At the party, Meili distanced herself a little from Ren, as the words he said to her shook her to the core. He respected that and awaited her approach. Masato noticed the tension between the two and went to confront his cousin to see what was the matter.

"Going on how you two talk on your video chats, you would be with Jinguji right now…but you're not." He said to her with concern. "What happened to make you avoid him all of a sudden?"

"Out of the blue after our last song…he told me." Meili answered, blushing a little. "I just don't know what to say to him right now, so I'm avoiding him a little…"

"Tell him what's on your heart right now."

"That's easier said than done, Masato-kun, when your feelings are all scrambled." – she paused – "Oh that's right. How would you know how that feels when you know exactly how you feel about Nanami-chan?"

Masato's cheeks instantly flared up and that's when Meili knew her assumptions had been correct. "How?" was all he could utter with shock.

"I know you Masato-kun, especially when you happen to have a girl you like in your life." Meili smirked, feeling a little more like herself now that she wasn't in the spotlight. "I also know that there happens to be five other guys with an interest in Nanami-chan. You should probably take the chance and tell her, while she's still available…"

Her cousin was silent with narrowed eyes aimed at her, until he thought of something and smirked right back. "I might do so…after you tell Ren."

"Urk!" Meili flinched, and then scowled at him with a growl. She then calmed down, and turned her gaze to Ren, who was currently standing outside, alone. Letting out a sigh, she faced her cousin once more. "Fine I'll go tell him…but I'm holding you to it that you'll tell Nanami-chan!"

"Of course."

The two then shook hands, sealing the deal, and Meili made her approach towards Ren.

Once she had taken a few steps out towards him he said, "You still haven't given your response to my confession Meili…"

She was silent as she continued her approach, thinking about what to say to him. "Ren…" she said before continuing with aggravation. "I don't know what to respond with…A lot of things have been going on, and I don't know where my feelings stand because I feel so…all over the place."

"If you need your space to figure it all out, I'll step away and let you do so." Ren replied seriously. "But you've got to at least hear me out." – he kept an even gaze at Meili as he continued – "From the moment I met you again, I knew you were different from the other females. I didn't know it at first, but the way you resisted me…only made me want you even more…" – he saw Meili's eyes widen and her cheeks go red – "I know it sounds selfish, but when you broke off our partnership, I only blamed myself for not ever being able to see you again. And then you left, taking my heart with you Meili."

By the time he was done speaking, she was beet red and speechless. Never had she thought that he had changed so much since they last interacted with each other. Now she really didn't know what to think.

"R-Ren..." Meili stated hesitantly. "I had no idea…"

"You know how I was before with my…"

"Fan club?"

"Yes. Well I'm different now. I want only you by my side, Meili…"

With that statement and the sincerity seen in his eyes Meili's mind was cleared of uncertain thoughts, and she knew how he felt about their situation. After all, Masato made it apparent to her that they both withheld their true feelings. That is, until now. Meili knew how she felt now, and Ren and Masato made it clear to her. She loved him, just as much as he loved her, and she was going to tell him.

"Ren…to be honest, at first you drove me up the wall with the way you flirted with me. In fact, I despise flirty types. I just wanted you to leave me alone." Meili said, becoming more determined with each word she spoke. "Now, I don't ever want to leave your side when I've come back to you. I kept my promise, and I think you know what that means…" – she gazed into his eyes and smiled – "If I'm your Princess, then I want you to be my Prince, because I love you too, Jinguji Ren."

Ren returned the smile, before inching closer to her for a kiss.

Immediately she pulled away and asked, "What do you think you're doing Jinguji Ren?"

"I was hoping to share a kiss with you Meili." Ren replied honestly, looking a little hurt. "I'm sorry…"

Meili's serious expression became soft and she cracked a smile. "I'm just messing with you Ren!" She then closed the gap between them, as the two shared their first kiss under the glow of the moon and the twinkling stars…

And that's the end. I thank you all for the positive feedback, as I had been planning to rewrite this for a while (seeing as the original had not so positive feedback). All in all, I'm quite happy with this version to lay it to rest.
