Lillian

Jasper attended to my head in the Sanctuary before I headed back to the castle, I went straight to bed and I cried, I couldn't help myself. I don't know why I cried, I don't know why my heart yearned for Reaver, I didn't want to but I clearly did because here I was crying over him.

I awoke the next morning to a knock on my door "Come in" I mumbled, but it wasn't Reaver as usual it was Tina one of my maids "Master Reaver is waiting for you in the dining hall, he said your breakfast is almost ready" I nodded at her and she closed the door. Was this it, was Reaver now going to keep his distance from me, he usually woke me since the day he became my advisor. I got dressed and hurried downstairs to see Reaver, Logan and Marina sitting at the table, however Jasper was there also.

"May I have a private word with you" Jasper said to me the others looked on and I looked at Jasper "I don't mind them hearing whatever it is you have to say to me Jasper" Logan tugged at his Collar did he know what Jasper was going to say to me.

"Lillian I will ask you again may I have a word in private with you"

"God damn it Jasper just say it" I felt bad instantly, I had never ever in my life shouted at Jasper, Reaver and Logan put their heads down and Marina blushed.

"Very well" he said taking a deep breath, "Two urgent letters have arrived, one from… Captain Finn" I looked at him, I then looked at Reaver who was lighting a cigarette, he didn't care "The other is" he looked at Logan who nodded "Lillian, I will be honest with you here, you are at the age to court and start thinking about marriage" suddenly I heard Reaver choking on his cigarette I raised my eyebrow at him, "Excuse me" he said standing up and leaving the room "Who is the letter from?" I asked Jasper.

"Mr Colin Crouch" I looked at Logan then at Jasper "Never heard it?" I said, "He is a nobleman that lives in Millfields with his mother, his mother was acquainted with your mother and father, they got on very well, and I believe your mother and Mrs Crouch had some discussion of marriage"

"But I thought I was suppose to marry Elliot?" I said confused "Well he's now out the picture" Logan said bitterly, Jasper passed me the two letters "Please think about meeting Mr Crouch at least once Lillian, it may take your mind off other things" Jasper said smiling and then returning to the Sanctuary.

"So Marina you stayed the night" I said looking at her grinning, I didn't want the subject to be focused on me any longer, her cheeks went bright red "Marina stayed in the guest room last night Lillian don't be disguisting, have you been spending too much time with Reaver" suddenly I remembered Reaver had left the room, I stood up and headed outside the dining room.

"That girl is strange" Reaver said to Marina who just smiled at him.

I headed through the halls looking for Reaver, I don't know why, he probably didn't want to talk to me, and how correct I was, it wasn't until I reached the hallway to my bedroom that I saw a laundry basket lying in the middle of the hallway. "Tina" I mumbled kicking the laundry basket out the way. Suddenly I could hear giggling behind a tapestry followed by a moan. I didn't need to add the evidence up, I pulled the tapestry back and saw Reaver pinning Tina to the wall with one hand, the other was under her dress.

"Well, well, well" I said looking at Tina but not at Reaver, suddenly she pushed Reaver off her, "You're Majesty I'm so sorry, this isn't what it looks like" I raised an eyebrow "Tina, it is what it looks like, behind a tapestry with Albion's biggest whore, his hand up you're dress" Tina went to speak "You're fired" I muttered she looked at me tears in her eyes but I felt nothing, I watched her run down the hallways crying.

"You're Majesty I didn't know you could be so wicked" Reaver said looking at me, I didn't look at him "Come on I have letters to apply to, as my Royal Advisor we need to go to the study" I rushed down the hall and into the study Reaver not far behind me, I slumped into my chair and pulled out the two letters Jasper had given to me, I stared at Ben's writing. He always placed a love heart instead of a dot on top of the I, but this time there was no love heart.

"Want me to burn it?" Reaver said going to light his cigarette, I stared at him and shook my head "Want me to read it for you instead?"

"OF COURSE NOT" I snapped and Reaver just looked at me all smug "Shouldn't you go wash your hands or something after what I just caught you doing"

"Jealous?" Reaver teased I shook my head "Just so you know I wont be participating in any shooting lessons after that" I said looking away from Reaver "But my Cherie there's enough of me to go around"

"Don't mock me Reaver" I said looking down at the floor, he soon went quiet and I went back to looking at Ben's handwriting, I could hear Reaver sorting through other letters, did I really want to open it here in front of Reaver. I opened the drawer and placed the letter inside. I picked up the letter from Mr Crouch and took a deep breath. I opened it slowly unfolding the contents my hands feeling a little shaky.

