Chapter 14

Survival

Tracker's POV

THIS HAD TO WORK. Hunter was so young and died protecting someone, I think that he deserved a second chance like Ryan. I knew that our chances were slim, but not impossible, which is why I continued to weld and rewire parts of him. Minutes became hours, hours became days, and after three days, I was finished. I backed up and grabbed his AI chip, before inserting it in the back of his head. His eyes lit back up as he groaned, he looked at his chest in shock and said "I died…HOW AM I HERE?" I walked over to him and explained "I rebuilt you, and now we get our revenge…" He asked me "But where are they hidden? I thought we wiped the Shadow out." I shook my head and said "No, we didn't. We haven't been able to find their main hideout, but Wolfy said that an Ex-Shadow member gave them Slash's AI chips the other day, and since it's raining, we'll wait so next time we see him, we get him to talk."

Sean's POV

I walked down the sidewalk, my sidearm hidden in my coat and my bag slung over my shoulder. I walked by a building I recognized almost instantly, the one that my allies, well, now former allies were killed. I continued down the street and saw the place where they attempted to capture Connor, but failed. I walked up to the now boarded up door, before looking into the reflection in one of the unbroken windows. I saw that my hair and jacket were soaked from the rain. I looked down and sighed, remembering what happened only a day ago…

*Flashback to one day after they returned to the base*

Jack, Zeke and I were in our room, with them playing cards and me falling asleep on my bunk. We were disturbed by a loud knock at our door, only to see Shadow Freddy outside of the room. I got up and answered it, only for him to say "You three fucked up big time, come with me, NOW!" We all followed him to the office of Shadow Bonnie, who was calm as always. We all were motioned to sit down, which we did, as he said "Shadow Freddy, you may leave…" Shadow Freddy looked at us and walked out of the room. Shadow Bonnie got up and said "What happened when you were gone the other day?" Zeke answered "We tried to rob the mall's stores, but Tracker was there." Shadow bonnie walked over and pulled out a disc, before putting it in the DVD player that was hooked to the TV in the room. After clicking play and allowing us to watch for a few moments, he said "That was the time period you were gone, and these security tapes show that you never went there, now tell me, what happened?" Jack spoke up "Tracker chased us in the parking lot, we couldn't even get in!" Shadow Bonnie looked at Jack and said "But our spies told us that Tracker never left the lab. Answer me truthfully, where did you go?"

He was catching on to us, so I said "It wasn't Tracker who nearly killed us, it was Bobby the Ghosthog." He shook his head and said, "Well, I guess we kidnap him and take his AI chip too" He walked over to the box I had swapped and opened it, seeing that it was empty. He came over to us and showed us the box, saying "This is not the same box, and it is empty, where are the AI chips?" Jack answered "Somebody stole them, I have no idea who though sir!" Shadow Bonnie walked over to him and put his hand on Jack's head, saying "I DO…" He twisted his hand and snapped Jack's neck, killing him. He turned to us and said "You've defected I see, you gave them to the people who can stop us, now why is that?" Zeke grabbed my gun and got up, saying "We're tired of killing for nothing, those people out there don't deserve to die! The only reason I'm here is my sister, who you murdered!" He aimed at Shadow Bonnie, who dashed towards him and knocked the gun out of his hands.

"RUN SEAN!" He yelled as Shadow Bonnie slammed his head against the wall, smashing it and killing my friend. I turned and ran, but he locked all doors, preventing my escape. I looked over and saw the window, and aimed my pistol at it. I fired a bullet into it and jumped through the broken window, before running into town, avoiding my former allies' gunfire towards me. I lost everything, all because I rebelled.

Well, that was fun! Just a heads up, Rose, Ghost, Dread and Daisy are all in their teenage years right now, since they age fast.
