Ch. 13 Lucario and Death Part 2: Change of Heart
(Carol's P.O.V.)
I watched in horror as Kage was stabbed through the chest and fell to the ground by that Black Absol. I tried to get up, but majority of my body was numb from that Thunder attack, I then started to feel someone feeling over me.
"I have to make sure you are alright, Miss." I looked behind me and saw Tsuki checking over me.
I shoved her off, somehow and staggered to my hands and knees. "I-I don't care if I am alright or not! Kage needs more help then I do!" I yelled at her.
"Hey! I'm trying to help you!" Tsuki yelled.
"I told you to help Kage!"
"He's been stabbed through the heart! He's dead!"
I wasn't sure what happened next, all I knew was, I slapped her across the face, Tears streaming down my face.
"Don't-don't you DARE say that, to me again!" I shouted at her, "If I lived through that Thunder attack, Kage can live through that stab!" I knew I was in doubt of it, but I wanted Kage to be alive.
"Ma'am, please!" Tsuki exclaimed, "If you don't let me assist you, you could end up in a worse situation!"
"Kage's already in a worse situation!" I yelled at her, "Just help him!"
"Tsuki." I looked down the hallway and saw Gardevoir slowly walking towards Tsuki and myself.
"I-I may have been hit with a Dark Pulse and it may have blocked my Future Sight, but I did see a little in the future."
"What do you mean, Gardevoir?" Tsuki asked her, "I saw a glimpse, alright? I saw that he was alive. We have to get him into the E.R. now!"
"Y-you mean, Kage can be saved if you get him in the room?" I asked, feeling some joy returning to me.
"What?! How the hell are you still alive?!" I looked up and saw the Absol glaring at me, "I blasted you with my Thunder you should be dead!"
I then saw Jolteon fired his Pin Missile and nailed the Absol in his left, as Glaceon slammed her Iron Tail into the Absol's face.
"You son of a Bitch! Do you have any idea who you just killed?!" Jolteon yelled.
"Kage was our friend!" Glaceon added, "Why would you want to kill the only human who doesn't capture Pokemon?!"
"Do you think I'll answer to your question?!" Death snarled at them, "All humans enslave our kind and kill those who think are weak! I will not bow to a pathetic human when I can be free!"
"You will never be free!" I yelled out at Death, "You are trapped with your hatred! It will keep you trap no matter what you say or do!"
I noticed that Death started to produce sparks and I started to hear him growled at me.
"I'll show you trapped! I'll make sure this time you stay dead! Join your human in Hell!"
Before he was able to strike me again, I saw Jolteon slam into Death with Volt Tackle, sending the Absol through a wall that was damaged in the fight. As Death laid on the floor coughing and gasping for air, Jolteon stood in front of him panting heavily. I could tell from his panting he was in great pain.
"Shut…The…Fuck…Up." Jolteon panted out.
I slowly pushed myself up to my knees as I saw Glaceon walked over to her mate and nuzzled him, I even saw Gardevoir and Tsuki rush over to Kage taking him to the E.R.
"Jolteon, are you alright?" Glaceon asked him.
"No, I shouldn't have used Volt Tackle. Too much stress on my leg. I was stupid to use that attack." Jolteon replied, wincing in pain.
"It's alright Jolteon, you did what needed to be done. You need to rest and stay off of that leg for a while is all."
"I know, Glaceon. I want to know where they will take Kage first. I'm not going into the room they had for me, I'm going to stay with Kage until he manages to recover from this wound."
"I understand. I'll-" Glaceon stopped her sentence short as she looked out to the Pokemon playground.
"Glaceon what is it?" I asked her.
"Carol will help you Jolteon to the room, I'm going to get Glaci she needs to know what happened."
"Glaceon, are you sure?" I asked, "Glaci would be devastated if she was told."
"I know, but we all should be by Kage's side for the moment."
I gave Glaceon a nod, I started to slowly got on to my feet. I leaned against the wall for support as I looked at Jolteon and Glaceon. I noticed Glaceon seemed to whispered something to Jolteon's. After that, he walked over to me and gave me a nod of his head. I gave him a small smile and we both went down the hall.
(Glaceon's P.O.V.)
I walked to the back of the Pokemon Center to the playground, I began looking around for Glaci. I spotted her playing with the shiny Absol Darksoul.
"Glaci!" I called out to her, she looked over to me and came bounding over.
"Hey, Mommy is Daddy alright?" she asked,
"He is, but…" I stopped trying to think of the right thing to say.
"What is it Mommy?"
"It's Uncle Kage, sweetie. He's been hurt really bad."
"Is Uncle Kage going to be alright?"
"Well we hope so, but right now we need to take care of Aunt Carol, she isn't taking this too well."
"Hey, Glaci, what's going on?" I looked up and saw Darksoul near us.
"I would also like to know." I looked at the Houndoom as he walked next to Darksoul, "Sorry I never gave my name to you when you asked us to watch your daughter. My name is Kalas."
"Nice to meet you. My friend the Freewill Trainer was hurt badly by an Absol he saved. His mate is devastated by it, I want my daughter to be with me and her father to keep Carol company." I explained to Kalas.
"I understand. You want to stay together until your friend is better. Do you understand, Darksoul?"
