When I woke up I had no idea where I was besides the fact I was lying in a small bed. "Hello?" "Bell?! I'm so glad you're awake!" "Jason? Where am I?" "You're in Gotham General. Chris was crazy worried, and so was I when I got the call for both of you." "Where is Chris? Is he alright?" "He's doing fine. He's in a room down the hall, and I believe he's in the process of being discharged. Who knows how long that will take to get done?" "How long have we been here for?" "The benefit was yesterday, and it's about six p.m. now." "When can I leave?" "I'm not sure Bells. You were out longer than a most of the others. The doctor said he'd probably keep you here for an additional night just for observation once you woke up." "For what? I feel fine. I just want to go home." "They need to make sure you're functioning properly inside and out. I'm not letting you escape till you get the green light." I rolled my eyes. "Fine, but if I have to stay here I want decent food. I feel like I'm starving." "I'll get you something to eat." I felt him lean over me and kiss my forehead. "You gave me a hell of a scare kid; I'm glad you're okay." "Me too." "Alright well I'll take off and go search for some descent food." "Ha, you'll have to leave the hospital to do that." I laughed at the grumpy sound the left him. "Yeah, well no escaping in the meantime ya hear?" "Escaping will not happen. It's not like I could if I tried anyway." "I'll be as quick as I can." "Thanks big bro, you're the best." He ruffled my hair before taking off. "I know."

Once he was gone I closed my eyes reflecting on the last 24 hours. Soon enough I heard a commotion outside my door. "Yes, yes I'm fine. I told you people already that I filled out my damn forms; just let me see my friend." "We explained to you that only family can go in." "And I explained to aaaall of you that I'm her roommate. I have every right to go in and check on her." I scrunched up my face in confusion. 'I know that voice.' I pulled myself up into a seated position and decided to try my luck. "Chris?" It took a few tries before I was loud enough for them to hear.

Footsteps came rushing to my door. "See she's asking for me! I'm going in there and you all can go back to doing your damn job." "Fine, since she's awake and asking for you, you may go in." "I'd say thanks but well, you know."

I soon felt a hand grab mine and I smiled. "Oh thank goodness Bells I was freaking out. Are you alright?" I nodded. "I think so. I feel fine anyways. Jason seems to think they may keep me overnight again." "That sucks but at least you're awake now." "Yeah." "Where is Jason by the way? I was sure he'd be here." "I sent him to get us some edible food." "Oh." "He shouldn't be gone too terribly long." "Alright." "So, how are you doing? Where did you go last night? You left me." "I'm perfectly fine. Everyone got knocked out with whatever gas Joker had last night. My sorry ass got jumped when I came out of the bathroom." "What?!" "Yeah. I came out and got knocked out by a couple goons. When I woke up I was on the bathroom floor. I went into the women's bathroom to find you but you were already gone." "Shit, so you didn't leave me; we were both just using the wrong bathrooms." "Yeah, so after going in there I headed back to the kitchens hoping you had found your way back but…" "I was already with Joker." "Which no one knew. Mr. Wayne sent some guards out to find you and had the rest of us go back to performing so we wouldn't cause all the guests to panic." I nodded. "This is all so surreal." Chris squeezed my hand. "Yeah, are you sure you're okay?" "Physically yes I'm pretty sure just a couple sore spots, but mentally and emotionally? That's kinda up in the air." "Soreness doesn't surprise me since you've got a nice sized welt on your forehead, and I'm pretty sure it's not a horn." "Ah."

"So I gotta ask; how was it being an accomplice to a robbery?" I rolled my eyes and shoved him away. "Hardy har har, you're funny." He laughed. "But seriously." "It was scary. I was by no means prepared to be around him." "Did he hurt you?" "Not really, just scared me a bit. I'm certain we're not through with whatever we have going on." "Well just so you know I'm still on board with disappearing if you want." "Thanks but I'm not one to run away." "I know, just figured I'd remind you I'm behind you." I nodded and smiled softly. "Thanks, that means a lot especially with what we've already been through. I'm sorry for accusing you of abandoning me." Chris patted my hand. "No problem Bells. We both went through a lot and if the positions were switched I probably would've thought the same as you. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing to forgive."

