Jake's Pov:
I woke up to Ally staring at me which is very creepy. I actually end up jumping out of my bed which makes her feel bad.
"Oh I didn't mean to scare you!"
"Then what did you mean to do by staring at me while I was sleeping"
"nothing just watching you sleep waiting for you to wake up"
"Why?"
"so we can get you ready for your date today! Duh!"
"But it's only 1 our date isn't till 6"
"I know but it takes time to look good"
I shake my head and sit up in bed and she looks at me with a crinkled face like she is disgusted with something. I look at her confused and asked her why is she looking at me like that. She ends up pointing to my bare abs and tells me I need to start sleeping with a shirt. I laugh at her and tell her not going to happen. She just shakes her head and tells me to get in the shower while she picks out my outfit. I look at her.
You know I can pick out my own clothes"
"Yea but no you need to look good"
I give her a look and she starts to stutter.
"No...Not that you don't always look good….you,...you do but this is Becca She has high standards"
"How do you know?"
"Umm she has been crushing on Austin and only Austin since elementary"
I look at her and nod but also show a little sadness. If she has only liked Austin and only Austin what makes me think I can change her mind. what makes me think I will be different and she will actually fall for me? As if Ally was reading my mind she tells me I'll never know until I try. I nod and go to the bathroom to get in the shower while Ally picks out my outfit. I decided to take a long shower since it's only about 2ish and the date isn't until 6. While washing my hair I hear a faint knock on the door followed by Ally calling my name. I ask her what's up and she tells me that Becca just texted her since she didn't have my number telling her to tell me that she is moving the date up to three meaning I only have an hour. I get out the shower wrap a towel around myself and open the door scaring ally while doing it. Ha payback for this morning!
"Why?"
"Because she has to plan the party later and she didn't want to cancel on you so she moved up the date."
"Oh okay"
"See aren't you glad I got you up early by creepily staring at you"
"Yes and no"
I say and she tells me to hurry up and get dressed! So I do as I'm told and I go to my room to get dressed. I look at the outfit Ally picked out. Your typical black shirt with a white vest jacket and white jeans. (A/N Like Trevor Jacksons outfit or Trents when him and Austin dance battle). I nod in approval and got dressed. I gelled my hair up a bit and slid a beanie over it. I sprayed some cologne and looked at the time. Seeing it was already 3:00 so Becca should be here. I walk downstairs and see both of the girls talking and laughing. I clear my throat and they both look at me. While Becca wasn't looking Ally gave me a thumbs up and Becca just stared. I smiled at her and asked her if she was ready to go. She just nodded and then realized she was still sitting down. Once she got up it was my turn to stare. All she was wearing was a pink sundress but she looked stunning in it. Her hair was down but had a headband holding back her bangs. She was also wearing pink wedges which complemented her legs greatly. She finally reached me and I held my arm out for her and we left no without saying goodbye to Ally first. We walk to her car and start to drive towards the coffee shop. She looks at me and laughs and I return her gaze with confusion.
"What's so funny?"
"It's just normally I'm the one getting picked up not the one picking up."
"Oh well normally I ask the girl out but you made the first move so it's custom you pick me up"
"Oh really?"
"Yea you do know that you also have to pay for everything?"
"What! that's normally what the guys do I mean us girls always pretend we are going to pay but the guys always being the gentlemen they are pay!"
"Bex I was just kidding"
"Bex?"
"Oh I mean Becca"
"No I like Bex...no one has ever called me that."
"really well then it's just my nickname no one else can call you that!"
"Yes sir but now I need a nickname for you that only I can call you"
"Goodluck with that nothing really you can do with Jake"
"I'll figure it out anyway we are here lets go"
She says and we both get out of the car and go stand in line to order our drinks. Knowing what Becca was going to do I told her don't even bother and paid for both of us and she just looks at me and smiles. We get our drinks and go to sit at a table in the far corner. We sit there in silence until she decided to speak telling me to tell her about myself so I do. I tell her about how I just figured out that I had a sister and why my parents said they gave me up and my moment of meeting Ally. I then talk about my past and my childhood which she laughs and smiles at because of my little brothers and how crazy they are. She then asks me where I see myself going. I told her that I see myself going to a college here in Miami so I can go to get my degree while still being close to Ally so I can take care of her till she is 18.