Dear Lillian, her Majesty of Albion, our Queen.

I'm writing on behalf of my mother who would ever so much like to have a chat with you, our parents use to be very good friends, my mother feels it is a duty of hers to have a discussion with you on your parents views of finding you a suitor. You may know or not know that there was discussion between our parents on our betrothal, however I believe that we should have the choice in choosing our own destiny, saying this I would like to meet you personally and maybe have a courting session where we could see if our parents wishes may come true, hope to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely William Crouch.

I hadn't noticed it but Reaver was suddenly leaning over my shoulder his eyes scanning through the letter "Do you mind, this is private?" I said annoyed.

"Nothing is private between you and me Cherie" suddenly I felt Reaver rest his chin on the top of my head "What are you going to do about this"

"I guess what my parents want me to do, I don't mind meeting them, maybe seeing what this William is like, he could be really nice" I said as I folded the letter back up. "I see" Reaver whispered "Do you really want to get married Lillian, what about your adventures?"

"Well, I guess if I found the right companion we could go on adventures together, it would be nice to have friend" I heard the last word roll of my tongue "I thought we was friends" Reaver whispered again in my ear and I blushed.

"Yes Reaver we are friends, but we are just good friends who work together, nothing more, and one day I suppose I will have to marry, and our little world together will come to a end" I gave a small giggle and I felt Reaver move away from me.

"I guess you are right there my Cherie" he said walking back around to his chair, I pulled out my quill and got to work on my reply.

Reaver

I sat there watching her write her reply to William Crouch, I knew him yes, he lived in my area in Millfields, many called his mother a witch because she was always shouting at the kids looking for treasure in her grounds.

"Reaver do you think you will ever get married" I heard Lillian ask me as she still looked down at the letter she was writing.

"No my Cherie I don't believe there is anyone compatible to the likes of mwah, I also don't believe anyone could make me truly happy" she dropped her quill and looked over at me "You don't think anyone could ever make you happy"

"Lillian I don't think I could ever make anyone happy either" I said placing down my own quill.

"You make me happy" she whispered as she still stared at me, I was speechless that she would say that out loud to me "Me and you…" I started.

"It would never work right, imagine that, there would be a rebellion all over again" she started to laugh and I just smiled at her. That's right, if the two of us were to be married the whole of Albion would turn their backs on her for marrying a monster like me.

"I'm sure there are lots of people who would love to marry you Reaver, God knows there are people dying to be in your company" she said giggling, I stood up "Well that is true about people wanting to spend time with me" I began to walk towards the door.

Lillian

I watched as Reaver began to walk towards the door, I felt my heart tug slightly "But I think out of everyone, I enjoy spending my time with you Lillian" Reaver didn't look back at me, he gave nothing away, he showed no emotion, was it a joke? He opened the door and walked out and I took a breather.

"What's going on around here" I whispered to myself sinking back into my chair.

I didn't see Reaver for the rest of the day, I took Ben's letter out the drawer and headed back to my chambers, I opened the door to find Bandit asleep at the bottom of my bed, I sat down and stared at the letter.

"How can I possibly read this" I said feeling myself get upset, "What could It possibly say" I felt my hands go to the seal and undo the envelope slowly, I took the letter out of the envelope and unfolded it slightly my hands shaking as I did,

Lilly,

I know you probably do not want to see me ever again, and I understand that, I betrayed you in the worst way, I've left you alone in the world, when you needed me the most. I have gone up to Brightwall I'm renting a little cottage there to clear my own head, news has travelled that Reaver has become your advisor, very shocking for me indeed, I thought we were still friends, you could have asked me I would have been happy to take the position, but then I am a Captain and my written work isn't up to standard, haha. I miss you, I miss the way things used to be, the adventures we dreamed of having together, the future we had planned

Suddenly I felt someone snatch the letter out of my hand, I looked up and saw Logan looking at me, "Give it back!" I said to him standing up but he pushed me back down onto the bed, I watched as his eyes scanned the letter "DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THIS BULLSHIT?" he shouted staring at me, I stayed silent, "I'm burning this"

"NO" I yelled grabbing for the letter, me and Logan began to fight over it when suddenly he pushed me to the floor, "LEAVE HER ALONE" I watched as Reaver entered the room pushing Logan away from me snatching the letter from his hands, "GET OUT" Reaver shouted I saw him look down at me, I had tears in the corner of my eyes, I looked away from him. I heard Logan leave the room slamming the door behind him.