I'm not sure how much time passed before there was a knock on the door. "I do hope I'm not interrupting a special moment." "Who?" Chris jerked away. "Oh Mr. Wayne, what a surprise to see you here. I don't suppose you're out checking on all your attendees from last night?" "Actually I have visited with all of last evening patrons. You two were last on my list." I scoffed. "How nice that we'd be saved for last." There was no response as Mr. Wayne neared my bed. I felt something lightweight being placed on my lap followed by the squeak of leather as he sat in a chair opposite Chris. "Hardly last for negative reasons I assure you. I had hopes to check on you individually but this works just as well I suppose." I felt someone grab my hand and place it on the mystery object in my lap. Wrapping my fingers around it I had a guess as to what it was. "Flowers? How thoughtful." "They're quite lovely Bells." I raised an eyebrow in inquiry. "They're hyacinth, violet and blue." "Would you mind stepping out for a few minutes Chris? I'd like to speak to Ms. Night alone." "Sure." I felt Chris squeeze my hand before getting up. "If you need me I'll be right outside. I'll keep a lookout for Jason." I nodded towards him. "Thanks Chris."

I waited to hear the door close before turning towards Mr. Wayne. "So hyacinth huh? Not what I expected." I could hear the amusement in his voice when he responded. "I was going to go with the standard roses but the woman at the florist shop insisted if I wanted something a bit more sincere to go with these. She said they're the epitome of an apology flower." "And what are you apologizing for? Did you set up the whole disaster or are you sorry you ran out on everyone?" I couldn't help the acidity that bit through my words. "No I didn't but a part of me feels like I should've been more prepared. I do regret leaving when it happened, but if I hadn't I fear we wouldn't have gotten help fast enough to stop the Joker." I flinched when said his name and hoped he didn't notice. It was in vain. "I can't begin to imagine what you went through with him, but I am relieved to know you're alright."

I scrunched up my brows in thought. "Do you know what happened in there? Besides the robberies." "From what I was told, the Joker and his men let loose some sort of knockout gas once Batman made an appearance. After the gas was released Joker and his guys vanished pretty quickly with whatever they could." "Chris told me about the gas which explains the chocking, passing out, and the knot on my head. I vaguely remember Batman making an appearance and speaking to me briefly. Too bad he couldn't get everyone's property back. I don't suppose with all your connections that's who you were calling for help haha." "Ha, if only it were that easy. It seems even I'm not high enough on the scale to warrant Batman's number." I laughed. "Too bad, could've saved some people from a concussion." "I wish I had." "Hey if bruises and concussions are the worst of what happened I consider us all lucky. Who knows what could've happened." He reached over and held my hand, and I surprised myself by not pulling away. "Thank you." 'He probably needs a bit of comfort just like everyone else.' I nodded. "Any who, now that you've paid your respects to all of us banged up folk I suppose you'll be on your way." I heard him sigh. "There's actually another reason for why I was waiting to see you last." "Oh?"

I listened to him take a deep breath as he pulled his hand away for me distancing himself. "With everything that happened last night I felt particularly bad about your experience. You already seem to have a bad opinion of me and that couldn't have made it better." "True but I'll cut you a break since I know you didn't mean for me to get hijacked." "Be that as it may I'd like to make you an offer. Feel free to not accept if you aren't interested but I wanted to give you the option." "Alright Mr. Wayne you'd have me on the edge of my seat if it weren't for the IV stuck in my arm, please tell me this grand offer." "Christine, don't you think we're on first name basis by now?" "That depends on what you say next." "Heh alright. For the past few years there have been a group of doctors I've been funding research for." "And what have they been doing research for?" "Solving blindness." I could feel a cloud of anger build around me. "Mr. Wayne if this is your idea of a joke I assure you it is not funny nor is it appreciated. You can leave now." "Ms. Night I promise it is not my intention to upset you; this is all true. The team has developed a way to go in and from what I understand reconfigure the nerves in the eye. They are getting ready to start doing their first trial. Now there is no guarantee that you would regain your full sight. The chosen participants have different amounts of vision loss and the results can vary." "So it's a total crap shoot." "No that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that there may be a way for you to gain partial if not complete vison. All you see is darkness now, what would you have to lose?" "I've dealt with the lack of sight for years and was told it was irreversible. Why should I listen to you?" "Because of hope. They have had successful surgeries with their test subjects." "Which are animals I'm sure." "Yes but…" "But their success has proven that it must be safe for humans as well, and since my sight can't get worse why not let someone slice away at me." "If I didn't think that it was safe or that it wouldn't work I wouldn't even have mentioned it. This is a real chance for you to see again." "And if I agreed what would it cost? Would I have to sell my soul to pay for the cost?" "No, all you have to do is show up to the first meeting; they're having it Wednesday. It's just to go over paperwork and everything that the surgery and recovery entails. I already added your name to the list of applicants, but that's just for protocol."

