EVERYTHING FALLS APART
As soon as Marissa brought her TARDIS back to Torchwood, Koschei instantly ran inside with a worried look on his face as he said, "Ushas, are you alright? Why did you suddenly take off like that?"
"That was my fault actually. I called her," Max said.
Koschei looked at him in surprise as he had been so concerned for Marissa that he hadn't even noticed Max standing there until that moment. He looked at him with puzzlement at first and then he finally knew exactly who he was as he remembered meeting Max right after Marissa had opened her fob watch.
"So you've finally figured out that she still loves you, huh? It took you long enough," Koschei said with a frown.
"Koschei, don't," Marissa said.
"It's okay. He's right. I never should have freaked out like that and broken contact with you," Max said with a guilty look on his face.
"It's okay. I understand, Max. I really do. I'm just glad that you're finally back now, and this time you're going to stay if I have to chain you to my TARDIS," Marissa said with a grin.
Max laughed as he said, "No, you won't have to go that far. Nothing's ever going to make me leave again. This time you won't be able to get rid of me no matter how hard you try."
"Oh, joy," Koschei said with a sigh.
"Shut it," Marissa said with a glare.
"I was just kidding," Koschei immediately said.
"Yeah, well I don't like the joke so don't ever say that again," Marissa said.
Koschei looked at her apologetically and she immediately smiled and kissed him.
Max couldn't help but chuckle a little at that. She definitely still had Marissa's kind and forgiving nature for sure. Marissa had never been able to stay mad at him for long either no matter what he did.
He idly wondered where that had come from. Marissa had told him about the Rani once (which admittedly was one of the reasons that he had distanced himself from her), and he just couldn't reconcile that person with the one that he had grown up with. Was Marissa's good side a result of being human or had she always been that way until life broke her? He chose to believe that the latter was true.
He could never see his sister as anything else but a good person at heart. He smiled as he automatically thought of her as his sister once again. He was completely convinced now that she was still the same person deep down that he had grown up with.
Max's thoughts were interrupted as he was suddenly enveloped in a strong hug by Lissa. Max had absolutely no idea who she was, but he knew one thing from the start. She definitely seemed to know him.
"It's so good to see you again! How are you doing?" Lissa said with a huge smile on her face as she kissed his cheek.
"Uh, I'm fine," Max said nervously as he looked at Marissa questioningly.
"Lissa, he doesn't know you yet. I haven't even introduced him to baby you yet," Marissa said.
Lissa slapped herself in the forehead and said, "Oh, I am so ditzy! I completely forgot that I'm from the future. No wonder you look so confused, Uncle Max."
Max looked at her with a growing smile as he said, "So you're the future version of little Lissa?"
"Yep, that's me. I have to explain that future versions of children go back to visit our parents in the past a lot in our little social group. I just love seeing Mum and Dad when they were younger and just getting together. I also love being around Shehzadi. I still don't understand why I never grew up with her since she's here now, but I never saw her at all in my own time. I definitely don't remember her at all. I hope I'll figure that out someday," Lissa said looking just a little worried.
"I'm sure whatever the reason is that she wasn't there that it's not that bad," Marissa reassured her.
"I hope so," Lissa said.
"It's so nice to meet you, Lissa. You're so much like your mum. I can't understand where you get your looks from though. You're definitely a lot prettier than she is," Max said smiling wickedly as he tried to make Lissa laugh and cheer her up.
It worked as Lissa started chuckling and Marissa playfully hit him in the arm and said, "Shut up. Your so called sense of humor is not funny and never was."
Another woman that Max knew must have been Shehzadi now came into the TARDIS and looked at him in surprise as she asked, "Who are you?"
"That's Uncle Max, Zadi. You'll like him," Lissa reassured her.
"Max? Oh, I remember now. You're Mum's human brother. She told me about you once. I'm so glad that you finally came back into her life again. I always hated it that you left like you did because I know that she's missed you. I'm half human myself by the way so we have something in common. It's so nice to meet you," Shehzadi said as she tried her best to make him feel welcome.
"It's nice to meet you too, Shehzadi. I'm so glad now that I decided to call your mum. I hate it that I've missed out on getting to know you and your sister. You both seem so sweet," Max said.
Lissa smiled evilly as she said, "You obviously don't know us very well yet. You'll soon learn though."
"Oh, he definitely will," Shehzadi added with an evil smile of her own.
