Miku's Point of View
I had a hard time thinking about what was going on in class. My eyes would continually drift down to the ring Kaito had given me. It made me smile just thinking about him. I can't believe at one point, we had broken up. That seemed like ages ago. Now we were happy. Kaito was going to graduate on time with his now stellar grades. I knew he could do it with just a little motivation. Funny how abstaining from sex did it. I wonder what his teachers would think if they knew that.
The bell rang and Neru immediately jumped to my side. She's been overly nervous lately. Ever since she heard about some poor girl getting beaten up by Tensei, aka Mizki and her team of twins, she's been stuck to me like glue. At least I can defend myself a little. Kaito has been teaching me some martial arts. I was getting pretty good too. I hope I don't ever have to use it though I wouldn't mind using what I learned on Mizki.
Kaito and Nero patiently waited outside the classroom for us. As soon as Neru saw Nero, she immediately jumped into his arms and didn't let go. I can only imagine how'd she'd get back to our dorm without one of us. She's just so easily startled. The poor thing.
"Would you calm down? Mizki isn't stupid enough to hurt you. If she lays a hand on you, I'll just break her arm in half. Problem solved." Nero said.
"I don't want you to break her arm. I just…I…I don't want to be alone." Neru said in a small voice.
Nero sighed. "Yeah I know." He leaned down and kissed her hair. "I've got you." Neru happily wrapped her arms around Nero's arm. She wouldn't be letting go of him for a while.
"Well look who it is." I knew that voice anywhere. Of course it was Mizki. She had Nana and Coco with her as well as Cul. She's been keeping Cul close lately. She knows how much that girl scares me. She scares anyone who comes near her. I don't like her being anywhere near Kaito. I wanted to run but I can't back down. Not from her or anyone. Not when the competition is so close.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Just to see if your prepared for the competition. I heard you're having a bit of trouble on Kyousei island." Mizki made a fake sad face. "Poor like Luka. One of your most talented singer's is down for the count. What will you do now?"
"Luka is fine." I answered. "If you'd get your information correct, she dumped Kiyoteru. She'll be on her A game for the competition."
Mizki smiled evilly. "We'll see. Cul gets antsy waiting. Who knows what she'll do?"
Cul looked Kaito over from head to toe. "It's been awhile Kaito." She walked closer to us. "If only things had ended differently. Perhaps–"
I snatched her hand before she could lay a hand on him. "Hands off."
"And what are you going to do about it?" Cul asked tearing her wrist away from me.
"I don't have to do anything. He already chose me over you. You can think about what could have been. But it won't be. Your second best. How does that feel?" I asked.
She was about to attack me when Coco pulled her away. "You can't get another suspension or you'll get expelled."
I slid my arms around Kaito. "Looks like even you have your limits."
"I have no limitations." Cul snapped. "I'm coming for you Miku Hatsune. Consider yourself warned. I'll take you and whatever else you love. That much I promise you." She stormed away tearing her wrist away from Coco and she walked.
"We'll see you around." Mizki said evilly. She turned on her heels and walked away with Nana and Coco close behind.
"What is with her obsession with me?" Kaito asked.
I slid into his arms. "She wants what she can't have. She hates me. The fact that I want you makes you valuable to her."
Kaito rolled his eyes. "If only she'd understand I'm not a fan of red heads."
"That bitch really steams me." Nero growled.
Neru was clutching hold of him for dear life. "What are we going to do?"
"Nothing. She won't do anything and if she does, I'll handle it." I answered. "I'm done playing nice. Playing nice gets people like Cul to think she can do more than she should. We will not have a repeat of what happened to Oliver."
Neru shook with fear. "Do you think they'd do that again?"
"Not while I'm here." Nero answered. "I think we need a new policy. No one is left alone. Ever."
I nodded. "I agree."
Kaito pulled me close. "We can't afford more injuries so close to the competition."
I started walking. "Let's go. We have a lot to talk about."
.,.,.,.
It had been a long time since we had a group meeting. Everyone's been a little awkward around each other. The guys were siding with Kiyoteru and the girls with Luka. The air in the room was uncomfortable. Luka wasn't taking this well. All she does is eat chocolate and read the same romance novel over and over again. She stole it from my shelf. I don't mind. Whatever makes her feel better. Still, things were getting weird. I think there's unspoken zones now for who sides with Kiyoteru and who sides with Luka. That makes Nero's idea a little bit harder to speak of. Still, it was important.