"You shouldn't let your big brother pick on you" Reaver said holding his hand out to me, but I didn't take it, I stood up slowly brushing myself down, Reaver held the letter out in front of me "You don't want to read it and mock my pain" I whispered.

"Never" he whispered back, "It's not my business" I finally looked up at him, I stared into his dark brown eyes, he pulled a small smile, "Want me to go beat your brother up" he chuckled.

"No it's alright" I said smiling slightly, "However, there is something I'd like you to do" I felt my cheeks go red, "Would you… stay here with me for the night?"

Reaver

"As you wish my Cherie" I whispered taking a step towards her, I dropped the letter and cupped her cheek pulling her towards me placing my lips on hers, It was a strange request, she never asked me to stay, usually it would just happen. She took a step back and smiled, she began to pull her clothes off, however I kept mine on, I blew the lanterns out and pulled Lillian into the bed sheets, I wrapped an arm around her and she nuzzled her face into my chest. "Thank you" she whispered, and she closed her eyes, her breathing was soft she relaxed completely and fell into a deep sleep.

Me on the other hand, I knew this was wrong, this wasn't my plan, this wasn't my future, it wasn't Lillian's either, she would soon be courted, and I would once more be alone.

I heard the dog barking like a psycho, I opened my eyes and I saw a shadow move across the room, Lillian was waking up slowly, "What's happening?" she whispered, I reached for my dragonstomper.48 "WHO ARE YOU?" I shouted, Lilly immediately woke up sitting up looking at the shadow in the corner of the room. The figure raised a gun and I pushed Lilly down as the bullet shot out I felt it pierce through my arm "Stay down" I whispered in her ear, I heard the window open and the figure left through the window, I quickly got up from the bed and rushed towards the window, suddenly the door barged down and I saw Logan standing there with two guards.

"WHAT THE HELL REAVER" I heard Logan shout at me, he turned to Lilly who was holding the bed sheets towards her, "Not now" I said leaning out the window "Someone has just tried to assassinate the Queen" The guards rushed to the window and saw the figure running through the grounds

"AFTER THEM" Logan shouted and the guards scurried out the room, the alarm bells were sounding and Logan just stared at me, he was angry, very angry. "Well, well little sister, it seems the game is up" Lilly looked at Logan annoyed, "It's not how it looks" she muttered,

"NOT HOW IT LOOKS YOU NAKED IN BED WITH ALBIONS BIGGEST WHORE" I chuckled, and Logan shot me a look, I reached for a cigarette in my trousers and sparked it up placing it in between my lips, "Okay so I might be in bed with Albion's biggest whore" Lilly said reaching for her clothes and pulling them on, "And you know what I don't care about it"

"YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT IT, YOU'RE USING HIM AS A REBOUND WHAT WOULD MOTHER SAY IF SHE KNEW YOU WAS"

"That's enough Logan" I said stopping him in his tracks, he was older than Lillian and I did not know if he knew my true identity that I was The Hero of Skill, the man that Betrayed their mother and tried to kill her twice.

"Mother isn't here" Lillian said looking at Logan tears in her eyes, "And if it wasn't for Reaver I wouldn't be here either, he just took a bullet for his Queen, and you're too busy worrying about whose naked with who, someone just tried to murder me" Lillian said suddenly getting angry. Logan once more quickly left the room, Lilly looked at me "Maybe you should go home" she whispered, I nodded slowly and grabbed my belongings still puffing on the cigarette, suddenly I felt Lilly wrap her arms around me, "Don't ever try to save my life again" she whispered, "My Cherie you think I'd let any harm come to your head"

"Only from your hand in the bedroom perhaps" she whispered once more, I turned to her, I took the cigarette placing it in-between two fingers, I bent down slightly, "If someone tried to kill you, I wouldn't have a friend in the world" I whispered, Lillian stayed silent and I left the room closing the door quietly.