"Yes, Dad. I understand what's wrong." Darksoul replied to his father, "It was fun playing with you, Glaci."
"Same with you, Darksoul." Glaci politely replied.
I said my thanks and took Glaci inside, I heard coughs as I looked over and still saw Death trying to stand up and continued to cough.
"Mommy?" Glaci asked me, "What Pokemon is that?"
"One you want to stay away from, Glaci." I told her, "That Pokemon is the one that hurt Uncle Kage."
I walked down the hall and saw Gardevoir walking out of a room.
"Gardevoir, is Kage in there?" I asked.
"He is. And…" She seem to stop and sighed, "We did what we could, he lost a lot of blood and he was stabbed in the heart."
"Kage has survived a transformation that killed 14 people before him!" I yelled at her, "He can survive this! Don't say he won't!"
Gardevoir looked shocked at me snapping at her, I even felt Glaci nuzzle into my leg from being afraid.
"Well, you can see him." she said, "But try to comfort his mate."
"That's what we are going to do."
Glaci and I walk into the room, I noticed Carol was by Kage's bed while Jolteon was laying down on the couch.
"Glaci go lay next to Daddy, alright?" I told her.
"Ok, Mommy." I watched Glaci go to the couch and managed to get herself up on it. I walked over to Carol and looked at her.
"Carol?"
She looked at me with tears on her face.
"Glaceon." she wiped the tears away from her eyes, "When did you get here?"
"Just now. How are you holding up?"
"W-well, I'm just worried that Kage won't make it." she replied, "I know he has gone through a lot that would have killed people, but this was through his heart. Have you seen anyone live from that?"
"Hey, Carol." I looked over at the couch and saw Jolteon still awake, "I know this is hard on you but you can't think negative right now. Plus we are also here to make sure you can get through this tough time."
"What? Me?!" Carol exclaimed, "What about-"
"Carol" she looked back at me as I looked at her, "We know you feel this is your fault, but it's not. You must understand that Kage wouldn't want you to beat yourself like this. Do you think so?"
She sat there in silent, she looked over at Kage and sighed.
"No… no he wouldn't." she replied, "He-he would want me to look at the bright side and help him pull through this."
"Yes he would, but we all have been through a lot today." I stated, "I know it's early but we all should get some rest."
"Glaceon, after what happened. I don't think I can get some rest." Carol said to me.
"That maybe, but you will need it."
I looked at the room's door and saw Nurse Joy walking in, she then motioned Carol to follow her out. As I watched Carol slowly get up and walked to the hall with Nurse Joy, I then jumped on the couch and fell asleep next to my mate and daughter.
(Carol's P.O.V.)
Once I was out of the room, Nurse Joy closed the door and began to head back to the front desk.
"H-hey! Wait a minute." I said, "You call me out here and now you are walking away?"
"Someone just arrived and she is asking for you personally." she replied.
"Who did?"
"I don't know. All she requested was to speak with you. I didn't ask why she does."
As we approached the- well- remains of the front desk and that's when I saw who wanted to speak to me. A beautiful woman wearing a rainbow kimono was standing at the desk. She had silver hair that seemed to glow in the light, but what really got my attention of her was that she had a feather in her hair. It seem to match her kimono.
"Alright this is Carol." Nurse Joy told the woman, "Now care to explain yourself?"
"I well." the woman replied, "But only to Carol and no other."
I heard Nurse Joy sigh and rubbed her eyes lids.
"Fine, I need to get someone to replace the desk anyways."
As Nurse Joy left with Chancey. Once they were gone, I didn't think what to expect from this woman.
"Tell, me something, Carol." she said, as I gasped.
"W-what?"
"Why is it taking the Chosen One this long to get to the Orre Region?"
I gasped again at how she called Kage.
"H-how do you know that Kage goes by that?" I asked her, "You-you can't be the Ho-Oh that gave Kage that Ocarina."
"And what makes you think I'm not?" she asked me.
"Well, mostly because you're a human."
"I see, so you want me to come down from the safety of the Tin Tower, in my true form, where if humans saw me that want nothing more than to capture me?" she asked, "Is that what you want?"
"I don't even though I can believe you are." I replied.
"Well only the Legendaries and both Ho-Oh call him the Chosen One."
"That doesn't mean anything." I replied, "Kage never said anything about Ho-Oh taking on a human form."
"And where is he?" she asked, "I've been trying to contact him for a while."
"Are you only caring if he goes to the Orre Region?" I asked.
"What I wish to speak to him is no-"
"It is my damn concern! He was stabbed through the heart and all you care about is the task you gave him!"
"Wait, wait!" she spoke to me, "Stabbed through the heart? What are you-"
I started to hear some grunts coming from the room behind me. I walked to the door and looked through the window and saw that Absol struggling to get out of some binds that held him to the bed. I looked over and saw the woman, claiming to be Ho-Oh looking in the window as well.
"The Accursed Absol?" She asked out loud.
"The-the what?" I asked.
"It's what humans call the Absol from Hell." she replied, "What is that Absol doing here?"
"Kage brought him here, because he was poisoned." I replied.
"What?!" she exclaimed, "That Absol brings destruction and despair wherever it goes. Why would he help that Absol?"
