Author's Note: This chapter, seriously, I had a ton of fun writing it. For those of you who are new here, it wasn't included in the original version of my story, I'm glad I came up with it though.

Disclaimer: Naruto's really not mine. I swear.

"Miharu! Are you almost done? We're going to miss out on the candy!" Just one more pin. "Come on!"

"Yeah I'm almost done, I swear." I looked in the mirror of the bathroom. I had successfully managed to braid the lower layers of my hair tightly enough, and close enough to my head to achieve a faux bob. The shortest layer of my hair curled under my chin, and disguised any lumps on the back of my head that my braids might have made. I double check my makeup, it was certainly more than I was used to wearing. Plum color lipstick, check. Smoky eyes, check. Goofy grin, check. I slid my feathered headband on my head and adjusted it to lay on my bangs. "I just need to get my dress on!" I rubbed at my panty hose and checked to make sure the seams along the back were straight. I dropped on my cream colored slip, and then wiggled into my olive green dress. It was covered in tiny seed beads all along the top, and the fringe along the bottom brushed just below my knees. I grabbed my t-strap 2 inch heels and ran loudly down the hallway.

~The Nurse, The Cowboy, And The Flapper~

"It's about—wow, you look pretty good." Sakura stopped mid sentence and eyed me. "Yeah, it turned out good." She was wearing a white mid-calf length dress with white low heeled shoes, and a generic nurses hat. I bowed dramatically.

"You look fine as well Dr. Sakura." She laughed, Tenten walked in from the living room and leaned up against Sakura. She was wearing a white button up shirt with embroidery on the cuffs and a shoestring neck tie. She had a pear of blue jeans underneath dark brown chaps with fringe dangling on the side. She wore a worn out pair of cowboy boots, and a felt Stetson hat.

"Well, hey there little lady." She attempted a southern drawl, but instead sounded like she had a stuffy nose. I laughed at her and then patted her on the back roughly.

"Nice try. Where's Hinata?" I looked around, she didn't seem to be hiding anywhere.

"Oh, she's helping with setting up the party. You know, plugging in all the lights and stuff. You got your ticket?" Tenten dropped the southern accent and pulled out her ticket I grabbed my embossed leather purse off the kitchen counter. "You really went all out didn't you?"

"Actually, I've always had this, I just never used it." I pushed apart the kisslock closure and grabbed my bright orange ticket. "There better be enough food to make up for this five bucks."

"Don't worry, it's worth it." I looked around, the dorm was empty, everyone had already left. I sat down at the kitchen table and buckled myself into my shoes.

"Alright, let's go." My shoes, as well as Sakura's, made an obnoxious clicking noise on the pavement. We pushed through the doors of the lobby. Even that had been decorated. The windows were covered with black construction paper, blocking out a good bit of the light. The tree was strung with orange lights, and little craps of fabric in the shape of ghosts hung from the branches. Around the trunk sat a few jack-o-lanterns with electric candles inside.

"Wow, they did an awesome job this year." The three of us turned down the hall towards the gym and saw a line, two students dressed up as a ladybug and a bumblebee were collecting tickets and judging costumes.

"Okay, you can go in, have fun!" I saw a generic Frankenstein go through the doors. Ahead of me I saw Deidara in line next to Sasori. He was wearing pinstripe slacks, a white button up shirt with black y-back suspenders, and a fedora. Seeing him without his trademark pony tail was...odd, to say the least. Sasori was next to him wearing a black shirt and plain black pants, I thought you need a costume to go in?

"Okay, next!" Deidara and Sasori walked up. "Sasori, you know the costume is mandatory."

"Oh wait, I got something, yeah." I saw Deidara fiddle around in his pockets and pull out a cat ear headband.

"Really?" Sasori stared at him. He didn't sound amused

"Yeah, don't worry about it." He forced the headband through his messy hair, and pulled out what looked like a small eyeliner pen. "You need whiskers, hm." He drew three quick lines on either side of his face.

"Well, I guess it's a costume." The girl dressed up as a ladybug shrugged, took their tickets and they walked in. We waited in line for a few more minutes before reaching the two girls, I recognized them from my art class.

"Hey Miharu, nice makeup." The one dressed as a ladybug took our tickets and we walked inside. The floor of the gym was entirely covered with fog, wires on either side of the room had large strips of a gauze like fabric strung between them to block out the ceiling. Purple string lights were hung haphazardly around the room, and a large table full of food and a huge punch bowl was situated in the corner. Small plastic skeletons where hung randomly from the ceiling and dangling through the gauze, as well as small vinyl cut outs in the shape of bats. There was a huge group of costumed students standing in the center of the gym in front of some large speakers.. Behind the speakers was a girl wearing a ripped and stained prom dress, covered in fake blood.

"Alright!" The girl had a gravely voice, "I think you all know this one." I instantly recognized the song.

