Hey Guys. I'm back! I thought about posting a chapter today just the night before I finally turn 14. My exams are till 14 March though and the next chapter will be out on 14 or 15. Please watch out for it.
INHUMAN
(CASSIE'S POV)
As soon as I caught my conscious, I looked up to the ceiling. Where was I? This was neither a hospital nor my house. I could tell it wasn't a hospital because of those soap operas that Rachel watches, the ones in which heroines usually end up in hospital after some crazy accidents. Whatever. I pushed myself up after remembering what had happened. I couldn't feel any pains or injuries but if I was in fire, they were supposed to be, right? So, was this accident also crazy? Yeah, of course it was because it wasn't actually an accident. This was what my sixth sense told me.
"Cass, you up?" Brady was lying on the ground.
"What is this place?" I asked.
"Wait a sec! You remember who you are?!" he asked.
"What a time to pull up on me, isn't it?" I said.
"Sorry." He apologized.
"My answer?" I asked.
"We're at… the sucker's residence." He replied.
"WHAT!?" I asked.
"Why what?" he asked.
"Paul will kill you for sure." I replied.
"Paul won't kill him because Paul got you here." Paul appeared from the door.
"So, basically why did Paul get me here?" I asked him.
"Why don't you guys snuck off the Paul thing? Talk in normal language." Brady said.
"Alice, Cassie is up." Paul said. I guess Alice was the one with short hair, the pixie one.
"Good morning!" she said and I looked outside from the window.
"Do vampires call night as morning?" I asked.
"No silly. It's three o'clock in the morning." She said. "Rose get the candle!"
"You guys are gonna try and burn me?" I joked.
"No, just a normal test." This was Renesmee's voice that came from Rosalie's back.
"Stop confusing her and start the test." Carlisle said.
"What test?" I asked. Paul burnt the candle and kept it on the small table in front of me.
"Focus on it." Paul commanded.
"Why?" I asked.
"You'll get the answer in some minutes." Alice said. I focused on the flames of the candle. For some seconds, nothing happened but like in the 11th second, they increased multiplied by 10.
"OH MY GOD!" Renesmee squealed.
"What?" I asked and they all stared at me.
"You think I made that happen? It's just some; I don't know what gas reaction."
"Then check this out." Alice turned a small hand mirror in front of my face. My face was the same but when I looked in the eyes…
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I shouted. "What the hell has happened to my eyes?"
My eyes weren't blue right now. They had turned violet, a really beautiful violet color like that of lavender.
"You guys ain't pulling my leg, are you?" I ordered.
"If there were any plastic lenses, they could've melted because you were really close to this fire." Rosalie, the blonde one answered. She was so beautiful, even for a vampire. Her hair was waist length. Okay, cut that off right now. Get to my eyes.
"So?" I asked.
"So, what?" Paul asked.
"I still don't know what disease or something it is." Carlisle said.
"You mean I'm not a normal human?!" I asked.
"Better let's Google it." Rosalie said went to a laptop kept on a table, right next to the giant piano. Man, I want one like that for my birthday.
They searched for a while and I kept looking in the hand mirror, in some minutes, the violet color started fading back to my original sapphire color.
"You didn't say anything on this?" I asked Brady who was sitting next to me, worried.
"I don't know any of this. I'm confused." He said.
"What about?" I asked.
"I don't know. I'm kinda worried." He said.
"Aw!" I said.
"Is there something like this Makabah tribe thing?" Rosalie said. My ears turned up.
"Wait! That book in the library. I mean my book that I left in the library. It's all about Makabah tribe. From A to Z." I said and went to sit next to Rosalie.
"Can I see?" I asked her politely.
"Here" She handed me the mouse. I read each and every thing. Oh my gosh! This was certainly… I don't know what to say.
"I'm one of them." I broke in slowly.
"An elementalist?" Rosalie asked and I nodded.
"So, you think you control fire?" Alice asked and I nodded again. This was it. My mother was an elementalist and… no, maybe my father was and that was the reason why mom doesn't want to tell me about him in reality.
"Mom knew about this." I said.
"How can you be so sure?" Paul asked.
"I think I got this from my dad. He is an elementalist, maybe." I said.
"Why just your dad? I mean even our mom could be one of them." Paul asked.
"Mom doesn't tell me anything about him. She's never ever told me what his real name is all I know is that his last name is Simons." I said. "We need to talk to mom about this."