At the mention of college she asks me what I want to do. I told her that I'm mostly heading to something in the medical department but I also wanted to be a teacher so I'm going to get both a medical degree and a teachers degree. after telling her that her smile goes 10x wider. She then starts telling me how she wants to be a teacher for either Kindergarten or High school. I laugh telling her that those are two completely different areas. She laughs with me and asks me where I would want to teach if I became a teacher. I told her high school and I would either be a PE teacher or english. She looks at me and nods, telling me she could see me doing either or. I ask her if she does high school what she would want to teach. She lights up and goes into detail of how she would either want to be the choir or drama teacher or something completely different and be a Spanish teacher. I nod and tell her that I could see her as Choir/drama teacher. She smiles and tells me that she is going to get another coffee and then 'bore' me with her life she asks if I wanted anything and I nod. She goes and gets our orders and I smile watching her. She could so be a teacher and I bet all of her students would have a huge crush on her. She comes back handing me my coffee and just gets right to the point.
She tells me about her childhood and how it's your typical little girl childhood. How she always had the dream of becoming a princess and meeting her Prince charming who would save her from the evil dragon she calls her cousin. She starts telling me about her cousin Ethan and how he was like a brother to her and how annoying he was. I sat there smiling and listening to everything she had to say. we sit there and talk for hours it feels like. She got finished telling me how she met Ally and now we are moving on to the questions her mother might ask me.
"So I wrote down questions that my mother might ask you and wrote down their answers. I wish I could sit here and tell you everything but I must go and party plan"
"The party is tomorrow you guys are still planning?"
"Well no it's more like finishing touches but still planning"
"Oh well have fun and I'll see you tomorrow"
"Okay oh and Jake"
"Yea?"
"Dress nice"
"Like Tux nice or just nice jeans?"
"Nice jeans but maybe a vest like thing"
"Will do...well this is weird but thanks for taking me out I had fun"
"Me too….and I told you it was weird it's supposed to be the other way around!"
"I know but still I had fun"
"Me too and don't forget read those questions study them your life depends on it! Well not really but still I would read them if I were you"
"I will don't worry I'll be the best 'boyfriend' you ever had!"
"Good because the last one sucked badly!"
I nod at her and wave goodbye. She is about to drive away but stops and rolls down her window. I look at her as if I forgot something and all she says is purple. I look at her confused and she just smiles and tells me that I'll figure it out. (A/N Do you guys know what she means?)
I wave good bye and go upstairs to be bombarded by questions from Ally I tell her everything she needs to know but she starts to annoy me.
"Where is Austin?"
"Um he should be here soon we are going dress shopping for the party tomorrow why?'
"Because you are annoying"
"Gasp! I thought I was your favorite little sister"
She says mocking hurt and I just laugh at her.
"You're my only little sister and you are annoying"
"good what kind of sister would I be if I wasn't"
"A good one"
I say and she sticks her tongue at me and leaves because Austin texted her that he is here. I get up off of my bed and go shower once I was done I go back to my room and look at the questions Becca has written so neatly for me. I look and see that there is over 20 questions and they are all over 2 sentences long. great there is no way I'm going to remember all this. For the rest of the night I just go over the question multiple times and then quiz myself by covering the answer and for once I feel like I'm in high school again studying for a final or something. (A/N thats how I study for finals and stuff sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't)
After a while I look at the clock to see that it's already midnight and I hear laughing downstairs. I walk downstairs hiding behind the stairwell as if I'm a little kid spying on his parents. I kind of feel like it since I'm spying on my sister and her boyfriend who are in the kitchen. It looks like Ally is making…..what I think to be pancakes and Austin has his arms wrapped around her waist with his chin on her shoulder watching her cook. I smile and picture them like this when they get older. Ally cooking dinner for her family and Austin coming home from work and wrapping his arms around her startling her just like my parents did every night. I smile at the memory but then I notice Austin's hand slowly making it's way to the pancake batter and I know exactly what he is going to do instead of spying on them even more like a creep I go back upstairs to my room and right before I shut the door I hear Ally yell that Austin was going to pay for that. I laugh quietly to myself and go lay down on my bed thinking about tomorrow. I fall asleep both nervous and excited of what tomorrow will bring for me.
The Next day…..
