Remembrance
"No this is Bridgette Cheng. She's Marinette's cousin" Adrien said introducing me.
"Bridgette! It's been a long time! Can I talk to you in private" Alya said pulling Nino and I out of the room. "What is this!? Who are you!"
"I'm Bridgette!" I exclaimed. Alya told Nino to go back, that she could handle me.
"Why would you lie to me? You didn't think I wouldn't recognize you?" She said letting go of my arm.
"It's not what you think" I said looking at her.
"So I don't see my best friend dressed up as her cousin who graduated over two years ago? Or the fact that Adrien saw you die!" She exploded.
"I watched you die too! I held your body in my arms begging you to come back! I watched as they put an empty casket into the ground right under the gravestone reading your name!" I yelled. "I vowed then that I would make Hawk Moth pay for what he did and in the process I died! I died and then woke up in the morgue. I knew then that as long as Hawk Moth thought the girl who knew that he knew our identities was dead then we would finally have the advantage to take him down once and for all!"
"Just tell everyone you're okay. Please Mari" Alya said grabbing my hand.
"He took everyone I cared about away from me. He took you all slowly and made me feel like it was my fault because I couldn't save any of you. I watched as our class slowly disappeared until it was me and Adrien left, but to protect his identity Adrien told me that he got akumatized and I feared having to see him die. To lose everyone all to that monster! I will succeed in defeating him and no one can know I'm alive until after." I said walking out of the school.
I could hear her running after me but I turned a corner to fast for her to see and lost her. The day Adrien saw me die I did. I didn't die physically but mentally and emotionally I did. I lost everyone I cared for to that monster and even though they were all alive now, part of me wasn't. The girl I used to be was long gone and I wasn't sure if she was ever going to come back.
The moment I walked away from my best friend was the exact moment when I decided then that I was Ladybug and Ladybug only. I wouldn't run around pretending to be Bridgette or even Marinette. I would disappear only to be seen fighting Akuma victims and the monster who hides away in his tower.
That night a patrol I met with Chat Noir but he still ignored me. Today everything was irritating me and I finally went off. "As the Superhero Duo of Paris we need to work together as a team and stop Hawkmoth once and for all!" But still he said nothing. "You're not the only one who lost someone because of him!" I yelled and finally he looked at me.
"I lost the love of my life to him! I have a right to be angry! Your parading around here like you were the first Ladybug but you weren't! Your only here because she's gone! The real Ladybug is gone and no one else should be able to wear that suit! It was her suit! She would still be here if it wasn't for the guardian!" He yelled but as the words came out he collapsed to the ground.
"I'm doing a job I swore I would finish for Ladybug. I'm doing this for her!" I exclaimed.
"I just wanted to protect her! I wanted to be the partner she deserved but I never was! I failed her all because of Hawkmoth!" He whispered.
"Then help me take Hawkmoth down once and for all. Then I will leave, I will never put this suit on again" I said knowing the cost for bringing me back to life.
"Only because he took the love of my life away!" He said "I made her a promise. One I didn't keep but now i will. Im Chat Noir protector of Paris and you're the new Ladybug. I may not like it but you are."
"He knows your identity. That was his advantage, now he doesn't know mine. First we have to go see the guardian" I said.
"No! He's the one who killed her, he's the one who took her from me" he said with hatred in his eyes.
"No he's not. Hawkmoth did that, he allowed the akuma to destroy instead of capture. He doesn't remember what happened that day. We need his help. We need more heroes. I can go alone" I said heading towards Master Fu's.
I made my way to Master Fu's, and he was waiting for me on the balcony. "Hello Ladybug." he said as I detransformed.
"Hello Master. I think it's time" I said and he nodded. He grabbed three little boxes that resembled the box my earrings came in.
"These three have worked alongside Ladybug and Chat Noir for many centuries. Find good holders for them and stop that man from winning" he said handing them to me. "The fox, the turtle, and the bee. Choose wisely because Paris may depend on it."
