Chapter 14 - Fusion

School got more and more boring every day, after being able to fight monsters and use magic and make money off it, school just didn't seem too important. I really only had a few friends there anyway. After school let out me and Rana went to Sabertooth. When we got there we almost instantly herd and explosion. We ran out back to see what was going on. There was another explosion and I saw Wendy's body fly up in the air.

"NO!" By reflex I used my new Fire Dragon Flight and caught her mid air, I landed back on the ground with her. "Wendy, are you alright." She looked up at me and smiled.

"Yeah, just… tired" she whispered, then she passed out in my arms. I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Sting.

"Don't worry, shes fine. They're all just low on magic energy trying to fuse the Lacrimas with Ethernano." I let out a sigh of relief. I brought her inside and put her on a bed next to Natsu and Gajeel's beds.

"So how does this work, the fusion?" I asked. Sting handed me a small blueish-purple crystal.

"You put the Lacrima and the Ethernano together and run immense amounts of magic through them, once it starts don't stop or you'll be lying in one of these beds."

"Okay, lets get to it." We went back outside and I held my Lacrima in one hand and the Ethernano in the other. I put them together and as soon as I began to put energy into it they began to repel but I held them together. They began to sting and it hurt.

"AHHH!" I screamed then grinded my teeth together.

"Just a little more Ryan!" I heard Rough call.

"You can do it!" yelled Lucy. I felt the two becoming one but the force that was repelling them got stronger and stronger and I was getting low on magic. I heard a noise similar to a circuit shorting out and then I was flying through the air, I slammed into a tree and I was out.

I woke up in a bed, I looked over and Wendy was right next to me still asleep. I sat up and my back hurt… a lot. Sting came in.

"Oh you're awake, that was fast. Sorry you had to share a bed but we only have three." he said.

"It's okay." I looked over at Wendy and I brushed some hair from her face.

"You really like her, don't you?" Sting asked.

"Yeah" I said still looking at her then I looked at Sting. "So do you have a

girlfriend?" I got up and went over to him by the window.

"Nah..." He said, almost like he was sad. He was staring out the window, I looked out and followed his line of sight. He was looking at Yukino. "Don't tell anyone, okay?"

"Sure, but it would be better to just ask her out." I looked over and saw a big reddish glowing dome with electricity in it. "What is that!?"

"I was gonna wait to tell you until after you regained your strength but… THAT is what happened after you exploded." My eyes bulged.

"I did THAT!?"

"Yep" We went out to the yard. Upon closer inspection I could see a single crystal inside the dome.

"Where is the other?" I asked.

"Oh you completed the fusion… but this didn't happen before. No one but me and Rough were able to get through the barrier, even Rana's portals didn't work, and when we tried to take the Lacrima out it just repelled us."

"Well, I might as well give it a go." I walked over to it and I could feel the magic power coming from it. I reached my hand out and it zapped me. I pulled my hand back then after a second pushed straight into it. I could feel each little bolt hitting me, it felt like it drained some of my power every time. I slowly but surely walked toward the middle, it was about 2 meters and the closer I got the more magic I lost with every zap. I was close enough to grab it but when I tried a pulse wave of energy blasted me out of the dome. It wasn't enough to hurt and I managed to land on all fours. I was breathing heavy.

"No luck?" Erza said walking over with Lucy and Gray.

"No" I said getting up.

"Could you feel it sapping your power?" Sting asked.

"Yeah"

"I think we need all of your dragon slayer elements in there at once."

"Well its worth a shot!" Natsu called walking over with Wendy and Gajeel.

"You're up!"

"Yeah, and we feel better then ever!" Wendy yelled.

"Are you sure you're up for this, I don't know what could happen in there." Sting said. We all nodded in agreement.

"Gray, ice me!" I said, he gave me a chunk of ice and I bit out of it. "Ice, Sky, Iron, Fire, Shadow, White…"

"And lightning." Laxus yelled walking over.

"Laxus! What are you doing here?" Lucy asked.

"I herd you were learning DragonForce without me."

"Sorry Laxus but second generation Dragon Slayers aren't even able to use DragonForce." Rough said.

"Humph!"

"But while you're here could you maybe help me out with this fusion?"

"Ha… If I didn't hate Acnologia so much I wouldn't." All the Dragon Slayers gathered around the dome.

"Ready… 1... 2… 3!" Sting yelled. We all pushed through the barrier and the was instantly a reaction the crystal in the middle began to draw power from us.

"Ahhh!" Wendy yelled. I grabbed her hand resisting the urge to scream myself. The next thing I knew everyone was holding hands. The streams of Magic being drawn out of us stopped and there was a shock wave knocking everyone but me out. I quickly grabbed the crystal and the dome disappeared into it. I looked at it. It was still blue with a black hue but now there were traces of purple in the blue.

"We did it!" Wendy said walking up behind me and then hugged me from behind. I put my arms on hers.

"Yeah, we did." For the rest of the day I helped the others with their fusions, if I used their magic I could help the process by basically having two sources of magic for the fusion. Theirs didn't make dome that sapped our power though. At the end of the day we completed all of our fusions.

"Tomorrow is the easy part… activating your DragonForce. Eating the Ethernano Lacrima while in DragonForce it will make it significantly easier to trigger it." Sting explained. "For now go back to Fairy Tail, we will come over tomorrow to help." Rana took everyone back to Fairy Tail and then took me home. We were outside my house and before I went in she stopped me.

"Ryan… I.. I have to do one thing before I can get over you..." She quickly move over to me and kissed me on the cheek. Both of our faces turned red. "Don't worry, I wont tell." she whispered. Then she left. I walked inside and plopped down on the couch, I was exhausted. Who is Ryu… did I dream him up… no…
