Dean-
October-Two Months-
Aly was late to work. I grabbed my cell phone and called her.
"Hello", someone answered.
"Brie?", I asked.
"Yes Dean, how can I help you?", she asked.
"Is Alyssa okay? She didn't come in and I'm worried", I said.
"Oh, Hunter didn't tell you. She called in sick, you and Roman are partners. I can't believe he didn't tell you either", she said.
"Aly's sick?", I asked.
"Yes, but it's just morning sickness, relax. If it was worse I would have called you", she said.
Brie and Roman were shocked at first when we told them about the baby, then it turned into excitement.
"Are you positive? She was sick all day yesterday", I said.
"Dean, she's fine. Sleeping as we speak", she said.
I took a deep breath. I knew Brie would have called me if it was serious.
"Okay, make sure she drinks a lot of water and at least eats something. I'll go and check on her at lunch", I said.
"I know Dean", she said.
I knew she was smiling.
"Ambrose", she said.
"Yeah?", I asked.
"You're in love with her, aren't you? It's not just about the baby", she said.
"Just take good care of her", I said.
"I will", she said.
I set my phone down and Hunter came over, he set a small basket on my desk.
"What's this?", I asked.
"I told my wife Aly was pregnant and she told me to give this to her. It's ginger and lemon flavored lollipops. My wife swears they helped her with her morning sickness. Also saltine crackers and ginger ale.", he said.
I nodded.
"Thanks, Aly's been miserable", I said.
"Has she snapped at you yet?", he asked.
I shook my head no.
"I mean, sometimes it looks like she's on the verge of doing it but she walks away", I said.
He patted my back.
"Don't take it personal if she does, mood swings", he said.
I nodded.
"Tell your wife thanks", I said.
He nodded and walked away. Roman came over and looked at the basket.
"What's that?", he asked.
"From Hunter's wife for Aly", I said.
"She still sick?", he asked.
I nodded and picked up the basket to put in my truck so no one can take a candy. We walked out and I quickly placed the basket in the back.
"Seth said you didn't spend the night at home all week", he said as we got into the patrol car.
"I've been staying on Alyssa's couch. Why do they call it morning sickness if she's sick all day?", I said.
Roman chuckled and shrugged.
"Beats me", he said.
"I'm going to check on her at lunch, want to come?", I asked.
"Yeah, I'll take Brie something to eat", he said.
"Hey, thanks for letting her stay with Aly during the day", I said.
"Even if I told her not too she would be there", he said.
I nodded.
Alyssa-
"I hate him", I said into the toilet.
Brie laughed.
"You do not", she said.
I flushed the toilet and stood, washing out my mouth.
"One minute I'm hungry and the next I want to puke. One second I want to jump him and the next I want to smack him", I said, climbing back into bed.
She joined me and brushed my hair back, her nails lightly scratching my scalp, it felt good.
"Don't stop doing that", I said into the pillow.
She giggled.
"So you want to jump him?", she asked.
"You better not tell him I said that", I said.
"I won't", she said.
"It's just, he smells so good and when he walks or bends over his butt. Then he licks his lips and I don't even think he knows he does it", I said.
She laughed.
"Tell him you want to have sex. Your body craves it and by the way you talked about him you damn sure as hell want it, bad", she said.
"I'm not gonna tell him that", I said.
There was a knock at the door.
"That's the guys", she said, jumping up.
I slowly stood and walked out into the living room. Dean looked over at me and smiled, dimples on his cheeks. Man did he look good in his uniform. I wanted to rip it off him, I shook my head and sighed.
"I brought you lunch and Hunter's wife Stephanie had this made for you. She said these help with the sickness", he said, handing me the basket.
"Tell him thank you", I said.
He nodded and placed his hand on my forehead.
"You're burning up darlin", he said.
His voice was so sexy I almost moaned.
"Brie called my doctor, he said it's normal", I said.
He nodded and his hand went to my cheek. I'm sure they were warm too.
"Maybe I should take the rest of the day off", he said.
"No, I'm fine Dean. I'll be here when you get off work", I said.
He nodded. He placed his hand on my flat stomach. I noticed he loved doing that since finding out I was pregnant.
"Please eat something", he said.
"I'll try", I said.
He and Roman sat down to eat their lunch. I grabbed one of the lollipops and hoped it helped. Brie sat beside me.
"Ask him to move in", Brie said.
"I'm not gonna do that", I said.
"He's here everyday, why not?", she pointed out.
"Because then I would really jump him and I probably won't get off", I said.
Brie laughed.
"He likes you, he want to be with you", she said.
"Brie, I just can't", I said.
She nodded.
Dean-
After work, I stopped by my apartment and grabbed an extra change of clothes.
"I forgot you lived here", Seth said.
I chuckled.
"I just don't want to leave her alone, especially with her being sick all day", I said.
He nodded.
"It's cool", he said.
"I'll see you at work tomorrow", I said.
He nodded and I left. Getting to Aly's, I walked right in. She smiled.
"Hey", she said.
"Hi, did you eat yet?", I asked.
"I'm scared to try, the lollipops helped a lot", she said.
"Good", I said.
I set my bag down by the door.
"You don't have to stay Dean, I'll be fine by myself", she said.
"Not a chance, not till I know you aren't going to get sick like you are", I said.
She nodded. I walked into the kitchen and made her a sandwich, handing it to her.
"Come on, you gotta eat", I said.
She took it and took small bites. I sat beside her and ate mine.
"How was work?", she asked.
"Fine, missed you", I said.
"I'm sure Roman was good company", she said.
"Not as good as yours", I replied.