Max started to look worried until Marissa said with a warm smile, "Don't worry about them. They're just playing around. They're both just as sweet as you think they are. They just don't want to admit it."
"I'm not sweet, Mum. I wish I was but I'm not," Shehzadi said in a serious tone.
"Yes, you are, Zadi. You're so much better now than you were. Trust me," Lissa reassured her.
"You know I think I liked it better when you used to insult me," Shehzadi said with a small smile.
"Shut up and accept a compliment, Jerk!" Lissa said.
"Thank you, Freak. That's more like it," Shehzadi said as she hugged her.
Max looked at them in puzzlement as Marissa said, "Yes, I don't understand it either. You just have to ignore it. They really do love each other. They just have a funny way of showing it."
"I can see that," Max said with a smile.
Just then Lucy walked into the TARDIS and said, "Mari, Harriet wants to know what progress you're making on restoring the children. Oh! Sorry if I'm interrupting something."
Max looked at her in shock as he said, "You're Lucy Saxon. I knew it! You are Harold Saxon, Koschei."
"I was but I don't like to think about that time in my life. I made a lot of mistakes then especially in the way that I treated Lucy," Koschei said sadly.
Lucy put a comforting hand on his shoulder, and he looked at her with gratitude. He was so glad that she had forgiven him and that they had become good friends. He deeply regretted now how he had treated her and was happy to see her becoming more like the woman that he had first met once again.
"So you're okay with her being around him? She is his ex," Max whispered to Marissa.
"I like her and she seems to be a good influence on Lissa. The two of them are close friends," Marissa whispered back.
Just then Harriet came into the TARDIS and Max's jaw dropped as he said, "You're . . ."
"Harriet Jones, Prime Minister," Harriet finished for him.
"Yes, I know. Mari said that she was working for the government now, but I didn't know that she was this high up in it. I'm her brother, Max," Max said in a stunned voice.
Harriet smiled as she said, "It's nice to meet you, Max. I've heard your sister talk about you with regret before so I'm so glad that the two of you have finally reconciled. I don't mean to be rude, Max, but I really must interrupt this family reunion to find out Mari's progress."
"I'm sorry but I think that I've kept her from making any. I've been taking up all of her time since I called her," Max said with a frown.
"Nonsense. I've already figured out how to fix them back. I'm just waiting for my lab equipment to warm up so that I can use it," Marissa said.
"You figured it out before I called?" Max asked.
"No, since then. I was working it out in my head this whole time," Marissa said with a smug grin on her face.
Max shook his head at her as he said, "You always were too smart for your own good."
"She's absolutely brilliant is what she is. That's one reason why I've always been madly in love with her," Koschei said proudly.
"Here I thought you were always madly in love with yourself instead," Marissa joked.
Koschei frowned as he said, "You, like your brother, are not funny."
"Really? I've always thought that I had a healthy sense of humor myself," Marissa said as she kissed Koschei and wiped his frown away in an instant.
"I'm glad that you'll have them all back to normal soon, Mari. Now if we can just figure out what to do about the mysterious Mr. Hunter. I'm not sure that I trust him," Harriet said.
"I'm more worried about who sent him here. What if they come to check up on him?" Marissa said.
"Yes, and what if they're the real ones that we should be worried about?" Koschei added.
Just as Koschei was asking that question, Jack was already finding out the answer to it as a mysterious woman dressed like a pirate straight out of a blockbuster movie suddenly appeared in Hunter's cell out of nowhere while he was watching him. The woman immediately exuded an overwhelming sense of danger that instantly set all of Jack's mental alarm bells ringing.
Hunter smiled in amusement as he said, "Oh, is it movie week? I'll take 'Stars of Famous Hollywood Blockbusters' for a thousand dollars, Alex."
"Your sense of humor is as crass as always. Even being turned human doesn't seem to have removed that biting wit of yours from you it seems. I was so hoping that being changed into one of these pitiful creatures would have taught you a proper sense of respect at last," The pirate queen said with a frown.
"You're out of character, aren't you? Shouldn't you be talking like Captain Jack, Wrack?" Hunter asked with a smug grin.
"Why would she be talking like me? Am I as big of a legend among the Eternals as I am in the rest of the universe?" Jack asked with a smug grin as he suddenly entered the cell to find out what was going on.
"Who is this buffoon?" Captain Wrack asked with an annoyed look on her face.
"I guess not," Jack said in a disappointed tone.
