Okay, back to Feywen and GLorfindel. Enjoy!

"I thought you were going to wait for one who could tell us more."

"That was the plan. But I cannot rest here while two other kingdoms lie unprotected. Surely you understand that. As king, it is your priority to ensure that all of your people are safe. Fighting for all of Middle Earth, I must ensure that all in Middle Earth are safe. But Glorfindel is on his way here. I want you to meet him at the gate."

"I don't like you going with the prince. He is up to something."

"Whether he is or not, I have to ensure the dwarves and the elves of Mirkwood are safe. Don't worry, Aragorn. I can take care of myself well enough."

"I'm not worried about someone attacking you."

"Aragorn, you are sounding too much like your namesake. I will be fine. I will leave the swallow here in case you need to contact me. I also need you to give Glorfindel a message for me. When he gets here, tell him I have continued on to protect Mirkwood and Erebor. Also, only let him rest a night if he needs. Otherwise, tell him to follow me with all haste. Legolas says that we are taking the river back to the Falls of Rauros. We'll walk from there unless we take horses with us. Tell this to my husband." Feywen didn't tell the young man, but she knew that Legolas had an ulterior motive for asking her to leave before Glorfindel arrived. But she also knew that she could not let his people and the dwarves go unprotected while she waited for her husband to be at her side.

"Be safe, Feywen."

"Just pass on my message. I will see you when we return."

"We?"

"Me and my husband." He nodded and she strode out of the room and to the courtyard where Legolas was waiting. She groaned inwardly as she remembered what traveling with Legolas had been like before. "Go, Kemen. Find Glorfindel. Once he departs to go after us, follow the river until you feel our trail"

"Do not worry. Glorfindel will be back by your side soon."

"Thank you, my friend." She felt Kemen leave and turned to Legolas. "Let's go. The sooner we get there, the sooner I can return to Gondor and my husband." She walked out of the gates and he followed her. She didn't notice the partially hidden smirk on his face.

"You will be returning to Gondor, Feywen. But Glorfindel will not be your husband much longer." They walked silently to the stables and retrieved their horses and then walked down the circles. Feywen wanted to give Glorfindel as much time as she could to reach Gondor and be after them. She hoped he would catch up to them before they reached Mirkwood. Once out of the city, they mounted the horses and rode east, toward Osgiliath where the boat was waiting. They boarded and tied the horses to the deck.

"How long will this take?" Feywen asked the captain.

"Three or four days with strong rowers." He answered her. She nodded and walked away, ready to be off, but also wanting to stay.

"I miss you Glorfindel. Why didn't you hold me when you arrived in Rivendell? You say that you cannot wait to see me again, but I can't help but wonder if you are angry with me."

"Feywen, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, Legolas. There is no need for you to worry about my welfare. I miss my husband is all."

"I will not say that I understand what you are going through." He placed an arm around her shoulders. "But you have my sympathies."

"I don't need your sympathies." She threw his arm off. "You have no idea what it is like to love or be loved. After all, you let Carolani slip through your fingers." She stormed off, leaving him alone beside the rail of the ship.

He reined in Shadowfax as he felt the same border he had felt when he had first entered Rohan. "Finally, I have made it to Gondor." He looked at the mountains that blocked his way. "Must I go over them?"

"Follow them east." A voice suddenly spoke in his mind. He jumped and looked around. He could feel Feywen. "Ride along the base of the mountains to Minas Tirith, Lord Glorfindel."

"Who are you? Where is Feywen?"

"All will be revealed in Minas Tirith. Make haste." He turned Shadowfax east and reentered Rohan. He had no idea how much longer the journey would take him, but he was nowhere near Edoras. He let Shadowfax run through the night and the next day before stopping to camp. He camped the next three nights as well and was soon in Gondor. He rode through the night for the next two nights and hurried on when he saw the white city. He hurried through the gates to the sixth circle where he let Shadowfax be taken away and entered the citadel. He approached a guard.

"I must speak with the king, where is he?"

"I am here." Glorfindel turned sharply and almost gulped in fear. Striding towards him was the spitting image of Feywen's long dead brother, Aragorn.

"I am honored that you would meet me, King of Gondor. Where is Lady Feywen? I must speak with her."

"You must be Glorfindel. Follow me, we have much to discuss."

"Majesty, where is she?"

"You may call me Aragorn as is my name." Aragorn waved off his entourage, leaving the two alone together. "She wanted me to tell you that she has continued on to protect Mirkwood and Erebor and that she wants you to follow her with all haste. But as the sun is setting, you will stay the night and follow them in the morning."

"Them?"

"Feywen and the Elven Prince, Legolas. He endeared her to go with him to Mirkwood and Erebor and place shields. They are traveling on the river to the Falls of Rauros. They will take their horses from there to Mirkwood and then Erebor." Celeborn's vision came to Glorfindel's mind with clarity.

"Please, Feywen, do not turn from me." He jumped at a touch on his arm. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I said not to worry. She is loyal to you. I heard she gave Legolas a good tongue lashing every time he got her alone. She even slapped him once. She is hoping to return here with you so you may both find a way of defeating Morgoth."

"What route should I take?"