"Guys! This is my jam!" I screamed and ran over to join the group organizing it self to dance to Thriller. I looked around and didn't see anyone I knew. That's okay! I went through all the motions of the dance without breaking a sweat. I admit, I enjoyed that far more than I should have. I walked out of the group with a huge grin on my face. I looked around but Sakura and Tenten were nowhere to be found. Dammit. I scanned around for a familiar face.

"That was some fancy fucking footwork." I turned around and saw Hidan standing there, and initially I wanted to laugh. He was wearing black pants, boots, and an unlaced pirate shirt. He wore a black cape lined with blood red. He hair was slicked back as usual and when he smirked I could see a set of tooth-cap style fangs. "Well aren't you looking dolled up tonight." He raised an eyebrow and looked me up and down.

"Thanks, that's some nice teeth you've got there." I smirked. He grinned widely and I could see them in full detail, they looked pretty legit. "So how's it going?" I held my hand behind my back and rocked back and forth on my heels.

"Not too bad. Hey, did you and Deidara plan your costumes together, because he's running around looking like Al Capone."

"What? No." I dropped my smirk. "I came up with this on my own." I crossed my arms and pouted.

"He looks a little half-assed anyway." He pointed his thumb over his back and I saw Deidara sitting in a folding chair against the wall clicking away on his cell phone. He twirled his hat with his other hand and tapped his foot in time with the music. I don't know, he looks pretty legitimate to me.

"Stay here I'm going to get something to drink." I walked quickly over to the table with the giant punch bowl, inside it there was a glass skull. I'm really liking these decorations. Next to the table was a figure draped in a sheet, I'd say it was a ghost, but the facial area lacked eye holes. It was as if someone simple draped a sheet over themselves and called it good.

"Hey Shikamaru, nice costume." I said to him as I grabbed a plastic cup and spooned some punch into it.

"Thanks."

"So, are you a ghost, or...?" I must admit I was confused.

"Yeah."

"No eye holes?"

"Too troublesome. I don't even know why I came, it's hard to nap with this music." I laughed and walked back towards Hidan. The spot where he was standing was vacant. Dammit, I lost him too? I finished my drink, and went back to dance with some students I recognized from one of my classes. I paid five dollars for this ticket and I'm not going to waste it by chasing around after people. After dancing for a while I walked back over to the food table and gorged on licorice and candy corn to the point where I felt sick. I looked around and finally saw Tenten's giant hat.

"Hey! Tenten! Come here!" I shouted and started waving. She turned to look at me and smiled before walking over.

"How's it going so far?"

"Well, I can't keep track of anyone. First I lost you and Sakura, then I lost Hidan. The hell is going on?" Tenten laughed.

"Sakura went off looking for Sasuke, you know how she is. Dude, did you see Ino?" I whipped my head around trying to locate her obnoxious blonde head. "Don't make it obvious." She lightly smacked the back of my head and subtly pointed to her left. I followed the trail her finger made and saw Ino dancing rather, inappropriately. She was wearing a red corset with a matching tutu skirt. She had knee high pointed stiletto boots, and atop her head sat two small horns. I've never seen a costume so accurately reflect someone's personality.

"Whoa, accurate costume." Tenten smirked. "Hey, you want to dance?" The student DJ was playing euro-dance. "You can't suck any more than me." I winked and grabbed her hand. "Let's go!" I pulled her to the dance floor and we did every corny 80s dance move you could imagine. From 'running man' to 'the sprinkler' we covered it all. We were so bad the we cleared a small circle around us of people who were afraid to get injured by our wildly flailing limbs. I saw Sakura walk over, laughing.

"Someone told me there were two dorks tearing up the dance floor, and I just knew it had to be you guys." Behind her I saw Hinata. She was wearing long cream and gold colored robes with a silver circlet resting on her head, peaking out from her back was a plastic bow and quiver.

"Join us! It's fun!" I grabbed both of her arms and started dancing again.

"No, that's alright." I dropped her arms.

"Party pooper." She laughed.

"Hey, did you plan your costume with-" Sakura started.

"No! I didn't! Why does everyone keep asking me!" I was getting frustrated. I looked around the room and saw Deidara grabbing something to eat. I'm going to settle this.

"Hey, you!" He turned around a looked at me.

"So you went Great Gatsby too, hm?" I don't want to admit it, but he was kind of decent looking when he had his hair down like that.

"More like Mediocre Gatsby in your case." I pushed out my lower lip and crossed my arms in anger.

"You really think that?" He said with disbelief in his voice, and raised an eyebrow.

"No, yours is pretty good." Alright, his costume did look pretty legitimate, and I'm a sucker for anyone in a suit.

"As much as I hate to admit it, yours looks pretty era appropriate too, hm."

"Uh, thanks." I muttered out awkwardly and scratched the back of my head. "Tell Sasori I like his 'costume'." I looked across the gym near the door to the locker room and saw him wiping pointlessly at the marks on his face. "Those whiskers are really stuck on there."

