Chapter 14: Origins Part 5
Optimus stood before the Magic Council who were all look pretty mad. Org coughed a bit, "Optimus Prime, do you know why we call you here?"
"It is because the war between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord?" Optimus asked.
"Yes" Yajima nodded.
"Please let me explain Council" Optimus asked.
"Very well you shall have the chance to explain" Org replied.
"You see the Phantom Lord had attack our members which means they declared war on us."
"Okay, but what make it your right to attack back? You could have just let it go and file a complaint to the Council" Siegrain said.
"My fellow comrades cannot stand by knowing that someone had hurt their friends. In our guild we put our bond above anything else."
"That maybe noble, but that doesn't mean that you can start a war with another guild."
"It is against the law to do so and the Council had decided to watch over you and Fairy Tail for now on until we decide to do with you" Org announced.
"Jeez this is not going to be easy. Still I have to try to persuade them until Erza and the others finish going through my memories" Optimus softly spoke to himself.
Meanwhile Fairy Tail watched as Knockout changed Optimus's Autobot's symbol to a Decepticon one. They were still trying to handle the fact that Optimus had lost his memories and wonder what will happen next.
Erza however had another concern in mind, "Alpha Trion how is Optimus' team handling it?"
"Do you want to see?" he asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Thanks to the Key to Vector Sigma, I can show you the moments when Jack had until he return it."
Erza looked at the guild who were nodding yes, "Will you show us?"
"Of course" he then snapped his fingers which caused the scene to be in the Autobots' base where the sad team came out of the ground bridge. The kids were happy to see their friends were okay, but Ratchet was worrying about one person.
"And Optimus... is he..." he slowly asked.
"Dead? No..." , Arcee said.
"But he look right at us without recognizing us... he didn't know his own name" Bulkhead mentioned.
Ratchet think for a minute, "Hmm, when Optimus surrender the Matrix of Leadership, he lost more than the collective wisdom of the Primes... he lost himself."
"That doesn't follow! Optimus knew Megatron" Arcee stated.
Bulkhead spoke again with Bee agreeing with him, "They were like BFF."
"If Optimus did not know his own name perhaps it is because the title of Prime hadn't yet been granted to him" Ratchet explained. This caused everyone in the room to wonder what he was talking about until he gave a further explanation, "With the power of the Matrix no longer within him. It would stand to reason that Optimus had reverted to his pre-Prime state. The historical archivist Orion Pax."
It didn't take long for Fairy Tail to figure out that Optimus had lost his memories. They started to wonder if Megatron will take advantage of it. To bad for them because he did.
Alpha Trion showed the scene how Megatron gave a false story on how they came to Earth and used Ratchet as the cause of it. Before the guild saw the next scene with Team Prime, they say Optimus making a vow to his nemesis, "Megatron... I will do my part to stop Ratchet's evil crimes of aggression. This I vow with all my Spark." That caused Megatron to make a sinister smirk which caused the guild to wonder what was going to happen next.
Back with Team Prime, Ratchet explained to Fowler that being a Decepticon was a choice and strongly believed that Optimus will never stop being an Autobot in his Spark. "We must locate him to know for certain" he said.
"Hold up! I have chip large in my behind to let Uncle Sam know when I stop for donuts! Are you telling me you can't just track Prime?" Fowler asked.
"Optimus' signal had not reappear since he embark to Earth's core, but we must get to work on finding him. If we have any hope initiating his contingency plan" Ratchet explained.
"Contingency plan?" Arcce questioned.
"What contingency?" asked Bulkhead.
"Is that even a word!?" Miko raised an eyebrow.
Jack figured it out, "The key card!" He took it out quickly, "So what it do?"
Ratchet soon explained to Jack and the others what it is and how it will be able to restore Optimus' memories. However he told them it was not something to find easily, "It is a source of mystical power... on Cybertron."
"Jackson Darby you will not be traveling to another planet!" Jack's mother snapped.