I closed my eyes rubbing my hands over my face. I sighed tilting my head back with my eyes still closed. "You're serious aren't you?" "Yes." I nodded. "I'll think about it." "I'll leave all the information on your side table. If you need anything and I mean anything, please don't hesitate to contact me." I sat there deep in thought listening to him make his way to the door. The sound of Chris and Jason's voices broke me out of my thoughts. "Mr. Wayne what are you doing here?" "Just checking on everyone from last night. And you are?" "I'm Jason, Belladonna's brother." "It's an honor to meet you. You two gentleman take care." 'Ugh I hate giving in.' "Wait!" "Yes Ms. Night?" "Thank you Bruce, for everything." I could practically hear him smile. "You're very welcome Belladonna. Get well soon. I wish you the best." With that he left me to my thoughts and Jason and Chris made their way to each side of my bed.

The two of them waited a few minutes to make sure Mr. Wayne was gone before they started interrogating me. I could feel their curiosity coming off of them in waves. I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Go ahead ask away." "Bells do you fancy Mr. Wayne?!" I reached over and gave Chris a gentle shove on the shoulder. "No way! As if!" "Mmmhmm well I think he might fancy you!" "Come off it Chris, he's just trying to make himself feel better about last night." Jason took a chance to speak up. "Well I gotta say him paying for hospital bills is a good way to go about it." I turned his way frowning. "What do you mean?" "He paid for everyone's hospital stay, I mean the ones here as a result of last night's clown encounter." "And yet he's taking it a step further for me." "What do you mean?" "Take a look at the papers he left on the table."

I waited patiently while both Jason and Chris read through the paperwork. Their gasps let me know when they figured out just what Mr. Wayne had wanted to speak with me about. Their reactions differed a little though, Chris with enthusiasm and Jason with hesitance. "Bells this is amazing!" Jason took ahold on my hand. "Is this something that you want Bell? I'd hate for you to get your hopes up on something that isn't a sure thing, and this is dangerous." "I know, but I think I want to do this. If nothing else I want to go to the meeting Wednesday and hear what they have to say." "Alright, whatever you want." I smiled softly and laughed. "Well a least I can't get any worse." I could practically hear my brother's eyes rolling as he scoffed. "That's one way of looking at it." "Well let's get her out of here then J man." "Don't call me that, and besides she isn't going anywhere until tomorrow."

I scrunched my face up in disgust. "I'm assuming that means that you've already talked to my doctors again?" "Yeah while you and Mr. Wayne were having your little chat." "I nodded." "When will I be able to go home tomorrow?" "Hopefully pretty early. The doctor said as long as everything checks out you'll be free to go at a decent time." I turned my face in Chris' direction with a concerned look. "So what does this mean for work? I don't suppose you've heard anything?" "Shit! I didn't even try to get a hold of Lisa." I heard the chair scrap across the floor. "I will be right back!" Jason and I laughed as Chris ran out of the room. "I think he may be just a tiny bit scattered haha." "Bell that's all the time, it's nothing new." I just nodded my head while I laughed.

A few minutes later Chris joined us back in the room. "Well sir what's the word?" "The word is… that we still need to show up if we can and work will continue like normal." "And what does that mean?" "It means that anyone that doesn't come in today is excused do to the circumstances. To make things easier on us she is creating a set list from previous songs that we've done." I nodded. "Well there's that at least. No one will have to be stressed out about anything." "Yeah, and she said she'll text everyone the new set list so we can be prepared for practice on Thursday." "Well at least it should be an easy week."