"Where's that book?" Paul asked.
"It's in the library I guess." Brady said.
"No, it's with me." Seth appeared from the main door.
"Seth!" Renesmee ran to him and hugged him. Hayley appeared from behind. I know she must be worried. Main thing to notice was that Hayley wasn't moving ahead of him as if she was worried. Yeah, she was in a house full of vampires. What else could anyone expect from a normal human?
"Hayley, are you still scared?" I asked.
"Don't touch me anyone. I have garlic in my pocket and pumpkin too." She said. This was a matter of laughing.
"Hayley, garlic doesn't affect them." Seth said.
"And they don't kill humans." Brady said.
"Seriously?" she asked.
"You can touch them without the fear of getting bitten." I said. "Otherwise Carlisle would've never been a doctor."
"Nessie, you're too a vampire?" Hayley asked.
"I'm a hybrid – half and half." She said.
"So, what's the result? Are you okay?" Hayley asked me.
"You remember that book I got from Santa Paula – the old legends of Makabah tribe? I'm from Makabah tribe." I said.
"You're an elementalist? Cooool." She said. "What's your element?"
"Fire, I guess." I said.
"Now what?" Brady asked.
"No what, what?" I asked.
"What's with the Makabah tribe thing? I mean what we should do now?" he asked.
"Let's just not do anything till mom and dad comes back. I think we should talk to them about this." Paul said.
Later, we went back home. Soon after, Paul called Dad and asked them to come back. Dad said that mom and he would be back next week. I didn't go to school the next day because of the homeroom activity we had to do which contained the use of fire that I couldn't do because of the eye color shifting thing. This was a pain, a serious pain.
I kept reading the whole day. My ancestors were just so cool. I mean Hayley's style Cooool. The ones that could control air could even fly, I mean not literally. That was damn awesome. I understood the reason why my abilities got uncovered. The reason was that the powers usually get uncovered once your own element becomes the reason of your fatality. Then comes the control. Next thing I got to know was that my eyes were a rare case in all. Usually the fire controller's eyes are brown or violet but if not, they shift colors. Then the air controllers have a grey pair of eyes or the shift. Then the water controllers have light blue and at last the land controller has brown or green.
In the afternoon, Brady called up on my new shiny cell phone with the only problem that it was Paul's old SIM in this one. Yeah, I loved this one. He asked me to come over and Seth and Hayley were already there doing homework as Brady had to babysit Mark because he wasn't well. Paul left me there and gave me a strict warning not to go near fire for some time till we don't get the color shifting under control. So at least I could cover up the extra math questions that Brady told me Mrs. Darin had given. I rung the bell and it was Hayley who opened the door.
"Hi Cassie!" she said.
"Hey." I said and went in. "What are you guys doing?"
"We're on videogames right now." She said.
"What else could I expect?" I muttered.
"Brady just locked in his brother. That dude is a serious one." She said and we reached the living room where Seth and Brady were playing the play station 3 – Both of them pushing each other, in the game as well in reality.
"Hey Cassie!" Seth said, totally busy in the game.
"Hey blue eyes!" Brady said.
"So, you guys are just chillin' out rather than doing homework?" I asked.
"Duh." Hayley said.
"And Mark?" I asked.
"He's busy on FB." Brady said. "And you were coming that's why I locked him."
"He would complain to your mom and dad?" I asked laughingly.
"No, he would irritate you." Brady said. "And the eye color thing."
"Any more info about your Makabah tribe?" Hayley asked.
"Yeah, my ancestors were Cooool. I mean tornadoes, tsunamis etc stuff." I said.
"Wanna switch Cassie?" Seth asked.
"Oh, you bet." I said.
"You think you can play?" Brady asked.
"Don't cry after you lose." I said and switched places with Seth. Basically this was a road racing gaming. Brady and I were trying our best to win and after twenty minutes…
"I told you!" I said after I won.
"How is that possible?" Brady asked.
"I already said 'Don't cry after you lose.'" I said.
"Guys, let's get to the homework." Hayley said. We did our homework for two hours at most and then, Seth went to leave Hayley at her place. Brady was explaining me the factorization.
"I still don't get it. Why do we place the 'x' under 13?" I asked.
"See, it's in the expansion and when you expand it by the 3rd identity, it becomes an individual and here you place it." Brady expanded the whole sum and explained. Gosh! He was a good explainer and math wasn't exactly my thing. I could do it well once it understood it well. "You get it now?"
