"So later? Well, alright. If you say so, Pumpkin," said Misty as looked at her aqua blue PokeGear. On the screen was Erika with a tired face and weaken smile. Misty could see that Erika was busy at work even if today was Valentine's Day.
"I do wish…To see you…It would be lovely but…," said Erika as she paused to let out a loud yawn. The lady was slow to cover the yawn. "I have just a bit…More work to do…Before our date."
"Alright, Erika. Just take care. I promise to come by later tonight for our thing," said Misty who gave a smile back. "Later!"
"Good bye…," said Erika before the screen went black.
Misty just stared at the device before she stuffed it into her jacket's pocket. She was glad that Erika was doing what she loved. Erika love her work with flowers but it pained Misty to see woman like this. Erika may never admit it but Misty knew that the florist has spent most of the past few nights on floral orders.
The swimmer would visit Erika first but the florist was adamant about their date to be later in the evening. She would try to argue with Erika but in reality, it would actually worked better with Misty if they meet later on. This Valentine's Day was one of the busiest days of the year for Misty too as she had three dates to go on.
"What can I say? People want a piece of me," smiled Misty as she ran a brush though her hair. She placed it on top of her messy dresser.
It won't be too bad though. Misty had gone on multiple dates before and it won't be the first time she has done it on Valentine's Day. These men were all rather cool and she liked the way they look. They could really lead to something thought Misty. It was all fun to her in the end. Why else would Misty even agree to do this? It was Erika who she was concerned about with how determine Erika was to stick to her work.
"Typical Erika," said Misty as she recalled Valentine's Days prior where Erika would rush though her orders and hope they were be good enough for the receiver. It was rather sweet but always pained Misty to see the florist work herself so hard.
Misty looked at the clock and saw that she had to leave soon if she wanted to be on time to her first date of the day. Misty didn't mind if she ran late but when the dates were lined up like they were today than it is best to not make the boys wait.
"Yeah, that is pretty cool," said Misty as she sat at the local Staryubucks. She held a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino in her hand and took a long sip from it. She tried to listen to her date's story. It was something about how he once attempted to climb over Rock Tunnel.
The man kept talking. Misty hoped that they would go somewhere else soon but it looked like the man would just offer her a free drink and a donut. It wasn't all bad but flowers would have been nice.
"So get this. I saved the best story for last," said the man to Misty.
Those last few words had reminded Misty of something. She remembered that Erika had said she left the most important arrangements for last. Erika stated the reason was because the flowers used for the last arrangements would be the freshest. She would use the best of her flowers that will last much longer than the arrangements made a few days before.
Misty figure that Sabrina and Janine would receive one of the last arrangements. Both were rather close to Erika. It was typical for the girl to give her best ones to her friends. Then, if Erika and she were more than just friends, it would mean that Misty could get the last one. Misty thought that would be rather cool and sweet.
Eventually the date had come to a close and Misty was alone. The guy was nice but he just went on about all the things he has done. The swimmer pulled out her PokeGear to see if there were any messages. She saw there were a few but none from Erika. Misty suppose that the girl was busy with work.
A few hours had passed and it was late afternoon. Misty was in a fancy restaurant where her date had pulled open a seat for her. She was clearly underdressed with her swimsuit and jacket combo. Her date was dressed in what was a collared shirt and slacks. He was polite to her the whole time. Misty thought he was sweet. The man reminded Misty of what Erika would be if she was a man.
"So, Erika just smiles and said we were all having fun and that is why it had caught fire," laughed Misty as she recounted a moment with her friends. "Then there was this one time that Erika wanted to learn about Gaga. That was a fun afternoon!"
"It sounds as if you are rather fond of Erika," laughed Misty's date. He took a bite from his steak. "If I didn't know better, it sounds as if you and she are rather close."
"What!" said Misty as spat out the meat that she had in her mouth. She took a long sip of her water. After a few gulps, Misty tried to process what the man had said, "No way! Erika and I are just friends! Yeah….Friends and stuff!"
The man chuckled a bit and believed Misty's statement. The two girls were indeed friends but Misty knew that it was much more than that. Misty was pretty sure not all friends do what Erika and she have done. Misty had to be careful not to talk too much about Erika during this date. That would be hard but an extra helping of steak would help with that. Something Misty would be glad to ask for if the guy was as loaded and generous as he has been so far.
Misty was now on her way to her last date of the night before her visit to Erika. She had a few steaks in her but could gladly eat more if her evening date was to take her out to eat.
It was not long until Misty was joined by a man. He was handsome and muscular. Just the way Misty liked her guys. It looked like Misty hit the jackpot this time. He came up to her and gave Misty a huge smile.
"Hey there, Misty. Sorry if I ran a little late," said the man as he had one hand behind his back. "But it was well worth it."
"Nah. I wasn't waiting too long," said Misty as she marveled at the man's good looks. "What you got there?"
"Just some flowers. I thought you would like them," said the man as he pulled out from behind him a dozen red Roses.
