Chapter 14: Summary of the Olympics
For the next 20 days at the Olympics, The Heroes, The Girls, The Wild Ones, and the Challengers are doing their best to win lots of gold medals for their countries.
The Heroes Team
The Heroes have placed second on Archery at Moranbong Park due to Luigi not being able to aim at dead center on the target at the last round. They have lost to the DPRK Team.
All of them got mad at Luigi. "Sorry…", apologized Luigi.
On Athletics at Rungrado Stadium, they mostly placed on first in 100m and the rest of the Athletic event because of Sonic's fast speed. They were able to be placed at first on 20km walk due to Sonic again, first on Marathon, first on 4 x 100 m Relay due to Sonic and Tails fast ability, third place on Pole Vault due to Tails choice of not cheating by flying.
The DPRK Olympic Committee HATES Sonic and Tails because of their fast abilities on the Athletic part of the Olympics.
On Aquatics at Kim Il Sung University pool, Mario is placed second in 100m freestyle due to the ability to swim, but had his weight down. And Mario and Sonic is placed on third on the Duet Synchronized Swimming due to the issue of Sonic that he had to be in the water.
There were only 3 countries to compete with because the Olympics were allowing Duet Synchronized Swimming with men and not a lot are willing to go through with it.
"Mario, this sport is gay…", said Sonic.
"I agree with-a you Sonic…", trailed off Mario.
On Court and Field Sports, Mario and Luigi is at second place on Table Tennis Doubles because they are strong, but not fast enough to beat the Chinese Team. It was held at Table Tennis Gymnasium in Chongchun Street. Sonic and Tails is in first place on Badminton Doubles because they were fast enough to beat the Danes Team. It is held at Badminton Arena, Mangyongdae District in Pyongyang.
On Contact Sports, Mario weighs about 75 kg so he was at the 73 kg group in Judo and Mario earns a second place because the Russian was much stronger than Mario. Luigi places first on Fencing Epee because of his quick reaction on a Norwegian. Both of the sport is held at Taekwondo Palace, Pyongyang.
On Gymnastics at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, Tails won first place on Horizontal Bars because of his rhythm on the bars.
"Congratulations buddy!", exclaimed Sonic.
"Thanks!", exclaimed Tails.
On Cycling in Rungrado Stadium, Tails ended up at sixth place due to fear of safety mechanics at Sprint cycling.
On Boat Games, all of them ended up in first place in Rowing-Quadruple Sculls due to the quickness of rowing the boat. Mario & Tails ended up in 1st place in Sailing-470 pair due to both of them knowing how to win at Sailing-470 pair. Both sports were held at Taedong River.
On the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, Tails won first place due to the accuracy of shooting the target with the laser gun.
On Multi-Discipline, Mario ended up in third place due to feeling tired easily. Mario has to swim in Taedong River, then cycle around Rungrado Stadium, and finally enter the Rungrado Stadium.
"I'm-a tired!", exclaimed Mario.
Mario ended up losing at seventh place in Modern Pentathlon due to unable to be keeping up with other athletes. Mario has to do the swimming at Taedong river, run through the Moranbong Park, get on the horse to do showjumping when Mario is halfway at Moranbong park, then he has to get off the horse to get in Kim Il Sung Stadium to do Fencing epee, and finally use laser gun to do pistol shooting inside Kim Il Sung Stadium. He is extremely tired during and after the event.
The Girls Team
On Aquatics that is held in Kim Il Sung University, Daisy won first place at 100m backstroke.
"All right Daisy! You have won in first place!", exclaimed Lisa.
"Yeah! Thank you for coaching us!", exclaimed Daisy and Daisy hugs Lisa.
All of the girls won first place on Synchronised Swimming Team due to getting the rhythm correctly. They thank Lisa for coaching their swimming abilities. Lisa is satisfied.
Blaze won second in 100m breaststroke. "I am sorry mom…I don't know what went wrong in this process of coaching-"
"It is okay sweetie. Remember: 'If winning is the only true objective of sports competition, why should one continue to compete when consistent winning is extremely unlikely?'.", said Blaze. Lisa agrees on the statement that Blaze makes.
Peach & Amy got third place in Synchronised Platform Diving due to rhythmic issues. Lisa is less than satisfied on her coaching behalf. Amy cheers her up by saying that they did not have enough time to practice perfectly and they had fun for the last few days.
On Courts & Field Sports, Amy and Blaze were playing Beach Volleyball against the U.S. team and they won first place at Nampo Beach. The ONLY place where the Olympic Sport was held other than somewhere in Pyongyang.