"Yeah." I said and sometime later, when my homework was done, the doorbell rang.
"Must be mom and dad." he said and went to open the door of Mark's room and I went to open the door.
"Hi Mr. Fuller, hey Mrs. Fuller!" I said.
"Hi Cassie!" they said in unison. When we walked up to the living room, Mrs. Fuller said:
"You were doing homework?" she asked.
"Yeah, actually I couldn't go to school today. Kinda sick." I excused.
"Sick of school?" Mr. Fuller asked.
"No, actually …" I was cut off when we heard Mark shouting on Brady and then we saw them. Mark was angry, I don't know for what reason, though. He had hit his spurt. Was he gonna phase? He was two or three inches less than Brady today but the last time I had seen him, the difference was about seven or eight inches. Mark was even shorter than me at that time.
"Leave me you sick dog." He said to Brady. I actually didn't like him saying that. Girly instincts, I can't bear anything someone says for Brady.
"Mark go back to your room." Brady struggled to push him back. Brady and I had an eye contact. I mouthed silently – is he gonna phase?
He replied by lipsing a yes and nodded.
"OMG." I muttered.
"Mark is that the way to talk to your elder brother?" Mrs. Fuller asked.
"No, it's certainly not but he's a pain to me right now!" Mark said.
"Outside, take him outside. He needs air." I said.
"What?" Mr. Fuller asked.
"You know that's a good way to control anger. Breathe in, breathe out, Breathe in, breathe out, Breathe in, breathe out, Breathe in, breathe out." I lied.
"Now what?" Brady mouthed. I shrugged my shoulders. Gosh! I didn't know what to do?
"What is this going on Mark Fuller?" Mr. Fuller asked.
"Take him outside, right now." I said.
"We've gotta talk young man." Mr. Fuller said. "And no one is going anywhere!"
Brady kept pushing Mark to reach the door. Brady's parents didn't know yet what Brady is and what blood do they carry in their veins. The parents were following their sons but here, I needed to stop them. I tried my best to convince them to stay inside and then when we reached the door, Brady threw Mark on the ground. I tried to get them in the house and big bada boom… here it was. Mark phased and turned into a grey and black combination. It was my third time seeing a wolf in reality after Paul and Seth. I hadn't yet seen Brady.
"Oh my god!" saying this, Mrs. Fuller collapsed.
"What do we do now?" Brady asked me.
"Do one thing, call Cole and the others. I bet your parents need an explanation." I said after I saw Mr. Fuller's almost white face, half out of conscious. Brady called and they all came in their wolf forms. Brady and I helped them go in the house and made them sit on the sofas. I sprinkled water on Mrs. Fuller's face. She got up and caught Mr. Fuller.
"Mark-you-what-how-dogs-change-why?" Mrs. Fuller babbled.
"Mom, I can explain." Brady said. "Calm down."
"I need an explanation!" they both said in unison.
"Your brother just turned into a horse sized dog and you think I can keep calm? How did this happen and why?!" she shouted.
"The harbor legends are true. Spirit warriors did exist and we all are their descendants. All of my friends too." Brady said.
"Our son turns to a horse sized dog. Did you know any of this Allen?" Mrs. Fuller said.
"No, not at all." Mr. Fuller said.
"I can explain everything." Brady said.
"And Cassie?" he asked. "You don't turn into a wolf, do you?"
"No, mine is a bit crazier." I said.
"I first want to know what is this all about." Mrs. Fuller asked.
"Okay, then mom you need to give me some time to explain…" Brady went on with how he phased and how this occurs and the most time he took was explaining imprinting and his blood line that was related to the Clearwaters.
"So, you mean that you will both stay together, forever?" Mrs. Fuller asked.
"Yes." Brady said.
"So, Mark will also imprint?" she asked.
"Yes."
"He'll stop flirting with other girls?"
"Yes."
"He'll settle up?"
"Yes."
"So, you both will get married?"
"Yes… what?" Brady babbled. What did she just say? Oh great, I was blushing.
"Monica?" Mr. Fuller asked.
"Aw! The kids are blushing!" she said.
"I'll better go and look for Mark." Brady said.
"Yeah, I'll back up home. My homework is almost over." I said.
"We'll meet later, Cassie. Bye." They said while we were getting to the door.