"I just told you!" I yelled at her, "He was poisoned and Kage wanted to help him!"
"I see." she looked back at Death as he continued to struggled, "So the Chosen One was injured by the Accursed Absol."
"Would you stop calling Kage that?" I asked her.
Before I could speak another word, the woman took the seven colored feather from her hair and handed it to me.
"You'll need this to save his life." she said to me.
"What are you-"
"My feathers have healing properties," she suddenly explained, "place it on his wound to heal him enough to live."
As I looked at the feather, questionably. I looked up to ask the woman, but she was gone.
"Hey, where did she go?" I asked.
"Where did who go?" I looked down the hall and saw Tsuki looking at me.
"Y-you didn't see her?"
"See who? What are you-" She then let out a loud gasp and in a flash she was in front of me, "Where did you get that?!"
"G-get what?" I asked her
"That Rainbow Feather. How did you get it?"
"I got it from the woman that was in front of me."
"Ma'am, I walked out here and you were talking to the door." she replied.
I was about to snap her head off, for saying I was crazy. Until I heard a voice.
"Tsuki, what on earth are you doing to her?"
I looked over and saw the Nurse Joy returned from wherever she went.
"I think she might suffer from some head trauma." She replied, "She's believes there was a woman here with her, but I didn't see anyone."
"Wait a minute, where is that woman?" Nurse Joy asked, while looking around, "I didn't see her leave the Center."
"But she couldn't have disappeared, could she?" I asked, "She was right next to me, looking at the Absol, then she hands me this feather."
I showed it to Nurse Joy, she looked at before looking at me.
"Did she say anything else?"
"She said something about the feather keeping Kage alive."
I heard Tsuki give out a surprised gasp, next thing I know, her face is right in my hand looking at the feather.
"Y-you have a Rainbow Feather." she said.
(Yeah, I know in game and show it's called a wing. Get over it, this is my story.)
"What are you talking about?" I asked Tsuki.
"That feather can save Kage's life." she replied, "From what I read about it, Rainbow Feather's have healing properties. You just need to place it on the wound for it to work."
"Tsuki!" Nurse Joy yelled at her, "You can't go around placing random feathers on wounds! Who knows where that feather has been!"
"It's worth a shot." I said quietly to myself.
"What was that?" I looked about at Nurse Joy, as she had a confused expiration on her face.
"It's worth a shot." I repeated but louder, "If this feather really does have healing powers I am going to use it on Kage. And if you want to stop me, you'll just have to throw me out of the Center."
I looked at Nurse Joy dead in the eyes, as she slightly glared back,
"Miss, I understand your pain about losing someone important to you, but you are not going to put that feather-!"
"The feather is the only way to insure Kage's survival."
I heard Tsuki let out a small yelp as each of us looked behind her and there stood the mysterious woman that gave me the feather.
"Where the hell did you come from?" I heard Nurse Joy ask her,
"That is not important." The woman replied, "What is important, is that you are denying Kage the only thing that is able to safe his life. For someone who would do what it takes to save a Pokemon, even if that Pokemon is a human who has Pokemon DNA, you seem determine to keep Kage in the state, he is in."
I looked at Nurse Joy, she just stood there speechless. I looked back at the feather in my hand and began to walk back to Kage's room.
"Hey, where are you going?" I looked back at Tsuki as she looked past, Nurse Joy.
"I'm going to save, Kage's life, whether Nurse Joy doesn't want me to or not." I replied, "He is my mate, and I'm not going to lose him that easily."
I went down the hall, and went back into Kage's room, where I was greeted by to confused faces.
"Umm, what was all that yelling out there, Carol?" Glaceon asked.
"It was… nothing important, Glaceon." I replied.
"Are you sure?" Jolteon asked, "It seemed to sound like you were pissed off at a few people out there."
"Jolteon, it was nothing important, what is important is that this Rainbow Feather can save Kage."
"Wait, a Rainbow Feather?" Glaceon asked.
"Yeah, why do you ask?" I replied.
I noticed that Glaceon and Jolteon both looked at each other and then back at me.
"Carol, the only time when someone is given a Rainbow Feather, is when Lady Ho-Oh thinks it's power is needed." Glaceon told me.
"She must have thought something was wrong- or someone- and wanted to talk to Kage in person." Jolteon added.
"So you believe that the woman in the rainbow kimono, is this Lady Ho-Oh?"
"Why are you the only one in the room that fails to grasp that information?"
I let out a small yelp as I turned around and saw the woman, once again.
"How did you get in here?" I asked her.
"What you think you are the only one allowed in this room?" She asked.
I was about say something until I heard Glaceon speak.
"For what do we owe the honor, Lady Ho-Oh?" Glaceon asked.
"None whatsoever. I was just seeing what was wrong with the Chosen One." she replied.
"Called it!" Jolteon happily yelled out.
Everyone looked at him, confusingly, while he just got a blush of embarrassment.
"Anyway, after the half-breed inform-"
"My name is Carol." I told her, with a slight growl.
"My apologies. Carol here, informed me that he was injured by the Absol from Hell. I gave her that feather to heal him."
"So what is Carol suppose to do with your feather?" Glaceon asked her.
"Simple, place it on his wound." she replied, "But the catch is, you can't place it on the bandages, The feather must be directly on the wound, you need to left the bandages up and slip the feather in."
