A/N: This chapter was very rushed and shortened. I also had an issue later in the chapter where certain characters speaking were identified with their names next to them, so I had to upload my horrible draft.
Kyle glanced one last time at the orange scroll before him. He whispered quietly to himself: "Can't you just tell me what I should do?"
The scroll seemed to respond to him. The words on the scroll changed and now read "Fine. You need something to convince you? Have this."
Kyle spent a moment regarding the piece of parchment before him and wondering what it could mean by 'have this', when suddenly he heard a noise in front of him. Fearing a monster of the Everfree, he started to back off and run, but what he saw was no monster, but caused him to suffer all the same.
It was a swarm of ponies, ranging from Celestia herself to a small orange pony with a purple mane. The majority of the crowd was obscured by the trees, yet it still appeared to be massive. They were all speaking and mutter, but some voices stuck out to him.
TWILIGHT: "I know he's not feeling right. I just want to help, but he won't let me."
PINKIE: "He's got something about him that makes you wanna smile no matter what."
RAINBOW: "He looks like he wants stick by you no matter what."
RARITY: "He's not bound by society like us. No expectations, no embarrassment. Freedom."
FLUTTERSHY: "He has a look in his eyes that says he knows what it is to be alone."
APPLEJACK: "He doesn't have a reason 'ta stop trying. He's determined to get something."
LUNA: "I love him because he's been in the same situation that I have. He helped me get back into a world that evolved without me. Now I want to help him in his time of need."
CELESTIA: "He has much to learn and little time in which to do it. If he wishes to be rid of his problem, he must let others into his heart."
Kyle heard other ponies whisper things like "I don't know why, but I want to hug him and tell him everything will be alright."
And at the head of the horde the same creature as before appeared. It looked directly at him and spoke, "There are your choices: What you want; and what you need. Ultimate power or a push in the right direction?" Then it vanished into thin air, as if it never existed. This guy was starting to get on Kyle's nerves, popping around like some sort of prophecy-spouting Jumper. But didn't Celestia tell him the fast track out of the world was not to be an ass?
In the creature's place was another humanoid figure; only this was someone he recognized. The figure was about as tall as him, sporting dark red hair, fingerless gloves, and a generally punk look. It was his sister. His younger sister, but she was older and looked angry. Unlike the ponies in the forest on the edges of his vision, his sister started toward him.
She stopped mere feet away from him, glaring all the while. "You bastard," She shouted, emphasizing the last word, "you leave for years and all the while you've been pissing around in magical pony-land. I've gone through hell 'cause of you! When I needed a brother you were gone. If you had just gone out and faced your problems, I might still be happy."
"Look, L-"
"No!" She punched him in face, just below his right eye, "I don't wanna hear your shitty excuses. I suffered on your behalf because you weren't here. I hate what you did to me. And I don't want you in my life anymore. Stay here and never look at or speak to me again."
She turned and walked out of the forest, leaving him lying on the ground, full of confusion and hurt. What just happened? His sister looked to be his age now. When he'd left she was five, and now she looked like some sort of depressed gothic kid.
And so Deadpool the Wiseman popped in once again, to say: "You have to pay the price for either choice. The question is: What's the price?" And vanished for what was hopefully the final time. Kyle was left alone in the forest with two scrolls, the mob of ponies gone with the ethereal and cloaked figure that seemed to enjoy tormenting him.
He stared at the two pieces of parchment in his hands. How was he even going to make a decision when he did decide?
But in his heart, at the core of his tortured and damaged being, he had already made his decision. At heart he wasn't a wolf, not like the monster that claimed to be him. He was just unhappy as himself. Now it was time to drop the façade.
Orange light danced across him as his fear of life and those who didn't understand screamed through his blood. A voice spoke softly, as if telling him he must do something urgent and secret.
"Wings of fire on which to journey"
"Claws of light to strike swiftly at the heart of your problem"
"Body of steel to withstand all"
"Head full of lighting to think fast enough to save"
"Heart of darkness to understand what he opposes"
"Blood of sacrifice to bleed when he must protect"
"And a memory of the moon for whom he loves and knows."
Kyle fell, his mind fading faster than his vision. The last words from his mouth were, "Payback's a bitch."
A/N: For now I'll be working on Discovery and another story on a different site. But this story will not be abandoned, I just need some time to work on the others.
