Author's Note: So this hasn't been updated in a year... Welp... Sorry about that guys! I promise that I was not ignoring all those reviews and PM's I got about when I was going to update. I had, unfortunately, simply lost motivation. But more than that, as much as I appreciated all the positive comments I had received on this fic, I realized that I had made the characters in here (especially Nico) Mary Sues, and I hated that. I also realized that the main plot and all the subplots had become an unmanageable morass of neverending complexities, and I felt that this was doing a complete disservice to both myself and my readers... These are really the main reasons for why I was feeling unmotivated to finish this. However, I know I had promised you guys that I would tell you what ideas I had in mind, so I decided to do so. I opened up the file I have on my computer with this fic, and I saw that I already had the first scene of Chapter 14 written, and I had written down an outline for Chapter 14 a long time ago. Rather than converting this entirely to the outline, I kept the written scene as is, and I put in the outline for the rest of the chapter underneath it (it's pretty obvious where the outline begins.) I will write the outline for the rest of Fort Olympus and upload it ASAP. I know I've disappointed a lot of you guys by not having written this piece in a long time, and I sincerely apologize for that. :/ Sadly, another big reason that I had felt no motivation to finish this story is that I had already achieve both of the goals I had wanted to achieve for this fic: I wanted to write a fic over 100k words, and I wanted to get at least 100 reviews on one fic. After I had achieved both of these goals, I simply could not convince myself to finish... Sorry about that! Anyway, without further adieu...

Fort Olympus

Chapter 14: Continuity

The moment Thalia burst onto the deck of the Argo II with just a wooden statue in her hand and without her companions, the ship's crew knew that something had gone horribly wrong.

Jason, who had been on watch duty at the time, hurried to help her up.

Thalia was sobbing. Jason was taken aback and didn't know what to do. Gently, he helped his sister up onto her feet while yelling for help.

Percy rushed onto the deck to see a stunning sight. The seemingly indefatigable Thalia Grace was in tears as her younger brother clutched her. Quickly, he ran over to help the two.

"What happened? Thalia, are you okay?" Percy asked.

Thalia merely shook her head and refused to answer.

"Let's get her to the galley," Jason muttered to his friend.

Silently, they led the sobbing girl to the galley as Percy called for everyone to gather there.

Calypso helped Thalia into a seat and conjured up a warm meal for the distraught girl.

After she seemed to have gotten her emotions in control, Calypso began softly, "What's wrong, Thalia?"

Thalia couldn't keep the mug in her hands steady. "They were captured," she whispered, not meeting anyone's eyes.

Stunned silence followed the pronouncement.

"How?" Leo exclaimed.

"We'd just gotten the Palladium from the Column of Constantine before we were ambushed."

"By whom?" Percy asked.

Thalia's eyes darkened in both fear and asperity. "I don't know. It had to have been a god, though. I've never seen Nico give up that quickly, especially not in recent days."

"Do you know which god it was?" Frank asked.

Thalia shook her head. "He had wings and seemed to be a good archer."

Jason gasped loudly and paled considerably. Everyone turned to him.

"Do you know who this was, Jason?" Percy questioned.

Jason nodded with fear making his face completely white.

"Well, don't keep us waiting," Leo snapped, "Who was it?"

Jason shuddered before whispering, "Eros."

"You mean the God of Love?" Percy asked.

Jason nodded.

Percy snorted. "How horrible could the god of love be?"

Jason turned to him in complete and absolute fear. "He probably wouldn't be that bad to you, Perce, but to someone like me or Nico or Reyna… He's worse than even Zeus when he's at his angriest. His fury and powers are worse in many ways."

Percy raised his eyebrows. "I know you said you and Nico had a horrible experience with him, but you came out of it alive. Anyway, why does he want them now, anyway? What's he going to do with them? Force them to withdraw their vows of chastity or something?"

Percy's incredulity, however, earned him a sharp glare from Calypso.

"Just because you have not had problems with love, Perseus Jackson," the goddess shot back icily, "does not mean that the rest of the world has had an easy love life. You should think twice and thrice before making such strong generalizations about your friends' decisions. They could have wished for, quite literally, the whole world, and instead, they wished to be protected from love. Contemplate on this."

With one final glare in the Sea Prince's direction, Calypso took Leo's hand and would not meet anyone's eyes any longer.

The tension in the room only seemed to increase as no one said anything for a full minute.

"So what's the plan?" Frank finally cut in. "I mean, for all we know, Eros is torturing Reyna and Nico, and we need them to complete this quest."