I looked at the feather in my hand, then at Kage. I stood there for what seem like forever to me, but then I walked to his body and slid the feather under his bandage and I felt where his wound was. I removed my hand and looked back at the woman.
"You better be right about this." I told her, "Or I'll never forgive you if all you said is a lie."
"Lying, is one of many things, I do not do." She replied, as she began to walk out of the room, "One more thing."
"What?" I asked, as she looked back at me.
"Whenever he is capable of communications, I would like for him and yourself to see if you two can change the Absol's heart."
"Why would we want to do that? He nearly killed me, and I saw him stab Kage through the heart!" I looked back at Kage, as he remind motionless.
"Indeed, but you broke his title by living, Carol, daughter of Coldfront."
I let out a small gasp, as I turned to face her, but she was gone.
"that's Lady Ho-Oh for you." Glaceon remarked, "Appears to inform someone, only to disappear when she speaks of the parents."
"But, how does she now my father's name?" I asked her.
"Maybe Coldfront used to serve Lady Ho-Oh." Jolteon replied, "I mean he did speak of the Suicune that Kage knows and she still serves Lady Ho-Oh."
"O-oh, right." I looked at the floor a little ashamed that I forgot about that.
"Hey, Carol?" Glaceon asked, "Do you want to call your parents?"
"I do, but I want to make sure that Kage will be alright." I replied.
"Lets try to get some sleep, knowing Glaci here, she'll be up in a few hours and none of us are yet ready to deal with her energy." Jolteon stated.
I sat next to Kage's bed and took hold of his paw. I looked at Jolteon and Glaceon, they were already fast asleep. I turned my gaze back to Kage, I lowered my head to be right next to his. I could feel tears forming in my eyes as I looked at him.
"I…I hope that woman was right, Kage." I whispered to him, "I don't want to lose you." With that said, my eyes slowly closed and I drifted to sleep.
I woke up what seemed like just a few minutes, as someone was shaking me.
"Ma'am? Did you sleep in the chair the whole night?" I looked up tiredly at the person who shook me, to my surprise it was Nurse Joy.
"The whole night?" I asked, "It only feels like minutes have passed."
"It may feel like it was, but it's been the whole night." she replied, "Didn't I give Mr. Uchiha a room?"
"Yeah, you did give us a room." I answer her.
"So why didn't you sleep in there?"
"I just couldn't leave his side, alright?" I snapped at Nurse Joy, "Is it that horrible that I want to stay with the person I love?"
Nurse Joy stood there, looking at me, until she let out a sigh.
"Look, the Pokemon Centers have rules, but if you want to have a sore back, then be my guest."
After she left, I heard something like a cough. I looked at the couch and saw Jolteon and Glaceon looking at me, as well as Glaci, looking around confused.
"Was it really necessary to wake Jolteon and myself up?" Glaceon asked.
"Sorry guys." I replied, "It's just, Nurse Joy has been on me ever since the whole feather thing."
I looked at the time and saw it was a quarter passed eleven. I was about to say something, but Glaci beat me to it.
"Can We go to the playground, Mommy?" she asked.
Glaceon sighed and looked at her, "Aunt Carol and Uncle Kage need us here" Glaceon told her, "But you are still a pup, so I'll take you there."
"Carol, why don't you go with them?" Jolteon asked.
"Jolteon, I don't-"
"Yeah, I know. But you need to get out and get some fresh air. You were the only one yesterday that didn't get any of that all day. I can't really move, so I'll stay here and see if anything happens."
I sighed to myself, knowing Jolteon would have kept telling me to go outside for a while and I didn't want to argue with him. I slowly got up and walked to the door. I heard Glaceon and Glaci getting up to follow me. We walked to down the hall to the- well the remains of the front desk. As I looked at the desk, I remembered how Kage just threw the Absol into it and shattering the desk, not only into two pieces but into several splinters as well. I saw that Tsuki was at the remains still trying to do work. I walked over to her, to see what was on her mind.
"Hey there, Tsuki." I said, "I'm sorry for what-"
"There is no need to apologize here." she replied, "Kage was just protecting everyone from the bastard."
"But even then, that still wasn't Kage."
"What do you mean by that?"
I decided she needed to know about Kage's rage, I was fuzzy on what he called "Pure Rage" but on Sharigan Rage, from what Sakura told us and from what I saw, it wasn't hard to explain.
"So if I'm getting this correct, when Kage gets his anger to a boiling point, he goes into this 'Sharigan Rage'?"
"Yes, and from what Glaceon and Jolteon told me, he went into that rage because of the Absol attacking me."
"And what about the other Rage of his?"
"I'm not sure, Kage doesn't even recall what he did or how he entered that Rage."
"So he has memory lost when his in that second Rage?" Tsuki asked.
"I'm not sure." I replied, "From what he could gather from others, who saw him. He was like a different person."
Of course there was an awkward silence after that. Tsuki ended that when she saw my necklace.
"I've noticed you've been wearing that necklace, since you arrived here, two days ago." she said.
I looked at the Crimson Crescent Moon and held it up in my hands, sighing lightly.
"Yeah, Kage got it for me on our anniversary." I replied, "He said the owner of the stand gave it to him free of charge."