"I meant the other Captain Jack of those pirate movies," Hunter said.
"Yeah, I got that. Thanks," Jack said with a frown.
"I like her already, Ushas. Anyone who can cut Harkness down to size that quickly is alright with me," Koschei said behind Jack.
Jack turned his head to see that Koschei, Marissa, and the others were all standing directly behind him. They had apparently been keeping a close eye on Hunter as well.
"You expected something like this to happen," Jack said.
"Let's just say that a great deal of the fun of tormenting someone that you've just royally put over a barrel is coming back to gloat to them about it," Koschei said.
"You would know," Jack said with a smirk.
"Don't tempt me to declare this "Kill Jack Harkness Day", human. Just don't," Koschei said in a cold voice.
"Stop it. We have enough problems already," Marissa reminded him.
Captain Wrack laughed as she said to Koschei, "You Ephemerals are always so amusing. I especially love the arrogance of your kind, Time Lord. Your very names are hubris personified. Do you actually believe that such a weak, pathetic little creature such as you could ever possibly be a true lord over time?"
"Actually I prefer to think of myself as time's master. Perhaps one day you will think of me that way too," Koschei said smugly.
Wrack now seemed to be very interested in him as she smiled for the first time since having arrived there and was suddenly standing right next to him while she said, "I thought I recognized you. You are the one who calls himself the Master, aren't you? You know that you're actually one of the few of your kind that I actually have a sort of grudging respect for. You have such a lofty sense of ambition . . . for an Ephemeral."
"Hands off, Captain Jackie. This one's mine," Marissa said in a cold tone.
Wrack now looked at Marissa with surprise as she said, "The Rani! I almost didn't recognize you. Now you I definitely respect. Such cold calculated cunning and ruthlessness all in the pursuit of science. You're always willing to go the extra mile in order to get what you want. I'm exactly the same way. You might actually make a very good Eternal, and I don't say that about an Ephemeral often."
"I'm not the Rani anymore. I haven't been for some time now," Marissa said.
Wrack looked at her with an evil smile as she said, "Oh, you think you aren't, but she's still there deep inside of you. You can try to deny the evil in your hearts all you like, but it's still a part of you and always will be."
Marissa had a sad look on her face as she said, "I know. That doesn't mean that I have to give in to it though. I can control it instead of letting it control me. I can decide to use that darkness to protect others instead of destroy them, and that's exactly what I'm doing."
"So far. Your true nature will show itself eventually though. It always does," Wrack said.
"I think it already has," Max said and then instantly regretted it as Wrack turned her attention towards him.
"You think you know her? You don't know anything about her, human. Not really. You only know the face that she shows to you. Her true self though is always kept carefully hidden these days. If you saw her true face, the face of the Rani, you would run from her screaming in terror. That's what I hate about your species, human. You're so smug and full of a false sense of your own superiority. You actually think that you know more than I do, a being who has lived since the dawn of time? Perhaps I should give you a lesson about who is the true superior being between us," Wrack said with an evil gleam in her eyes.
Marissa's face contorted in anger and she instantly stepped protectively in-between Wrack and her brother as she said in a cold voice that had no trace of humanity in it, "Touch him and I'll gladly teach you a lesson. I'll make sure that you have a whole new definition of pain when I'm finished with you. Don't think that I can't do it either. I've studied Eternals before, Wrack. I know ways to hurt even you, ways to cause you excruciating agony that will make you beg for a mercy that I'll never show you. I won't do that though as long as you leave here . . . now."
Koschei looked at her with awe written all over his face as he said, "I didn't think that I could love you more but I was so wrong. You are truly amazing!"
Marissa couldn't even look at Max. She had never wanted him to see that side of her. She was shocked when he suddenly grabbed her hand and squeezed it. She turned her head to see him smiling encouragingly at her. She smiled back as she realized that he understood that this wasn't her now. This wasn't who she was anymore and she only brought that side of her out to help others these days.
She sighed in relief as she realized that he wasn't looking at her with anger, fear, or repulsion.
Neither was Wrack who smiled at her with amusement as she said, "Oh, yes, now you I respect. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to a being who could wipe you out with a snap of their fingers like that."
Then she snapped her fingers and instantly broke Jack's neck. As he fell over dead, she laughed.
"As much as I respect you, I won't let you threaten me though. Do it again and the next person I kill won't be coming back to life. Understand?" Wrack said.
