Really fast update! Like Speedy Gonzalez fast! This chapter is the real test of my action scenes…..I'm so bad at them and yet I love them so much, so please bare with me here. I hope you like this chapter, I do not own Merlin or LOTR (If I did, well things would've been a lot different.) ONWARDS!
Kera and I looked at each other, our faces identical masks of horror.
"Rillien!" We called rushing to the elf. "Our kingdom is under attack we have to go, now!"
The elf allowed horror to roll over his face for a split second before composing himself, he rushed up to the castle and we heard a horn sound a few seconds later. All the grown elves around us started rushing around, sharpening swords, grabbing bows and arrows, readying horses. In fact Rillien and a she-elf I didn't recognize came jogging towards us, four horses in tow.
Rillien handed Kera and I the halters of two midnight coloured stallions, they were both pure black except for an identical white star they shared on their foreheads.
"This is Elen." He said pointing to my horse "And Ithil." He said pointing to my sister's. "Star and Moon in our language, elven horses are bound forever to one rider, if their rider dies before them these horses will become wild once more and no force on earth can tame them. In other words, these horses now and forevermore are yours, they need no saddle and they can run anywhere in a quarter of the time it would take a regular horse." He explained taking off the halters and gesturing for us to get on.
The she-elf gave Morgana and Will their steeds and I'm sorry to say we didn't have time to admire them, I mounted Elen easily and clutching on to tufts of his midnight mane we galloped off.
Many of the elven warriors followed us, it was almost heartwarming to see that, even though we had only known them for a month or two, they were already willing to fight for us. I even saw Frodo riding a shaggy little pony an elven blade at his side, I vaguely remember him telling us that the blade was called Sting and it glowed blue when some creatures called 'Orcs' were nearby.
It was true that Elen rode faster than any horse I'd ever seen, the green of the forest was nothing more than a blur as we flew past.
In less than an hour we were back at the Druid camp where they were in the middle of evacuating everyone and preparing our defenses. Hopping off of Elen I ran to Skyla who was sharpening her sword.
"Skyla?" Kera asked urgently. "Did you see how many men they had?"
Skyla glanced up her blue eyes widening, pulling her light hair back she said in a very small voice "Two hundred, they seemed to know we have an 'army'"
Well at least it wasn't a full out platoon, the Druid's Protectors were miniscule, but with magic and the help of the elves we could definitely take them.
"How long until they're here?" I asked.
"An hour, maybe less." Skyla answered
Soon every Druid man, woman and child were safely out of the camp, we crossed our fingers and hoped we could stop Cendred's men before they reached the safe zone we had designated, it was a cave, well hidden, two miles away.
As the sun was sinking below the horizon we caught our first glimpse of the black cloaks of Cendred's men.
Kera patted Ithil calmingly and locked eyes with me, somehow we knew this was the moment we had to make the short inspirational speech, Keeping my eyes on the enemy that was moving closer and closer I yelled.
"We do this for our families! So magic can one day be free once more! And if we die, we die together!"
There were choruses of agreement from the Protectors and the elves alike and then we plunged head first in the battle.
There was a volley of arrows from the elves and Rillien started yelling things in elvish, but it wasn't enough to stop the charging men, they crashed into us on horseback and on foot, Kera and I sent out flames that fried everything in it's path and Morgana was battling three at a time, slamming them into trees with her magic. Kera and I drew our knives, they whistled through the air and hit the nearest knights with a sickening 'shlock.'
Frodo was fighting exceptionally well for someone his size, no man could stand in his way, his short little blade was now covered in red liquid as he battled two men at a time.
We were doing well but still Cendred's men pushed us back, they were making their way through the trees and closer to the safe area. Kera and I sent a wall of flame at them but it didn't stop all of the men. Whistling to Will and Morgana we followed them into the woods, we found a few by a river holding a few struggling children in their arms, obviously we hadn't given the little ones enough time to run to the safe area, they probably had gotten lost.
"What are you doing?" We yelled trying to get their attention away from the children.
One of the men gave a nasty grin, "What does it look like? Drowning a few rats." Will growled and started towards him, clutching his bloodstained blade. Morgana muttered a curse at them then gave a sickeningly sweet smile.
"Well I guess you'll have to drown us too." Her eyes turned from a deep blue to a molten gold, Kera and I followed in suit, together we all said "Seeing as we're all rats."
Kera and I dismounted Elen and Ithil, our eyes still glowing. Cendred's men had the good grace to look terrified, holding the children out in front of them the biggest of the group said,
"Don't come any closer, or I slit his throat." He said drawing a blade and holding it to the small boy's neck.
We all took a synchronized step forward, before using magic to make all their blades so hot that they had no choice to drop them, then Kera and I drew or knives and sent them flying towards the first two knights, Morgana sent the next two or three flying backwards hard against a boulder, Will spun around and used a motion I'd never seen before with his sword.
"You guys okay?" Kera asked and her and I rushed over to the three children now lying on the ground shaking.
"Y-yes, t-hank y-you." They said gratefully looking at us with tears in their eyes.
"Come on." I said, hoisting the boy who had had a knife put to his throat on my shoulders. "Let's get you to your parents hmm?"
We delivered all the children safely to their parents and got fussed over by Mother before trying to rejoin the battle, but there was no battle to rejoin, we had won.
Elen greeted me happily rubbing his head on my chest and prancing around like we had known each other for years, and it kind of felt like we had.
Next chapter should be up in a few hours, I've had it written for months I just have to make a few tweaks. Swimmergirl if you're still following this story the next chapter is the one you helped me on :P
