CHAPTER 14

Four POV

"Geez, no need to get your panties in a twist," I muttered. She glared at me. "Yeah, don't mind me. I did save you and all," I trailed off, purposely leaving it hanging.

"Fuck off," she said acidly. "I'd love to, but no one willing," I replied, shrugging. It seems like my plan to lighten the air didn't work.

"Listen, Tris…"

"I'm afraid of waters okay?" she said on the verge of tears. My mouth opened and closed. Where's my smartass mouth run off to now?

"Tris…"

"Just… Go," she said and slid down on the floor. I could hear her sobbing. Should I or shouldn't I? My hand reached forward. But I left it hanging mid-air. She needs space.

My hand dropped to my side and I made my way outside. Shutting the door softly, I thought of what I should do with the subject. Ignoring him isn't too bad. But at the same time, I want to pass my class. The only one I plan on passing.

Tris POV

Why did I tell him that? Now I'll have to deal with him teasing me and his challenges would all be water-like. Darn him and his species. If news came out his like is extinct, I'd be the happiest girl in the universe. Would you, though?

***PAGEBREAK***

"Tris!" Christina banged on the door. "Yeah?" I asked. My voice was muffled by my pillow. "Congratulations, again," she said excitedly.

"What are you babbling about?" I squinted as I tried to look at her. It was really bright in my room, my roomie's not back yet.

"Oh, you know. Subjects. Tom didn't do anything wrong," she smiled. What? Am I hearing right? "B-but I," I tried to say but no words came out. I lost the challenge, it's his turn with Tom. Funny how we sound like a couple with a baby to take care of. Wait, scratch that. That will never happen. Ever.

"You were with Tom, weren't you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Uh-oh. If I tell her, she won't stop pestering me. If I don't, she'll see right through it. "Sure I did," I gave a small grin. Hoping she would buy it.

She raised both eyebrows but didn't question further. Phew, that was close.

"So, wanna do something?" she asked. "Like what?"

I… shouldn't have asked. We went to the park. You know, the I-fell-in-the-fish-pond park. Why would she even go here? I mean, it is lovely, but why?

"Hey Chrissy," someone hugged her from behind. "Willie," she giggled. Ew, now I know why. "Before you go all lovey-dovey mode, do know that I'm not even an inch away from you two sick lovebirds," I said, scrunching up my nose.

Maybe I'm just jealous. She's taken, and happy with a not bad-looking angel. Me? Don't ask….

"May I borrow Miss Christina here for the day?" Will asks politely. With a sigh, I dismissed them.

Yet another day, walking alone in the park. I like being alone, but right now, watching couples looking so happy, I couldn't help but wonder what it's like to have a boyfriend.

"Hi there."

I groaned. "Hi," I turned around, facing Mr Tom himself. "Here."

He gave me a box of chocolates. I raised an eyebrow. "For what?" I asked suspiciously. He shrugged and started walking away.

Curious to know his reply, I followed after him. "I… kind of came here every day since that day," he said, flushing a deep red. It was last Friday, drama much? "I mean, this was the third box of chocolate I bought," he mumbled.

Wow. Does that mean he's been buying chocolates the past three days. "What are they for?" I ask, looking at them. "Valentine's not until next month. And April is still a long way ahead," I said.

"What's on April?" he asked curiously. I shrugged. "You know, April's fool."

He made a face. "Seriously? You think this is a joke?" he asked, looking at me as if I couldn't be stupider. I shrugged again.

He chuckled and puts his hands behind his head. Leaning back a little. For god's sake! I know you're good looking but please, you're 13. I'm not sure it's even legal to buy me chocolates.

"So, where are you schooling at?" he asks. Err….

"D.A Academy," I said quietly. "Where's that?" he asked, sitting upright. "Over there," I pointed to the gleaming towers of my school. "What are you pointing at?" he asked. Did that answer your previous question?

"Uhm, just joking. It's a little far from here," I said, fiddling with my fingers. He forced out a laugh. "For a moment there, I thought you were…. Seeing things. No offense."

None taken dear Tom. Believe me, I see things you couldn't.

I bit my lower lip. His gaze fell to my lips. You're freaking 13, Tom. He swallowed. Don't let my first kiss be with a 13 year old boy. Please…

"Hey, you guys doing something over here?"

Oh. I take it back. Let me kiss him to avoid HIM. Tom's head turned in his direction. Oh please. "Leave Tris alone," says the devil. I groaned. Tom just raised an eyebrow.

"Tris? This girl here is Bea," he said as a matter of-factly. Four chuckled. He was clearly amused. "Okay. Well 'Bea' here is already taken," he said, still with an amused voice. Oh, stop it already. I can feel my face heat up.

"By who?" Tom challenged. "Me," he replied. Oh gosh, this guy is such a narcissist. Not everyone wants him. And besides, I'm still pissed off at him. "Right, that was funny," I forced a giggle. "Nice show," I said again.

They both stared at me. 'Oh' was all I said as I tried to decipher my feelings. "Let's go, 'Bea'," Four chuckled. Real funny, Four. He's never leaving me alone after this. Do I mind?

"Son of a devil," I muttered. He laughed. "How ironic," he said. "Aren't you a cute little angel, Bea?" he said and laughed again. Laugh all you want devil.

Tom had a confused expression. "I'm gonna leave you alone now," Four said. Tom brightened until he realized Four really meant leaving him alone. Like, alone alone, because he dragged me with him.

Huh, genius.

Someone requested me to update or be a pansycake. I'm no pansycake I tell ya :P But thought it was funny XD. So there, does this mean I updated three times a day now? *clapping for myself by myself*