When they are at the medal ceremony, the IOC Member gives them medals to Amy and Blaze and when they are done, Amy and Blaze gives a kiss to each other after the flag raising ceremony. The DPRK people were so shocked that they have gasped and went eerily silent. It is proven controversial.
"Uh oh...", trailed off Lisa.
"Um, Lisa? It is time for you to go get your ice cream…", trailed off Ms. Lee and she punches Lisa's stomach and carries her to get ice cream.
The DPRK Authorities immediately arrested Amy and Blaze. They have stripped their medals for doing that and the Supreme Leader calls an emergency meeting at the government building about the publicity stunt…
They have released them for a few hours at the request of the Supreme Leader that said, "The Olympic must go on…Amy and Blaze will be dealt after the Olympics.".
After that, they went on as if nothing had happened but Amy and Blaze knows that they have to get out of the DPRK as soon as they can before the trial and Lisa have to try cooperating with about the situation.
at this point decides to give Lisa her walkie-talkie back and warns her to do it on her own time. She agrees and hugs .
On Gymnastics in Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, Amy had won first place due to the balance of the body that she had by the advice that Lisa gave them.
All of the girls team had won first place because of the advice that Lisa gave about the rhythm.
On Cycling, Amy did not win the Omnium point race because she did not gain enough points. Lisa is disappointed on her coaching style, but has her hopes up. Blaze won first place in Keirin due to her legs being quick enough to pedal through. It was held inside Rungrado Stadium.
Lisa had mixed feelings because she does not know if she had coached them well enough.
On Equestrian at Mirim Horse Riding Centre, the girls had done show jumping and they ended up in third place due to their horses not able to be fed well. At that point, Lisa felt the low self-esteem and wonders if her coaching skills is not working.
Amy tries to cheer her up by telling her how good she is at being a strict coach while Blaze tries to tell her that it is not her fault. Rather it is the horse that was underfed that did not give the horse enough energy. Lisa was not so sure for now…
On Boat Games that was held in the newly built Munsu Wading pool, Amy & Daisy won third place because their resistance of tough currents. Some of the athletes and foreign fans questioned about the ability that Lisa has to coaching. Others know that Lisa sucks at coaching the girls team due to her age.
Lisa did have aggression of coaching before and she felt like she is failing or falling behind because she thinks that she did not do enough aggression on coaching. She got into an even lower self-esteem. She wonders what she did wrong and how her gymnastic coach Lugash did a better job as a coach.
The girls team (specifically Peach and Amy) are feeling more easily tired because they have been practicing too much from Lisa. Ironically, Blaze and Daisy think the ability of Lisa coaching is great because she is aggressive, but not too aggressive on them. It had a strong balance between criticism and praise.
Their "Coach" Toad/Kinopio on the other hand, is not so good at coaching because Toad gives them ninety-five percent of praise and five percent of criticism. That did not make them win more medals. In fact, they never even win Gold or Silver medals as a team and as an individual. Blaze got only a few bronze medals from the previous olympics.
"Lisa...do not be sad honey…I know you think that you are actually bad at coaching, but it is not true.", said Blaze.
"How is it not true mom? I question myself on my coaching skills and I wonder if I did not get enough influence on my gymnastic coach Lugash…", said Lisa sadly.
"You are better than 'coach' Toad.", explained Blaze.
Lisa is surprised to hear that she was better at coaching and ask why. She explains about the amount of medals that they have won compared to Toad and the coaching from Toad. Lisa is proud of herself afterwards.
Peach and Amy begged Lisa to tone down her criticism on them and instead give them encouragement with her harsh tone while Blaze and Daisy wants more criticism and less praise just so they can win better. Lisa agrees to give them what they want if it means raising her self-esteem and her coaching skills.
On Archery as an individual that is held in Moranbong Park, Blaze managed to win first place because the strong criticism that she gives onto Blaze on how 9 points is not good enough.
The Wild Ones Team
On Athletics, Donkey Kong won in first place on hammer throw because of his strong abilities to grab heavy items. Vector won third place on Javelin Throw because of a bad weather that cause him to lose. It was held at Rungrado Stadium.
On Court and Field Sports, Wario won first place in Tennis (Singles) due to his muscles. He is on the medal ceremony. It is held at a new tennis court that Pyongyang has built for people.
"I won! I won! I won! I won!", exclaimed Wario annoyingly.