Fowler then asked a question, "Why send a boy to do a Bot's job?"
"Because only a Prime can access Vector Sigma or one chosen by a Prime. Optimus gave the key card to Jack. It is now imprinted with his unique bio signature" Ratchet explained.
"So you're saying Jack is an honorary Prime?" Miko asked.
"Let just say that Jack is the only one who can return Optimus to the Autobot we knew."
Natsu scratched behind his head, "So how are they going to get to their home planet?"
"Just watch" Alpha Trion answered.
The scene showed Optimus on a computer, doing some work on encrypted data. As soon it beeped, Megatron entered, "Orion how fair Project Icon?"
"I am a bit rusty I fear. I was only managed to decode three entries."
"And what do these entries comprises?"
"They were log by Autobots archivists during the war after I entered stasis. My only knowledge of their contents so far is that they are coordinates. Targeting locations on this very planet." He turned around and extended his hand while a red holographic image of Earth appeared, "I summarized that they could indicate highly places for vessels shipped from Cybertron. For safe keeping."
"Such as historical documents or cultural artifacts?" Megatron questioned while turning to thee holographic image.
"My greatest fear will be weapons of mass destruction, hidden away for later use."
"All the more reason it is essential that we do everything in our power to keep such vessels from Autobots' reach." Megatron walked to him place a hand on his shoulder, "We are fortunate to have you on our side Orion Pax."
Right when Megatron was about to leave Orion spoke, "Lord Megatron, I am puzzle by one particular finding. I have discover several historic references to Starscream as your second in command, but yet I had not seen him aboard the ship."
"Sadly commander Starscream is dead" Megatron answered.
Makarov stroke his mustache, "Strange how Optimus ask many questions of an archivist not of a Decepticon. I guess part of him still think like an Autobot."
The guild watched how the Autobots was being without their leader and it was very hard to watch. Without someone to lead them they caused humans to get hurt and they were starting to fight among themselves. Jack soon spoke up, "Hey are we overlooking one positive? Nobody is talking about what the Cons just got their claws on."
"Yes we managed to allow them to finally obtain a power source for their space bridge!" Ratchet shouted.
"How exactly is that would be a positive?" Arcee asked.
"We let them finish building their space bridge..."
"Why!? So they could bring more zombies back from Cybertron!?" Bulkhead snapped.
"No. So we can commender it and use it to send me to Cybertron" Jack explained.
The guild were surprise at the plan that Jack came up with. It sounds like it could work, but the only problem is now is to find it. The scene soon changed back to Optimus who was still working until a visitor came in. It was none other than Starscream who soon panic and dropped Energon cubes to take aim, "No! Optimus Prime!"
"Please I mean no harm."
"What are you doing here!?"
"Research for Lord Megatron."
"Is this some kinda joke?"
"I do not understand and why did you call me Optimus Prime?"
"Uh, why wouldn't I?"
"Because my name is Orion Pax. I am far from being a Prime."
Starscream saw his Decepticon insignia, "You reminded me of someone I once knew."
"You are Starsceam..."
"Yes..."
"Lord Megatron told me that you has been terminated."
"Lord Megatron say many things only some of it is true."
Fairy Tail watched how Starscream caused some doubt in Orion after Starscream fled like the coward he is and Megatron's explanation. He soon started to look into how is Optimus Prime was. Gray crossed his arms, "Starscream is so clumsy, he make Natsu look normal."
"What did you say frost ass!?" he roared.
"You heard me flame idiot!"
"Gray, Natsu save your pathetic squabbles for later!" the guild master yelled.
"Yes master" the two answered.
Meanwhile with the Autobots, Ratchet and Bulkhead were able to receive information about a space bridge that was built on Earth. It was in an Energon mine which make it the perfect place to hide it. Arcee asked who their intel and Ratchet said it came from a reliable source.
Ratchet turned to the humans, "So do we have any questions?"
"Do we even know if people can breath your atmosphere?" June asked.
