Day 13
Late Afternoon
The next day was spent mostly relaxing for the teens. As it was their last official day, most of them did not want to move from their spots in their tents. They were finally content in each other's company.
It was definitely certain that Mr Shuester's plan had worked, for the most part. The Warblers and the New Directions were finally able to move past their petty rivalry and find their similarities.
The first people to emerge from their tents were Mike, Thad, Finn, Sebastian, Nick, Puck, Sam and Santana at exactly 3:15pm, dressed in the fanciest suits they owned (well, Santana was wearing her usual red dress). Unbeknownst to Tina, Mike and Thad had struck a deal with everyone in the camp, meaning that they were to stay in their tents until Mike had finished with his 'big plan'.
Together, the aforementioned teens cleared up the camp fire until it was absolutely spotless. Santana and Nick spent a lot of time collecting beautiful grey coloured rocks to circle around the vast fire pit while Puck spent an even longer while trying to properly arrange the sticks for the fire.
They were really going all out for this plan.
In the meantime, Mike and Thad set up a small table for two, complete with a pure white table cloth and set with beautiful red napkins and intricate china plates and Finn, Sebastian and Sam set up a small stage.
It was all perfect. They had been planning this until around 1:00am that morning while Mercedes and Artie, as Tina's newly re-found best friends, desperately tried to keep her from prying or asking questions. That was still going on now, actually.
Mike was so excited; he had everything planned out to the very last rock. He was practically bouncing where he stood by the table when Thad clamped a tough hand down on his shoulder at 4:59pm. "One minute to go! Hey, you okay there Ninja?" He asked as the rest of the group of boys (and Santana) had taken their positions on the compromised stage, while the others all peered out of their prospective tents. It was just starting to fade into darkness outside, and the sky was a perfect mix of purple and blue above the canopy of trees.
Mike swooped around to grin at his friend, "I'm fine, not nervous at all, honest!"
"Sure seems like it…" Thad chuckled, "Look, it's going to be okay, man. She's gotta be an idiot not to take you back."
"I, uh, thanks man. You know, for giving me another chance." Mike gave Thad another sheepish smile and shuffled his feet. Thad smiled back and wrapped his arms around Mike in a tight hug.
"Don't go all girly on me, dude." Thad muttered into his ear.
Mike laughed, "You hugged me, man! Plus, I'm serious; if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even be fighting to get her back now."
"Alright, alright, I accept your thanks!" Thad laughed, pulling out of the hug, "Now stop being a sap!"
Mike mocked a salute, "Yes sir!"
Thad gave Mike a curt nod before leaving Mike at exactly 4:00pm to knock on the side of Tina's tent.
"Who is it?"
"It is me, madam."
Tina's head popped out of the tent, "oh…it's you."
Thad smiled at her and extended his arm, "If you would like to follow me Madam?" Tina raised her eyebrow but said nothing, taking a hold of his extended arm and letting him lead her to the little table. "If you would like to take your seat, Madam." Thad yipped, allowing Mike to take her arm from him.
As Thad walked away to take his spot on stage, Mike turned to Tina with a smile, "Hey you." He whispered.
"Hi." Tina whispered back, breathlessly.
"Would you like to take a seat, beautiful."
"It would be my pleasure," Tina giggled as Mike pulled out a chair for her and tucked her in. Slowly, he moved back around the table to take his own seat and grab Tina's hand, rubbing the back of it slowly with his thumbs.
"Tina, I know that you are so, so angry at me right now…but I couldn't bear to just let you go without a fight. Tina, I love you with all my heart and I know that you feel the same about me. This past year we've had together has been…well, the best of my goddamn life. I'm nothing without you, you're my Tina-bear!" Mike smiled, "Now, uh, the plan was to make you a romantic dinner, but we kind of forgot to cook it," A laugh escaped Tina's lips as tears pooled in her eyes. "So, we'll just have to move on…" Mike turned and nodded to the group on stage and Nick, Thad and Sebastian began a familiar beat in warbler like fashion. "Would you like to dance, Tina?"
As soon as Tina nodded, Mike jumped to his feet and pulled her to hers. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her as close as possible as Finn began to sing.
"Give me love like her, 'cause lately I've been waking up alone, paint splattered teardrops on my shirt, told you I'd let them go," Finn smiled at Mike happy to help his friend.
Sam stepped forward to sing the next line with a grin gracing his enormous lips. "and that I'll fight my corner, maybe tonight I'll call ya, after my blood turns into alcohol, No, I just wanna hold ya." Mike smiled down at Tina and twirled her around. Tina grinned back at him, her face wet with falling tears.
It was Santana's turn to sing. She gave a cheeky wink in a watching Wes' directions before falling into her verse. "Give a little time to me or burn this out, We'll play hide and seek to turn this around, All I want is the taste that your lips allow,"
The three aforementioned singers and Puck chimed in in harmony, "My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love."
"Give me love like never before, 'cause lately I've been craving more, And it's been a while but I still feel the same, Maybe I should let you go," Puck sang next, as Mike dipped Tina and kissed her forehead before pulling her back up once more.