"I doubt the bitch gave it away for free."
I looked up at Tsuki, a little shocked, "I think that was uncalled for, Tsuki." I told her, "Kage said she gave it to him for free."
"I know that craftsmanship anywhere." Tsuki snapped, "Only my sister could make something without any flaws on her work."
"That still doesn't give you the right to call her a bitch." I snapped back, "And I don't even know if it was your sister who gave this necklace to Kage."
"I know that craftsmanship anywhere!" Tsuki yelled, "Look when my sister and I were little, she had a bracelet. It was given to her by her 'boyfriend'-"
"You put so much emphasized on boyfriend there." Glaceon interrupted, "Was he or was he not your sister's boyfriend?"
"I'll get to that later." Tsuki replied, "Anyways, she told me to get it from her room and I did. But, I slipped on something and it ended up breaking, I told her it was an accident, but she didn't believe me. We yelled at each other to the point that we didn't want to see each other."
"But why didn't she believe you?" I asked her, "Why would she think you broke her bracelet on purpose?"
"I don't know I was in tears when I broke it. But anyways to answer the Glaceon's question, he was a double crosser. Two years later she was still with that guy, I saw him with a different Half-breed, a Liepard half-breed and he even gave her the same bracelet he gave my sister. After he said it was one of a kind."
"Does she even know he's cheating on her?" I asked.
"If so, she deserved it." Tsuki replied, "I told her from day one he was untrustworthy. But I let them be together because I cared for her."
"And even though you went through all that, she still didn't believe you about the bracelet breaking." Glaceon stated, "But the Ninetales half-breed that gave Kage the necklace was extremely generous."
"I bet she tried to persuade him to be with someone else." Tsuki added.
"No, she just apologized for sounding like she was using Attract, saying she got that from her mother." Glaceon replied.
Tsuki let out a small gasp and looked at Glaceon with her ears drooping down, "Th-then, that was Nala."
"That was her name." Glaceon stated.
I looked down at Glaceon, but Glaci caught my attention as she was staring into the hallway.
"Sorry for taking this long for getting you to the playground, Glaci." I said.
She didn't reply or look at me. She kept looking down the hallway.
"Glaci?" Glaceon asked looking at her daughter concern, "What are you looking at?"
"Aunt Carol," she replied, "look."
I looked down the hall, what I saw caused tears to imminently form and stream down from my eyes. Kage was struggling to limp down the hall, towards the four of us. He took a step towards us, but stumbled to the ground. I quickly ran to him and carefully lift him into my arms.
"Kage!" I exclaimed, "You're alive! Gardevoir was right!"
I felt tears streaming down my face, but I didn't care. Kage was alive. I sobbed happily as I held Kage close to me, I heard him let out a weak whine. I didn't know if it was in pain or in sorrow, I looked at him as he looked up at me and slowly licked my chin. I heard someone walking towards me, but I didn't care, Kage was alive in my arms.
"Tsuki, what's going on out here?! I'm on the phone with the insurance to see if we are covered for all of this damage."
"Aah! Nurse Joy!" Tsuki yelped out, "It's- uhh- Kage, Ma'am. He's alive!"
I could feel the both of them looking over my shoulders seeing him in my arms.
"How is he alive? That wound should have-"
Nurse Joy was interrupted when Tsuki cleared her throat.
"We should take him back to the room and examine the wound."
I slowly picked Kage up and began to walk back into his room.
After ten minutes, Nurse Joy had everything she needed and began to removed Kage's bandages to check the wound. With each layer removed, Kage let out a sharp whimper, I felt his claws slightly digging into my hand, but I didn't care. With each whimper he let out, I felt his pain. I watched as the final layer of the bandages came off, right on the wound was the Rainbow Feather I was given, but it was dull in it's color.
"I guess the legend behind these rare feathers are true." Nurse Joy muttered, "Their colors dull out when their power is used up."
"Nurse Joy." Tsuki said, "I noticed the wound is still open, but he does have a heartbeat."
"I'm guessing the feather only had enough power to heal his heart."
"And Gardevoir was right, with her Future Sight." I added.
"Which surprises me." Tsuki stated.
I looked over to her as Nurse Joy did, "Why does that surprise you?" I asked.
"Well, that Absol blast Gardevoir with his Dark Pulse, I thought that if a Psychic-type got hit by a Dark-type attack, their psychic abilities get blocked or something."
"That is correct, but only for a short time." Nurse Joy said, "Maybe she had enough time to use Future Sight for only a few seconds."
After they put new bandages on Kage, they left the room, leaving myself with Kage and his friends.
"Jolteon, did Kage wake up after we left?" Glaceon asked her mate.
"Shortly after you three left." he answered, "When he stood up, I tried to get to him, but this leg of mine prevented me from moving."
"But, how did Uncle Kage get into the hallway?" Glaci asked.
"Glaci, you know when you hear Uncle Kage's voice in your head?" I asked her, Glaci nodded her head, knowing what I meant, "He's using an attack called Psychic, he can even use it to grab objects like a doorknob and open it."
"You mean, Uncle Kage can control things with his mind?"
"I wouldn't say it like that, sweetie." Glaceon said, "He just mostly uses Psychic to talk to us."
