Chapter four-teen:

The Lie

The two sand siblings stood there as they both saw something that they believed that they would never see. Gaara was holding Sakura tightly as more cuts appeared. He did his best in trying to treat her injures but he knew almost nothing on how to dress a wound. Since his sand protected him from any harm. He didn't have to deal with these things thus making him clueless on what to do. Even though he couldn't feel pain on the outside on the inside he felt like if he was being torn apart. He wanted to do something. But he didn't know what.

'What do I do?' He thought to himself then it hit him 'Why?... Why is this happening?' Gaara looked down at his flower as he heard quick footsteps from behind him. Quickly he raised his hand as sand followed his movement in shaping a small wall in between him and the other person with the footsteps.

"Gaara. It's okay it's just me Temari," Temari said as took a step back from the sand that almost hit her. "I want to help. Let me see her for a bit. Maybe I can help her." Temari said hoping to see the wall of sand disappear, revealing her little brother and friend. The wall of sand still stood in front of her. Taking a small breath Temari looked at her brother. Kankuro closed his eyes and shook his head then crossed his arms. He took a step forward. He was going to do something that scared him. He was going to try convince his brother to let him and his sister to help. He took a deep breath as he walked to the wall. He hoped that Gaara would listen to him, If he did care for Sakura then he would let them help her because all in all... They were all friends. Kankuro and Temari both saw Sakura as the person who helped heal their brother in the places were people hurt him the most. His heart...

"Gaara... Please. Let us help..." Kankuro said lowly as he felt his heart beat quickly. No one tried to reason with Gaara before in fear of being killed. It was something everyone in Suna knew to well... If you get in his way then with no doubt you will be killed. Kankuro stood next to his sister as he quickly took a breath to say "If you let us help then she wont make it. So put your sand away." He saw the sand shift in place. Then it moved, only to push him away.

"Not you." Gaara said as he stood up to face his siblings. He turned to Temari "but you can" A smile came onto Temari's face as she quickly nodded. Kankuro stood up and watched his sister run to Sakura. Temari quickly sat beside her to her covered in cuts. Some bleeding and deep and others that weren't. She quickly stood up and was about rip a small piece of her sleeve til Gaara stopped her. "what do you think your doing?!" Temari answered.

"I need something to try to clean her cuts." she told him as she was about to rip a piece of her clothing. But then she heard something she turned to see what was it. She was shocked. Kankuro was surprised when he saw his brother rip a piece of this slash that held his gourd on his back... and hand it to his sister. But when she just stood there in shock he only frowned and glared. He walked to his flower and started to wipe the blood from her face when she moved a bit. Quickly Gaara picked her up and set her in a sitting position against him. He saw her open her eyes slowly. His eyes widen. His beloved flower awoke Sakura sat up and quickly put her hand on her right arm.

"Whats wrong?!" Gaara said as he quickly grabbed her. "Is it broken?!" Sakura shook her head as she tried to stand up. Gaara helped her up and help a tight grip so she won't fall again.

"What happened?" Sakura said as she looked around she took a step forward and fell but to be caught by Gaara. She looked around her "Wait! Where's my team?!" Sakura asked as quickly stood up straight. Gaara felt anger inside when his flower asked for her team.

'after what they done to her... She still worries for them.' Gaara thought to himself. 'She's not going back to them... I won't let them keep using her like they have been' Gaara told himself as he felt his inner demon smile and give of a mischivous smile.'I need to keep her from going back to them.. But how...?' He was thinking quickly as he could til a voice from his mind spoke.

'Lie. What else can you do?' his demon spoke. He said with a tone that made him sound like that what he said was right. 'Say that found her where her team was and brought her with you. Then she'll follow you' Gaara stood there listening. Then he looked up at Sakura and said repeated what his demon said. He saw how his flower's eyes started to fill up as she looked down. Quickly Gaara wrapped his arms around her in comfort as he felt her shiver and could faintly hear her say as if she was speaking to herself that she right. She wasn't good enough and that she was holding them back.

'They... Made even made her feel like this...' He felt anger grow inside him 'They will pay for this..' He thought to himself.

The two sand siblings couldn't believe what they were seeing and what they just heard. Temari looked at Kankuro and said lowly "Did Gaara really just lie?!" She asked him in a fierce whisper. Kankuro nodded as he reply in another whisper.

"Yeah he did. He's making Sakura's team look like they abandoned her in battle or something." He give a sigh "Well then, I guess she going to stay with for the rest of the exams" he told his sister as they both wacth Sakura speak to their brother.

"Thank you Gaara but I think it's best I leave and look for my group." Sakura said as Gaara's sadden after his offer of staying was rejected. "If they did what they did... Im sure i'll just slow down your team.." She told him as she crossed her arms. "I don't to be a burden.." Gaara quickly pulled her into a hug as he told her lowly.

"Sakura... You took me in when no did. You will never slow me down because.. You are not a burden.."

And thats that.. I am so happy to see that this story has the same amount of review as the first. It makes me happy to read that people liked my first story and they are enjoying this one as well. So Thank-you! Reviews like those make me feel like writing more chapters. Also.. I am so sorry I didn't post a chapter in a long time.. I apologize I haven't been home lately because my family first left to celebrate my birthday/ visit family and in around a week we'll be leaving again. I'll try to post one more before I leave again.