"I'll hook Jack up" , Fowler said which caused June to stare at him, 'It's completely state of the art. I still have connection to NASA."
"It's too dangerous."
"Mom I know this is hard, but Optimus risk his life to save our planet and he's not even human. We owe it to him" Jack said.
"Jack is the only one who can do this June, but I don't want you to think for one moment that I'll leave him unchaperoned" Arcee told June.
"Not everyone is destine to live an ordinary life. Optimus Prime was once Orion Pax after all" Ratchet explained.
The Autobots first discuss their plan to take control of the bridge and how they needed to be quick about it. The guild watch how they managed to take over the space bridge with ease and were amazed how well they work together without their leader. Soon they called for Jack and he appeared from the vortex with his space suit.
Arcee faced him, "Are you ready?"
"Let's do this" Jack answered.
"I'll leave the space bridge portal open in order to eliminate any communication lag over the great distance and make it easier to locate when you are ready to return"
"Easier to locate? You're not bridging us straight to the big V?"
"Vector Sigma's true location is shrouded in mist and rumor Jack. It is said that the path of the Primes will lead there. We must be confident that Optimus will guide you" Ratchet said before activating the bridge.
Jack and Arcee entered the portal and were now on Cybertron or what was left of it. The guild knew it was be bad, but they had no idea it would be this bad. Buildings destroyed or damaged, roads torn apart, remains of ships were scatter, and the atmosphere was really dreadful and dark.
Jack was so amazed that he was on another planet, but for Arcee the site of her ruined home was painful, "This isn't how I wanted you to see my home. In the fog of war it is hard to see the light of the mission or the next punch in a fight. We did everything to save Cybertron, but when the fog finally lifted there wasn't much to save."
Soon the two reported back and they were told not to waste time. As soon Jack took out the Key and waved it he noticed that it was brighter in one direction and decided to travel down that way by riding. After a while they were getting closer to their destination, but Arcee recognized the place they were heading, "Toward Kaon?"
"Decepticon's capital, swell."
Back with Orion he was busy researching Optimus Prime and noticed two things odd. One that it stated he was the leader of the Autobot which caused him to think that Megatron was lying to him. Two the archive was heavily encrypted and started to encrypt it. Once he was finish the image of the Prime changed and cause more questions, "How could I possible be Optimus Prime?"
Fairy Tail could tell that Orion was showing signs of doubt in Megatron's cause and were happy about it. However once Megatron came in their expression changed to anger. Megatron came to check on Orion's progress, but he knew that Orion was not doing his job. Orion began ask who he was really, but Megatron told him he was his clerk and back to work.
Orion looked at the image on the computer first then spoke, "No. I would rather erase my findings than make them be use for your questionable use."
Orion pressed a button to erase the files and started to walk away, but Megatron began to laugh and revealed his findings were still in the computer, "Did you really think that we wouldn't be tracking and documenting every piece of your finding?"
Soundwave came in showed an image of Cybertron that had a beacon on it which caused Megatron to be concerned, "One of sentry was activated on Cybertron?"
"You told me that our planet was dead."
"That is beside the point guards!" Megatron slowly walked toward Orion and summoned his sword, "You will finish Project Iacon by the time I return or I'll carve out your Spark before your very eyes!"
Time passed for Orion and he tried to convince the guards to help him stop Megatron, but the two started to beat him up. Erza was growling like crazy because she can't stand someone defenseless being beaten upon. Orion pleaded for a bit, "No. Stop. Please. Enough!" Somehow he summoned his guns, "I am arm!?"
The guards decided to summoned their weapons, but Orion manged to shot them first. This caused him to think he was more than just a clerk and decided to stop Megatron.
Back with Jack and Arcee they had entered Kaon and somehow a secret passage appeared from the ground which caught them by surprised. Jack looked at it for a second, "Vector Sigma is down here?"
"Kaon didn't always belong to the Decepticons. Megatron took it as the capital apparently without ever realizing what really lies beneath their feet."