I woke up with the smell of bacon. I run downstairs to see Ally eating bacon and eggs. She notices me and wishes me a good morning. I ask her if she made any bacon and eggs for me and her face drops. She apologizes and saying how she is only used to making breakfast for herself but there is extra pancakes from last night in the microwave. I nod and go and grab a couple also while she wasn't looking stole a couple slices of her bacon but I wasn't quick enough and she noticed glaring at me. I just laugh at her and sit down across from her. She smiles and starts talking about how Austin will come here around 1 since the party is at 2. I look over to the clock and see that it's 11. She asks me what I'm going to wear and I tell her some dark jeans that almost look like slacks a tie and a vest. She nods her head in approval and then asks me what color tie I'm going to wear and I told her that I didn't know. She then asks me what color dress Becca was wearing and I sit there and look at her with a blank expression. Ally looks at me.
"You don't know what color dress she is wearing!"
"No she never told me!"
"Omg! I'll text her!"
I sit there watching her looking through her purse for her phone. I start to think and see if she told me yesterday. we never mention a dress in our conversation at all the only colors we talked about were our favorite colors which hers is red but nothing about a dress color. I see Ally getting frustrated trying to find it in her purse. Girls and their purses, they have everything in there! I hear her mumbling to herself mostly where is that stupid phone….and how can I not see it it's a purple case! I just wait for her to find it but then it hits me.
Flash back
I nod at her and wave goodbye. She is about to drive away but stops and rolls down her window. I look at her as if I forgot something and all she says is purple. I look at her confused and she just smiles and tells me that I'll figure it out.
End Of Flashback
Thats what she must have meant!
"Wait Ally I do know she is wearing a purple dress."
"Okay purple. Do you have a purple tie?"
"Ummm no…"
"Okay I'll text Austin instead since I found my phone I know he has one"
"Okay I'm going to get ready and you should too we all know how long you take"
"Oh shut up Jake!"
She says and I laugh stealing her last piece of bacon. She yells jerk but I ignore her and run upstairs to the shower. I take a quick one so Ally would still have time to take one and get ready. I get dressed in everything but my tie since I have to wait for Austin to bring it and I gel up my hair to make it look fancy and go downstairs and wait for Ally. Still waiting I hear the doorbell ring and I go to get it. I see Austin in something similar to me but with a red tie, so Ally must be wearing red. He hands me the tie and I Thank him telling him that Ally is still getting ready. He laughs and tells me that he figured. About 30 minutes later Ally finally comes walking down looking very beautiful which Austin goes and tells her making her blush like a school girl. I nod my head in approval and we make our way to the party. We finally arrive and the nerves hit me like a ton of bricks and I feel like I forgot everything I spent hours on studying last night. Ally slowly knocks on the door and an older lady opens the door she looks exactly like Becca just older. She looks at Ally and a huge smile comes on her face.
"Ally! So nice to see you haven't seen you since that time in New york so sorry about you and Ethan but it seems like you have moved on and he seems like a sweet guy…..Hi I'm Mrs. Ackman and you are?"
"I'm Austin and it is nice to meet you"
"You are the Austin that Becca never shut up about and I can see why….."
She says looking at Austin as if she is checking him out. I look towards Austin's face and see he is uncomfortable and if I was him I would be uncomfortable too but she hasn't noticed me thank god. Oops spoke too soon as if she read my mind she turns towards me and smiles her pearly white smile.
"And you are?"
"I'm Jake Ally's brother and"
"Becca's boyfriend! Oh it's so great to meet you she has told me so much about you but just told me your name yesterday she really wanted to hide you from me and her sisters I can see why….you are very handsome her sisters will be all over you."
"thank you Mrs. Ackman"
"Oh please all of you call me Michelle come on in…..Becca your friends are here!"
Michelle yells and goes back to her party but not before telling us that there is food and drinks in the kitchen. We all smile and thank her. It seems like she isn't go to ask me any questions so I relax a bit. I hear Austin say you look nice so I turn to see who he was talking too. I turn to see Becca looking gorgeous with her high low I think thats what they call them purple dress and silver heels. Her hair is in a bun similar to the one ally has and she has left me breathless. She finally makes her way over to me and Austin and Ally disappear probably to get food. I turn to her and take her hand. We start walking towards some people when I lean over and whisper in her ear.
"You look really beautiful"
"thanks you look really hot too! I like it when you dress up! Oh my gosh did that just come out my mouth. Sorry I'm super nervous about my mom."
"It's okay and thanks I guess I should dress up more often huh?"
