Hey guys, welcome back. I realise I didn't give Ushido much time with the Mangekyou so I'll quickly explain it to you. His Mangekyou is a genjust which makes the target feel as though time for them is slow. Everything around them is normal speed but looks twenty times quicker. It sort of effects the brain, taking longer to send signals to everything so they move relatively slower. Wanna quickly give thanks to all who have stuck around for this and hope you stick around to the end. (Not long now) So without further ado, here's chapter 14.

Chaper 14: The Fourth Great Ninja War Begins.

{Location: Hidden Cloud Hospital}

It had been a quite a bust week for everyone as they all prepared for the war. The noise of everyone rushing around and passing around their orders overwhelmed anything else that went on.

Ushido had been sleeping peacefully in a hospital bed since the moment he arrived back in the Hidden Cloud a day ago. Jonetsu sat anxiously by Ushido's side the entire time he was asleep since that moment he was put to sleep back in the ruins. Kenko would check every hour to see if she was ok or if she needed anything, seeing as how most of the other staff were busy preparing for the war and all, he was the more than happy to take care of them by himself.

Ushido had been hooked up to a small machine to feed him what he'd missed as he slept the past few days, Jonetsu barely ate, only stayed by his side and watched as he let the effects of the jutsu ware off. It was odd that the jutsu hadn't worn off by now, it usually wares off after a couple of hours, just in time for what needs to be done to be done, but this was strangely different.

Very rarely Ushido would give out a quiet moan or twitch to let them know he was fine but Jonetsu still worried. It was horrible for her to sit next to him and think up all these different scenarios of him suddenly failing on her, but Kenko would sense something was wrong and place his hand on her shoulder to reassure her. He came in again for his hourly check up on them and to deliver some news.

"Hey..." he muttered as he entered, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. "How's he doing?" he finished as he attempted to give a smile, which didn't seem to come out as well as he wanted. Jonetsu picked up on it and tilted her head.

"What's wrong, Kenko?" she asked.

"N... nothing, nothing... I just have a bot of news that you'll hate." he replied, trying to avoid eye contact because of how nervous he was. "Darui-Senpai kinda needs you to go and meet him." he finished as he finally brought himself to look her in the eyes. Her head dropped down as she reached over to grasp Ushido's hand on the bed.

"But, I can't leave is side. I need to be with him when he wakes up." she cried, tears streaming down her face. Her sobbing stopped when she felt a hand reach over and touch hers.

"Don't worry, May-Chan, you don't have to worry about me." whispered Ushido. Jonetsu raised her head in disbelief to find Ushido sitting upright on the bead, his face still bandaged from the procedure. The tears continued to flow down her cheek as she threw herself forward into Ushido's chest, surprising him more than it usually would because he's momentarily blind because of the darned bandage. He smiled as he smoothed her head and held her back. "Hey, May-Chan, how's it going?" he chuckled.

"I... I'm so glad that you're ok. I was worried that you weren't going to wake up." she cried, unwilling to let go of him.

"C'mon... I've survived the Chunin exams, taken on a group of bandits by myself, taken down three Jonin level Shinobi... have a little faith." he laughed as he carefully pulled her off. She leaned back and wiped the tears away from her face as Kenko approached from behind.

"Well, glad to see you're finally up, Ushido, I was worried I'd have to tell them you can't participate in the war." he chuckled as he leaned in. Ushido looked to where he could hear the voice come from and chuckled back.

"Just try and stop me." he replied as he pumped his fist out.

"Are you gonna be ok to participate in the war, Ushido-Kun?" asked Jonetsu, placing her hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah..." he replied as he stripped the bandages away from his face, revealing his Mangekyou Sharingan. "I'm gonna be just fine." he finished as he pushed himself up and reached for his clothes. Jonetsu looked at him in disbelief. Something was different about him. His aura had changed. He seemed more determined than he ever was and it... scared her.

Ushido threw his trousers and shirt on before throwing his jacket over his shoulder and headed towards the door. Jonetsu sighed as if to say 'same old Ushido' while Kenko looked at her as though he was asking her if he was seriously ok to leave, she nodded and followed him, leaving Kenko to quickly collect himself and follow closely before Ushido could escape his sight.

{Location: Outside the Meeting Room}

Ushido marched slowly down the hallway towards the room where he heard the Raikage would be, Jonetsu close behind him and Kenko a little further behind her, he wasn't really used to Ushido's 'marching pace' yet. Jonetsu managed to catch up and linked arms with Ushido so she wouldn't lag behind.