"Oh wow. That is pretty nice," said Misty as she took the flowers. "You shouldn't have…"
The man explained that it was the least he could do. Misty ignored most of what he said as she was instantly reminded of Erika. It was about something she once told Misty before. It was about how each flower was able to talk and said a specific thing. Misty didn't really understood but figured that each flower meant something.
"True love…," whispered Misty as she held on to the roses.
"What was that?" said the man who had bray heard what was said.
"Oh. Nothing. How about we go grab a bite to eat. I am hungry!" exclaimed Misty as she tried to push the thoughts of flowers talk from her mind.
Throughout the date, Misty wonder what Erika was doing. Erika was alone on Valentine's Day working on floral arrangements. Misty knew that guys would crawl all over Erika if she had given them the chance. Misty had heard people in Cerulean City talk about how pretty Erika was and Misty knew that from personal experience. The swimmer wonder if it Erika was bored to be alone on this day while Misty was out on dates. It would be hard to believe due to how much Erika loved flowers.
Misty ate to her fill and would have to agree with something Erika once said. Red roses are simply overused.
It was late at night and Misty drove down the streets of Celadon City. Valentine's Day only had less than two hours left but Misty was determine to do this before the day was over. She promised that they would have their date. Once again, Misty let a cute guy with food keep her longer then she had expected.
Misty made her way into the Celadon City Gym. It was quiet as Misty walked through the gym. Misty thought about where Erika would be. The petite florist would be at her work bench with a mess of flowers. Most likely she would be asleep with arms outstretched with an arrangement before her. Misty would slowly walk up to her to shake the girl awake. The florist would slowly wake up and the swimmer would give her a cheeky smile. It would then be followed by an apology.
Eventually Misty found her way to Erika and her workbench. Just like she thought. Erika was asleep with a colorful arrangement made up of all kind of flowers. Misty just gave a slight smile as she began to shake the girl awake.
"Erika! Hey, Pumpkin. I am here," said Misty as she awoke the kimono clad gym leader.
"Huh…?" said a sleepily Erika. She slowly raised her head up and looked around. Erika was more of a mess then Misty thought. Her hair was in disarray and her kimono was unkempt and slightly unraveled. Misty had to admit that Erika looked kind of hot like this. Erika's eyes slightly widen as a sleepy smile appeared on her face. "Mis…ty…!"
"Yeah. I am here. So, is that for me?" smiled Misty as she pointed at the arrangement.
"Hmm…Yes. It is…," said the sleepy Erika as she nodded slowly. "I made it with several flowers and even used Asparagus to keep it together….Fascination, it has kept me…bound ever since the day we first met."
"Wow. I had no idea you could use Asparagus in an arrangement," said Misty as she laughed a little. She then notice the roses. "Hey. No red Roses?"
"No…Instead I used yellow, white and light pink…To express the nature of our relationship…An undying love in secrecy filled with passion and desire," said Erika as she slowly yawn and nodded. "Red Roses are…Quite overused and misinterpreted…Instead I used, Red Carnations…My love is…More than just true love. Much deeper…."
"Oh…Well," said Misty who didn't understand completely what Erika had said but figure it was pretty cool. That was expected from her after all. "Thanks, Erika. Here is mines."
Misty bent down and grabbed a small flower from Erika's table. She placed it in Erika's hair next to her headband. Lastly, Misty gave a kiss on the soft lips that belonged to Erika. All kinds of floral scents enter Misty which made the moment even sweeter.
"Jasmine…Eternal love …," said Erika when their lips finally parted. Erika gave a slight yawn and said, "That may have been….The best part of today and maybe any other…"
"Heh. Shucks, Pumpkin," smiled Misty with a cool demeanor. She didn't want to admit it but that was pretty sly of her to do. Misty couldn't give flowers to Erika seeing that she was the flower expert. Instead, Misty could pull sweet moves like that and Erika would be happy.
"I suppose I should…Get ready now," said Erika as she was about to get up.
"Hold up there, Erika," said Misty as she stopped Erika. She took Erika by the arm and led her to a tree. "How about you rest a little bit. You must be exhausted."
"But Misty…It is rather late…," protested Erika as she was directed by Misty. Her face was slightly puffed up. "Our date…!"
"It can wait thirty minutes. I waited this long. I can wait a little longer for it. As long as you are rested," said Misty as she sat down under the tree. It was easy to make Erika sit next to her seeing how tired the florist was. She could see that Erika didn't like this idea but eventually the small girl looked as if she was going have to cave to Misty's demands.
"Just…Thirty minutes…," said Erika as she laid next to Misty. Eventually her head fell to Misty's lap. "Then…We can…"
"Yeah," said Misty as she ran her hand though Erika's dark locks of hair. "Just rest up Erika and then we can go."
"Mmm…Misty…," said Erika as she slowly began to doze off.
Thirty minutes had passes and Misty had Erika on her lap. The small woman was fast asleep. Misty had tried to wake her up but Erika wouldn't open her eyes. Misty didn't mind though. She just slump back and made sure to make things a little more comfortable for Erika and herself. Valentine's Day was coming close to an end and Misty was on the best date for the day with the person she loved the most.