"Shut up"
She says while elbowing me. I fake hurt and she laughs then a girl who looks a little younger than us comes up to me. She sticks her hand out towards me.
"Hello I'm Jessica and your hot we should go out"
"Hi Jessica and thanks but I'm already taken"
"By who?"
She asks and I take Becca's hand in mine and look at her to see her blushing a bit. I then look back at Jessica and her mouth is wide open.
"Wait your Becca's boyfriend…...no way she got someone as hot as you...I mean Austin is hot and she can never have him and you're hotter than him but yet she has you! So not fair!"
She says and leaves. I look over to Becca who looks a little mad and sad at the same time. I look at our hands half expecting her to let go now since her sister is gone but she doesn't she keeps her hand there so I gave it a little squeeze and go to whisper in her ear so no one hears me.
"You are beautiful Bex and anyone would be lucky to be your boyfriend"
I tell her and she looks up at me and blushes again.
"Thanks…..lets go sit somewhere"
While walking towards the living room where everyone is to go take a seat we well I get attacked by a girl who looks no older than 4. I look down at her and she looks up at me with these huge hazel eyes with her arms stretched out as if she wants me to pick her up. I hear Becca mumbling something to her but she is completely ignoring her so I just decided to let go of Becca's hand and pick her up she is a little cutie anyway. I look at her and she smiles.
"Hey cutie what's your name?"
"My name's hazel because of my eyes!"
"I see a very pretty name for a very pretty girl."
I tell her and she giggles and turns her head to face Becca.
"Is this your boyfriend Beckie?"
Becca nods and looks at me obviously embarrassed by her nickname but I smile at her. Hazel looks back towards me and puts her hands on my cheeks and pushes them up. I look at her weird and she laughs while Becca tells her to let my face go.
"He's pretty Beckie I like him"
She says and Becca nods until we hear Hazel's name being called by Jessica so I put her down and she runs to her other sister. I motion for us to continue to walk towards the living room and she nods. We walk in silence listening to other peoples conversations some pointing at us while they talk. I just look around the house until I feel something warm grab my hand which immediately brings my attention to it. I look at my hand to see that Becca is holding it. I look at her and she looks up at me shyly as if asking for permission. I give her hand a small squeeze and we keep walking.
"Your the first one she has liked right away you know?"
"Who Jessica?"
"No Jessica likes every guy but Hazel she is picky but she likes you"
"Well maybe I'm just lucky"
"It looks like you are lucky my mom doesn't seem to be asking you any questions so you can breathe now"
She says and I let out a fake breath of air as if I was holding it in and it makes her laugh until we hear her name and she stiffens.
"Rebecca can you come into the kitchen and bring Jake with you"
We walk towards the kitchen and see her mom and a few of her moms friends standing around.
"Oh there they are! See didn't I tell you he is very handsome"
"Yes mother?"
"Oh darling i just wanted to ask you and Jake a few questions"
"Okay what would you like to know mother?"
"Well how did you guys meet"
I was about to answer when Becca beat me to it.
"It was in the coffee shop I was walking and not paying attention when I slipped and fell into Jake's arms and it was really sweet so we just kept talking after that"
"Aww how sweet"
Her mother answers. Well her answer wasn't a complete lie but it wasn't the truth. He mother than comes with a question that was obviously meant for me to answer.
"How did you ask her out?"
"OH well one day we were walking in the park just hanging out like normal when we passed by this rose bush with the prettiest roses there and I immediately thought of Bex and how beautiful she is and how much she means to me and I knew I had to do something so when she wasn't paying attention I took a rose and gave it to her while saying her favorite quote but in French"
"Oh how sweet how did the quote go?"
"Je savais que la seconde, je vous ai rencontré qu'il y avait quelque chose sur vous dont j'avais besoin. Il s'avère que ce n'était pas quelque chose sur vous à tout. C'était juste vous" (A/N Translation: "I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn't something about you at all. It was just you." )
"Awwwww why didn't you tell me that Rebecca ! that is the sweetest way a guy has ever asked you out!"
"It just slipped my mind I was in quite of a shock especially since he remembered my favorite quote but in French"
After that is was just a bunch of what are my daughter 's favorites. I actually was doing very well until this question came out and I didn't have an answer.
"You seem to know my daughter very well I just have one more question...What type of dance did my daughter do when she was younger?"