"Where're we going, Ushido-Kun?" she asked as she looked up to Ushido, who had a determined look on his face. He looked down at her and smiled reassuringly.

"Don't worry, May-Chan, I'm just gonna talk to him about something." he replied as he looked back up towards the door at the end of the hallway.

"But you do know that he's in an important meeting, right?" she asked, now giving a worried look.

"Hurry up, Kenko." he shouted back down the hallway. "Really? I hope he doesn't mind me crashing in, it won't be anything new." he chuckled as he stopped just outside the door and reached his hand out. Jonetsu grabbed his hand before he could attempt to open the door and looked up into his eyes.

"Think before you just go barging in there. This isn't like the old days. Didn't you notice? The five Kage are here to discuss the war." she said as Ushido's eye widened in confusion.

"How do you know that?" he asked.

"Well, simply because I noticed a few people from other villages around and the fact that Darui-Sensei and Cee-San are with them all too. Meaning that the five Kage must be here for a meeting to discuss the war." she replied with a huff. Ushido chuckled in return and lowered her hand from his.

"Don't worry, May-Chan, I won't take long with this. Wait here with Kenko." he replied as he took her arm from his and entered through to the next room.

The five Kage went silent the moment he walked through the doors, the looks they gave made him feel uneasy. Going clockwise from the twelve o'clock, facing the table, Ai, Tsuchikage, Tsunade, Samurai, Mizukage and Gaara.

The looks he received, going in that order again were, anger, judgment, intrigue, confusion, lust (to his discontent) and amusement. Ushido chuckled sheepishly as he attempted to shake the looks off. He examined the faces around the room, the Kage and Samurai and their assistants, half he can recognize that aren't from his village, the others he can't really recognize. Tsunade and Shikamaru from the Leaf and Gaara and Temari from the Sand. Ushido sucked up his nerves and stepped forward to address Ai.

"Lord Raikage, I'd like to request something from you." he said as Ai's eyebrows raised.

"Really now?" he replied, placing his hands under his chin. "And what would this, request, be?" he asked, feeling intrigued by what he could ask. Ushido took a moment to clear his throat and collect his thoughts.

"I want to... request that I be put on a one man squad in this war!" he shouted. Everyone looked shocked at such a request, what could this boy be thinking that he'd want to be alone in a war against none other than Madara Uchiha? Ai jumped to his feet.

"What?!" he shouted, slamming his fists into the table.

"Now, now, Raikage..." said the Tsuchikage as he waved his hand to calm the angry Raikage. "Let's hear what the young man has to say first."

"Thank you, Tsuchikage." said the young Uchiha as he bowed in respect. "I want to be put on a one man squad, simply because I want to take the time to search for Sasuke again. The fact that Madara has him on his side isn't good. If I can convince him to join us then we'd have some sort of advantage in the war, wouldn't we?" he finished. Everyone around the table started to look impressed at the young man and how he would look past that this man he wanted to bring to their side was the very one that killed his best friend.

"Tell me... why should we believe that you could actually bring Sasuke over to the light. If his best friend couldn't, then how can you?" asked Tsunade. Ai panicked, how could they answer?"

"Because he..."

"Because of who I am..." Ushido interrupted. He stared Tsunade straight in the eyes and took a deep breath before looking into the eyes of everyone else around the room. "My name, is Ushido Uchiha." he pronounced as everyone in the room, excluding Ai and Mabui of course, gasped in shock. "Itachi Uchiha told my mother to bring me here when he attacked the clan, but for me to live, she could not. No one else could know my real name, only those close to me. I've used the name Shinjo to get by at other times and hide my identity from anyone so I could be kept secret. I thought that maybe it would also hide me in case Itachi ever decided to finish the job and kill me too when he came looking for me, but he never did." he finished as everyone took a moment to let the information sink in. Tsunade was the first to calm herself and address him.

"You've been here all this time? No family at all? My god... I'm so sorry, Ushido, I wish there was something I could've done. I wish I knew." she wept as Ushido smiled reassuringly.

"Don't cry, Lady Hokage, I wasn't without family. I made so many friends and grew bonds with so many people here. Everyone I know and love in this village is my family." he chuckled, touching the hearts of everyone in the room. Tsunade wiped the tears from her cheek and smiled back.

"You really never cease to amaze me. I vote a yes to let him try." she exclaimed as she raised her hand. Gaara's hand shot up right after.