"You guys all suck at Tennis!", exclaimed Wario and he laughs. Wario was taken to the interrogation room and forced to apologize about what he said and the DPRK authorities explain to him about the rules of IOC AND the DPRK. He agrees not to do it again.
Wario won first place for Badminton (Singles) due to the previously stated reason. It is held at Badminton Arena, Mangyongdae District in Pyongyang.
On Contact Sports, Knuckles weight is 40 kg (or 88 lbs) and he was assigned to the Light-Flyweight Boxing match. He is at the final round and his opponent is…
"From Bronx, New York...Little Mac!", exclaimed the announcer. The foreign audiences gasped and was surprised to see Little Mac from the USA have made its way into the Pyongyang Summer Olympics despite US is supporting the South Korean-led boycott.
"And from Angel Island, Mobius...Knuckles!", exclaimed the announcer. It was the beginning of Round 1.
After Round 1, Doc Louis, the coach of Little Mac is telling him something important. "Mac, make sure you dodge more frequently. Knuckles has a stronger punch than what you think!", exclaimed Doc Louis.
Wario is giving advice on Knuckles on how to watch out. "Knuckles, watch out for his powerful star uppercut...you can tell by his somewhat slow but strong uppercut. Dodge if you see that coming!", exclaimed Wario.
"Knuckles, you got this! You can K.O. him! You are stronger than Little Mac! Defeat him no matter how fast his dodging and punching skills are!", encouraged Espio. Knuckles agreed.
After Round 2, Doc Louis tells him another important advice. "Listen Mac! If you want to use your star uppercut, make sure you see his signs!", exclaimed Doc Louis.
"How is that going to help me Doc?", asked Little Mac.
Wario is giving another advice on how to defend himself. "Knuckles, if you are planning to avoid damage, remember to dodge left, right, and down.", said Wario.
"You...mean...duck...down?", asked Knuckles tiredly.
"Yes. Duck Down when he tries to punch your head, not your body.", said Wario.
"Knuckles! We have more points than Little Mac by 1 point. Make sure you are able to knock him out good!", encouraged Espio. Knuckles felt a bit more confident on himself.
At Round 3, Little Mac was challenged by Knuckles for the third round. In the last few rounds, Little Mac began to take a horrible beating and is soon unable to defend himself from the powerful blows that Knuckles is using. But Little Mac refused to go down. Knuckles won by a technical knockout in the third round, when the fight was stopped with Little Mac lying on the ropes trying to get up and keep fighting. However, Knuckles wished that he was able to knock Little Mac down just for publicity stunt.
Knuckles won first place while Little Mac won second place. At the Medal Ceremony, due to the IOC rules regarding nations in boxing, they were allowed to raise their respective flags. The flag that they have raised for Little Mac instead is the Bronx flag due to the U.S. flag being HATED in the whole country of the DPRK. Strangely, the third place is the DPRK boxer that was not there in the medal ceremony…
Vector is 200 kg so he was assigned to the 125 kg+ freestyle wrestling and he won first place because he defeated the Japanese wrestler who is weigh at 130 kg. Both sports is held at Taekwondo Palace, Pyongyang.
On Gymnastic Rings, Vector won third place due to his risk is hurting. It is held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.
On Double Trap as the shooting sports, Donkey Kong wins second place due to his somehow poor vision. It is held at Moranbong Park.
At Weightlifting, Donkey Kong is 363 kg so he was assigned to 105 kg+ class. Donkey Kong manage to win in first place due to his strong muscles and is aware the dangers of the barbell without rotating sleeves.
The Challengers Team
On Athletics, Yoshi won first place at the 110m hurdles because of his quick ability to jump and run. Shadow got into the third place at 1500m race because he was really tired at the last 400m. Yoshi won second place at the 3000m steeplechase because of the previously stated reason and got tired at the last 400m run. Waluigi wins 2nd place at Long Jump because of his long jumping distance but was not able to jump longer than an Israeli who jumped about 11m. Silver won third place at triple jump because he was not fast enough to do a longer distance. Silver did not win handball due to the fact that the ball is too heavy for him to throw without using his Psychokinesis for cheating. It was held inside Rungrado Stadium.
On Aquatics, Waluigi lost the 10km marathon swim at the 30 min mark due to being really tired in the water. It is held at Taedong River.
On Gymnastics, Silver won first place on Floor Exercise because of his rhythmic skill. Yoshi won first place on Trampoline because of his high jumps and is able to steer himself to the center of the trampoline.
