*-* Rain's Point Of View *-*

"What're we going to do all day? This is boring." I half asked, half whined.

Domon looked up and smiled at me. We had been sitting reading magazines and such for the past hour, and quite frankly, I was bored.

"I was wondering when you would ask." He said.

"What do you have up your sleeve that you aren't telling me about?" I looked at him, trying to keep a straight face. But I couldn't. I laughed in spite of myself.

"Well-"

There was a knock at the door, and both Domon and I looked towards it. Domon got up from the chair he was sitting in to join me. He took my hand and called out.

"Come in."

A doctor entered the room, closing the door behind him. He reached out to shake Domon's hand, and mine.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Greghaven. I have your test results."

"Test results?" I looked helplessly to Domon.

"Yes, just simple tests." He replied, as if talking about the weather. "Hospital procedure."

"What're the results?" Domon asked.

"Well..." he leafed through a file he was carrying.

We stared impatiently as he searched for the paper.

"Ah...here we are. Rain Kashuu isn't it? Well, good news. No damaged lungs, no damaged liver, or anything. You were hit in the kidney, but we removed it, and you are in otherwise good health. Oh, the bullet missed your left ovary, so you are still very able to have children."

Domon breathed a sigh of relief and squeezed my shoulder.

"When can she get out of here?" he asked.

"Err...I'd say another week or so. But you'll have to be careful, ease back into things. No rough housing, if you know what I mean."

He winked at us as my cheeks flushed, and walked out of the room.

Domon laughed and turned to me, smiling from ear to ear.

"Rain this is such great news!" he said, in awe of our good fortune, "Everything is fine...you are fine! You are fine!"

And with that, I laughed. I laughed and I started to cry at the same time from joy and relief. Domon started to laugh and cry too, and he kissed me. Little baby kisses that covered all of my exposed skin. I kissed him too, just letting the world be okay for the time being.

Domon stopped kissing me, and he looked into my eyes, pressing his forehead against mine, a smile tugging at his lips.

"You know Mrs. Kashuu, he said you were still very much able to have kids."

My mouth dropped open in awe, and he bent and started sucking on my bottom lip, laughs escaping us both. His hands rested on my sides as we kissed each other sweetly, time and time again. I lost myself in Domon, swept away in his gentle love.

I snaked my hands around his neck, inching him closer. Pressing myself against him, I felt his hands slide down my back. We continued to make out for a while until Domon decided there was something he needed to tell me.

He brought a hand up to cover my mouth, and I stared into his eyes intently, waiting for him to speak.

"Rain?"

"Yes?"

"What you said before...about how you wanted to be treated. I would never...ever...use you like that. I don't think of you as a sex toy. I couldn't."

I smiled at how well he paid attention and remembered.

"Domon," I say, caressing his cheek, "I said that because I wanted you to know that that is the exact opposite of how I think of you. You were at the end. You were the someone who sees me for who I really am."

He smiled and pulled me close. I rested in his embrace, taking in his sweet scent. He breathed deeply, kissing my shoulder, sucking on it lightly. I let out a moan of pleasure.

"I love you Domon Kashuu."

"I love you Rain Mikamura."

"Stay with me?" "Always."

I leaned against him, eyes closed, letting him rub my back softly. His hand slipped under the apron and his bare flesh on mine sent a satisfying tingle through me.

"I'm glad you're okay Rain. I don't know what I would have done."

"I'm glad too. There is a whole lifetime I want to spend with you, and I'd hate to have it taken away."

Silence reigns over us as he holds me. After a minute, he says something.

"You forgot about the surprise I have."

"The surprise?" I was lost.

"You were bored?"

"That was before we were all over each other." I said, my cheeks pink.

"Well, I have to admit that was fun, but there is something else for us to do, something much more appropriate."

I looked at him questioningly.

"Actually," he said, "it's not happening today."

"Domon, I can't even sit up in bead without hurting myself. What can I possibly do?"

"Your parents are coming in tomorrow."

"MOM AND DAD!!!! FLYING IN FROM BOSTON!!!!!! WHOOOO HOOOO!!!"

Domon smiled at me, like a father glad to see his sick daughter feeling happy.

"Heh. You're funny when you're excited."

"Well, I haven't seen them for a month and a half, so I'm happy."

"I'm glad." He said, looking content.

"Domon, did you plan all this?"

"Yes."

I threw my arms around him, half laughing, half crying. He let me stay, draping his arms over me. I rested against him for a few moments before pulling back and looking into his eyes.

"Don't cry baby." He said, wiping my cheeks dry.

"Ha, sorry, I'm just so happy that they're coming and so blessed that someone like you would do this for me."

"I love you and you are hurting. I knew you would want to be near your family. That's the kind of person you are." He said firmly.

"I know. Thanks."

We sat there together, lovingly. But he was fidgeting a little, so I knew there was something more he needed to say.

"Domon. What is it."

"Nothing really...its just, when your parents get here, do you want me to leave? Give you some alone time?"

I turned my head lay my left ear against his chest, listening to his heart beat slowly and evenly. I smiled.

"Domon, you are my family. Why would you leave?"

"I'm not your real family though."

"Are you sure that's true? Families have people, a place to live, they go out together, they have fun, they work hard, facing good times and bad times, they lean on each other, and most of all, they have love. Which one of those don't we have?"

He lets out a chuckle and kisses the top of my head.

"I always thought you were intelligent."

The rest of the day passed uneventfully. I spent most of it wondering what was going to happen when my parents arrived. I knew I loved Domon, and I was anxious to learn how Domon would act around my parents. I sure hoped he knew how to impress parents. It would be hard to tell them about everything, but Domon has my back, so that reassures me a lot. I'm glad he's around.

Tomorrow promises to be a really long day.