"I have faith in his abilities, even though I haven't seen him fight. But if the Lady Hokage trusts in him then I will too." he said as he smiled to the group.

"He's a rather fetching young man, I must say, it'd be a shame if anything happened to him. But I suppose the Uchiha men are rather... strong and know how to use their abilities accordingly." said the Mizukage as she gently raised her hand and smiled seductively at Ushido,.

"I vote yes too, I would like to see how he fares in this for himself." said the Samurai, who nodded instead of raising a hand.

"I too would like to see the young lad in action. If you all have faith in him then I will trust the next generation." said the Tsuchikage. Ai smiled as he looked up into Ushido's eyes an nodded.

"Well, young Uchiha, looks like you get your way again." he chuckled and sat down quietly. Ushido looked at them in wonder and and smiled brightly at them all.

"Thank you all. I won't fail you." he said as he pumped his fist up and turned to leave the room. Once he left, everyone smiled warmly at each other and quietly continued the discussion of the war.

{Location: Hallway}

Ushido walked past Jonetsu and a rather tired Kenko. Truth be told he practically forgot they were there in his excitement. Jonetsu noticed him pass and rushed to his side.

"Ushido-Kun, what happened in there?" she asked as she linked arms with him.

"I'm gonna be on my own squad in the war, meaning that I'll have to trust whichever squad you're with." he smiled as Jonetsu gave a look of shock.

"Your... own squad? Ushido-Kun, why would you want that?" she asked, tightening her grip on his arm.

"Well, if you loosen up on my arm I'll tell you." he shouted playfully. She apologized and loosened her grip. "Thank you... I wanted to be on my own squad so I could search for Sasuke."

"What?!" she interrupted, tightening her grip again. "Why would you do that?! Did you forget what he..." she stopped, unable to finish her sentence just from, remembering what happened. Ushido lowered his head and managed to worm out of her grip.

"I know, May-Chan, I know but... I need to find him. He needs to know that the Uchiha clan isn't completely dead. He needs to know that there's still one other member of the clan alive and trying to revive the clan's name." he replied as he stopped in front of her. "I need to do this. If you think that I shouldn't, then I'm sorry, I have to." he finished as he continued on and left her and Kenko there.

{Time Skip: Two Weeks}

{Location: Ushido's Oak Tree}

As the time went by, the village got busier and busier as they all prepared for the war. Practically every able body of each village arrived and readied themselves to be suited and equipped appropriately. Ushido noticed that his friends from the Leaf had arrived and managed to gather them by his favoured tree to chat before everything gets under way. Kiba, Shino, Choji, Shikamaru, Hinata, Sakura, Ino and Temari. Everyone greeted him and Jonetsu with warm smiles and open arms. The girls passed on many hugs and giggles with each other while the guys simply laughed and messed around. When Ushido thought it was time to bring he serious stuff in, he gathered them back together and cleared his throat before addressing them.

"Look, me, Koken and May-Chan got to know you guys rather well during the time in the Chunin exams and we're glad we did. I know it wasn't a long time together but I still think of you guys as another part of a family ad I wanna thank you guys for being who you are. I know this war is gonna be dangerous and all and we're gonna lose so many people in this war, but I want you all to know... none of you have my permission to die!" he shouted as everyone gasped at his words. "None of you are aloud to die in this war. We're all gonna survive and we're all gonna meet up after it and celebrate together. We'll hang out again like we did during the Chunin exams. We'll all be happy with no worries any more. You got that?!" he shouted as everyone stared in wonder at him. The girls felt tears escape them all fall down their cheeks while the guys smiled warmly at the young man's speech. Kiba, being Kiba, couldn't help but chuckle loudly as he jumped forward and pumped his fist out towards Ushido.

"C'mon man... not a single one of us will die, YOU got that? I mean, who the hell do you think we are?!" he shouted as the group cheered in response and gathered around Ushido and laughed together. Jonetsu stayed back and watched Ushido as she started to get a warm feeling in her stomach. This, was the reason she admired and loved him. This exact reason was why she will always love him.

{Time Skip: One Week}

{Location: Army Rendezvous}

The thousands of the Allied Shinobi Forces gather together in their respective squads and await their leaders to address them. The leaders of the squads stand at the ready high above them, examining them all as they take their place in the squad. Ushido stands alone on a rock high above them as well, just out of the way but not out of sight. A young Mist shinobi turns to his friend and whispers to him.

