Chapter 14

Gaara sighed for fourteenth time. "Ok Gaara we get it your bored." Saku mumbles as she glares at him from the rock she was sitting on. They had been waiting two hours. "But really how long does it take?"

Sai shrugs from his perch on Gaara's lap. They were sitting on the ground next to Deidara. "Naruto likes to talk."

"Saku we need to find some sun crystals."

Saku looked at Gaara in disbelief. "You think you can just find them? I have to make them. They have to soak in the light of the sun for at least a year. When Sai told me he found you I was going to use his and break it into two for you guys. But seems we need another form of protection."

Saku sat back and thought for a while. Sai played with Gaara's fingers as he thought. "What about moon stones?" Saku looks at him. "I read once that moon stones hold the power of the moon. It is said if you wear it while a full moon is out it will be impowered by the moon goddess and there for will protect her children of the night."

Saku thought for a moment. "That's a great idea Sai but where do you think we find moon stones?"

"In a lake that the full moon over looks." They turn to see Sasuke and Naruto. Sasuke shrugs. "There is one not too far from here but none of us has anything to keep us from bursting into flames."

"Except me." Everyone looks at Sai. Gaara wraps his arms tightly around Sai's stomach, holding him close to him. "I have a sun crystal I can go out in the sun."

"No" Sai turns and looks over his shoulder at Gaara. "You are not going out alone."

"Gaara, I was ok before I found you..."

"Yes but we didn't have Sasori's mate"

"He doesn't even know that he is his mate."

"Guys!" They both look at Saku. "Give me the crystal and I'll go."

Sai looked at her and frowned. "But Saku why you?"

"Because I don't have a mate to get all butt hurt about me going out." She jumps off the rock and walks over to them. "Hand it over."

Sai takes off the crystal and hands it to her. Saku puts it on and a light glow appears around her before it dims. Saku nods to them and turns to walk out of the cave. "Becareful.." Saku waves her hand as she she disappears into the light of day.

"You know I've been wondering about that." Gaara looks at Sai who was the one who spoke. "All these six hundred years Saku has never had a mate."

"Maybe she's afraid of Sasori finding them?" Naruto says as he sits on Saku's Rock.

"Or maybe she does have a mate but she's hiding him?" Sasuke leans against the rock.

"She almost had a mate." They all looked at Gaara, who was playing with Sai's short hair. "Her mate is an idiot, or so she said. He was human, it was a little after she left the castle when she found him. She had saved him from drowning. He told her that he knew right away that he loved her, and she told him that he was her mate and that she was a vampire. But he wanted nothing to do with a vampire and left. She just calls him the idiot and hates talking about him."

"After everything she has done for us, she's still alone.." Sai looks sadly at the ground. "Why would she keep doing this to her self?"

Gaara shrugs. "I'm her brother and knows I'd never leave her. Maybe that's why?"

"Oh poor Saku.." Naruto said as he looked at Sasuke.

"Poor Saku what?" They all turn to see Saku at the entrance. A flash of lightning strikes behind her. She looked at the group. "Poor Saku what?" A clap of thunder sounds and they all gulp.

"We were saying poor Saku cause we thought we smelled rain!" Naruto laughed nervously as he looked at everyone.

"Yea!" Sai said. "Exactly! Did you find the lake?"

Saku glared as she looked suspiciously at them. "Yes I did." She hands everyone a moon stone. "But with it raining so hard we should be fine walking out side. Keep it in your pocket though."

Gaara turned his moon stone over in his hand. "You sure these things will work?"

Sai shrugs as he stands up. "Can't hurt to try."

"Actually it can." Naruto mumbled as he jumped from the rock.

"Let's go before the storm passes. We might be able to travel in it, it looks like it's heading to the land of shadows." Saku walks over and picks Deidara up. She walks over to the cave entrance . "Can someone cover this guy up more? We don't need him dying of the flu before we turn him." Gaara walks over and covers Deidara better with his cloak. Gaara nods as he finishes and fallows Saku out into the storm.

As they reached the orchard Saku handed Deidara off to Gaara and ran to one of her trees. She put her hands on it then set the side of her face against the bark. Sai looked at Gaara. "Is she whispering to her trees?." Gaara looked at him and shrugged. Gaara moved forward to her house with Sai fallowing him.

Naruto walks over to a tree and puts a hand on it. "These are the trees that produce the blood fruit!" He looks excitingly at Sasuke. "She has a whole orchard!"

Sasuke walks over and places his hand on the tree. He feels the heart beat with in. "Saku you are a genius.."

Saku shrugs as she picks an orange. "I've been told this." She smirks at them as she walks to her house.

Naruto laughs as he and Sasuke fallow her. They walk in and sit on a chair. Gaara looks at them and snaps his fingers.

Deidara yawned as he slowly opened his eyes. He blinked a few times as he looked at the group infront of him. Sasuke was sitting on a chair with Naruto on his lap, Gaara and Sai were sitting on the couch and Saku was leaning against the door frame eating an blood orange. He watched the blood slowly leak down her chin. "Vampires!" He goes to stand up but quickly sits back down as he grabs his head. "What did you do to me?"

"Made you sleep" Gaara grunted as he looked at Sai.

"Why? Where am I?" Deidara closed his eyes as he tried to stop the room from spinning.

"My house." Deidara looked at Saku with one eye. "We brought you here because you are the reincarnation of Deisuka. I am going to give you back your memories and possibly turn you."

"Saku!" Sai glared at her.

"Look my house my rules, I'm tired of beating around the bush." She looks back at Deidara. "You are going to remember and we need answers from you."

Deidara sighed. "I have no choice right?" Saku shakes her head. "Fine.. What do I need to do?"

Saku shrugs. "Don't run away. I have to look through some books and your going to stay in the library with me till then."

Deidara sighs. "Ok. I like books so it wont be too bad." He stands and fallows her out the door to the library.

Gaara stands and pulls Sai up off the couch. "We are going to go rest."

Naruto nods and he stands too. "I think we are going to go explore the orchard." After a nod from Gaara, Naruto and Sasuke walk out of the house holding hands.

Gaara turns and looks at Sai. He gulps at the look Gaara gave him. Gaara moved closer to him as he pulled him closer. "We aren't going to rest are we?" Sai asks as he smiles. Gaara smirks as he pulls him to the stairs.

Gaara slams Sai against the wall of their room. He sighs as Gaara attacks his mouth with his. Gaara's hands travel from his neck to his waist as he licks across Sai's bottom lip.
