Lying in my room crying turned out to be much harder than I thought it would be. Something about crying over failed relationships made me feel far too alone in the world and to add to the hardship it became unreasonably stuffy in my room.
Standing up with sharp groans from my aching body I lifted my window. The task caused a sharp squeal from the old hinges, but it lead to a refreshing burst of air; however, the air also made bile rise in my throat and fear strike up my spine. I wiped my eyes sharply running down the stairs in a flurry of black.
"Gabriel do you smell that!" I shouted frantically running towards him.
"What?" he questioned.
"Where are the girls?" I countered running out to the back door. I could hear Gabriel telling his mom to wait in the living room.
"Girls!" we shouted out simultaneously.
All three ran to us sharply with scrunched up faces, but none could miss the tears in Isabella's eyes.
"Sweetie what happened?" Gabriel asked softly over my shoulder. I had crouched down to wipe away her tears. Isabella always had the best sense of smell.
"Something smells funny and we can't find Artemis! I'm sorry we didn't do as you asked," she looked at her feet sadly.
"Oh honey I'm just glad your okay," I assured with a sad smile.
"Girls go inside, now!" Gabriel growled out looking behind us. They looked up confused before conforming to their elder brother's request heading inside to their mother's arms.
I stood up from my crouch to survey all the corners of my backyard until my gaze landed on the place where Gabriel's also must have been because suddenly the world crashed around me and I couldn't breathe anymore.
Any thought I had ceased as the blood ran down in waves. But it wasn't my blood or any humans for that matter. It was Artemis my friend. The one living breathing thing that made me feel better about myself. The friend I had found in my darkest hour was gone and I suddenly felt more alone then I had before.
I had only walked about two feet off the deck when I felt my knees go out. I felt towers wrap around me once again and I so badly wanted to feel home, but I simply couldn't do that. I couldn't nuzzle deep in to the towers and feel safe because I wasn't sure I knew what safe was anymore. Safe had become this obscured word I had no way of understanding or feeling at all. Maybe it was for the best though. Maybe I didn't deserve to feel safe. I guess I had lost that privilege at some point in my life.
"Cyn, babe I think we have been here before." Gabriel whispered to me softly.
"I'm not sure this is going to end quite the same," I whimpered out just as softly.
"Cynthia we will find who did this," Gabriel assured rubbing my back soothingly.
"No, I have to...I have to go. I can't be here. The scent is just too strong," I mumbled out reaching my hand up to his shoulder to heave myself up. I could hear pack members who had yet to leaves gasps and apologies. Also Rudy's soft voice telling me they would clean this up before I got home. The pair of towers were removed and replaced by my uncle's arms.
"Forgive me," I croaked out to him before going inside to clean myself up and change. Blood was now stained into my favorite outfit along with the evident salty spots of tears. I felt stupid to think that I once thought whoever did this was a rouge from another pack. It was obviously written in blood that this was in fact personal. My senses were over whelmed with Blood and Stupidity.
You can't hide forever Little Queen Bitch. Who would say that? Why would they say that? I don't understand what I could have done that would be so bad. I breathed in deeply as my anger started to overtake and I felt my eyes flash red before I had the chance to hone in on my emotions.
As I neared the front door Bucky and Gabriel both approached me silently. I would be leaving with them to go help with communications at Gabriel's apartment. I tossed Bucky my keys so they could get in the car while I went to tell Rudy where I would be if he needed to contact to me.
After telling Rudy and getting a comforting hug I headed out the, meaning I passed Viv.
"Cyn, wait I-"
"No, I can't do this with you right now. I'm running on autopilot here and I just can't." I said frantically walking away towards my car. I froze at the sight before me. Why was Aiden's best friend walking down my street?
I opened my car door and sat there listening to Viv and Peter's conversation ignoring the questioning looks from Gabriel and Bucky.
"You know, I liked you at first," he said, "but you're a real two-faced bitch." Peter crammed some paper into the pocket of his baggy shorts and retreated down the sidewalk. What was on that paper?
"Hey Peter, wait up!" I shouted after him. Okay yes I am mad at Viv, but I still didn't want her to do anything stupid. "What did you show her?"
"God Cyn can't you just leave it alone? I know what you said to Tyler the other night and you," he ran a hand through his hair with frustration "you can't always protect her. She isn't worth it."
"Look I'm not asking you to understand, but she is my family. Peter please just what did the letter say?"
"Who said I read it?" he defended. I simply raised my eyebrow. "Okay, okay it said for her to meet Aiden tonight at 2 by the rocks down next to the river. That is all I know."
"Thank you," I told him with a smile.
"She doesn't deserve you Cyn."
"Maybe she doesn't, but she is stuck with me," I climbed into my car with a wave. "You two ready to leave?" I asked looking at the two men in my car. They both simply nodded their heads.
The drive to the apartment was short and quiet. It seemed no one had anything to say. Once we arrived the two dispersed to start making plans on how to keep an eye on everyone.
"Where is your computer?" I asked.
"It's in the bedroom, why?" Gabriel responded pointing to the door.
