HI guys, im back again with another chapter, but its getting harder to write cuz I need a few more 'filler chapters' before I get to the main plot which will be pretty exciting (2 me), so please give me ideas, I will most likely use it, unless it is totally un-relevant
Flamestar slowly woke up from the small rays of sunlight through the entrance of his den with a yawn.
"F-flamestar, m-may I c-come in?" Asked the deputy, "Sure, come in Snowyflight." he replied as the deputy stepped in with a sorrow face and tears rolling down her cheek.
"What is it Snowyflight?" He asked urgently.
"I-Is….S-s-sandywing…" She sobbed. Flamestar's eyes widen with horror. Oh no! Please don't tell me the Killer got Sandywing.
"S-she's d-dead….." Snowyflight sobbed even more as Flamestar stepped out to the clearing to see the horrifying scene.
Sandywing lying limp in the middle of camp with a dislocated wing, broken and smashed jaw and a twisted neck with her eyes open with death and jaws open with blood pouring out. Her face twisted with pain and her bright sand coloured fur soaked in blood. Juniperleaf examined the dead body with her back facing Flamestar, and soon he released that she was also mourning for her friend. Rockyflame, and his siblings are huddled around Sandywing's body mourning for their dead sister.
"What happened this time Juniperleaf?" Asked Flamestar, as Stripefang padded to Juniperleaf's side to cheer her up. Flamestar narrowed his eyes with a slight growl as Juniperleaf lighten up a little because of Stripefang. "Well," Juniperleaf mewed turning to Flamestar as Stripefang backed away a little.
"It seems as if she fell off a high place with a dislocated wings and landed on her jaw and her next. That would already kill her unless the Killer attacked her first, but that wouldn't make any sense since there is a large gash on her neck…" Juniperleaf fell into deep thought.
"Tell me what you think at sun-high, you'll have time to think then." Juniperleaf nodded as she collected some water mint on Sandywing's body as the elders started digging the hole with some of her siblings crying.
"Juniperleaf, I know you're busy, but Herbkit has a belly ache." Stripefang mewed sticking his head in her den. Juniperleaf nodded as she padded towards her organised herb store, she picked up a few juniper berries and handed (or pawed) them to Stripefang. "Make sure she eats them all." The black tabby nodded and left. The medicine cat paced around her den, still trying to think through Sandywing's death, But why would the killer put a gash on Sandywing after she died? Or did the Killer kill her with the gash then threw her off a cliff…? But that wouldn't work, her eyes are open meaning she died from falling off the cliff….. I need think like a normal cat…Not like me… A normal cat wouldn't be able to tell if she fell off a cliff…Maybe there's a scent there! But no…The Killer is very smart about leaving any traces…Its worth a shot.
Juniperleaf exited her den and saw Snowyflight sending out patrols, "Snowyflight, Im going to the cliff." She mewed to the deputy,
"Take a warrior with you just in case." Snowyflight mewed,
"I need to do this alone." Juniperleaf insisted.
"Are you sure you're not meeting with Stripefang?" Snowyflight narrowed her eyes. Stripefang padded out of the nursery and looked at Snowyflight,
"Is there a patrol I can join?" Snowyflight shook her head,
"The patrols just left, wait till sun-high then you can join a hunting patrol." She mewed as Stripefang nodded and padded to the fresh kill pile.
"Can I go by my self?" Juniperleaf mewed impatiently, "Fine, but I want you back at camp by sun-high!" Snowyflight mewed rolling her eyes.
Juniperleaf flew to the cliff as fast as she could, though she cant fly very well, as wings are still pretty new within the clans, only Dawnsky can master them. It's such a pity she broke her wings, so she can help me! Juniperleaf thought grumpily as her wing beats became un-synced making her crash into a tree.
"Juniperleaf?" questioned a voice, Juniperleaf looked down and saw Hawkscar, with his patrol with Faithheart, Icepaw and Midnight.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
"Yea, Im just going to the cliff." She mewed untangling herself from the tree as she flew away.