"But, Why isn't Uncle Kage talking to use now?"
I looked back at Kage, only to see him sound asleep.
"I guess that's why." I said, "He's just too tired."
"Now that's a good idea." Jolteon said, 'Some sleep will do use some good."
"It's only eleven in the morning, Jolteon." Glaceon stated.
"I had a little pup running in her sleep last night and was kicking me in the leg."
I watched as Glaceon looked at her daughter, giving off that stern glare.
"Glaci? What were you dreaming about?"
"I don't even remember what I did last night."
"Well it must have been something if you were running in your sleep, Glaci." I said.
"I'm glad Kage is going to be alright, now." Glaceon said, as she got up from the couch, "Glaci, do you still want to go to the playground?"
"Actually, Mommy. I won't mind stay here for Uncle Kage." she replied.
"Glaci, Uncle Kage is sleeping right now. You should go and play with that new friend you made." I told her.
After that, Glaci nods her head and Glaceon lead her out of the room. Oddly enough, I felt rather sleepy, I looked over at Jolteon as he got off the couch and began to leave the room.
"Where are you going?"
"To get some fresh air. I'm somewhat sick of being stuck in a room all day."
I watched his as he left the room. When I saw the door closed, I looked back at Kage as he continued to sleep. Feeling sleepy myself I decided to take a short nap. I laid my head next to his and closed my eyes, drifting to sleep.
For some reason as I slept, I felt a light breeze running through my fur. I opened my eyes, to see I was no longer in the Pokemon Center, but on top of a tower. I looked around, wondering where I was and how I got here.
"Is anyone here?" I asked as I started to worry.
"Relax, this is the Tin Tower." a voice replied, "Or well, a Dream Tin Tower."
I spun myself around and saw Kage sitting nearby, without his injuries.
"Kage! How did you- what happened to your injuries?"
"I told you this is a dream. How else can you explain myself talking without using Psychic?"
I gave off a slight blush, knowing I just asked a dumb question.
"But how do you know where we are, Kage?" I asked.
"Well, whenever I dream and Lady Ho-Oh wishes to speak to me, I end up on top of the Tin Tower." he explained, "It's where I first met her."
"You flatter me, Chosen One."
I jumped from the new voice speaking out of nowhere. I turned around and saw the same woman from the center that gave me the Feather.
"Taking on that form even in here, are you Lady Ho-Oh?" Kage asked her.
"Well, it's how your mate sees me, as this is her dream we are in." she replied.
"What?! This is my dream?!"
"Well, that would explain why I saw you already here, Carol."
"How does that explain anything, Kage?!"
"Quite simple." Lady Ho-Oh replied, "If it was his dream, he would have seen a faint light in the shape of your body and when it fades away, he would have seen you asleep."
"Then why didn't I see this so-called light when Kage appeared?"
I heard Kage give out a sigh and Lady- Don't know why I think that now- Ho-Oh face palm herself.
"You were looking around for anyone to notice the light." Kage replied.
"Anyways, I brought the both of you here for a reason." Lady Ho-Oh said, "It it also a chance for the daughter of Coldfront to see if I can trust her as the Chosen One requested."
"Wait, what?" I asked confused, as I looked at Kage.
"Lady Ho-Oh doesn't fully trust you." Kage said, "She trusted my word to know about our-"
"Your quest." Lady Ho-Oh, interrupted Kage.
"Lady Ho-Oh they are in this just as much as I am."
I looked at the two of them as they seem to be in a stare down.
"She trusted my word over your's due to Lady Ho-Oh doesn't trust you or the others."
I looked up at the woman In the rainbow Kimono, "You don't trust me?"
"I know I should, due to your father being loyal to me." She explain, "But it was humans that burn my first tower to the ground. And since then I can't not put my trust into so many humans. Including those who have a Pokemon liege." (If that's wrong let me know.)
I thought for a while, before sighing and looking at her, "What is it you want with us, or what do you wish us to do?" I asked.
"Simple, talk to the Absol From Hell."
Kage and I stood there in silence for a good while.
"Pardon my languish, Lady Ho-Oh." Kage said, "But are you FUCKEN INSANE?!"
I saw that she jumped back from his choice of words, "He tried to kill Tsuki, I nearly killed Carol, and he stabbed me through the chest! Why the fuck would you ask us to talk to him?!"
"His heritage is a curse." She simply said, "When the first one was born her father tried to kill her. The mother protected the child. At first the Black Absol grew up like a normal Absol until it had a taste of power and went on a power-hungry rage. The mother had to kill her own child."
"So after that, the word pretty much went out to kill a Black Absol on sight?" I asked, "Indeed, but I believe after a while the Black Absol only kills for one reason only. Defense."
"Fighting, because someone attacks them?" I asked.
"Indeed, that is the only reason-"
"He attacks for blood!"
"Chosen One! I, unlike my mate, I'm merciful. Find out what happened in his past that turned him into the murderous beast."
"And if we can't get him to talk?" I asked, "Then the one called 'Nurse Joy' will end his life, for being a dangerous Pokemon." she replied.
After that everything faded into a bright light, and once again I felt someone shaking me awake.
"Ma'am, again in the recovery room?" I looked up to see Nurse Joy.
