Hey guys. I sincerely apologize for disappearing for months on end. School and all those same old excuses.
She skips into school that morning
humming her current favorite song.
It's the last day before winter break,
and her parents have promised her that they can go up to
the house in Connecticut for Christmas.
She's also quite certain that her mystery boy
will have left something on her desk that morning.
"Hiya, Mal!" She chirps happily as she sidles up next to her best friend.
He gives her a wide grin and waves.
"Hi, Natara."
She plops down next to him on the ground and fishes in her bag for
the small present she has wrapped there.
"Merry Christmas!" She kisses his cheek
and giggles when his face turns red.
Their teacher comes and retrieves their class to come inside.
"Looks like you've got a secret admirer, Natara,"
Mrs. Fisher comments.
A little snowman is sitting atop her desk.
She smiles and picks it up.
It's made out of a sock and tied off with rubber bands
and it feels as if it's stuffed with raw beans.
The bottom of it is a light brownish color.
The quickly reads the note that was left underneath it;
"Sorry it's all dirty. I accidentally spilled hot cocoa on it."
She doesn't mind.
She thinks it makes him more realistic
and she carries the snowman around with her all day.

She kissed him.
She kissed him and she had liked his gift
and she seemed so happy today.
That made him happy.
This had been the best day ever.