"Nico said, right before I left," Thalia said, "to get the Palladium back to Fort Olympus somehow and to wait for him and Reyna in Paris. He's the leader of this quest. I think we should follow his directions."

"We don't even know how long they'll be kept in captivity," Frank pointed out. "For all we know, we could end up spending a month waiting for them to either be released or escape. I'm sorry, but we can't wile away that much time in Paris without any end goal in mind."

"I suggest you speak with the Lady Marshall," Calypso said softly. "She is the one who commands all Greco-Roman demigods, and she is the one who ordered the logistics of this quest. Take her advice and see what she says."

"Calypso's right," Jason said. "Annabeth will know what to do."

"So how are we going to get this statue back to Fort Olympus?" Thalia questioned. "Nico said that we should get it back as soon as we can."

"We can ask Annabeth for advice on that as well," Jason responded. "Anyone got a drachma?"

Percy flipped one towards his friend.

Jason grabbed a glass of water and placed it in between the wall and the window. A rainbow appeared on the wall. He flipped the coin into the rainbow and muttered, "Oh goddess, please accept my offering. Show me Annabeth Chase at Fort Olympus."

Seconds later, Annabeth's face materialized in the rainbow. It looked like she hadn't slept in several days.

"Annabeth!" Percy called.

She looked up startled. When she saw Percy and Jason, though, she broke into a grin. "Hey guys, how's it going? Are you starting back to the fort now?"

Jason and Percy exchanged a sad look, silently having a mental battle of wills over who should be the one to break the news to her.

"Actually, Annabeth," Percy began cautiously, "we've been hit with a bit of a snag. We need your help."

Annabeth scrunched her eyebrows together at this. "What's going on? Is everything alright? Did you get what you had to?"

"Well, there's been a slight change of plans…" Percy began.

"What do you mean?" Annabeth asked sharply.

Reluctantly, Percy explained how the whole ordeal had panned out, from their initial stop in Paris to the need to change course to Istanbul.

"And then, after they got the Palladium, Eros came and captured Nico and Reyna. Thalia brought the Palladium to the ship as soon as she could."

As Percy had explained the whole situation to Annabeth, she had not once betrayed any emotion of surprise; rather, all she did was to look wearier and more tired than ever before. By the time had finished speaking, she looked as though she'd aged ten years with her worry and resignation.

"Where is Thalia?"

"Calypso put her to rest."

"And the others?"

"Manning the ship."

"Okay, so what do you guys plan to do now that you have Palladium?"

"That's actually why we called you," Jason interjected. "We aren't sure what we need to do or what we could do from here on out. Nico told us to get the Palladium to the fort and to stay in Paris until they can find us."

Annabeth seemed to mull this over. "So how are you going to get the Palladium to the fort?"

"I actually had an idea," Percy said. "Could Calypso bring it to the fort?"

Annabeth nodded. "That's a good idea. Run it by her and see what she says. And after that, I'm assuming that you'll stay in Paris as Nico told you to, am I right?"

Percy and Jason shared another look. "Actually, we were wondering about that, too. Frank brought up that it could take months or more for them to escape or be released from captivity. Do we really have that much time to just spend over here away from the fort, Annabeth?" Jason asked.

Annabeth nodded in assent. "Fair point, Jason, so do you have any suggestions?"

Jason hesitated before plunging on. "Well, I already know where Eros' palace is. You know Nico and I visited there back on our way to Epirus. I was thinking maybe we could storm the palace and free Nico and Reyna."

Annabeth shook her head. "I admire your bravery, Jason, but there's no way Eros would have kept Nico and Reyna in Diocletian's Palace. He knows that you would be with the quest and would try to rescue them. I would bet that Eros has them locked away in an unknown location that none of us know nor could find out about in enough time to mount a successful rescue mission."

Jason nodded but had a look of utmost disappointment on his face. Yes, he had known that it was a longshot, but he was hoping that Annabeth would have seen merit to his idea.

Annabeth's expression softened at Jason's deflation. "Jason, I know you mean well, but say that we did know where Eros was keeping them. How would you storm the place and rescue them, anyway? I can't exactly send up a division or two from the fort just to save them."

Jason deflated even further but nodded. "I know, Annabeth, but none of you guys know how horrible Eros is…" Jason shuddered. "I don't even want to imagine the horrors he's putting the two of them in."

