"Look at who came to join us," Pitch laughed.
The hairs at the back of my head stood on end as I saw multiple golden yellow eyes staring at me from the darkness.
"Stay away!" I yelled at him, but he just sauntered forward.
He reached out to grab me. I tried to back away, but I couldn't move. I shivered as I felt his hand close around my wrist.
"Come," he whispered.
My body felt like a puppet. My teeth were clenched as Pitch led me down the stairs, my feet mindlessly following his footsteps. I looked around. I was dreaming about the university. I could see the familiar pictures on the wall as Pitch led me out onto the campus. We walked towards the woods until we arrived at the training ground. The targets were all in a messy pile in the back and some stray scorch marks were scattered on the trees. Pitch raised my hand.
"Use your powers," he smiled.
"No," I responded and was glad to see no traces of snow on my hand.
Pitch's eyebrows furrowed.
"Stupid girl, you will obey me! Use your power!" he hissed at me, but I remained still.
His eyes flashed.
"I see you are trying to be difficult, but no problem, that can be easily fixed," he grinned and I shivered.
With horror, I watched as black sand poured out of his hands, snaking their way around my legs and up to my arm.
"Stop!" I pleaded as I watched in dread as the sand closed around my hands, "Stop it!"
Pitch laughed as I struggled to subdue the icy electricity that was shooting across my arm.
"Please, don't do this," I began to cry, but the black sand didn't stop their arousal.
With a scream of pain, I felt the icy jags shoot out of my arm and a burning sensation afterwards. The ice covered the training ground and looming icicles blocked the sky.
"Stop!" I screamed again as my arm began to burn.
Pitch began cackling as I faded away in pain.
Groaning, my eyes opened. My entire body ached and my arms felt like they had fallen off. They were sore and I had a feeling that something happened last night, that I had a dream, but I couldn't remember the exact details. Pitch was in it though. Punzie was gone, but on her bed was a note.
Hey Elsa,
I'm going to the training ground. I'm sorry that I didn't wake you up, but you looked absolutely tired. I tried though, but you glared at me and hissed along the lines of "Don't you dare try, you have no idea what I'm capable of" which kind of put me off... Anyways, you'll find me in the training ground.
See ya,
Punzie
I smiled. I vaguely recalled saying that and rolling back into the cocoon of blankets. I was changing out of my pajamas when Punzie burst into the room, followed by Anna.
"Elsa! Ohmygod! Thetraininggroundiscompletelycoverediniceandit'ssuperscary!Idon'tknowwhathappenedandeveryoneisscaredandthereisamessageandeveryone thinksPitchdiditwhichheprobablydidwhywouldn'the? Butthepointis-" Anna gasped from the lack of air.
I tried keeping up with her fast talking, but was completely lost after "Oh my God".
"What Anna is saying is that something scary and strange happened in the training ground," Punzie cut in, "Hiccup is investigating and you should come see it"
"What happened in the training ground exactly?" I asked tentitively.
"We don't know, but Pitch left us a message, you have to come!" Anna said, calming down a bit.
Biting my lip, I finished dressing and rushed out of the door, flanked by Punzie and Anna. We raced towards the clearing in the woods and I froze in my tracks. A thick layer of ice mixed with black sand coated the ground and it covered the sky, causing the sun's light to cast an eerie black glow on the ground. In the middle of the clearing was a podium. Words were engraved on it. I rushed towards it.
Fellow Guardians,
New powers are rising,
The past is repeating.
Prophecies are fulfilled,
And a new kingdom I shall build.
P
P.S By the way Jack, nothing goes better than cold and darkness, I just needed to find the right cold.
I felt cold inside.
"I thought Pitch couldn't control ice or snow," I stammered as I read over the lines for the fifth time.
"He can't," Merida walked up to me, "But there are those who can"
She turned towards Jack and Periwinkle, her eyes narrowed.
"One of you, or maybe both of you have been in conference with Pitch," she accused.
"No we haven't," Periwinkle gasped, eyes wide.
Anna glanced at me, her eyes accusing and I shook my head.
I couldn't have done this...
Anna walked towards Jack and Periwinkle.
"I trusted both of you, and one of you betrayed us all! How can you call yourselves Guardians? I don't care that my aim is terrible, if I find out who did it, I will burn you to the ground!" she hissed.
"Really?" Jack challenged, "I would like to see you try"
Anna's eyes narrowed and a fireball appeared on her hand. My stomach clenched.
"Whoa, whoa feisty pants, just let them be!" Kristoff intervened just as Anna was about to throw the ball.
"Okay, okay, I'm calm!" Anna rolled her eyes.
"Great," Kristoff sighed, just as Anna punched Jack in the arm.
"Come on," he groaned and Jack was about to pummel my sister with snowballs before I ran in between them.
"Cut it out!" I scolded, "Can't you guys just behave?"
Punzie joined me, "Yeah, if one of you did it, than probably you were under Pitch's control! We need to work together to solve this!"
Jack still looked angry, but at least the huge pile of snowballs disappeared.
"Great, now we can find out what Pitch means in his message," Hiccup joined the conversation, "He said he found a new cold, which implies that it isn't Jack"
"So who is this 'new power'" Eugene asked.
They all looked at Periwinkle.
"I swear, I didn't do it!" Periwinkle defended herself.
"What did he mean about the past repeating, and what prophecy did he mean?" I asked.
Punzie sighed, "There was a prophecy about the Snow Queen that the Man in the Moon gave us"
"Born with the power of ice and snow,
Only she could destroy the mighty foe.
But if the ice turns black and the dark triumphs,
The world will die at once," Hiccup flipped to a page in his notebook.
"That Periwinkle must be the new power. If Pitch can control her, than he would be able to destroy the world," Anna exclaimed.
"And what about the past repeating?" I asked again.
Jack sighed, "He means that the Snow Queen is now under his control"
