Hey ya'll. Sorry for not updating for quite the while, but I had really hard writing this time. Writers block I guess since the story hasn't gone as I expected it would.
*I don't own anything except the story itself*
Enjoy!
Chapter 14
CPOV
It was closing in to the end of Romeo and Juliet. Clary had learnt her lines perfectly, so had Jace and everyone else who was in this project. Magnus was probably the only one in class who could do Romeo without any help since the start, and it made Clary smile. He was a perfect Romeo, with the passion. A gay, glittering Romeo. Clary laughed to herself. She had kissed Magnus several times since the teachers had chosen him and Clary enjoyed it. He was soft and easy, not like Sebastian. Clary shivered to herself. The thought of Sebastian made her uneasy.
Magnus was standing in front of Clary and did his lines without any problem. "Lady, by yonder blessed moon I swear, that tips with silver all these fruit-tree tops –"
Clary, or her character Juliet, cut him midsentence and went on with her own. "O, swear not by the moon, the inconstant moon. That monthly changes in her circled orb, lest that thy love prove likewise variable."
She looked dreamy on Romeo and thought of Jace. He loved her and she loved him. They didn't need to swear on the moon. They didn't need to swear on anything, it was something that would come by itself. He was watching them perform, like the rest of the team who hadn't a part in their scene.
"What shall I swear by?" Magnus smiled and stepped forward, coming closer to Clary. Clary smiled lightly.
"Do not swear at all; Or if thou wilt, swear by thy gracious self, Which is the god of my idolatry, And I'll believe thee."
Magnus put an innocent hand on Clary's cheek. "If my heart's dear love-"
"Well, do not swear: although I joy in thee, I have no joy of this contract to-night; It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden; Too like the lightning, which doth cease to be Ere one can say It lightens. Sweet, good night! This bud of love, by summer's ripening breath, May prove a beauteous flower when next we meet. Good night, good night! as sweet repose and rest Come to thy heart as that within my breast!"
Clary said it with passion, always had her mind on Jace, even though she was looking at Magnus. She had put her right hand on her chest, over her heart. It was beating fast.
"O, wilt thou leave me so unsatisfied?", Magnus, or Romeo, asked with a smirk on his lips. It was a teasing question. He was leaning in, not for a kiss, not yet at least.
"What satisfaction canst thou have to-night?", Clary asked teasingly, smirking. She knew how to play with Romeo's feelings, and by asking this it would give him a reason to kiss her. Because that's what she wanted as well, or Juliet.
"The exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine." Magnus had a serious face now as he gave Clary a small kiss on her lips. She flushed slightly; she was still a bit uncomfortable with being kissed on stage. And by someone else who wasn't Jace.
"I gave thee mine before thou didst request it; And yet I would it were to give again." Clary's voice faltered a bit, which made Magnus smile wide. He enjoyed his way of affecting Clary, even though none of them were interested.
"Would'st thou withdraw it? for what purpose, love?"
"But to be frank and give it thee again. And yet I wish but for the thing I have; My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite. I hear some noise within: dear love, adieu!—", Clary turned to see Emma Carstair, the nurse in the play, approaching, "Anon, good nurse!-Sweet Montague, be true. Stay but a little, I will come again."
This time, Clary gave Magnus a peck on the lips and went backstage to "talk with her nurse".
"You did well, Clary", Emma said enthusiastically. She was always nice and caring, even though she could be moody at times.
"Thank you, Emma", Clary said. She smiled to her classmate who just complimented her. It made her happy. Magnus came backstage as well. He was smiling widely, still not forgetting that he is Romeo. He looked at Clary and winked.
"You got some glitter", Magnus said and pointed to his lips. Clary flushed again.
"I wouldn't be surprised if your blood contained glitter", Clary teased Magnus and tried to remove the glitter from her lips. Emma was laughing as she went to the stage.
Clary was unaware of someone coming closer to her and when she felt two hands on her shoulders she gave out a small scream. Magnus was laughing as Clary turned around.
"Seriously, not cool, Goldilocks!", Clary punched Jace on his shoulder. He laughed.
"Always as cute, little red", he said.
"I'll just let you two lovebirds be alone", Magnus said and went out from backstage, "see you guys at lunch."
When Magnus disappeared Jace kissed Clary. He put his hands around her waist, pulling her closer to himself. She smiled against his lips and when they broke the kiss they were breathing heavily.
"How are you?", Clary asked, thinking about Jace's mother. She had woken up more often now and could communicate before she fell asleep again.
"I'm better. Mom asked about you yesterday", Jace answered.
Clary had visited Celine, but it was a while since the Sebastard-dilemma and now her overprotecting parents.