"Yeah, it's permanent marker. I told him it was eyeliner." We both laughed and then stopped abruptly.

"Well, I'm just going to go now." I shuffled away towards the wall. I leaned up against it and observed everyone. If I stuffed myself with any more candy I think I'd explode.

"Don't feel like dancing?" I turned and saw Naruto, wearing a bright orange shirt and red pants. He had a headband with two fluffy orange ears on it and when he moved I could see a fur tail dangling from the back of his belt. Three short black whiskers were draw on his face, along with a rounded black triangle on his nose. Over the last few weeks, I had gotten to know him pretty well. It certainly helps that he's in most of my classes.

"Dude, I'm so burnt." I leaned forward. "You should have seen me tearing it up earlier. It was mad crazy."

"You sure you still don't got one left in you?" I looked over at him and saw him grin while rubbing the back of his head.

"I suppose I do." I smirked and walked out with him to the dance 'area'. An energetic song started to play. He put his left hand on my upper back, and I rested my right on his shoulder and then we held out free hands together. We swayed around like a bunch of dorks, occasionally I'd spin myself out, or I'd start to rock back and forth. We'd crack jokes or laugh whenever I'd step on his feet.

"Okay, okay, so favorite ramen?" I looked at him seriously.

"Duh, Ichiraku's. Why did you even ask?" I laughed.

"Fine, favorite instant ramen." He looked up towards the ceiling in thought.

"Pork, you?" He grinned.

"I'm gonna have to go with chili." I laughed, spun myself out and then twirled dramatically back in. "Pork's good too though."

"Oh! Spicy ramen is good too. Any ramen is good. I want ramen." I heard his stomach growl.

"One of these days, I'll take you to Ichiraku's, my treat." He got excited and started jumping around just as the song ended.

"Promise?" We were walking back to the wall. I adjusted Naruto's crooked headband.

"For sure. I don't break promises." I patted him on the back and he walked away towards Kiba. Those two definitely planned their costumes together. Kiba was dressed up as a wolf, in the exact same style as Naruto. I turned around and saw Hidan walking towards me. "There you are! You totally disappeared on me! What gives?" He looked around.

"Kakuzu texted me and needed help with something, he's a dumb fuck." He started laughing, and I couldn't help but smirk. "You want to squeeze in one more dance?" My stomach growled in protest, all of this dancing around was making me sick.

"Sure, lets go for it." If I puke, then so be it. I don't care anymore. My eyelids were beginning to weigh down, and I half closed my eyes. We reached a clear-ish spot and I turned to face him, he wrapped his left arm around my lower back, and I rested my right along his upper arm, he was a bit too tall to reach his shoulder without it feeling awkward. He grabbed my free hand with his and laced his fingers between mine. His hand nearly swallowed my tiny one.

"Jeez, you're going straight for the kill." I smirked at him.

"I try not to waste time." He abruptly pulled me in a few more inches, even though I was already fairly close. We started dancing in time with the music in a similar way that I did with Naruto. Hidan on the other hand was much more coordinated and smooth.

"Well aren't you just a proficient dancer." I said as I spun out. I have to admit, I was rather impressed. I hadn't had my toes stepped on. I never would have pegged him for the dancing type.

"It comes naturally." He pulled me back in. "You're not too bad yourself."

"Thanks, although that's not natural, I had taken a few classes before I transferred." I looked around and saw several other students attempting to dance similarly, though it was fairly sloppy.

"Well hell, it looks like those classes paid off then." I grinned to myself. "By the way, you look fucking fabulous." I assumed it was a sincere compliment.

"Well thanks, you're looking pretty fine yourself." Oh my god, did I just flirt back? He thanked me and we finished dancing to the song that was currently playing.

"Hey you want to take a break for a little bit? It's stuffy as fuck in here." I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. With the 200 or so students in here, it was beginning to heat up quickly. I followed next to him and both of us walked out into the lobby just as two students were walking in. The sun had set, and there wasn't any more light peaking in through the construction paper lining the windows and doors. The entire lobby was lit orange by the string lights in the trees and the electric candles in the jack-o-lanterns. I stood in front of the tree facing the doors and inspected the pieces of construction paper.

"They made the tree look really pretty." I looked over my shoulder behind me and then turned back, I held my arms behind my back and rocked back and forth. Hidan stood in front of me and looked at me oddly for a second. "What?" I stopped moving.

"Are you busy on the 14th?" I thought for a second.

"No, I don't think so. Why?"

"Can you ice skate?"

"No, why?"

"Good, I can show you." So like a date? I'm confused. " I've had enough partying for tonight, though." He stepped in front of me and cupped both of his hands behind my ears. Quicker than I could process what was happening, he pulled me in and placed his lips against my forehead. "Goodnight." He whispered in my hair. I felt my heart pound in my chest as he turned away and walked out the door.

I think I'm swooning.