I feel Becca tense up because she knew that I didn't know that answer and we were screwed. I played it off by acting like I was looking at her smiling as if we talk about this a lot but in real life I was freaking out. I just looked at her and decided to go with my gut instinct based on what I saw.
"Ballet she was really good too but she gave it up for some reason that she won't quite share with me but she really should go back to doing it because she was the best in her class"
"And that she was...I really wish you take ballet again rebecca you were such a graceful dancer."
"I'll think about it mother now may Jake and I be excused I would love to show him more of the house"
"Why of course dear it was nice meeting you Jake"
"You too Mrs. Ackman I mean Michelle"
We both wave goodbye and right after we get out of the kitchen she takes off pulling me upstairs to her room which I'm surprised she can run in those heels. When we finally get to her room she shuts the door and locks it looking at me with a confused expression.
"what's wrong Bex?"
"How-How did you know I did ballet?"
"I saw it on you...you have the body of a ballet dance and the poise of one too"
"How did you know I was the best in my class?"
"I didn't I just guessed because based on your mom I can tell if you weren't the best she probably would of took you out right?"
"Yea wow you really surprised me today Jake. especially with my favorite quote in French I barely expected you to know the quote but to learn it in a whole other language wow"
"Why thank you! I wanted to make a good impression"
"Well you did on both of us"
She says with a smile so I smile back. I then hear them play her favorite slow song and I see her look back at the door knowing she wants to go dance. I get up off her bed and walk over to her.
"Wanna go dance?"
"Yea I would like that"
We then make our way back downstairs and over to the small dance floor that was created. I look over and see Austin and Ally dancing and laughing. Austin is spinning and dipping Ally and she just has a huge smile on her face. I grab Becca's hands and led her to the middle kind of next to austin and Ally and start to dance. We dance like that for a while until I feel something pulling at the bottom of my pants. I look down to see Hazel looking at me wanting to be picked up again. I lean down to pick her up and look at Becca.
"Do you mind Bex?"
"Not at all but don't steal my boyfriend away from me okay Hazel"
"Okay"
She says with a giggle and I see Becca making her way over to sit but gets grabbed by some guy who I assuming is Ethan based on the description she gave me at the coffee shop. I dance with Hazel for a little while spinning around and occasionally giving her small dips. Once the song was over I put Hazel down and she runs over to Ethan kind of dizzy which makes me laugh. Becca then walks towards me and takes my hands again. We dance for a couple more songs until she is tapped by Ally asking if they can switch partners. Becca looks at me and I nod. Austin takes Beccas hands and I take Ally's. We start dancing to the music when Ally starts to talk.
"You really like her don't you?"
She asks me and I look over to Becca who is dancing with Austin while blushing. Which either means two things he complemented her or they are having this exact same conversation. I look at Ally and nod.
"Yea I think I do."
"I think she likes you too"
"Really how?"
"Because she looks at you the way I look at Austin and also Becca wasn't much of a one guy kind of thing. She is very popular at my school but she never gives any guy a second glance she was too busy focusing on Austin but with you she has opened up and brought you to meet her mom."
"Oh maybe she just feels bad for hitting me with a door."
"Maybe or maybe I'm right and she likes you because right now she is dancing with the guy she has like since elementary but yet she keeps looking over here"
she says and the song ends so she goes back over to Austin. We stay for a couple more hours but then head back home. It took a lot of convincing Hazel that I would come back sometime but she finally let me go. Austin asked me if it was okay to sleepover which I thought was really weird to ask but I get it since I'm her guardian. I told him it's fine but if he was planning on anything don't let me catch him. He turned very red and I laugh told him I was somewhat messing with him. He nodded and told me goodnight since I was headed up anyway. I told them both good night. I took off my clothes from today and threw on some sweats. I laid down on my bed thinking about today like I normally do before I go to bed. In the middle of my thoughts I hear my phone buzz so I look at it to see I have a new text message. I open the text to see it was from Becca.

Hey Jake thanks for today I had so much fun and my little sister absolutely adores you! Maybe one day we can go out again?
I smile at the text and reply
To: Bex
Sure Bex I would love to go out with you again.
From: Bex
Cool well I have to go to sleep now. I have school tomorrow…
To: Bex
Have fun! Goodnight Bex!

Goodnight Jake! P.s I will find a nickname that only I can call you just you wait.
she replies and I just laugh. I put my phone back down on the dresser and lay back down falling into a peacefully sleep dreaming about a very special person.
