Standing by the gates, listing to the Day Class girls scream was always the bane of my day. Their voices were shrill and irritating. I could usually ignore them, but today I woke with a migraine and it had put me in a very unforgiving mood. However, as a Pureblood, I had to set an example to the other Night Class students. Plus, Kaname wouldn't let me skip class.

I stood next to my brother with my arm interlocked with his. I had my other hand to my forehead and my eyes were closed, the setting sun causing the pain to sharpen. I felt Kaname move me to stand in front of him and he placed a soft hand to my cheek. "Your head is still bothering you?" He asked quietly. I nodded and placed my head against his chest.

He placed a small kiss to the top of my head and used his healing power to give me some relief from the pain. I sighed as the pounding ebbed away into a slight discomfort, looking up at him with a small smile. He smiled back and gave me a quick but loving kiss.

We pulled away and I took my spot by his side as the gate started to creak open, the screaming getting louder now that they were able to see us. Hanabusa was first to walkout, greeting the girls in a flirtatious manner like always. "Good evening ladies did any of you dream of me last night?" He asked the screaming girls.

"I did!" most of them cried, vying for his attention. Yuki's shoulders slumped as her classmates went crazy, causing Hanabusa's attention to turn to her. "Wonderful. So then tonight I shall make a little detour and invade Yuki Cross' dreams." He pointed a finger at her yelling, "You're it!"

Yuki leaned back with a shocked look on her face. I raised an eyebrow at her awkward behavior, 'she knows how Hanabusa is, so why does she still allow his antics to bother her?' The other girls seemed to be very displeased with Hanabusa's declaration and were quick to voice it.

"Hey, why'd you pick Yuki?"

"Me too!"

A mix of voices cried different things, "Wait a minute, Hanabusa- "Yuki started before the mob of girls pushed her aside, she started to fall before an arm reached out and caught her. I had felt Kaname tense, getting ready to be the once to catch her, but I tightened my grip on his arm, preventing him from doing so. I looked over at Zero when Yuki had leaped forward and turned around to bow. "I'm so sorry Kana- "She stopped when she realized that Kaname had not been her savior.

"Exactly what are you doing, Yuki?" Zero sighed and placed his hands in his pockets. You could feel the disappointment and tension rising from the Day Class girls when they realized Zero was back. I observed his posture, and his aura, trying to see if I could sense anything wrong with him. He seemed to be okay, considering how he was the last time I had seen him.

Yuki's shocked eyes and silent disposition at Zero's presences caused me to roll my eyes in annoyance. "You should thank those who save you Yuki. I never thought you to be rude" I said coldly towards her, causing those around me to turn and look at me with shocked eyes. I could feel Kaname's eyes narrow at me but right now I didn't care. I could only look at the girl whose existence was quickly becoming a hindrance to me. I didn't see her as my younger sister, nor as the little girl who looked up to me. I only saw the girl who was trying to take Kaname away from me. The Day Class girls started to whisper.

"I've never seen Keiko so angry towards Yuki."

"Yeah, her and her brother always seem to be extra nice to Yuki"

"What did Yuki do to offend her?"

Yuki seemed to snap out of her daze and bowed towards me with a blush. "Uh- I'm sorry Keiko! I was not trying to be rude!" She then turned to Zero and bowed to him, but she still said nothing. "Yuki" My voice rose slightly, anger clear in my tone.

"Alright enough, now go back to your dorms." Zero interrupted and started waving the Day Class girls away. The girls started to whine and complain about Zero. "Zero, welcome back" Yuki said, finally speaking to the silver-haired boy. Zero turned to look at her as the rest of us walked past them, now that the Day Class girls were gone.

I stared at the two from the corner of my eyes as Kaname and I walked past, slowing down before Kaname gave a sharp tug on my arm. I looked up at him and saw the anger in his eyes he was trying to hide from those around us. "We will talk later" He said quietly before facing forwards, the calm look once again coming to his features.

I looked forward as well and schooled my face into a neutral expression, showing neither annoyance, anger, or happiness. The walk to the school building was silent between the two of us. The other Night Class students talked quietly among themselves, but I saw Hanabusa and Ruka sending, not so sneaky, glances towards Kaname and I.