Sam chimed back in, "You know I'll fight my corner, And that tonight I'll call ya, After my blood is drowning in alcohol, No I just wanna hold ya."
"Give a little time to me or burn this out, We'll play hide and seek to turn this around, All I want is the taste that your lips allow," Santana took the lead again.
The three boys harmonized again, "My, my, my, my, oh give me love,"
Santana smirked as Mike and Tina started to dance more comfortably "Give a little time to me, or burn this out, We'll play hide and seek to turn this around, All I want is the taste that your lips allow,"
The four all harmonized together once more. "My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My my, my, my, oh give me love."
"M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover." Mike lifted Tina into the air and span her around as the song came to an end.
Mike smiled down at Tina, "I love you, Tina."
Tina wiped some straying tears from her eyes, "I love you too, Mike. I'm so sorry I've been acting so bitchy recently…I guess I was just stressed out. I'll never treat you like that again, I promise you."
"That's all I needed to hear, Love." Mike said, leaning down to give Tina a peck on the lips as the whole group cheered, whooped and wolf-whistled in excitement.
"Well, we know what we have to do now don't we?" cried Santana as she stepped off of the compromised stage.
"What?" Asked Millie, she and the others stepping out of their respective tents.
Santana gave her signature smirk, "We drink!" She said with a laugh, "Obviously."
Wes smiled at his girlfriend, "and what do you suppose we drink?"#
"Alcohol, duh, Puck hook us up!" Santana smiled at her now Mohawk-less friend.
"How did you even know?" Puck laughed, moving to his tent to reveal a crate of beers, "I also have a couple bottles of wine for you ladies." He quipped winking at Rachel.
His fellow Jew scoffed, "Oh please…I want beer!" She cried and was met with a bunch of cheers from the guys.
The teens shared out the alcohol, laughing and joking with each other as they went. They drank and they drank through the rest of the day, deciding that the best thing to do on their only unsupervised day was to drink to their hearts content, taking advantage of the time to stay with their significant others and their friends.
Admittedly a lot of time was spent with the hormonal teenagers…otherwise occupied, but I won't delve too deep into that.
As the stars appeared in the sky, the teens all laid out on the grass, playing games with each other.
"Puck, truth or dare?" Rachel asked from where she rested across Nick's muscular torso.
"Truth." He said, too comfortable to move. Besides, he had his boyfriend asleep in his arms, he couldn't do much.
"How long have you been gay?" Rachel asked, "Sorry if that sounds mean, I'm just curious." She added hastily.
"Uh, well my first guy crush was Kurt about a year ago," Puck answered, "But he turned me down, so I guess it was then."
"Wait a sec, Kurtis knew?" Santana growled ("Don't call me that." Kurt complained half-heartedly from somewhere near Blaine) "I'm your best friend, how comes you didn't tell me?!"
"Well, I was scared and Kurt knew what I was going through so, uh, it was easy to tell him…you scare the crap out of me!" The two teams laughed at the scolding look Santana gave him.
"I'm not scary!" she growled, and Puck raised his hands in defeat.
"WES!" he cried, laughter lacing his voice, "Truth or dare?"
Wes smirked at his unamused girlfriend, "Dare."
Puck chuckled, "I dare you to kiss David, man," he said to the flabbergasted Asian, "you two are too close for there not to be even the slightest of feelings there." He added as explanation to the weird looks the teens were giving him.
"What?" Wes demanded, "There's nothing going on between us…I have Santana, he has Brittany, we're not…"
"You forfeiting, Montgomery?" Puck asked with a grin, as the other, unaffected teens began to snicker at the poor, shocked Asian.
Wes frowned at Puck's inquest…he NEVER backed down. Surely the New Directions had figured that out after the numerous amounts of arguments he had refused to give up on. "Of Course not!" He protested, suddenly leaping to his feet and crossing to a slightly giggling David (who, apparently, could not hold his alcohol very well) and kissed him full on the mouth.
Wolf-whistles and cheers erupted through the teens as David, too drunk to notice who was kissing, responded to Wes rather…enthusiastically. However, once David tongue found it's way into the mouth of his perplexed best friend, Santana lost her nerve. "Hey Honey!" she said to David, pulling Wes away from his friend, "Wes is my boyfriend. No me gusta!"
The whole group roared in hysterics at Wes' shocked and almost disgusted face, and David's slightly confused and disappointed face, as Santana pulled her boyfriend closer to her possessively.
The laughter only increased as Brittany suggested, "Hey Santana, maybe now we can have that foursome we always talked about?"
"And on that note," Rachel diverted as the laughter died down, "I feel that it is time for us all to take our leave and retreat back to the confines of our own personal tents. After all, we have a long day tomorrow of repacking and journey's home and finally a long tearful farewell as we realise that we won't ever be able to see each other as much after that one moment that-" Rachel's self-conscious rant was cut off by Nick's lips crashing against hers.
"Hey," he said softly as they broke apart, "less words, okay?"
I know it's short but these two chapters are mostly just going to be me tying up loose ends in the story lines and thus, will only be as long as the endings to the character's stories themselves, AKA not very long. THERE'S ONLY ONE CHAPTER LEFT NOW! I'm so excited to share it with you!