Arcee heard a noise from above and a large shadowy on top of the passage before it jumped down while roaring. Arcee back flipped a bit to dodge the attack. The large figure was a Transformer, but it look like a bug. Arcee fired at him before being tackled to a wall by it.
Jack decided to contact Ratchet while Arcee kept the bug busy, "We're being attack by some kind of giant bot beetle!"
"An Incesticon!" he stated.
"Wait a minute a Decepticon that can transform into a bug, gross!" Lucy shouted.
Jack was soon told to move on ahead leaving Arcee to deal with the Con. Jack was now in a hall and saw it had strange scratches on the wall thanks to the light from the Key. He soon heard a strange noise and grabbed a pipe to help defend himself. Then he came upon a large door which soon opened for him and revealed a large chamber with a platform. He stopped at the center of the platform and placed the key a strange device. The key soon became larger, the room started to glow, the platform began to change, and a large white glowing orb with two rings came out which caused the key to glow.
Fairy Tail couldn't stop staring at it. Romeo spoke, "Is that Vector Sigma?"
"Indeed young one" Alpha Trion answered.
"It is so beautiful" Levy said.
Makarov could sense the power of it and slowly muttered, "By the gods..."
The scene changed after Scraplets started to chew on the device that was downloading information into the key to Ratchet and the others.
Bulkhead growled, "Why does it have to be Scraplets!?"
"If they chew through Vector Sigma before the Matrix fully reload..."
Megtron spoke while coming out of the vortex and interrupting Ratchet, "So Vector Sigma is more than legend. You Autobots had gone through impressive lengths to recover your leader. Be absurd I will never underestimate you again."
Fairy Tail watched how easily Megatron was throwing the Bots around with ease despite it was three against one, but the scene quickly changed back to Jack who had somehow managed to have the pest eat the Insecticon who came out of nowhere. Soon he and Arcee were at the vortex with the loaded Matrix of Leader.
Without their knowledge Megatron was waiting on the other side of the vortex waiting for them and was ready to destroy the matrix. Out of the blue an unexpected event occur, "I can not allow that to happen Megatron."
They turned and saw Orion who was coming out of a vortex. Megatron asked a question, "So why should you care Orion Pax? You are no Prime."
"That maybe true or yet another deception, but this much I do know. My sympathy lies with the Autobots and you are not one of us" he stated and call force his swords.
Fairy Tail smiled that Orion was becoming Optimus again and watch him charged toward Megatron who was grinding his teeth. Megatron blocked his attack and delivered a powerful punch into his guts.
"Your Spark might be in the right place Orion," Megatron hit him to the ground with the back of his hand before summoning his sword, "but you have much to learn before you could ever hope to stand your ground against me. A moment sadly that will never come."
Arcee came out of the portal and tackle King Con from behind while Jack showed the Key to Orion who asked a question, "Are you certain I am worthy?"
"You have no idea" Jack answered while a beam of light hit Orion chest which opened up to revealed the Matrix.
Meanwhile Megatron grabbed Arcee and shoved her to a wall, How nice of you to join our little reunion. Now if you please, the MATRIX!" Megatron noticed what was happening behind him and threw Arcee to the ground. Once the download was finish the key returned to Optimus and Megatron summoned his sword to attack, "NOOO!"
Optimus caught the blade and spoke while his mouth guards appeared, "Megatron... Be gone!"
Soon Optimus started punching Megatron in the face while Fairy Tail smiled for his return and the Autobots getting up. Soon the Autbots returned to base and welcome back Optimus who seem to not remember what happen to him.
Ratchet smiled, "Optimus it had truly been our darkest hour, but know this. From every indications your Spark never stop being that of an Autobot."
The guild was shouted in hooray for his return to normal. Erza however spoke to herself, "I wonder what is happening to Optimus' team back on Earth."
On Earth in Jasper Nevada, a white robot was hiding behind some rocks near the giant dark tower whispering to himself, "Don't worry Optimus if you are in there I'll rescue you. Just you wait."
