Midnight wakes up and sighs as she felt Manic's arm over her. She gently pushes it off and gets up. She couldn't sleep. She walks out to get a drink of water to see Sky doing the same.
"Can't sleep either." Sky whispers.
"No, I wish I could." Midnight whispers.
"Same." Sky said. "I don't know, this is just too much."
"It is." Midnight said. "But we all knew this was going to happen."
"Sadly, I knew something was wrong, so did Aleena, but she didn't want anyone to worry." Sky said.
"I wish this didn't end like this." Midnight whispers and Sky sighs.
"Same." Sky said. "We should check on her."
"Right, we should." Midnight whispers as she walks off. They walk to Aleena's room and Midnight walks over. "Aleena." Midnight said as she sits down and checked for a heartbeat. Nothing.
"She's gone, isn't she?" Sky said.
"She is." Midnight whispers as she pulls the sheet over Aleena. "Wake the others." Midnight told her and Sky nods as she walks off. Midnight then walks out and sighs. Then Manic runs over and Midnight takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry Manic." Midnight said.
"She isn't in pain anymore." Manic said and Midnight nods.
"We need to get things ready and call people." Midnight told him as Sonic and Sonia walks over.
"We do." Sonic said. Everyone got to work and found a safe and nice area to set things up. Knuckles and Manic built the wooden bed where Aleena remains will be burnt. People started coming in and give their respect. Sonic sighs as Argus walks over.
"I'm sorry Sonic." Argus said.
"Don't be, she's in a better place." Sonic said.
"Now that your mother is gone, you are king." Argus said.
"I worry about that once Robotnik is gone." Sonic told him as Sky walks over.
"Of course, I'll do what I can when I comes to that." Argus said walking off.
"Can I do anything Sonic?" Sky asks. Sonic looks down, he was holding his mother crown. Sky sighs. "We will get through this." Sky told him.
"We will." Sonic said, looking up and Sky smiles. Then Manic, Midnight, Knuckles and Sonia walks over with all the kids with them.
"Are use ready?" Manic asks.
"Yeah." Sonic said. Sonic, Sonia and Manic walks over, Sonic grabbed a lit torch. He then lights the bed and Sky sighs as she grabs Midnight's hand. Midnight closes her eyes.
'Goodbye Aleena, we will miss you.' Midnight thought as she opens her eyes. Midnight then walks off and Chloe chases after her.
"Mum!" Chloe calls and Midnight stops.
"Sorry, I just need a moment." Midnight told her as she leans against the tree.
"I understand mum." Chloe said walking off and Midnight sighs. Then Sky walks over.
"Thinking about Chloe." Sky said.
"First my father, then Chloe and now Aleena." Midnight said and Sky sighs. "When will this end?" Midnight asks softly.
"I don't know." Sky replies and the pair walks back.
"Are use ok?" Sonic asks worried.
"We're fine." Sky replies.
"We have work to do." Midnight said.
"We do." Manic said. They all turn to face the fire and Midnight sighs.
"This war ends soon." Midnight whispers and Manic wraps his arms around her waist.
"It ends when it ends." Sonic said. "We will end this war, for mother and take back what is ours."
"What do we do until then?" Dash asks.
"What we do bed." Sonic replies. "We fight." He added.
So yeah…I'm going to end this here, I think this is a good spot to end this…I might do a part 3, I'm not sure yet…I'm sorry if this seemed rushed, I have a lot on my plate the moment…like always, this is MilesPrower2011 saying thank you and goodbye