I felt Jason put his hand on my arm before a weight was placed in my lap. "Great, well now that you two have gotten settled and we've figured out this Wayne thing; I believe it's time to eat this cold food I brought." "Yay my favorite." "Haha I know, right next to warm Chinese food." I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. "You got it bro." Jason and Chris took out the containers divvying it between us before we all started to dig in.

(Next morning.)

I was half awake trying to process what my doctor was telling me. From what I gathered I was fine a ready to go. 'Finally.' I pulled myself up more in the bed and readied myself to stand up. I paused when I heard my doctor chuckle. "Now wait just a moment Ms. Night, one of the nurses will be in shortly to help unhook you from your monitors and IV. We've already contacted you're brother and he should be here soon as well." I nodded pouting bit. "You were quite lucky considering what brought you in here. It'll be a good idea to take an easy during the next couple days. You still have a rather nice sized knot on your head and significant bruising. If it starts to cause you discomfort simply taking a couple aspirin should do the trick." I nodded again vaguely listening. The doctor left once all instructions were given and I was left waiting for a nurse or my brother to arrive; whomever got their first.

It felt like I sat there for hours waiting when there was a knock on the door. "Ms. Night?" "Come in, please come in." "Ha someone seems anxious to leave." "You have no idea. I'm not much of a fan of being in hospitals." I heard her start pressing buttons, turning machines off. "That's understandable. The less someone's in here the better." "Mmhmm." I flinched when she pulled the IV out. "Any word on my brother?" "Yes, he's up at the front desk finishing up some paperwork." "Great. I don't suppose he gave you a change of clothes did he? I don't really want to go home in an evening gown, let alone a dirty one." "I'm assuming that's what the bag in the chair is." "Yay for big brothers thinking ahead." "Ha."

Once the nurse was done unhooking me she helped me into the bathroom so I could dress. Exiting the bathroom I was met with my brother hugging me. "Mornin sis, let's get you out of here." "Best idea I've heard all day." Helping me into a wheelchair we were ready to go when the nurse called out to us. "Ms. Night! Don't you want your flower? They're quite pretty." "Oh sure, thank you." "Careful, don't want you to drop one of them." "What do you mean? I only had one thing of flowers." "There were two in your room while I was in there. Perhaps someone had them delivered? Anyway, take an easy and hopefully we won't be seeing you back here anytime soon." I nodded stuck in my thoughts. "Let's go sis; keep a hold of your plants."

Jason got us ready to go, downstairs, and into the car in no time. The car jerking forward broke me out of my haze. "Jason you didn't bring me flowers yesterday did you? Before I woke up?" "Sure didn't, and they weren't there last night when Chris and I rejoined you." "What kind of flowers are they?" "The surprise ones are forget me nots and some other weird flower; they all look half dead though." "Is it belladonna?" "Huh ya know what maybe, kinda hard to tell with the state they're in." I immediately started searching through the flowers looking for a card or some sort of other clue, but nothing was there. 'Hmm even without a card I still have a pretty good feeling I know who sent these.'

We drove home in silence, both deep in our own thoughts. When we got home it stayed pretty much the same. We got some food and vegged out until we went to bed.

I lie there in bed drowning in my thoughts. 'Tomorrow is going to be a big day, potentially life changing.' I exhaled a breath I'd been holding. 'Hope this goes well.' Eventually I felt myself drift off.

(Wednesday.)

"Bells time to wake up!" I rolled over pulling my blanket over my head. "Go away!" "Nope, rise and shine buttercup. Today is a big day." At that I opened my eyes and smiled. 'Right, today IS a big day. Better get ready.' "I'm up!" I quickly got out of bed and began a typical morning routine; shower, breakfast, and dressing. As soon as I finished my ritual I met Chris in the living room. "Are we running late yet?" "No way, we have plenty of time. Jason should be here soon to drive us over." I nodded and plopped down on the couch. Chris reached over to poke me in the side. "Ya nervous?" "Kind of but not really at the same time. I'm anxious to see how this pans out, but half my brain is telling me not to get my hopes up." "Yeah, well I'll get my hopes up enough for the both of us."