"That's great. Can I come with you today?", Clary asked shyly. None of their parents knew about their new developed relationship. Clary knew how they would react, especially her own parents who would probably not let Jace come to their house during the nights.
"Clary, I told her about us", Jace blurted out, "you can come with me today, if you want to."
Clary froze for a second. One out of four parents know now. This went fast, but Clary was happy that at least someone knew and she guessed her mother suspected them. She smiled to Jace.
"Great, I can't wait."

JPOV
Clary was beside Jace all the time on their way to the hospital. They were walking and talked about the play. It was a cold, late November day. They were hooked up arm in arm. An old habit that was hard to change.
"I can't believe it's finally over", Clary said happily, "it's been a rollercoaster all this time."
"Oh my sweet Juliet", Jace teased her, "what will you do without Magnus and all his lovely?"
"I can always call him, since I got his number", Clary winked. Luckily Jace didn't have to worry about Magnus doing anything to her since he was already in a relationship. With Alec according to Isabelle.
Jace laughed and Clary accompanied him. "You don't need his number when you have me, little red."
"I'll miss his glitter, though."
They walked in to the grey hospital. It had a clean smell all over the place and a few people looked happy in the room, the rest had a sad face. Jace shivered as he approached the information desk. "I'm looking for-"
Jace was cut by the receptionist who ended his sentence; "Celine Wayland."
Clary looked at Jace, she was giving him an amused look.
"I've come here a lot", Jace said casually.
"I know", Clary mumbled. She was nervous, Jace could see it in the way she acted and bit her lower lip. He took her hand and intervened their fingers together, squeezing them to know he was there. She looked up at Jace, she was grateful for his presence.
"Thank you."
They silently walked to the room where Jace's mother was in. It was the same room since the first day they had sent her there. Somehow now it seemed much lighter since his mother had woken up and was half sitting on her pillow with a small smile on her lips. She was happy to see her son. She then turned her face to Clary and smiled even wider when she registered their hands locked in each other.
"Hello Clarissa", she firstly said and Clary went to Celine and gave her a hug.
"Hello Mrs Wayland. Hope you are feeling better", Clary said with concern in her voice. She always cared about others and this wasn't something she said just out of pity or something. It made Jace happy that he had such a good friend, or as he now could call her, girlfriend. He also knew his mother like Clary more than just Jace's best friend. She was the daughter she never had.
"Hi mom, I'm here as well", Jace waved jokingly.
"I almost forgot", Celine joked back and opened her arm for Jace to step in into when Clary stepped away from their embrace.
Jace hugged his mother tightly. He wanted her out of the hospital, which would happen within two weeks. She was still on hard medication and the doctors controlled her blood levels everyday, just in case.
"How are you?", Jace asked her as he let go and sat down on the chair next to Clary.
"I'm better, still fighting this all", Celine answered. It was still hurtful for her to be in the hospital, she missed her son and husband. She missed her normal and simple life before the accident. "How's your father?"
"He's fine, he's on a business-trip, but will be home by tomorrow", Jace answered. Celine nodded and turned to Clary. She was observing the redheaded girl who had caught her son's interest. It wasn't like she didn't know Clary for all those years, but somehow she had to make sure it was the same girl as before.
"How are your parents, Clary?"
"They are… fine. Maybe a bit tired", Clary said thoughtfully, "they have been working a lot but they said to send their greet."
Jace knew it was half true. They were tired because of the incident as well, but that wasn't something neither of them would bring up right now to Jace's mother.
"Sooo, how long have you two been holding this a secret? Do your parents know?", Celine asked curiously.
It wasn't a harsh question and Jace saw how Clary's cheek began to blush. It was a cute sight, Jace had always love when she was blushing since it made her innocent. Clary had turned her head to Jace. He could see she wanted him to answer the question, but it was meant to her.
"Well, it was quite recently this all happened I guess. The change of our relationship status", Clary took a deep breath, she was still blushing, "my parents doesn't know, unfortunately."
Celine smiled. "I hope you two are protected."
Clary froze, her eyes wide as if they were going to jump out of their sockets as her face was turning beet red. Jace coughed violently. They should be lucky I wasn't drinking anything.
"Mom, seriously", Jace whined. It was as embarrassing for him as it was for Clary, "we already know about that stuff."
"Don't worry Mrs W", Clary manages to say. Then the room turns silent. Jace's mother is watching between Clary and Jace many times.
"I always knew you two would end up together. You have the chemistry few people had, since you were children. I just never knew you two would dare to take the step", Celine said proudly. She was never embarrassed to talk about these kinds of subjects and she like to see her son blush from time to time. Sneaky mother.
"W-wow, ehm. I-I don't know what t-to say", Clary stuttered.
