was a silent companion, but something about him calmed me down, but inside I was panicking, worried sick about where my brothers were and if they were alright.

"We need to look for them." I said after eating and got up, being watched by Ghost that didn't move a muscle. "What? Aren't you coming? He is your owner, did you know that?" I growled at the animal, but he still didn't move. I glanced outside and the storm was still strong, if not stronger than before, so I sat again, completely defeated. "Alright, you won, we can rest here for a bit and then we look for them. How does that sound?"

He seemed to agree with my choice, as he lied down on his paws and rested his head on it, his eyes focused on the entrance of the cave. I felt safer with him there, safer than I had since we – Jon - made that wildling our prisoner. My eyes closed and I slowly drifted to a restless sleep.

I woke up with something cold and wet touching my cheek and decided to ignore it and turned over to the other side, but was pushed hard on the back in response, which made me get up, sword in hand. But it was only Ghost and I sighed, putting my sword back in the sheath. "What is it? Is it safe to go now?" I asked, but he only looked to the entrance of the cave and I walked over to see that the storm had turned into a light rain.

"Alright, let's go then." I wrapped my coat around me in a useless attempt to get warmer once I put out the fire. Ghost walked a few steps ahead of me and I simply followed, he knew the way better than me.

My clothes were soaked wet in no time and I shivered like crazy, silently I prayed and hoped that my brothers were safe.

The silent wolf guided me for about an hour away from our cavern and he stopped in a bunch of snow and started digging it with his paws. I panicked. One of my brothers was there, what if it was Jon? Or Gilly… She had a baby!

My gloves were frozen on the fingers because of the desperate digging I was doing and once the snow was out of the way, a cave entrance appeared in front of us. The orange light of a fire welcomed our eyes, along with the fire's warmth, but nothing could have prepared me to what I saw.

Jon was there… Ygritte, the wildling was well… And they were kissing. She was on top of him while he laid on his back on the grounds, eyes shut and hands on the sides of his body. Ghost howled and Jon sat quickly, surprised and Ygritte had a smug smile on her face. I felt the tears in my eyes and as soon as they feel, they froze.

Without thinking, I turned around and my feet ran without me ordering, my head numb. I heard someone calling me, but I shut it out and soon was far away from the cave.

| Jon POV |

The storm made it impossible to see what was in front of us and we got separated from the rest, I was still with Ygritte because of the rope I held firmly in my hands. Luckily she knew this area and guided us to a cave for shelter. I shivered and it was useless trying to warm up. The fire was a welcome sight when it lightened the small place we were staying.

I was showing every sign of stress; I ran my hands on my hair, paced around, looked all the time outside and prayed to the Old Gods for their safety, especially Lily's.

"Calm down, Crow. The storm isn't going anywhere, sit and warm yourself." I heard her voice, but it didn't reach my brain fully, I kept on walking. "Jon Snow, you know nothing. They won't come back sooner if you keep walking for them."

"I can't just sit and wait." I yelled, stopping my pacing and staring at the wildling. "Is this because of the pregnant woman or the one that insists in hiding who she is?" She knew about Lily…? But she kept her face hidden, and her voice…

"I know about her, I ain't dumb. Does every Crow have a woman hidden to warm their beds? I thought you weren't interested in meeting women." She asked, a smirk on her face and it was getting on my nerves. "You don't know what you are talking about."

"That is why she was so angry at me. The man-woman was jealous." She wouldn't be jealous, now, would she? For a second I stopped to contemplate and Ygritte's smirk grew wider. "You are crazy." I said after a minute, my voice low and dangerous, but it had no effect on her.

"You say I am your prisoner, but you are the one who lives locked inside four walls and the man-woman needs to hide who she really is. This is no freedom. We, Free Folks, have no shame on who we are, we can run around, we can sleep with whoever we want." The wildling bragged while warming her hands on the fire. "You tell yourself that, but I am the one holding the ropes that hold you."

"Let's not fight, it will not make the weather warmer." She ended the argument and I finally sit down by the fire, as far from her as possible.

It made sense, Lily was acting really weird and angry these last few days. Was she jealous of me? Why would she? I had done nothing wrong, we would have to sit and discuss it further. What if she isn't alright? What if something happened to her and we were angry with each other?

The guilt was beginning to eat me up inside, my head started hurting and without me noticing I fell asleep.

My sleep was restless and I kept dreaming with several scenarios where Lily died. I woke up surprised when a familiar howl echoed in the cave and I tried to stand, but a weight kept me lying down. I looked to the cave's entrance where the sound had come from and my heart skipped a beat when I saw Lily standing there. Her expression was pure shock and it confused me.

The weight on top of me shifted and I looked, Ygritte was sitting on my waist and I quickly pushed her aside, but Lily was already running.

"LILY!" I yelled, but she kept on going and did not stop. "Ghost, go after her!" I pleaded my Direwolf and he obeyed, also being out of sight in matter of seconds.

"What were you doing?!" I yelled at the wildling, anger aching on my whole body. "Me? Nothing." She said like it was nothing. "Stay away from me." I growled, Longclaw was on my hand and a crazy voice in my head told me to use it, to show no more mercy. But my worries regarding Lily spoke louder and I returned to my senses, gathered my stuff and then marched outside the cave, trying to find footprints on the snow or any clue that led me to the one I wanted.