Soon enough Jason was knocking on the front door and we were off to Gotham Regional. I swear the ride there was the longest car ride of my entire life. Once we parked and headed inside, the nerves Chris had asked me about were started to make an appearance at a rapid rate. 'I feel like I'm gonna start burping butterflies, ugh.' "Bell, do you know where we are supposed to be going?" "Heh of course not. Just ask a person at the first desk we come to." Jason grabbed my hand and tugged me along. After few minutes of wandering around we found a potential nurse station and inquired as to where I was actually supposed to be to start this new adventure.

We knew we'd made it to the right spot when someone asked us for id. "I feel so special getting my id checked in a hospital." "Shut it Chris." "It's just a precaution. There are a limited number of people expected for today's meeting. You two gentlemen will have to wait out here with everyone else's guests. Ms. Night if you'll come with me I'll introduce you to the doctors that are behind this new procedure." I nodded and let him grab my arm to guide me to the next room.

Once we reached the next destination I was led to a chair and patiently waited for the doctors to arrive. After a few minutes the man that brought me into the room passed out packets to all of us; thankfully they were in braille. As soon as everyone received their packets multiple pairs of footsteps sounded from the opposite side of the room. "Hello everyone I'm Dr. Sanders and this is Dr. Powell. We'd like to welcome you all, and thank everyone for their willingness in this new scientific discovery. We've been doing research for this new surgery for the last seven years and are thrilled to continue human trials." At this point Dr. Powell took over. "Now all of you here have varying degrees of blindness, all the way from full blindness to partial blindness in one eye. The surgery we will be conducting is not a guarantee that you will regain your sight." Someone sitting near me spoke up voicing thoughts that must've been going through most people's minds. "Why weren't we informed of this prior? I was told before even coming here that the previous trials were successful." "That is correct, for our first trial." All around me people started shouting. 'Guess they weren't as informed as I was. Thank you Mr. Wayne.' "Please calm down! While this is only our second trial, we hope to be just as successful as before. That being said we must offer a disclaimer of sorts. We truly hope that all of you will regain your full sight, but the reality is that it might not happen. The reason for such a broad range of volunteers is for us to see how well the surgery takes to different extremes. Our first round of volunteers were not suffering from cases as extreme as a lot of you are, and it's possible there were such high success rates because of that."

After that I zoned out and quickly went over the papers in my hand turning my attention back to the doctors every now and then. Once the general meeting was finished everyone was pulled one by one to a separate room for a private conversation. I assumed it was to go over each person's particular condition, and the expectations vs. reality of the surgery. Soon enough it was my name being called and I was ushered to another room.

"Hello, Ms. Night correct?" I nodded. "Yes, and who am I speaking with?" "I'm Dr. Sanders." "Great, now that we have that out of the way, do you mind explaining just what exactly this little one on one conversation is for? I figured after our big meeting we'd just be setting dates." "Well yes for some that is the case." "What do you mean some?" "Unfortunately not everyone that joined us today will be able to participate in the trials." "That's awful! Why even have all of them here?" "We weren't sure who would be making the final list until we met with everyone." "And so what about me?" "We won't be able do the surgery for you at this time." "Why not? It's not as if I have anything to lose, and any results would be positive." "Yes if you were to gain any modicum of sight back." "Isn't that what this is for? To see what kind of progress different people achieve? Or is this just some sick joke." "Ms. Night this procedure is no joke. In addition to meeting certain requirements there is a fee for each volunteer, and we assumed with how you came to be here that payment would be an issue." "Fee? What fee? Mr. Wayne said there was nothing to pay for, I only needed to show up." "That isn't enough." "He said that everything was taken care of." "Well as much as we truly appreciate all that Mr. Wayne has done for this department and its research, he isn't fully aware of just how much this all of this has cost us. We can't afford to be doing all these procedures for free." "How much is the fee? Surely it can't be that much since its still being considered a clinical trial." "The volunteers that are continuing through to the surgery are each paying thirty thousand dollars." "Thirty grand?! Are you nuts?" "This is standard for each patient. It equals fifteen thousand per eye, and some patients are starting there first. Would you be able to do even that?" "Maybe in a few years, but not now. Did Mr. Wayne not give you anything for me? This has to be some sort of joke." "I'm sure Mr. Wayne had your best interest at heart. That being said, he doesn't completely understand what's going on here and what it takes to keep this program going." "It shouldn't matter! All you should have to do is make a phone call and get this cleared up. There is no reason to be having this discussion." "You're absolutely right. Security!" As soon as he spoke the door behind me opened. I jerked in my chair. "What?!" "Please escort Ms. Night and her friends out of the building, and make sure they're banned from this wing of the hospital." "Yes Dr. Sanders."