"Why are you here? Are you the one who did this to Hunter?" Marissa said as she decided to change the conversation away from this very dangerous subject as quickly as possible.
"Ah, I was wondering when you'd finally decide to talk about something important. You're so curious about him aren't you? Of course I can see why you would be with all of the chaos that he's created here in such a short time. Let me tell you all about him then, and maybe you'll see why it's best not to ever threaten me, Rani. After all I can always do something much worse to you," Wrack said with a sinister cackle.
"That's enough, Wrack. Stop threatening them!" Hunter said in anger.
Wrack smiled as she said, "That's exactly why he's here. He cares. He actually cares about you worthless Ephemerals. He's tried to help you lot over and over again for a long time now despite knowing that the other Eternals frowned on that kind of behavior. As long as he stayed out of their affairs though, then they all obeyed an unwritten agreement between them to turn a blind eye to whatever it was that he was doing. Most Eternals would much rather pay attention to their own pursuit of pleasure than to waste time dealing with a troublemaker like him after all. He took full advantage of that fact to skate by and get away with interfering in things that he had no business poking his long nose into at all. He did that for a very long time until finally he crossed the wrong person. He saved an entire planet from being destroyed by one of us known as Death. That was when his luck finally ran out. Most of our people turned on him and gave him a punishment that they felt truly suited him. Since he loved you mortals so much, then they would make him one of you! They made him human and then exiled him to this world. It amused them to let him keep his power so that in the addled state that his mind was in after he became an Ephemeral that he could cause problems for the very people that he always championed. I have to say now that I've seen the results of his actions that I think they were absolutely right. It was very amusing until one of you fixed his mind. Maybe I should be grateful for that though. It inspired me to come here and make him an offer after all."
"I won't make any deals with you to do anything. Not even the other Eternals trust you anymore after they found out that you were working with the original Black Guardian. You're just as bad of a renegade as I am if not worse," Hunter said with a smirk.
"You still haven't heard my deal yet. You might just change your mind. I'll turn you back into one of us again if you'll agree to help me do one thing. Just one thing. Help me with that and then you'll have your life back again. You can escape to another reality before the others find out that you're whole once more. Just think of it. You won't have to live as one of these miserable apes anymore. Whatever favor that I ask you for has to be worth that, right?" Wrack asked.
Hunter actually looked interested which bothered the others as he asked, "What is this favor that you want me to do?"
"I want revenge on the man who ruined my reputation and caused me to fall from favor among the Eternals by defeating me and the Black Guardian. I want you to help me destroy the interfering Time Lord known as the Doctor! I want him wiped out once and for all!" Wrack said in anger.
"I . . ." Hunter said hesitating.
"Don't do it. You're a good man. I could sense that when I was in your mind," Shehzadi said in an upset voice.
Wrack laughed as she said, "There's no such thing as a good Eternal, little Time Lady. We have no sense of morality. Not really. Maybe this one managed to fool himself into thinking that he's different but he's not. Not deep down. Deep down when push comes to shove he's no different from the rest of us. He'll take the deal. It's either that or he'll spend the rest of his rather short life as one of you."
"Don't do it. Listen to your heart and do what's right. You'll never be able to live with yourself if you don't. Believe me on that. I know what I'm talking about from personal experience," Marissa assured him.
"Do you? Do you really?" Wrack said as she gestured at Marissa.
Marissa screamed in agony as Wrack used her power to twist her mind and force her current personality to the back of her mind. She replaced it with something else. Or rather someone else.
The Rani smiled as she looked at the others and laughed. She was back! After being pushed down into the dark recesses of her own mind for so long now, she had finally been allowed to return at last!
"How do you feel now, Rani?" Wrack asked laughing.
"Mum?" Lissa asked in a terrified voice.
"I'd say take the deal or you'll regret it. All trying to be nice and sweet does is get you nothing but misery, Hunter. You can believe me on that," The Rani said.
"Ushas, stop this! Whatever she did to you, you can fight it. You don't have to be that person anymore," Koschei said.
"Oh, shut it. It's time that you sang a different tune too. Or rather an old one that is," Wrack said as she now returned the drums to Koschei's mind and began to twist it as well as she forced his inner darkness to the forefront once more.
The Master now began to laugh as he said, "Do you expect me to be grateful for what you've done? To offer you my services maybe? I won't do anything for you except perhaps try to steal you power the first opportunity that I get."