"Nico is strong," Annabeth responded. "He went through Tartarus on his own. I have no doubt that he will not give in easily. And Reyna—Reyna is a Warrior Queen. She will come out of this ordeal stronger than she ever was before. However, I do give you my blessing that if they do not come to Paris in the next two weeks for you guys to seek them out. Okay?"

Jason nodded.

"And Percy," Annabeth spoke directly to her boyfriend. "Keep an eye out for everything. I've got a bad feeling about how this whole ordeal is going to play out."

"What do you mean?" Percy asked sharply.

Annabeth sighed, "Rachel told me she had a strange vision of something on Fort Olympus just a few hours ago. She didn't give me many details, but from what I've heard, well, it seems like we've got one last Great Prophecy to live through before we get our eternal peace."

Percy gave her a sad smile. "We'll get through this, Annabeth. I know we will."

Annabeth gave a half-hearted smile in return. "I'll see you guys soon. I love you all."

With one last smile, Annabeth swiped through the mist at her end, and the connection broke.

Jason and Percy shared a look laced with both remorse and fear for the future.

On Olympus, Zeus is out, and Hera takes throne temporarily on Hestia's advice and insistence.

Athena can no longer willingly change between her three forms. She is stuck as the Sea Goddess.

The quest has rendered her incapable of being the Wisdom Goddess. She can no longer act rationally; she has become ruthless.

Hestia watches over her niece in grief.

The Fort is getting restless without majority of Council, and the demigods are demanding answers of what is actually going on.

Annabeth's rule as Marshall of Fort Olympus is being challenged by those who believe she should never have let the Council depart on such short notice.

Annabeth prays to Athena and Minerva for guidance for no response.

She finally prays to Britannia and does get a response, but it isn't one that makes her happy. Britannia is impatient and impulsive.

Eros threw Reyna and Nico into separate cells.

Both are repeatedly tortured by his workers.

Eros tells them of being the firstborn of Chaos and then reborn as Aphrodite's son.

Love: "Force of attraction to create order from Chaos".

After the disorder of Chaos, what caused order to come out of the mutiny was the force of attraction known as Love. This is why the Greeks, and then the Romans, cherished Love, and why the West does so even today.

Eros: "The only way to defeat me is to accept me."

Eros: "I have always been the force that oversaw the change of eras, for Love is the only constant and the only universal entity."

Eros doesn't feed them and doesn't give them water.

Eros tortures them to an inch of their life.

Reyna understands how to defeat Eros, at least temporarily, and meditates on all the love within her. However, as she does, she realizes that her love has morphed away from Jason, and she realizes that Aphrodite has, in fact, done her job well. She feels absolutely zero romantic love. All she feels is fraternal and familial love within her.

Hera comes to Annabeth and tells her to prepare Fort Olympus for battle.

Reminds Annabeth that "children of Athena are a blessing by the goddess on the mortal men she favors."

Reyna embraces her new love and calls Nico to get ready to use Diocletian's staff.

Argo II IM's Annabeth the next day at Paris saying Nico and Reyna still haven't shown up.

Annabeth tells them to stay put in Paris until they show up.

Jason asks her permission to go to split and forcibly rescue them.

Annabeth refuses because she believes Eros wouldn't have taken them to his palace since Eros knew that Jason already knew of their location.

Hazel has a dream saying that the last children of Hades were born in the last civil war among Western powers. She recognizes this as World War II and understands what Nico had meant when he told her that Hades had told him that not all bad guys in WWII were his children. The European Civil Wars, the intra-European Wars between the Western powers in the mid 19th to mid 20th Centuries were led by the Greek and Roman children of the gods on either sides. That's why many historians call them the European Civil Wars.

Author's Note: So this is the more detailed of the outlines I will post for the rest of the story. I will not be writing anything this detailed for the outline of the rest of the story. Also, I should mention now that the outline I will post will be thematic, not chronological. I will be a little bit hard to follow, but I hope it isn't too bad! And unfortunately, I will not longer be writing the last chapter/epilogue in full. I simply do not have the energy to do so. I might write the last scene, but I do not think I will be able to write a full chapter. My apologies to all whom I have disappointed! :/

Review Replies:

TemperedAngel11: (Chapter 2) Thank you so much! :) Honestly, when I first began this fic, I had never intended for Nico to take the spotlight that he did, but it turned out way better than I anticipated! There's definitely merit to the doctrine of "writing to discover" that Stephen King so often speaks about rather than planning every last detail about the story before hand.

Guest: (Chapter1) Congrats on being an immature little twat.