She landed on the top of the cliff and looked down, It's such a long drop! I never noticed it this way…This Killer may be smarter than we think… Juniperleaf sniffed around, and caught the scent of Dawnsky and Sandywing, along with this other scent, She found where the scent is the strongest and sniffed it. This scent…This scent has nothing on it! I-Its just like this cat appeared here! How can it be….I know it is possible to hide scents in mud and leaves, but this…Theres no trace of another scent! But why is Dawnsky's scent here…?Oh yeah silly me, she comes here every dawn to watch the sun-rise…Wait so did she see the Killer…Is she the Killer?No, it cant be! Well, its been four days since the Gathering… Sandywing died today…So 2 days ago, some cat from the other clans died…Wait a moment! Juniperleaf saw on the edge of the cliff, there was 2 claw marks. Claw marks…Maybe Sandywing tried to hold her grip on the cliffs before she fell…So the Killler dislocated her wing first! But why are the claw marks 2 different sizes… Juniperleaf soon realised that the sun was almost fully up, Juniperleaf quickly flew back to camp right before Sun-high.
"Juniperleaf, please come to my den, we must speak, I also have some senior warriors with me to discuss this matter." Juniper leaf nodded as she padded to his den with Snowyflight, Bramblefang, Hawkscar, Leafheart, Twigflame and Wolfhowl.
"Wolfhowl just told me that she caught Dawnsky falling off a cliff around 2 days ago, and she saw a cat, do you think that cat is the killer?" Juniper leaf thought for a brief moment,
"Depends if that cat was trying to kill Dawnsky." Flamestar glanced at Wolfhowl,
"Im not sure about that, she just told me she fell off, it was a few days ago. Why don't you ask Dawnsky yourself?" Wolfhowl mewed feeling very confused her self.
"I'll get her." Juniperleaf offered, she left as she received a nod of approval from Flamestar.
A few moments later Dawnsky was sitting in the leader's den, "That day I was on the cliff watching the dawn as usual. There was a cat who pushed me off the cliff, and my wings are still broken at the time. And now. So if Wolfhowl wasn't there to save me, I would be in StarClan now!" Dawnsky joked purring in amusement, then soon realised the other senior warriors didn't find it funny. Dawnsky stopped purring sitting normally again.
"OK, so that cat was trying to kill you?" Juniperleaf asked with a serious face and tone.
"Yes, I would've died if it wasn't for Wolfhowl." Juniperleaf nodded
"Did you try to hold onto the cliff?" Juniperleaf asked remembering the claw marks on the edge. Dawnsky nodded licking her chest.
"Ok thanks for your help Dawnsky, it was very useful, you can rest now until the dusk patrol." Snowyflight mewed with a smile, Flamestar nodded in approval as the white tortoiseshell she-cat dipped her head to the deputy, "Thanks." She mewed padding out of the leader's den.
"The Killer is still unknown throughout the clans, though the Killer targets cats from all Clans." Juniperleaf started, "Hmmm, what do all the victims have in common?" She asked twitching her tail.
"I remember there is Foxfire, Snowyflight, Greyflower, (and a lot more Im guess, but Im sorry Im too lazy to look at my old chapters from before and look for all the cats who died.)." Flamestar mewed thinking hard.
"Hmmmm…What are the links they are connected to? Anything would be useful." Juniperleaf mewed as everyone started thinking hard.
"Well my and Foxfire's great grandfather is the legendary Foreststar." Wolfhowl pointed out.
"Snowyflight and my siblings, well you all know my parents are Endlessflame and Brightstorm. Endlessflame mother is Sunshade and Hawkswipe. And Sunshade's brother is Stonehaze, Foreststar's deputy." Snowyflight mewed trying to remember all the history her parents ever told her.
"Hmmmm, how about Greyflower?" Juniperleaf asked.
"I think I once heard some elders talking in a Gathering once that Greyflower's grandmother, Heatherbreeze and her 2 sister and one brother, Doeleap, Crowfoot and…What was her name…Spottedwind, yes Spottedwind was Runningstar's strongest supporters in the Great war." Snowyflight mewed.
Juniperleaf's eyes lightened at a thought. "All of these cats' kin, all related to the Great War. And all against them … The more I think of it… All of these cats' kin all are the kin to the heroes that stopped them…. I think that they are back. And they are back for revenge."
Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn! I think this chapter came out faster than I expected~ Pay back for the ones I said I would do but never did. School's started and tbh I think I write more when school starts XD. Anyways Im quitting Aj cuz its boring and now I'm addicted to instagram :D I'm dawnsky_of_mapleclan but I'm on private so yea XD