"I know who i'm going to pick. Thank you Master" i answered walking towards the door. "Also, I don't blame you for what happened. He took advantage of you when you were at your lowest. I may not know what will happen when all of this is over but it will be worth it."
"Good luck Ladybug. Also when you get to the turtle miraculous. Tell Wayzz I'm so sorry, actually tell them all im sorry" he said and i nodded as i left the building.
"Spots on" I said and my suit took form. It felt so weird not saying her name anymore. It felt wrong but I had things to do. The first stop was the fox. When Lila posed as a miraculous holder saying she was the fox superhero Volpina in made no sense to me. She was a liar and deep down i knew Master th didn't give her the miraculous. The fox represents deception but she also represents bravery and I knew exactly the right person.
Alya.
That was the person who would take over the fox miraculous. I knew it in my bones. She was perfect. Alya was brave and kind but she had a fire in her that needed to be awoken. I couldn't let her know that i knew her identity so I wrote three notes for each new holder and their kwami. I jumped down on her balcony and knocked on the door.
"Ahhhh" she scream from inside. "Who can climb this high!" She opened the door to find the small box and a note underneath. "That's weird. Who put this here?
'Dear Alya Cesaire,
About two weeks ago the Ladybug you knew was killed. Hawkmoth found out her identity and sent an akuma to get her miraculous. In the process it killed her but Chat Noir got the earrings. The new Ladybug needs your help to defeat him once and for all. Meet her and Chat at the Eiffel tower at 10:00 p.m tonight.
Apologies in the name of Master Wang Fu.'" she read holding the box in one hand. After done reading she put the paper aside and opened the box. A glowing orange orb popped into a little fox kwami.
"Hey I'm Trixx! I'm the fox kwami and I'm going to be the one to give you the power of illusion!" Trixx said before looking up at Alya. When she finally did she looked confused. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"The Ladybug I knew died? But Adrien said that Mari was Ladybug. I just saw Mari so how could she be dead? If Mari is alive then she should still be Ladybug" Alya cried.
"He told you who I was? Why would he do that?" I said and she jumped but looked up at me with tears still in her eyes.
"He said that we needed to know because you had died a hero and you deserved to be treated as the hero you were. He said he found you as Ladybug and you detransformed in his arms, then he took the earrings and gave them to Chat" she answered wiping her tears away. "What of that was a lie?"
"I died, I was separated from Chat and the akuma used that against me. He struck me many times as I ran for cover then his final blow hit. I was already weak and that last hit made things much worse. I remember feeling the pain and cleansing the butterfly. Chat holding me, begging me not to leave him. But most of all, I remember not feeling the pain anymore, closing my eyes for the last time. Then I woke up, in the morgue. I was alone and cold, I was scared and confused. I had my earrings but i couldn't find Tikki. That's the thing that terrified me, Tikki was missing but i still felt the connection to her" i answered. "I can hear her voice every once in awhile. She had given me life but as a result was sucked into the earrings. She can't come out and I don't know if she ever will."
"I'm so sorry you had to experience that alone Mari" Alya said looking at me with sadness in her eyes.
"Hawkmoth didn't just take you guys away from me, he took her away too. You guys were taken by an akuma but she wasn't. I will never see her again. So Alya take care of Trixx, and Trixx Master Fu does not ask for forgiveness he simply wants to say that he did something bad and that no matter how many times he says sorry he knows it wont make up for what happened but he is truly sorry."
"I can't forgive him for what he has done to you or my friend" Trixx answered from Alya's shoulder.
"Tikki and I both forgive him, just like we forgive Noroo" I said and then left.
Hi my lovelies I am so very sorry for the gap of my posting. I know it's been over a year since i last updated this story and for that I'm once again so sorry. I've had a hard time this past year and I'm slowly but surely coming out of it. Writer's Block in the worst form, but finally I can write.
I hope you all can forgive me and continue to read my stories. I will not promise updates everyday because I cannot do that but I do promise to update as much as I can. Also, I will finish this story!