"Yes again. I'm glad Kage is alright, but I was not going to leave his side."
"And for a good reason t-UGH! Too."
The second I heard that voice in my head and that could only mean one thing. I turned to look over at Kage as he was struggling to stand up.
"What do you think you are doing?" Nurse Joy asked him as she tried to move towards him.
"Stay where you are, Nurse Joy." I saw her jump back a little, I guess from hearing his voice in her head.
"How-how did you-"
"I can use Psychic to talk while like this."
"Kage you need to rest. You don't seem healed enough to be walking." I told him.
"Carol, we've been told to do something. And you already know me well enough to know, once I set my mind to something."
"You don't back out on it. I know."
Knowing Nurse Joy heard that, I heard her giving a sigh, pretty much saying, "I give up."
"Why do you want to injury yourself even more, than you are now?" She asked Kage.
"Carol and I- UUGH- needs to talk to that bastard, Death."
"You mean, the Absol?! Are you insane?!"
"Trust me that's what he called-" I stopped myself remembering what Lady Ho-Oh told me about trusting humans that betrayed her.
"Called who?" Nurse Joy asked me.
"Someone in my sleep." Kage replied, "My psychic powers end up linking to my friends and mate while I sleep."
"I-Is your psychic powers that unstable?"
"He knows a powerful Psychic-type that helps him with his problem." I replied.
"Don't try to stop us, Nurse Joy." Kage told her, "My mind does change when I make a decision."
He grunted loudly as he tried to stand up, but fell back to the bed, panting heavily.
"Heh heh. Carol?" he asked me with a chuckle.
"What is it, Kage?"
"Would you, carry me? I don't seem to have the strength to stand."
I smiled as I carefully moved my arms under him and left him up, holding him close to my body. I carefully walked towards the door and managed to open it, I then looked back at Nurse Joy and gave off a small growl as I saw her trying to follow us.
"This is our problem, not your's!"
I watched her jump back as I closed the door in front of her.
"I know it's up to us to speak with Death, but was that a little too aggressive?"
"It probably was, but she doesn't need to follow us."
I walked down the hall and noticed that Gardevoir was standing outside of a door.
"Hey Gardevoir." I said, I noticed she jumped a little, before looking at us.
"Oh! It's you, Carol." she replied, "Umm, should you be carrying him?"
"Don't start with us, Gardevoir."
"W-well, glad to see you are healing." she replied, "Is there a reason you two are here?"
"We are going to talk to that Absol- not like we want to." I replied, "We were asked to talk to him."
"By who?" Gardevoir asked s, tilting her head confusedly.
"That is something you don't need to know, Gardevoir." Kage replied to her.
Without another word, she went back to her daily routine. I looked at the door that Death was behind hearing him grunting.
"Kage, I know she told us to talk to him." I said, "But, I'm having second thoughts about it."
"You're not the only one." he replied, "I don't want to talk to him either, but what choice to we have?"
I took a few deep breaths before opening the door. The Absol's grunts were louder then I thought as I watched him struggling in the restraints that held him.
"Who the hell is standing there?!" Death yelled out, "I heard that door open! Either get the fuck out or get in my fucking sight!"
I was about to yell something at him, but.
"Why don't you shut up? You are no longer as tough as you think you are with two survivors here."
After that, I could hear Death, snarling at us.
"What the fuck?! I stabbed your fucken heart!" Death snarled out.
"Unlike you I have friends that care about me and helped me survive it!"
"You think having a weak emotion can save your life?!"
"It kept him alive, didn't it?!" I yelled at him.
I heard Death quietly growl and snarl at us, still unable to see us.
"What the hell do you fools want?!" he asked, "To gloat?!"
"No." Kage replied, "We want to know what caused you to walk the path of blood."
"And what makes you think I'll dig up the past? Because you order me to?!"
"How about your freedom?"
I looked at Kage, shocked beyond words, even Death looked at him puzzled.
"Kage! You can't be serious!" I yelled out, "Who knows what he'll do if you let him go."
"But I can give you one reason why I suggested it." he replied.
"And that would be what, human?"
"A chance to live. The one thing you and the others before you have been denied of."
Death stared at us for awhile, I was for sure he wasn't believing Kage's words- even I don't believe him.
"So, I tell you the past and I'm free to go?" he asked Kage.
"Yes." he replied, "But a fair warning, Death. If I catch wind of the scent of blood and hear that is was from you, I will hunt you down and kill you."
Now that I did believe. If word did reach us, that Death did cause more blood to spill, Kage would kill him for starting it again. I looked back at Death, he seemed to give off a small grin.
"Alright." he replied, "If it gets me out of this damn place, I'll tell you."
"One last thing, Death." Kage said.
"What now, human?!"
"If I believe you are lying to us, I can look into your memories myself and see the truth."
I looked down at Kage, nearly thinking he was a little light headed from his blood lost.
"Ha ha ha! You really think I'll believe you can-"
"Your mother seemed to be in an illegal DNA Fusion of Pokemon. Cause her to have the characteristics of two Pokemon."
I let out a small gasp as I looked at Kage's left eye, noticing it was in it's Rage state.
"Kage? A-are you entering-"
"No. It's, umm, something I picked up when I back in the Sinnoh Region."