All Male Teams
On Field Hockey that it is held on a new hockey field, Luigi is the team captain and a midfielder. He assigns the teams into places. Wario and Knuckles is the inner position while Sonic and Tails is in the midfielder position. Donkey Kong is goalie, Vector is sweeper, Shadow is in the left wing position, and Mario is in the right wing position. Yoshi and Waluigi are the fullbacker. Silver is sitting on the bench with an Israeli field hockey player.
"Hello, my name is Gil. I honestly wish they have more Independent Olympic Participants who wanted to play field hockey in the DPRK, but I think they are worried about the arrests that the DPRK has made...and they are right…your name is Silver, am I correct?", asked Gil the Israeli Field Hockey Player.
"Yes, my name is Silver. I am here because my team may need me in case if anything goes wrong.", explained Silver.
At the medal ceremony, all of the male team won second place in field hockey with Gil who had to replace Yoshi as the fullbacker during the semi-finals because Yoshi is feeling too tired due to the limited food that the DPRK provided them. They have lost to the Germans.
On Handball held in Pyongyang University of Physical Education, Sonic is the team captain who is the center back court player. Waluigi is the goalkeeper, Tails is the pivot, Wario is the Right Inside Defender, Donkey Kong is the Right Half Defender, Yoshi is the Right Outside Defender, Luigi is the Left Inside Defender, Shadow is the Left half defender, Vector is the Left Outside Defender, Mario is the Left Back Court Player, Knuckles is the Right Back Court player, Silver is the Left Wing, and the Japanese Player named Shigeru.
At the medal ceremony, all of the male team won first place because of the quickness strategy that Sonic is using and thanks to Shigeru who is provided the extra player to them. Without him, they would not have entered the Field Hockey or win it at all.
On Water Polo that is held at Kim Il Sung University Pool, Wario is the team captain and he is at the point position, Mario and Luigi are at the flat position, Donkey Kong and Vector are at the Wing Position, and Waluigi is at the center position. Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Knuckles, Silver, and Yoshi are at the bench.
At the medal ceremony, all of them lost because of the strategies that Wario implemented and executed is poor.
"Sorry…", apologized Wario.
On Football/Soccer held in Rungrado Stadium for the finals, Luigi injure his leg by tripping and Silver was feeling really fatigued so Tails and Brandon the U.S. Male Soccer Player were on the field and they were prepared to beat them.
At the medal ceremony, all of the male team won third place against Brazilians because they still have the speed, but not as much speeds for Germans in second place and DPR Koreans in first place.
On Basketball held in Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, at the Semi-Finals they meet special guests from the United States.
"So...how are you guys doing today? By the way, I'm Dennis Rodman. And these here are my teams: Kenny Anderson, Vin Baker, Charles Smith, Eric 'Sleepy' Floyd, Cliff Robinson, Doug Christie, and Craig Hodges.", introduced Dennis Rodman and his team wave them hello. The first five is able to play while the rest are on the bench.
"Hello Dennis Rotman. I'm Waluigi. And these here are my teammates: Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, and Vector. The rest of my teams are on the bench.", introduced Waluigi. They are prepared to play basketball.
At the Medal Ceremony, they have managed to won third place because of the poor strategy that Waluigi implemented and executed. Dennis and his team managed to win in first place. Strangely, the DPRK team won second place but they were not there for some reason…
"Hey Kim, where's your team?", asked Dennis Rodman.
"Oh...they have something better to do right now my friend...they will be fine.", said the Supreme Leader in English.
The foreign fans are talking about why did Kim Jong Un did not speak English earlier. A lot of tour guides remind them about the U.S. spies and soldiers. They do not want them to worry about it when that happens. Tour guides told them that sometimes, foreigners do not need to listen to his words to the Korean people.
The order that I am doing is from the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games on the Nintendo 3DS.
There are some sport events that is held in either an unknown place or an unusual place. That is because when searching around the internet about the the sport venues of the DPRK, chances are, the information is limited and either it does not have the translated meaning or it does not exist at all.
An example is that when I tried to find something about the DPRK Field Hockey around the internet, there is the video, but the description is not helping and where it is held at is limited to Korean language only. I cannot understand Korean. If one of you guys speak Korean, do me a favor, watch the video, and either review me or PM to me so I can put the sport venue name in the story. I am trying to be realistic.
Another example is the Bicycle events. There is no stadium in the DPRK that held any bike events so I decided to use the Rungrado Stadium for riding inside. It is unusual, but it makes sense anyway because there is no such sport venue. If I am wrong, review me or PM me!