"They rode on the river, but it may be faster if you go on land. You should cross the river in Osgiliath and then go north. Once they near the falls, they plan on disembarking and traveling by land. If you leave tomorrow, you should be able to catch them within a week. The river journey takes three to four days as they have to fight the current."

"When did they leave?"

"About a week and half ago."

She sighed and looked at the land around them. Much of it she had seen on her journey with Frodo and Sam. It had been almost a week since they had gotten off the ship and rode along Emyn Muil. They were nearing the eastern edge of the Dead Marshes on its northern side and the end of Emyn Muil. Tomorrow, she knew, they would turn north and cross The Brown Lands to Mirkwood. Legolas told her that it was still another three weeks at least to his father's house. Two to cross the Brown Lands and another to get to the palace. Once they reached the edge of the forest, she would let Legolas lead. He knew that land far better than she would ever care to.

"You'll love it in Mirkwood. With the majority of the spiders gone, a measure of peace has crept back into our realm." Feywen rolled her eyes and ignored the prince. The more he spoke of her liking it in Mirkwood, the more she felt he was up to something and she didn't like the feeling. "You'll like winters there. It gets cold, but because the canopy is so thick, snow never falls. And,"

"But I like the snow." She mused. The hair on the back of her neck prickled. She sat up straighter and looked around. The elf continued talking. Feywen looked around her. She looked around for a hiding place. She didn't see any. She looked at Legolas's cloak. It was the one Galadriel had given him and the rest of the Fellowship long ago. They could hide, but there was no hiding their horses. "Legolas," she whispered. He didn't respond. She placed a hand on Nardin's hilt. "Legolas," she said, a little louder this time. He still didn't respond but kept talking. She nudged her horse next to his and slapped him in the back of the head.

"Yeow! What was that,"

"Hush." He fell silent as she dismounted and took her horse's reins in her hand. He followed her lead and they continued to walk on. She stopped every few yards, listening. Legolas watched and followed, slightly annoyed. He knew that it was impossible for them to be ambushed in the area they were currently in. "Get down!" He barely moved out of the way as the arrow flew past him. He turned and watched its path and saw a Dark Elf fall in its headlong race after them. Another arrow whizzed over his head. "Quit being an idiot and fight!" She yelled as a dozen or so Dark Elves finally reached them. She threw Nardil back onto the saddle and redrew Nardin and engaged the first Dark Elves. Legolas finally recovered from his shock and pulled out his long knives. He didn't miss the Elves suddenly dying even though neither the elf nor Feywen had attacked it. Five minutes later, all the Dark Elves were dead. Feywen walked over to her last opponent and pulled a piece of paper from his vest. "Capture the Lady Celebrant at all costs. She is to be unharmed. Kill anyone and everyone with her." She looked at the dead Dark Elves. "Over a dozen Dark Elves, just to capture me. Morgoth wants to ensure he is not killed. But why am I to be taken to him unharmed?"

"Who knows, Feywen? But he does not know that you are only a half-elf."

"And let's pray he never finds out." She turned to Legolas and mounted her horse as she tucked her arrows into her quiver. "Let's go. I want to be as far away from here as possible."

He looked at the bloody scene with a smile on his face as he fingered the arrow in his hand. It was one of Nardil's children. He knew Feywen. She never left the scene of a fight unless she had all of her arrows. The fact that she had left this meant that she knew he was not far behind. He could tell from the color of the blood, which he had expected to be black like an orc's, that the fight had happened a little over a week ago. "That's still too far behind. I need to reach them before they reach Mirkwood. I don't like what Celeborn's dream implies and what my own dreams have been telling me."

The past few nights, his sleep had been plagued with dreams of Feywen and Legolas standing at an altar. Legolas looked triumphant and Feywen had tears in her eyes. It was a forced marriage only he could stop. "And I will stop it. Feywen is my wife. We still love each other. Thranduil cannot ignore what the Valar has already smiled on."

"Hurry, if they were attacked once, they may be attacked again." Glorfindel nodded and mounted Shadowfax, placing the arrow in his saddlebag to give back to his wife later.

Feywen looked at the gate. It was made from the trees themselves. She dismounted and followed Legolas inside. They walked some distance before entering a grand room. Feywen set her face in an unreadable mask as they walked up to a throne made of branches. "Father, I have returned."

"I see that." Feywen kept her face blank. Thranduil's voice betrayed no emotion. "And what did you tell the King of Gondor."

"I have offered our help in light of new information."

"And what information is that?" Thranduil's piercing blue eyes examined her before returning to his son.

"The evil that they fight is not as strong as Sauron, but stronger. Lady Celebrant found his name in a journal of her aunt's. The enemy is Morgoth." Feywen saw fear kindle in the elf king's eyes as he turned his gaze to her.

"And who is this woman you bring before me? Another Silvan elf you wish to love."

Feywen stepped forward. "I am Lady Feywen Celebrant of the House of Celebrant. I am the Champion of Middle Earth returned from the Undying Lands to fight Morgoth. My grandfather is Lord Celebrant, the one who sealed Morgoth under Mount Doom for four ages of Men." Thranduil looked at his son and back at her.

"Welcome, Lady Celebrant, to Mirkwood. I am Kind Thranduil."