"Dad, no!" Lissa said in horror.
"It's going to be alright," Shehzadi said as she put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"No, it's not. She's twisted them both into monsters!" Lissa said in tears.
"That all depends on your point of view, my dear. I'm sure you'll change your mind when we raise the current you properly," The Master said as he began to laugh.
"Don't you go anywhere near her!" Shehzadi screamed.
"Shehzadi, he's actually right for once. We'll be doing her a favor to undo this namby pamby version of her that we have now. She'll be much better off in the long run. Believe me," The Rani said.
"This isn't really you, Mari. I know it isn't. She's twisted you into something that you're not," Max said.
"That's right. You're not my Mum. You're nothing like my Mum!" Lissa screamed.
"Oh, my poor deluded little girl! You just can't see it, can you? This is the real me whether you like it or not. This has always been the real me. I was just fooling myself by ever trying to pretend otherwise. I'm sick of it. It's time to be true to myself now and be who I really am," The Rani said.
"No! Fight it, Mum, Dad! Fight it!" Lissa shouted.
"Can we ignore her and get back to the reason that I freed both of you please? I need your help. I want you to help me kill the Doctor," Wrack said.
"Gladly. It's long past time that he paid for what happened to Arkytior. Whether she's alive or not is beside the point. It was no thanks to him," The Master said without a moment's hesitation.
"Why should I do anything to help you? As long as the Doctor doesn't bother me, then he's none of my concern. I must get back to my experiments and none of them involve the Doctor. Let that idiot help if he wants to since he's so obsessed with the man, but I want nothing to do with it," The Rani said.
"Very well. Does this indifferent attitude of yours mean that you won't try to stop us?" Wrack asked.
"No. I won't. I won't even lift a finger. Do whatever you want. It has nothing to do with me whatsoever," The Rani said in an uncaring voice.
Wrack then turned to Hunter as she said, "So what's your decision then? Will you join me and the Master or will you sit here and rot for the next, oh, four or five decades or so until you finally die? You'll actually die you know. There won't be any coming back. It's your choice."
Hunter looked at the Rani and the Master and then at the horrified looks on the faces of their family and friends before he finally said, "I guess I have no choice. I'm in."
"I knew it! It's just like I said, a person's true nature always shows through in the end," Wrack said as she pointed at Hunter who began to glow with power.
He screamed as he slowly transformed from a human back to an Eternal again. As soon as he finished, he smiled and said, "Thanks. I needed that. So when do we go find this Doctor of yours?"
"Right now. With both you and the Master on my side, this time I can't lose even if the Bad Wolf herself comes after me. At the moment he's all alone though and that's the perfect time to strike. Let's go," Wrack said as she snapped her fingers and she, Hunter, and the Master all vanished.
"Dad!" Lissa screamed.
"Oh, stop blubbering, girl. You're better off without him. Believe me," The Rani said with a frown.
"Marissa, you've got to snap out of this and stop them. They're going to kill the Doctor," Harriet said.
"You also have to help change the Master back to Koschei before . . ." Lucy said in a horrified voice.
"Worried that he'll come after you again, Lucy? I would be too if I were you. He's a despicable little parasite in this state of mind isn't he? My advice to you is to run. Take your son and run as far and as fast as you can. Hopefully then he'll never find you. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go. Come along, Lissa, Shehzadi. We have work to do and I have plenty of new test subjects to do it on. The altered humans are still all on my TARDIS after all. I can learn so much from them. My age progression experiments will be greatly helped by trying to change them back using different methods and techniques," The Rani said eagerly.
"Mum, you're not going to hurt them are you?" Lissa asked.
"Not intentionally but if it happens it happens. There are always regrettable consequences in all great research after all," The Rani said in a nonchalant manner.
"Uncle Max, I don't know what to do. How can I save them?" Lissa said to Max in despair.
"Listen, Lis. You're not thinking straight. Just calm down and we'll fix this. I know we can," Shehzadi said.
"You won't be fixing anything. It's not going to be fixed. This is me now, girls, whether you like it or not. I don't know why you're so upset for anyway. At least you're not with him! Being with me is much more preferable than being dragged along on his latest insipid plan to kill the Doctor I'm sure," The Rani said with a snort.
"You're right. You're absolutely right, Mum. Come on, Lissa. Let's go," Shehzadi said.
"What?!" Lissa said in despair.