They both jumped and turned to each other when they saw that I had caught their glances. "What's with all this 'invade your dream' stuff? Its ridiculous" Ruka scuffed at Hanabusa, flicking her hair over her shoulder.

"Well, if you appeared it would be a nightmare." Hanabusa shot back casually. Ruka turned around in front of him and placed her hands on her hips.

"What was that?" She snapped.

"You know, I admire that about you Hanabusa" Akatsuki's deep voice broke in.

"And just what does that mean?" Hanabusa asked with a hard tone.

"You always manage to play your role perfectly, and I'm sure that's no easy task" Akatsuki said with a smirk causing Hanabusa to look shocked and then look down when Kaname and I walked past them.

When we arrived too the classroom, everyone sitting in their usual seats. Kaname leaned against the wall by the windows, a book in his hand. While I sat in the chair in front of him, resting my chin gently on my hand and examining my red nails. Everyone was chatting amongst themselves before Kaname interrupted.

"Listen, everyone, will you all do me a favor?" Everyone silenced and looked towards him, while I kept my eyes on my nails. "The Senate will come looking for Zero Kiryu soon and I want all of us to intercede before they take actions against him. Can you do that?" Kaname asked and they all put their hands over their hearts, a sign of their loyalty to him.

I glared at him from the corner of my eye, not liking that he was still using Zero's life as a pawn. "With pleasure, Lord Kuran" they students said together. The only ones who seemed to have doubts was Ruka, Hanabusa, Akatsuki, Senri and Rima.

"Lord Kaname, are you sure?" Ruka asked gently, Kaname looked at her but said nothing.

"Are you questioning my brother Ruka?" I asked in a dull tone, not bothering to look at her. "Never, Lady Keiko." She responded politely. The teacher walked in and everyone too their seats, Kaname's favor weighing on everyone's mind.

I scribbled in my notebook, not caring to pay attention to the lesson. My mind drifting away, thinking about the silver haired boy. 'Zero clearly loves Yuki, why does Kaname not just let him have her? Kaname has me, does he really need Yuki too?' My eyes narrowed as jealously shot through me at the thought of brunette nuisance.

'I can't do anything against Yuki, Kaname would never forgive me if I did, I can't risk losing him. Perhaps I could give her a push towards Zero and away from Kaname? She would not be harmed that way, it would be as if she made her decision purely on her own.' A strange scent entered my nose and it pulled me out of my thoughts.

I looked at my brother to see him looking out the window and I knew it was time for his favor to be put into action. Kaname turned to me and held out a hand, helping me rise gracefully from my seat. We started walking toward the door, the other Night Class students following our lead.

Our group quickly made it to a clearing, seeing Zero and Yuki surrounded by vampires from the Senate. Yuki had her Artemis rod in her hands and Zero stood next to her, facing the opposite direction of her. "Go on, this has nothing to do with you." I heard him say to Yuki.

"I won't do that." She responded stubbornly. Kaname and I turned to the other students and nodded our heads, they all vanished and appeared surrounding the Senate vampires. One of the Night Class students threw a senbon and killed one vampire, drawing their attention to us. "It was inevitable for Shizuka to be hunted down by Zero for what she did." Kaname addressed the Senate vampires.

Zero and Yuki looked at us shocked, and the Senate vampire bowed respectfully, with their hands over their hearts, to Kaname and I. "Lord Kaname, Lady Keiko." They said. I narrowed my eyes at the remaining two, anger simmering under my skin.

"Tell us, why do you feel so strongly about Zero's execution? To protect the so-called sanctity of purebloods." Kaname said.

"Lord Kaname, Lady Keiko, if a pureblood, such as yourselves stands in our way, we cannot complete our mission." The blonde one said, still in a bow.

I raised an eyebrow at his statement, "So you would ignore pureblood such as us in favor of the Senate?" I asked in a threating tone. His eyes snapped to me, and a shiver seemed to go down his spine.

"Perhaps you don't realize this Academy is very dear to us. I don't want it spoiled for us by foolish acts of vengeance, performed by the Senate's henchmen." Kaname said in a tone that mirrored mine. His eyes turned into their beautiful shade of glowing red and caused the blonde's shoulder to explode.