I had decided to make this a secret meeting. I felt bad leaving Rin, Piko, Len, Miko, IA, Oliver, Neru, Teto, Meiko, Luka, Gumi, and Miki out of this but this wasn't something they needed to hear about. It would scare the crap out of them. This was something for those who could handle it. I had gathered everyone together in the theater knowing that the people who mostly hung out here were already in the room. I didn't need Len coming down the stairs and seeing us all having a meeting in the living room.
"Where is everyone else?" Haku asked.
"This is everyone." I answered. "Today Cul threatened us. Nothing out of the ordinary for her but I think she's thinking of escalating her current escapades. That is not good for us. Nero suggested we never leave anyone alone and I agree with him. We need to protect those who can't fight for themselves, myself too. I gathered you here because I know the lot of you can handle yourselves…and I think it's best that everyone that isn't here, doesn't find out about this."
Ritsu shook his head. "I can't keep secrets from Miko."
"I'm not asking you too. If she asks about you, you can tell her exactly what's going on." I awkwardly rubbed the back of my neck. "I'd call it strategically avoiding telling someone. How do you think she'd react if she found out about this?"
Ritsu sighed. "She'd hide under her bed for a few days." Ritsu sighed. "Fine."
"Neru already knows about this so why isn't she here." Nero objected. "Neru only knows that it happened. I'm not asking you to change your habits. Your around Neru all the time anyways."
Nero looked away. "I don't like this. This is not the idea I came up with."
"I get it." Haku said. "They cannot handle knowing about this. It's best to let them carry on with their normal lives rather then walk around scared out of their minds."
"What about Meiko? She's more than tough enough to handle this." Akaito objected.
I crossed my arms. "But Meiko can't fight can she? That's why." I met his eyes. "If you want to tell her, go ahead…but you know she dealt with Gumi last year. Do you want to drudge up those memories?"
Akaito groaned. "I hate this."
"You don't have to like it." Kaito answered. "You have to do it. It's for the best. Let them be happy for a bit longer."
Gakupo stood. "I'm in. No one needs to go through what Gumi did."
"I'd like to ask that everyone keep an eye on Umi." Lui said.
Umi glared at him. "What the hell? You know I'm just as strong as you are!"
Lui met her eyes. "But you're also a woman. I won't allow you to be raped because you think your strong enough."
Umi's eyes widened for a moment before she looked away. "Fine."
"What about Luka?" Kiyoteru asked. His eyes averted everyone else's.
"I'll keep an eye on Luka." Poiyo answered. "We have a few classes together. It'll be easy to explain why I hang around her a little more than normal."
"Try to fill in when you can. If you notice someone leaving alone. Ask to join them or find someone who can." I explained. "Last year we went through a terrible trauma before the competition. We've already been hit once with Oliver. Let's not let it happen again."
Everyone began to disperse. Some talked about who they would be working to guard. Other's asked how they were going to hide this from their girlfriends. Nero came to me immediately.
"I don't like his Miku." He said angrily.
"I know." I laid my hand on his shoulder. "But it's for Neru. For everyone. You know how she reacted today. I don't think she knows exactly what Cul was talking about. If she did, you know she wouldn't have let you leave for a second."
Nero looked away from me. "I hate it when your right."
"I know you do." I moved so he was looking at me. "Look on the bright side. You'll have a damn good reason to spend extra time with Neru. Neru did mention to me that she's missed you a lot lately since you've been playing so many video games with the guys."
Nero sighed. "Fine. You made your point. Just…watch her…when I can't."
I nodded. "You know I always do. Neru is like a sister to me."
Finally, a smile slid onto Nero's face. He ruffled my hair. "You're alright sometimes." He started to go but I caught his hand.
"Please Nero…protect Neru." I said with worried eyes.
He smirked. "You don't have to worry about her. She's as protected as a prime minister." And with that he was off to find Neru. The room had emptied out now leaving Kaito and I alone.
"Are you sure it's a good idea to keep this a secret from them?" he asked.
I nodded. "This isn't something we can debate. Were at war until the competition is over." I met his eyes. "Come on. We still have a lot of work to do to prepare for tonight's rehearsal."
Kaito nodded. "Then let's go."
.,.,.,.
I had forgotten what it was like to fall asleep in Kaito's arms. We both have been so busy. Him trying to get his grades up. Myself trying to prepare for the competition. Were so behind. I'm worried we won't be ready. Plus the whole Luka and Kiyoteru break up and we've had no time together. It was nice to have a moment that was just the two of us…even if it was only for a short while.