Shehzadi winked at her as she said, "Let's go."
Lissa nodded and started to follow her mother and sister into the TARDIS as the Rani said to the others in the room, "The rest of you stay here. I want nothing to do with any of you. You're all in the past now as far as I'm concerned. Just stay where you are until we leave, and I won't hurt any of you. If you try to stop us though, then it'll be a different story."
As the three Time Ladies entered the TARDIS and it dematerialized, Harriet, Lucy, and Max were left to look at one another in absolute despair. They had absolutely no idea what to do.
Jack suddenly came back to life at that moment as he said, "Did I miss something? What happened? Where is everybody?"
"Jack, we need to call the Doctor and Rose and warn them both. We also need to assemble as many of Marissa's defense team as we can. This is bad. Extremely bad," Harriet said.
"I don't even know what you're talking about, Harriet. What's going on?" Jack asked in bewilderment.
After Harriet explained it all to him, he said in a tone of absolute disbelief, "What can we possibly do to save them now?"
"Jack, we're going to gather a team together to save the Doctor from the Master, and then we're going to find a way to change both him and the Rani back. I won't let all of their progress be undone by that madwoman. I just won't. I'm going to save both of them or die trying. I promise you that," Harriet said.
"We both will because there is no way that I'm ever letting the Master return to harm me or my son. I'll kill him first and this time I'll make it stick," Lucy said in a hardened voice.
Then she burst into tears as she said, "I don't want to though. I want to save him. We have to save him."
"We will, Lucy. I promise," Jack said as he held her.
"Thank you, Jack. Thank you for not hating me," Lucy said.
"I never hated you. You were as much of his victim as I was," Jack reassured her.
Lucy smiled at him grateful that at least something had gone right here today.
Max meanwhile continued to stand by and watch while the others made several phone calls and started to assemble a team together. He had never felt so completely helpless and absolutely useless in his life. All he wanted to do was save his sister, and he couldn't even do that. He had absolutely no idea how because this wasn't his world. He just stood there alone and off to the side filled with despair.
That was when he felt Harriet's hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see her smiling at him. That smile instantly made him feel a hundred times better somehow, but if pressed for a reason why he wouldn't have been able to tell anyone. Maybe it was just because Harriet seemed so sure of herself.
"Don't worry, Max. We'll get your sister back. I promise. In fact, you can come along. I think before the day is over with we're going to need your help too to reach the true her," Harriet said.
"So you think Wrack was wrong and that the Rani isn't who she really is?" Max asked.
"I don't just think it. I know it, Max. Marissa is her true self. I'd bet my life on that," Harriet said.
"That's exactly what we are going to be doing it seems," Lucy said.
"There's no need to worry, Lucy. I trust Marissa to snap herself out of it in time. It's the Master that I'm worried about," Jack said in an ominous tone.
"Me too," the Doctor said from behind him.
"Doctor, how did you know? We tried to contact you but you wouldn't answer your phone," Harriet said.
"It helps if your wife knows more than she should about the future," the Doctor said.
"More than I should? Well, it never bothered you before, yeah? This time it might even help save more than just you," Rose said as she suddenly appeared next to him in a burst of golden energy.
"Why am I not surprised that you know all about this already, Rosie?" Jack said with a grin.
"That's the trouble, Jack. I don't know everything. I have no more idea how this is all going to turn out than any of you do. All I know for sure is that I'm not letting either Mari or Koschei go. Not without a fight. We're going to get them both back just like they were, and Wrack is about to be in for a serious beating. It's time that she got acquainted with the back of my hand as I slap the life out of her," Rose said.
"It'll be just like the old days when we were up against the Slitheen again," Harriet said with a grin.
"You'd better believe it, mate," Rose said with a grin.
Max now began to believe more than ever that they could do this. They had to do it because there was no way that he was ever losing his sister again. He had already almost lost her once because of his own stupidity and he was never going to stand by and let it happen again. He would rather die first.
Next: Everything's just gone completely wrong, hasn't it? Now though it's time to try to set things right once more. Who will answer Harriet's call for help to stop Wrack and will they actually be able to do it? Has Hunter really decided to help Wrack despite a lifetime of helping others? Are Marissa and Koschei gone for good or can they be brought back once again? And finally will the people who Hunter accidentally changed ever be returned to normal? What about Harriet? We'll find out the answers to all of this next time as this whole storyline is finally wrapped up.