The bald one turned to his companion in shock, I could sense his fear coming off him in waves. "Leave now, or my brother and I will kill you." I demanded.

"Your choice to protect Zero Kiryu will be reported back to the Senate, Lord and Lady Kuran." The blonde said in a grimace before they both vanished in red smoke. Kaname walked towards Yuki and Zero, while I decided to hang back next to Takuma.

"Are you alright?" Kaname asked, looking at Yuki. Yuki said nothing, allowing Zero to voice his question.

"So Kaname, why'd you save me?" He asked in a suspicious tone. Kaname looked down to see Yuki grasping Zero's sleeve and I saw his back tense up.

"Because I simply will not tolerate the execution of a school mate by foolish members of my race for groundless reasons." Kaname said, looking Zero in the eye. Zero looked for a moment before closing his eyes and walking away. Yuki losing her grip on his jacket. She ran after him calling his name once, before stopping and turning around to look at us.

I walked up next to Kaname and pinned her with a hard stare. She bowed quickly and locked her hands together in front of herself. "Thank you both very much."

"It's fine." Kaname responded.

"No, thank you. But still, there is absolutely no reason why Zero should be targeted for this." She insisted with a solemn look.

Kaname looked at her gently, "Yes, I know that. Don't worry." He stepped closer to her and went to place a hand on her cheek, but she stepped away from him. My eyebrows shot up in surprise, but a smirk crept up to my lips before I could stop it. 'Maybe I didn't need to lead Yuki to Zero after all. She might drive Kaname away all by herself.'

"No! You don't understand!" Yuki said loudly to Kaname.

"How dare you speak to- "I heard Ruka say before Takuma's gentle voice interrupted her. "Now, now. Alright, everyone, its time you go back to the classroom."

"But Lord Kaname was- "Ruka started again, this time being interrupted by Hanabusa.

"Let's go." He said deeply, walking away with some of the other students following. Takuma hung back and walked over to me, "are you staying here? I will walk you back to the classroom if you wish Keiko." He asked me gently.

I turned and gave him a small smile, "thank you Takuma for the offer but I will stay here with Kaname and Yuki." He nodded his head, sending a quick look towards Kaname and walking off.

"Just what is it that I don't understand?" Kaname asked looking down at the upset female.

"That Shizuka was hunted by Zero. Its wasn't him. He didn't have anything to do with it" Yuki defended.

"Yuki, I have no intention of making Zero a villain. Please believe that." Kaname closed his eyes.

"Then say it. I want you to say you realize that Zero isn't the killer." She demanded, taking half a step towards him. I crossed my arms, and stuck one hip out, but kept my maroon eyes glued to the two people standing before me.

"Sure. If you say it's true, then I concede it." Kaname agreed to her, trying to calm her anger towards him. Yuki huffed and looked at him with her wide eyes, that were different than mine and Kaname's narrow ones. 'Does he like the innocent look her eyes give her? She does look far more innocent then I do. However, I had more of a womanly look then she did. Which did Kaname like better?' I asked myself, the insecurity started to bleed into my mind.

"Come on, I'm serious." She pouted.

"And I have always been serious about you." Kaname said and I hissed in jealously at his sweet tone. He looked at me from the corner of his eyes for a few seconds before turning back to Yuki when she spoke again.

"Zero is not the guilty one." She pleaded once again. I sighed and adjusted my stance once more, deciding to intercede on the conversation.

"Yuki, enough. This conversation is going nowhere, Kaname has told you where we stand. Be an adult and accept that." I scolded, and she turned to me with a frown.

"But- "

"No more, Yuki." I said firmly, she looked at the ground before defying me and speaking once again.

"I don't care if this goes nowhere. Until you say Zero is innocent, then I—then I won't ever speak to you two again!" She declared and ran off the direction Zero headed towards before. I rolled my eyes at her childish behavior before looking at my brother who was staring at her retreating form.

I let out a condescending snicker. "Trouble in paradise, Kaname dear?" I teased maliciously. He turned to glare at me and blasted a hole in the tree next to my head. I narrowed my eyes and him and went to smack him before he caught my wrist in a harsh hold.