I awoke to Kaito smoothing my hair soothingly. It was something he'd do when he was thinking about how lucky he was. He had mentioned that on numerous occasions. I thought it was sweet.
"Good morning." I whispered as I looked up at him.
He smiled down at me. "It is a good morning." He gave me a quick kiss. "Since you're here."
I chuckled. "Cute." I snuggled closer to him. "I'm so tired…would you think less of me if I said that I wanted to skip all my classes and stay with you all day?"
He kissed my hair lovingly. "Not for a second. Sadly, I have a test today…but my first period is as dull as an unsharpened sword."
I shook my head. "You shouldn't skip. Neither should I. We'll just snuggle all day on the weekend…after ice cream."
His arms around me tightened. "Best girlfriend ever!"
I sighed. "What are we going to do about Luka and Kiyoteru?"
Kaito groaned. Obviously unhappy that I had killed the mood. "Kiyoteru's been a lot more social lately. I'd say he's doing fine even though he misses Luka like crazy."
"Luka…she's just…she's not really doing anything. She keeps reading the same book over and over again." I explained.
"That's not too weird. Luka loves to read." Kaito pointed out.
"It's a romance novel Kaito. A romance novel. Usually her books are in English or German or something that I can't read." I said.
Kaito's eyebrows rose. "Okay that's weird."
"Why won't Kiyoteru say something to her?" I asked.
"Rook gave him some advice. You know Luka would get pissed off he tried to say something to her. Rook suggested he give her some space for a while then try to fix things." Kaito explained.
I sighed. I'm going to kill Rook when I find him. "When Kiyoteru didn't come looking for her, she thought he didn't love her."
Kaito groaned. "I changed my mind. Rook's an idiot."
I wrapped my arms around him. "Well Rook was right about one thing. Luka does need time to make herself okay with this."
"She'll be happy to know that he's going to stay another year." Kaito said.
My eyes widened. "What? Why didn't you tell me?" I shouted.
Kaito stared at me in shock at my sudden outburst. "I thought you knew. Haku's been working to get him a scholarship so his father can't tell him he can't stay here."
"What does his father have to do with this?" I asked. What hasn't Kiyoteru been telling Luka. I hear about anything Kiyoteru. I probably know him just as well as she does. How did I not know this?
"The reason why Kiyoteru is graduating early is because his father refuses to pay for another year here when Kiyoteru can simply go off to college a year early." Kaito explained. "His father is not going to be happy about his decision but I'm sure he'll get over it."
I fell back against the bed in exasperation. "Kiyoteru is an idiot."
"That's what we said." Kaito answered. "Being in a relationship is all about being honest."
I met his eyes. "If your being honest, do you regret giving me this ring?"
Kaito gave me a confused look. "What brought this on?"
I snuggled up close to him in an attempt to avoid his eyes. "Luka brought up the other day that the ring has done wonders to improve our relationship. You didn't just give me this to make me like you more did you?"
Kaito tilted my chin up forcing me to meet his eyes. "I gave you that ring because I love you…and I can't propose with us not being able to legally marry." He ran his hand down my face. "You are the woman I love. I want you to be my wife. You are all I'll ever want. That I promise you Miku."
I averted his eyes. "I'm sorry I doubted you. I know better than to read into things the girls say."
Kaito kissed me to my surprise. "It's okay. We haven't really talked about it much." He took my hand with the ring and stared at with a smile on his face. "This ring is a place holder for the real deal when were both out of this school. You are the only one for me. I will have you all to myself."
"You already have me all to yourself…since the day we met, I knew there was something special between us." I kissed his cheek. "It's you and I for as long as you want me."
He kissed me. "Then expect to be with me for a long time cause I won't be letting you go."
"We'll let's see what we can do about that." I whispered as I ran my finger down his bare chest. We didn't go to our first class that day.

I bet none of you expected two chapters in two days. I hoped you enjoyed this one. I'm trying to build for the competition. I know I haven't done much with it but at the same time, there's a lot I wanted to get done before the competition. With the wedding and trying to get characters together, there hasn't been much room for the competition. Next chapter, I think I'm going to play around with Teto, IA and Ted's characters focusing in the costume design which I know I haven't done before. Tell me if you think that's a good idea in the comments. Send me a Private message if you want if you have some ideas for where the stories doing. Whatever you want to do. Thanks so much for sticking with me. I know you all probably hate me for not posting a chapter since like…January. I apologize for the wait but this week I'm going to be hashing out as many chapters as possible. Luv you guys and I hope your enjoying this story.