"Well if I'm not mistaken some of the routes that are being patrolled are in the line of vision of these new security cameras the city put up."
"And you can access the feed?" Bucky questioned.
"It shouldn't be that hard," I shrugged.
"Okay let's see what you can do." Gabriel led me to his computer silently.
The laptop was rather new which surprised me slightly. I never really thought he was big on electronics.
It took half an hour to hack into the cameras, but it worked. Gabriel and I now sat around the laptop waiting for Bucky to get back with pizza.
"I'm sorry about tonight. We agreed not to talk about our relationship ever again and I went told the entire pack. Astrid just gets to me sometimes." I told him softly.
"Don't worry. Besides it was about time everyone finds out."
"Yea," I nodded my head.
"You know I never slept with her or your aunt for that matter."
"What are talking about?" I was now completely confused.
"I haven't slept with anyone since we were together."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"Because I want you to forget, to actually forgive me," He said crossing his tight muscular arms.
"I don't want to talk about this."
"But we need to." He pressed.
"NO!" I told him sharply walking away from his desk and putting the bed between us.
"I lied," he admitted walking towards me.
"Please just stop," I begged him sadly.
"There wasn't another girl alright? I didn't break up with you because I wanted, loved, someone else."
"What are you saying?" I asked as I realized I had backed myself into a wall.
"I'm saying I lied. You always said if I cheated on you or made a mistake something like that to lie. I lied."
"Why, why would you do that?"
"You were supposed to tell Vivian about us that day, but instead you two got in a fight over the way she was treating Rafe. Back when he was still like a brother to you and she was hung up on Axel."
"What does that matter?" I cried out getting frustrated with the past.
"It matters because I thought you were ashamed of us! I thought you were afraid about what people would think! I lied because I loved you and I didn't you to feel guilty."
"Now you are definitely lying. Look I will be your mate and yes I will be reluctant, but you don't have to lie!"
"I'm not okay? I love you! I never stopped."
"Why are you doing this to me?" I slipped down the wall gripping the bedside table for support.
"I never wanted to hurt you. I love you Cynthia. I think I always have. Since I first saw you in your true form maybe. That day in the park just cemented for me."
I suddenly couldn't breathe I was confused and hurt. Somewhere along in my confusion I pulled a folded picture off the table. The back was signed in a neat script with words happy birthday Gee. I had taken the picture on Gabriel's 18th birthday. His arms were wrapped around my waist pulling me into him and his lips were pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. We were both happy and laughing. It hurt to see, but it seemed to hurt even more knowing that we could have still been like that. What had I done?
My phone went off with a text from Ulf. Get to the old small ruined building that used to be part of some Sanitary Commission station at one time bring Gabriel.
"Um I'm so sorry, but we have to go."
"Of course," he nodded sadly.
"I-"
"Its okay love," he assured me with a smile and a caress to my cheek. I smiled back kissing his cheek before grabbing my jacket as we rushed outside.
When arrived there I almost cried at the sight before me. "Vivie no," I ran to her quickly as she collapsed. I pulled her face into my chest rubbing my hands through her hair whispering to her quietly.
"Vivian," Ulf cried again. "It wasn't you." His face was streaked with tears. Of course it wasn't!
"Shhh sweetie it's okay," I soothed her leading Viv to the lake. She sipped in softly removing her clothes slowly. "Ulf can I borrow your shirt."
"You don't hate me?" she questioned meekly.
"Oh baby, of course not! You are the closest thing to sister I have ever had and sure we fight, but Viv I can never hate you," I admitted with delicate smile.
"What does Ulf mean, it wasn't me?" she asked as she emerged dripping from the river and threw on his shirt. Gabriel and I looked at him expectantly, still not knowing ourselves.
"Tell them," Willem ordered his hand on Ulf's shoulder.
Ulf lowered his eyes and bit his lip. "Astrid came home with a meat-boy tonight," he said in his quiet, high-pitched voice. "She and Rafe thought I was out but I went back for my sleeping bag and some comic books, and got sidetracked reading an old Sandman. Then I heard Mom come home with Rafe making a bunch of noise. I thought they were drunk and I ignored them until I heard a cry. I looked out my door and saw them kill him."
Oh for the love of the moon it was Astrid. That bitch was about to get a close up of my teeth.
Okay this story is coming to an end. Ugh teardrops! However I do want to make a sequel that I will simply put on this story but I want really post any of it til July. I would love to hear any of your ideas for said sequel.
Until then I have two options for stories I can write til July. First we have a Teen Wolf fan fiction with a Derek/OC. This will actually be two stories written simultaneously one right after the fire that killed most of Derek's family when the two would first meet. The romance in that one will be slow burn, but the second one will be right when the first season ends and take place during Derek and the OC's marriage. I have never written or read anything like that so it really interests me and I want to give it a shot. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE WATCHED THE SHOW TO READ THIS!
OR a Jasper/OC(twilight) taking place fifty years after Breaking Dawn. Alice and Jasper were never together. The family moves back to town were they find a family of witches fighting demons who have taken up residence in Forks.
I would love you guys opinion so please review with you thoughts.
