Tonks had spend the night listening to Sirius bragging about his maraunder's years for the millionth time. She quickly fell asleep on the couch feeling tired from worrying. Sirius had covered her with a blanket once he finished his story. He took his wand and brought out his dog shaped patronus.
" Find Remus and tell him to come home soon or I'll let him know how it feels to be threatened to get castrated! " As soon as he spoke these words, the patronus disappeared.
Remus quickly entered grimmauld place. He had been in a horrible mood since the meeting and Sirius made it only worse forcing him to come back. he had been in the nearby woods, walking and thinking about everything that had happened. Sirius' patronus had disturbed his thoughts. He wondered what could be so important, Sirius knew he needed some time alone when he's upset. He walked towards the living room when he saw Sirius sitting on the stairs in the hallway.
"What are you doing on the stairs? "
" I've been waiting for you, where have you been? "
" You couldn't wait in the living room like a normal wizard? " Remus knew he was being rude but he just really wasn't in the mood to face whatever trouble Sirius had created this time.
" Moony is moody! Well the reason I'm waiting here is because you will find a crying woman in the living room." Sirius spoke eyeing towards the door.
" What happened? Did something happen to the Weasley's? is Molly inside?" Remus forgot his angriness and wanted to move towards the door but Sirius stopped him.
" Tonks is in in the living room, she's probably still sleeping."
" Dora is here? Is she okay? Why was she crying? " Remus didn't wait for Sirius' answer. His worries took control and he pushed his friend away from the door.
He quickly entered the living room expected Sirius to follow him but he didn't. He was now alone in the room with a beautiful sad witch who was sleeping on the couch. He could clearly see she'd cried. Her eyes were red and swollen and even in her sleep she seemed sad. What had happened to his strong cheerful Dora? He quietly moved towards her. He noticed some space at the end of the couch, near Dora's head and sat down. now that he was close to her he could hear her mumbling.
"...no, not him... mmmm...please don't... "
It seemed she was having a bad dream. Remus felt confused whether to wake her or not. When he was about to wake her up, he heard another whisper leaving her lips.
"...please...don't hurt him... not Remus.."
He couldn't believe what he had just heard. Dora was dreaming about him. He felt a strange good feeling spreading through his stomach, even though he knew it wasn't a good dream. Tonks started to move in her sleep. Remus decided to wake her and relieve her from her bad dream. He softly lay his hand on her cheek and whispered her name.
"Dora, wake up"
Tonks startled awake, screaming Remus' name. Her face was covered in sweat and her eyes were blurry from the tears.
"Babe, I'm here. Everything is okay, it was just a dream." Remus gently wiped away a tear from her cheek. Tonks hadn't noticed Remus' presence until now. She quickly reached for him and felt his arms around him. She crawled inside his chest inhaling his scent that relaxed her whole body. Still she couldn't stop her tears from falling on his sweater.
"Dora please don't cry, everything is okay" Remus repeated himself. He couldn't stand seeing his Dora this way. He felt her grasp him even tighter.
"Dora tell me what's wrong please? I'm so worried." Finally Tonks spoke softly against his chest. she still didn't let go of Remus.
"Will you please stay with me for a while? I need you." Tonks looked up and finally their eyes met.
" If that's what you wish my dear " Remus gave her a sweet kiss on her forehead. He pulled Tonks closer to him. They stayed in this position for a while until Tonks broke the silence.
" I thought I had lost you" Again tears started to form in her eyes. Remus didn't understand what she meant.
" After you left the meeting I felt something was wrong. I went searching for you but I couldn't find you. I went back home and had a terrible dream about you. I came here hoping to find you but you were still gone. I started to believe the dream had been real. I ... I can't lose you Remus." Tonks stuttered and held on to Remus for dear life.
" This is why you were crying?" Remus was shocked. She had cried because of me? He had been thinking a lot about his relationship with Tonks, especially after he saw her dancing with Bill Weasley. He thought she might have changed her mind. He thought she finally realized the age difference between them and wanted to be with someone like bill. If this is true, why would she cry about losing him?
" Yes. I don't know what happened, I have never cried like this before. I was just so worried about you."
" Dora, I have to ask you something? I got really confused now "
" What is it?"
" Do you like Bill Weasley?" Remus couldn't control his voice from trembling. Tonks gave him a weird look.
" What are you saying Remus? "
"Please just answer me honestly? It's okay if you do " Remus forced himself to smile at her although fear was running through his body, fear of losing her to Bill Weasley.
" You stupid git! I've just told you I turned into a crying baby because I was afraid I lost you and now you ask me if I like someone else?!" Tonks moved away from Remus to look him in the eyes.
" Don't get upset please... It's just that I saw you dancing with Bill that night and I thought you might had changed your mind about me."
" Remus I was just dancing with him! How can you think this! Don't you know how much you mean to me?"
"It is hard for me to believe you do care about me considering you are way too good for me" Remus looked towards the floor as he spoke.
" You are perfect for me " Tonks had raised his head with her hand as she spoke. There eyes met and she noticed how Remus moved closer to her as if he wanted to kiss her but changed his mind half way.
" Dora I am old. I didn't plan to fall in love. I am too old to survive a broken heart. So if you have doubts about me, just tell me now? "
"I love you Remus, I won't break your heart " Tonks spoke as she held his hand firmly.
" Will you be mine, forever? " Remus asked looking straight into her brown eyes.
" Forever, my wolf " Usually he couldn't stand if someone called him a wolf or something that reminded him of his nature. But this sounded so sweet and innocent from his Dora, he loved it. He slowely moved closer to his Dora and kissed her gently. Finally he felt the familiar warmth of her lips again and he felt a fire starting inside his body. He felt her push her body closer to his. She wrapped her arms around his neck. Remus could no longer control himself and passionately bit her sweet lips. Tonks giggled and softly whisper in his ear " Is my wolf hungry? ".
" You're just too delicious to resist " He didn't allow Tonks to answer as he had melted their lips together again.