"Psst, hey, who's that guy up there by himself, and why's he alone?" he asked as the other mist shinobi tried to get a better look at Ushido.

"Oh... he's a Hidden Cloud shinobi. Apparently he barged in on the Kage's meeting to discuss the war and requested he be on a one man squad." he replied.

"Really? Why in the hell did he do that?" asked the first Mist shinobi.

"Who knows..." replied the other as he shrugged his shoulders and dismissed the thought completely.

Everyone started to turn their attention to the leaders above an examined them left to right.

First Company Leader: Darui.

Main Battle Reg. Second Company Chief: Kitsuchi.

Regiment and Fourth Company Leader: Gaara.

Third Company Leader: Kakashi.

Fifth Company Leader: Mifune.

Half of the crowd look in confusion at Gaara, the youngest among the leaders and begin to wonder on the decision of making him the Commander in chief.

"Will we be ok with a kid like that as Commander in chief?" asked a Stone shinobi aloud, turning a few Sand shinobi's attentions to him.

"Lord Gaara is not your average kid! Don't disparage what you know nothing about!" shouted a Sand Shinobi as he leapt for the Stone shinobi, only just being held back by a Leaf shinobi.

"Humph! How was I supposed to know? We've barely been on the same side for two minutes!" he exclaimed back.

"Watch your mouth! You want me to crush you?" shouted the Sand shinobi back at him.

"That's my line!" replied the Stone Shinobi. "You Sand shinobi killed my father! I'll avenge him by killing you!" he finished as fights slowly began to break out amongst the entire army.

The company leaders began to look quite disappointed with what was unfolding below them. Ushido could do nothing but stand back and watch, much to his discontent. It almost killed him to watch people turn on each other even though there's a greater evil threatening to wipe them out. Kakashi and Darui sighed loudly as Kakashi scratched the back of his head.

"Getting them to work together won't be easy.." he said with another loud sigh.

"What do you expect? The villages have been fighting amongst themselves throughout history." replied Kitsuchi. Darui nodded disappointedly as Mifune turned to look over to Gaara.

"Now then... what will you make of this situation? Main battle regiment. Commander in Chief." he thought as Gaara slowly stepped forward to address everyone. As he stepped out, the crowd slowly began to hush down. He carefully examined the angry, bloodthirsty faces of the shinobi before him.

"Out of nationalism, ninja have hated each other for many years, from the First to the Third Great Ninja Wars. That hatred bred a lust for power, which gave birth to me. I too used to be a Jinchuriki, the embodiment of those two vices. I hated this world and all people. I yearned to destroy both. In some ways, I was no different from the Akatsuki. But one Leaf ninja stopped me... That ninja cried for me, his enemy. He called me friend even though we had fiercely battled each other! He saved me! We were on different sides, but we were both Jinchuriki! There can be no bad blood between those who've experienced the same pain!" he pauses as many below slowly begin to release each other and become swept away in his words. "There are no enemies here in front of me! For we all bear the pain of having been hurt by the Akatsuki! There is no Sand, no Stone, no Leaf, No Mist or Cloud! We are all simply Ninja! If you still can't forgive the Sand, you can come back and face me when the war is over! That friend who saved me is now a target of our enemy! If he falls into their hands, the world as we know it is finished! I want to protect that friend! And this world! I am too young! Too inexperienced! So please... Lend me your strength!" he finished. A sudden hush fell over the entire crowd before him. Tears fell from many before a sudden roar of cheers burst out for the young Kazekage. Everyone shouted as loud as they could for him, made Ushido glad he wasn't in the middle of this deafening uproar. The shinobi could be seen apologizing to each other and shaking hands to agreeing to put their differences aside. Many kunoichi wooed for Gaara and cheered his name, one or two fainting. Ushido chuckled as he looked back up to Gaara and smiled as he stared in awe at the amazing shinobi of the Hidden Sand.

"Damn... this guy knows how to inspire thousands of people." he thought as he leaned back against the rocks behind him. Gaara looked back up to the crowd.

"All who feel as I do, follow me!" he shouted as the crowds roared out again for him. Ushido pushed himself off of the rock and turned away.

"Guess this is where I take my leave." he said to himself before leaping down the other side of the rocks, out of sight, and took his leave. Jonetsu looked up to the rocks to find Ushido and hopefully see his face quickly one last time before they leave for the war, but only saw an empty space where he used to be.

So there we are you guys. I've been looking forward to that part for such a long time. Hope you enjoyed, please rate/ review and I'll see you soon. Magnum out!