"How dare you threaten me with your powers?" I hissed angerly. His eyes still held their glare, but he staid silent. "I am your equal! Your finance, or have you forgotten while you were staring in her big brown eyes? Well, Kaname?" I asked in a snarl. He let go of my wrist and in the blink of an eye he had me pinned to a tree, his arms on either side of my head blocking me in.

"Calm down, I was only acting as a brother would for an upset sister" He said, and I scuffed at his lie.

"I'm not stupid, I know how you feel about her. How do you think it makes me feel, Kaname? I must watch you give her your affection like she is your main priority, but what am I? Am I just a pawn for you? How would you feel if I put you in second place and gave Zero my affection?" I questioned angrily, glaring into his eyes.

One of his hands dropped and grabbed my waist in a harsh grip, pulling me closer to his body. "You are my fiancée, and I love you. Your affections are for me alone, just as mine are for you. If I see you give them to Zero, I will punish him." Kaname threatened and we locked eyes for a few more seconds before he pulled away, leaving his hand on my waist but in a softer grip.

"What happened to us Kaname? What happened to the love we once shared?" I asked sadly, lifting a hand to clutch at his jacket. I felt him sigh and raise a hand to my cheek, gently caressing it. He lifted my head to look him in the eye, and they held a softer and loving look that never failed to make my heart skip a beat.

"That love is still there, I apologize Keiko. I haven't been a good fiancée to you, and I realize that." Kaname said quietly. I smiled and leaned my cheek into his hand, standing on my tip toes to meet his lips in a loving kiss.

When we pulled away he took my hand gently and we started making our way back to the Night Class dorms. The walk was silent but not uncomfortable, as we got closer to the gates, I could feel Zero's presence a head. We slowed to a stop next to him.

"What do you want?" Kaname asked, to Zero's figure leaning against the tree.

"You two did it. You both were the ones who killed Shizuka after I had already shot her." Zero stated in a harsh tone. I looked at him with furrowed brows. "I hear the flesh and blood of purebloods hold strong powers. So, her powers, did you take them?" He continued.

Kaname staid silent for a moment, and I refused to meet Zero's lilac eyes. Kaname closed his eyes, as if the conversation was irritating to him.

"You heard? As if you have no idea. You know. You know firsthand. You realize my blood won't save you forever. Its only temporary. I pity you Zero. But at the same time, I'm envious that you can protect her." Kaname said and then started walking away, pulling me with him.

"You and I are not done talking! I spoke to Maria, who is this real enemy of the purebloods she told me about?" Zero snapped from behind us. I stopped and turned around to look at him.

"You don't need to know that Zero, knowing will only put you at risk." I said to him, causing his pale eyes to meet with my dark ones. Kaname's voice broke our connected stare, Zero turned to look at his retreating back, while I continued to look at Zero.

"I just realized there's another way of looking at this. The only reason you can protect them is because my blood is flowing inside you. I know that you think you're the one protecting them, but really its me." Kaname turned his head and smirked at Zero's shocked expression. I frowned at his wording, 'who is them? I know he means Yuki but who is the other? Surely, he doesn't mean me, I'm capable of protecting myself.'

I walked over to Kaname and placed a gentle hand on his lower back, trying to lead him back on our course to the dorms. I was feeling tired and the headache was starting to resurface from everything that had happened tonight.

Kaname turned to look at me with a gentle smile, placing his arm around my waist. I looked up to him his face as we walked, admiring the way the moonlight complemented his pale skin, and caused his hair to shine.

'I grew up with him, I was to marry and have a family with him, but would I ever truly understand him?'

I hope this chapter wasn't a disappointment. I'm getting back into the grove of writing again now that I have uploaded a new story for Devil May Cry. Let me know how Keiko came across in this chapter, she is starting to hate Yuki and is getting more insecure about her position in Kaname's life and I feel like it really shows in this chapter.

Keiko is jealous and extremely possessive in this chapter, and Kaname is always pretty much a jerk to her whenever Yuki is around/involved. Their relationship is toxic, and I do not condone/support real relationships like this. Just wanted to put that out there.

Let me know your guy's thoughts in the reviews but keep them nice and/or constructive please. Thank you for reading!