The door to the room was opened by a male doctor. He was looking between the patient and her two visitors who were really red. He smiled. Saved by the doctor.
"I'm sorry, but I have to run some test on Mrs Wayland", he said. Jace sighed. He didn't want to leave his mother yet.
Clary nodded and stood up. She hugged Celine tightly and Celine whispered something to Clary's ear. When they let go, Celine moved her eyes to Jace. They were sad, but she was still smiling.
"Doctor, can my mother attend to my play?", Jace suddenly asked the doctor. Remembering that they had their premier soon and wanted his mother to be there.
"Yes, she can. If the results approve it", the doctor said.
Jace turned to face his mother as he approached her. He hugged his mother tightly.
"I love you, mom."
.o.O.o.
The duo was in Jace's house. They were in the kitchen. Clary was leaning on the onyx coloured island. She was watching Jace carefully, every move he made while looking for something to drink.
"What did my mother whispering to you in the hospital?", Jace asked curiously. He wanted to know what his mother had said.
"Oh, nothing important", Clary answered casually, but Jace could hear it in her voice that it was something. I'll make her tell me soon.
"Nope you won't." Jace heard Clary sing.
"Did I say that out loud?"
"Yup", Clary said, popping the p, "And I won't tell you. Did you find something to drink?"
"Sprite or coke, little red?", Jace asked and popped his head out of the fridge. He was holding a can of coke and a can of sprite.
"Sprite", Clary answered. She had stopped getting bothered by her nickname, "what do you want to do now?"
Jace was silent, trying to come up with something to do. They usually discussed random things or watched a movie, but he didn't feel to do that now. He handed Clary her sprite and she took it, their hands touching. Then Jace smirked. He didn't let go of the can. Clary looked confused down to their hands and then up to face Jace. He was closer now, never letting go of the can.
"Maybe, we could have some fun… here", Jace whispered. Clary let go of the can at the same time as Jace and the can hit the floor. They didn't bother to look down or take the can. They were staring at each other. Clary shivered of the closeness. It was a new kind of presence, a more intimate one. He caged her, one arm of either side of the island.
"I've noticed you like to take people as prisoners", Clary whispered teasingly. Neither of them were kissing or touching yet. Their noses touching each other. Jace could feel his heart beat faster and he could guess the same thing was happening to Clary.
"You are my prisoner, little red." Jace smiled evilly.
Clary pulled Jace by his shirt and crashed her lips on his. At first it was a hard mouth to mouth kiss, no one was let in. Then Jace could feel the coolness of Clary's tongue on his lips and opened up, letting her in. She gasped as they deepened the kiss. Clary held Jace close to herself, yet trying to close the distance and pushed her closer to Jace. He let go of the cage and pulled Clary closer by the waist. She was standing on her toes and Jace did what was the simplest thing to do. He carried Clary up and placed her on the island. Her legs around his waist now. Clary had moved her hands from his neck to his hair. Jace on the other hand had his hands around her waist. He moved them slowly inside her shirt, she didn't make a move to stop his actions and within a second her shirt was on the on the other side of the kitchen.
They were watching each other, taking deep breaths. Jace was surprised that Clary had hid her body so well behind her clothes, the curves he hadn't seen before were there now. She was flushing and it crept down her neck.
"Don't look at me like that", she whispered and covered herself.
"You are beautiful", Jace answered. She was still looking down, not daring to face Jace. He took her face in his hand, moving it up so she faced Jace, "you are beautiful, Clary. I'm serious."
She smiled and he kissed her again. This time Clary had more courage, she pulled his shirt and tried to remove it, but failed. Jace chuckled and pulled it off himself. She was looking at him with curiosity. Then she smiled.
"Nice."
Jace laughed and then they were kissing again. Clary's hands on his abs, moving up and around his neck. She smiled, he could feel it against his lips.
"Excuse me", a dark voice sounded in the room. Clary stiffened in Jace's grip and both of them let each other go. Both panting hard after air to fill their lungs.
"I hope you two are done here", Michael said with amusement in his voice. Clary was turning red, not only her face, but also her body. She didn't turn around to Jace's father. Jace looked up, a bit ashamed of being caught in this situation.
"Dad, I didn't know you would come home today?" The sentence came out like a question.
"Luckily I did, I guess", he said and eyed Clary's back, "hello Clarissa."
"H-hello Mr W-wayland", Clary stuttered. She was still sitting on the island without a shirt. She didn't dare to turn her head around to face Michael.
"I'll go to the study room and when I come back I don't want to see you two like this again."
"Yes, sir", was all Jace could say and watched his father walk out of the kitchen.
Clary was still flushing, this time she didn't face Jace. She was embarrassed of being caught by Jace's father. He knew how he made her nervous.
"I can't believe that happened."
