Little bit shorter than usual, sorry! Okay, a lot shorter. Really sorry.
"So. Where next?" Dave glanced around the hallway that had become familiar far too quickly.
"Well, next should be my room, but we can go there last," Terezi had mostly forgotten about her scuffle with Nepeta after Kanaya's outburst.
"Sounds good."
"After mine would be Vriska's. You said you wanted to meet her, right?"
"Oh, right. Her..." he brushed his hair from his forehead out of a nervous tick, "Well, I'm not so sure anymore, actually."
"She's really not that bad, once you get to know her. She's mellowed a little since we got here."
"I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but most of your friends are kind of nuts!" he put a hand to her shoulder, "I thought she was crazy even before I knew all of them, which means she must be, what, completely wacko? I assumed she was in jail or something, maybe a mental institution. You've got to be kind of insane to kill someone over a game, don't you?"
Terezi frowned, considering his argument.
"You are partly right, I guess. She always was just a little crazy, but only by human standards. You have to understand that on our planet, we're expected to be violent and murderous. We're supposed to kill those who are too weak to defend themselves. Humans are just far more prone to compassion than we are."
Dave removed his hand.
"Then... Have you ever killed a person?"
"No, I have not. Vriska is a high blood, she's far more violent than I am, but she did have reasons for many of the deaths on her hands. I don't think you would understand them, but just know she did have them," Terezi ran her hand along the wall until she found her old teammate's door. It was easy to recognize, a large scorpio sign had been messily carved right into the wood with a knife, still splintery around the edges from never being sanded, "If you don't want to meet her, I get it. I would like to introduce you, but I won't force you. Okay?" Dave sighed and nodded.
"If you promise she's not a bitch, I guess I can stand a couple minutes around her," Terezi cackled.
"Oh, she's definitely a bitch. Come over here," she grabbed at his wrist and tugged him over, opening the door into a nearly uninterrupted darkness, disrupted only by a screen light in the darkest corner by the window with a thick black blanket covering it.
"Terezi? What are you doing in here?" a voice dragging with suspicion asked curiously. The computer's light went out with a metallic clank and a plastic snapping noise before Dave could catch a glimpse of the user, "Who's that with you?"
"This is Dave. He's my human friend from school," Terezi pushed Dave a little further forward by his lower back.
"Why'd you bring him here?" metal plates chinked against each other as the faint dark form in the corner shifted.
"I'm taking him to meet everyone. Get over here and introduce yourself!"
"Oh, fine," she dragged the second word out for an excessive amount of time as more metal noises overwhelmed the formerly quiet atmosphere, along with soft footsteps. The light was flicked on, startling Dave as he was suddenly given a full view of the infamous 'murderer for good reasons'. Her tangled hair was as black as any other Trolls', horns as red, orange, and yellow. Her eyes had the same yellow sclera as all of theirs', but somehow her one visible, smirking eye seemed far more sinister. The other was hidden by a dark glasses lens much like his own, but with thin silver wire frames instead of bulky black ones. Her spindly fingers pinched one arm of her eyewear and tugged them from her face, revealing a long, messy scar over where one eye should have been hidden.
Dave had to hold back a slightly disgusted choke of surprise when he saw the mangled side of her face. Had Terezi told him about this? No. He was certain she hadn't mentioned the horribly disfigured eye thing once.
"Don't just stare, asshole," she held up a plated metal hand and Dave chewed his lip, really, really wishing he had his shades to hide his terrified expression as he slowly lifted his trembling hand into hers and gave a weak shake. She smirked and gave his a nearly-bone-shattering firm squeeze before dropping it, "I'm Vriska. Pleasure to meet you, Dave."
"Yeah," he grimaced as he replied, clutching his own aching hand, "Terezi, can we go?"
"Why?"
"I.. Uh, I have to go to the bathroom."
"Alright, we can come back later or something. Bye, Vrisk-" Terezi nearly finished her sentence before Dave grabbed her arm and pulled her out, slamming the door as he felt the temperature change from the chilled, shadowy atmosphere they had been in to the room temperature goodness of the hallway, "That was rude, Dave."
"I don't want to admit it, but she scares me. I don't like her one bit, okay?"
"So... I'm assuming you don't need to go to the bathroom?"
"No, no I do not," Dave sighed, "Let's just move on?"
"Right, sure. If you're really scared."
"Oh, shut up," Dave rolled his eyes.
"Next would be Equius, but you met him a while ago," Terezi moved to the other side of the hallway, skipping two doors.
"You missed one."
"Oh, I know. We're definitely not going in there."
"Why not?"
"Gamzee," she shuddered slightly, "Is my kismesis, and I am not in the mood to talk to him right now."
"Your kismesis?" a door opened and slammed behind them, but Dave didn't look back to see who was in the hall with them.
"Yea-"
"Terezi!" a familiarly angry and loud voice growled and cut off her answer to the half-question, unexpectedly right behind Dave, making him flinch and spin on his heel.
"What the fuck, Karkat?!"
Urghh, bad ending spot! It's spring break and all, I really should have been working, but my friend and I just came up with this fantastic(I think, it probably isn't) AU, and I wanted to try writing a few things with that. Didn't do a very good job, but I needed to throw something down before I forgot it all, just like I forget everything else I come up with. Bluh. Hope you liked this chapter, though, some reviews might be nice? I've got a pretty good idea of what's going to happen in the next one, maybe two or three chapters, depending on how long I can carry one part out, but not a lot past there. If you've got some idea or something, I'd love to hear it!