"What the fuck?!" Death yelled out, "You bastard! What gives you the fucken rights to invade my mind?!"
"I knew you were going to say something pathetic, like you wanted to."
I was a little surprised myself, it seemed as if Kage had powers of his own, and they were growing.
"Alright." Death finally said, "I became the Absol from Hell, when I was pup. My mother died bring me into this damn world and that bastard left me to die."
(Flashback Death's P.O.V.)
I walked through the forest for weeks, my stomach growling from hunger. Any food I found was either out of my reach, or nothing left at all. I continued to search for something- anything to eat. After another few hours of looking, I started to hear laughter. I poked through some bushes to see three Vulpix rolling a round object to each other, one which was oddly colored.
"Wait, wait! Stop for a second!" a voice called out.
The Vulpix stopped rolling the object as it unrolled, showing it to be a Sandshrew, trying to stand up straight very dizzyingly.
"I need to stop for a few seconds. I'm a little dizzy." he said to them
"Ok, Sandshrew." the oddly colored Vulpix said, "Just don't take too long like last time."
I watched as the Sandshrew tripped over and was looking straight into the bushes where I was hiding in.
"Hey, dudes and lady. I think I 'm a little too dizzy."
"What makes you say that?" one of normal Vulpix asked.
"Well, I see six eyes in that bush. Or I'm just really dizzy and there's only two."
I started to back up slowly, not wanting to be seen by anyone, but unfortunately someone did. The oddly colored Vulpix ended up looking into the bushes I was hiding in as it looked at me.
"Hey, there's an Absol here!" it said to the others.
I backed up further into the bushes as the other two came poking their heads into the bushes.
"Oh come on, Sis." one of the normal Vulpix said, "That's not an Absol. Absols are white."
"And what other Pokemon do you now with that blade thing on it's head?"
Before any other arguing was given, a loud growling noise came from me. Once all four of them were looking at me, I turned way embarrassed.
"Was that your stomach?" the oddly color Vulpix asked.
I nod my head slowly, still embarrassed.
"Hey, Flame! Go and get a Berry that Mom got for us!" the oddly colored Vulpix said.
"Hey, why do I have to get it?" one asked.
"Because I told you to get one!" She yelled back, "This Absol is hungry!"
I watched was one of the Vulpix walking away, grumbling to himself. I looked back at the oddly colored one.
"A-are you-" as I began to speak she looked over at me tilting her head slightly.
"Are you like me?" I asked her.
"Like you?" She asked, "I'm not sure what you mean by that. I was born a Shiny Vulpix. But I'm more confused with you, I thought a Shiny Absol had red where the dark blue was. Why do you have black fur?"
"I-I was born with it." I replied.
Before anything else was said, one of the regular Vulpix returned, placing a Berry in front of me.
"Enjoy it." he said to me.
"Blaze!" the Shiny one yelled, "That one is extremely bitter!"
"Hey you said grab one! It's your fault for noy being specific on which one to grab!"
I began to munch the Berry down quickly and noisily as and felt them looking at me, as I did.
"See? He likes Bitter Berries."
I looked up after I was finished, panting loudly.
"Act-actually, I haven't eaten in days." I replied, "I was starving."
"Oh man, now I feel like jerk for grabbing that Berry."
"Well, you should, dude." The Sandshrew stated, "It was only a matter of time before your pranks backfire."
Afterwards, all three of them got me the better tasting Berries. I was so relieved that I finally got something to eat.
(Flashback interrupted)
"What the hell, Death?" I asked, "We wanted to know why you are acting like you are now."
"Fine! I'll cut to the chase!" He snarled, "The mother of the Vulpix arrived, and slashed my eye out. I then met a Trainer with a Machamp that used my as a punching bag. I kill because I want to live!"
I looked at Carol as she looked down at me, "What do you think, Carol?" I asked her.
"H-he does seem to be telling the truth. The way he said how he got the scar and why he kills." she replied
"Well?!" Death yelled at us, "You gave your word to let me out! Now do it!"
"Only if you give your word not to continue down this path of bloodshed, Death." I replied to his demand.
"What kind of Tauros shit are you trying to pull, Human?!"
"None, your judgment is clouded by your rage and anger towards everyone, including those who have done no harm to you. I want your word that you'll stop the bloodshed and Calm your Mind."
"Fine whatever! I give you my word, Human. Now let me-"
Death stopped himself, as he felt and heard the muzzle drop onto the floor. I looked at the shackles around each of his paws and focus my psychic energy on each as they came off one after another. I watched as Death stood up and glared over at us.
"I could kill you two right now." Death remarked.
"Except you gave your word you will no longer shed blood, Absol from Hell."
Carol gave out a startle gasp as I looked next to us see Lady Ho-Oh in her disguised form.
"And I have no problem fighting you off even like this." she said.
Death scoffed at her, before jumping off the bed and walking to the window and blasting it open with Aura Sphere.
"This doesn't change a thing, Human." Death said to me.
"We'll see." I remarked, "If we see each other again."
After our threats were given to each of us. Death jumped out the window and headed into the forest.
"Do you think we'll see him again?' Carol asked.
"The future is unclear, even for your friend Gardevoir." Lady Ho-Oh replied, "But if you do, let us hope your actions reached that Blacken Heart."