I was abruptly pulled from the chair by my arm. I stumbled trying to keep up with the guard. I turned my head back towards the Dr. "You bastard, you can't do this." "I'm sorry for the hopeless news Ms. Night. I wish you the best of luck." I thought my jaw would shatter with how hard I was clenching my teeth. "Fuck you!" I let out a small yelp when I was harshly jerked away. "Miss you need to calm down and exit quietly." "Or what? I already had the worst possible thing happen to me while here." "Hardly, keep up your volume and you'll be quite forcefully removed." I rolled my eyes. "Hate to point out the obvious but that's what's currently happening." His grip tightened and I bit my tongue.

As soon as I heard my brother's voice the tears started. "Bell? What happened? What's wrong?!" "Bells?!" "I…" "You all are to leave immediately." "Who the hell are you, and why are you dragging my sister?" "As I said before, the three of you must leave immediately. If not of your own volition we will have to do it by force." I reached out and felt Jason and Chris each grab a hand. "Let's just go home, I'll explain there." "Alright." Jason took the lead and I could feel the security guard's gaze on my back with each step we took.

It felt like hours passed before we finally arrived back home. I sat there on the couch waiting for someone to break the silence but I couldn't find the will to do so myself. I felt someone put their hand on my back. "Alright Bell, what happened?" I leaned over and put my head on Jason's shoulder and told them of my hope shattering conversation.

After repeating the conversation I could almost taste the anger coming off my brother and friend. "The club is never doing anything for Bruce Wayne again." "I'm so sorry sis. I wish I could do something to fix this." I shrugged my shoulders. "Yeah well you can't." I stood up and stretched. "I'm going to go take a nap. Don't feel obligated to stay big bro, I'll be fine." "Bell…" "I'm serious, go home and relax. I'll talk to you later." I reached down to give him and Chris each a hug before heading to my room. I could hear them whispering even from the living room.

Sighing I lifted my covers and dove under. "I just want this day to go away, forget everything."

(Saturday)

"Bells come on you have to get ready." "I don't know how many times I'm going to have to tell you, but I'd love this to be the last time. I'm not going to work." "You HAVE to Bells. If you don't come into work Lisa is going to suspend you. Her niceties only last for so long. She's been fairly understanding, but you are our main singer." "Main yes but not the only one." "Clara only sings to give you a break or if you're sick. She's almost never does a full set. Last night not going to shit was a complete fluke, and Lisa isn't going to want to have Clara go on again." "It's good to give someone else the spotlight every once in a while." "You're being immature. You don't even acknowledge when Jason's here!" I nearly growled when I launched the remote in Chris' direction. "You're not the one that had the one thing they've only been able to DREAM of dangled in front of their face only for it to be ripped away! Neither one of you can understand that. So excuse ME if I don't feel like going out to parade myself on a stage in front of a bunch of drunken perverts. I think I'll accept the suspension as a vacation." "Fine! Do whatever you want, you always do anyway. Just remember we have bills to pay and they aren't as forgiving as Lisa." Chris didn't even give me time to respond before storming out the front door.

(Chris' POV)

I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration while making my way to the car. "Dammit Bells! Lisa's gonna kill me when I show up without you." I got in the car and started heading to work. When I pulled into the parking lot I picked up my phone and made a call. "Jason?" "Chris? What's wrong, is Bell okay?" "She's being a giant brat! I hate to act like a nark and go to you but I think she needs a serious intervention." "She's going through a hard time." "I know that and I want to help, you know I do but she's gotta start pulling herself together. She refused to go to work again even though she's being threatened with a suspension." "Alright I'll figure something out, you just go to work and do what you can there. We'll get this fixed." "Man I hope so, bye." "Bye Chris, thanks for keeping me posted."

(Jason's POV)

I slammed my phone down on the counter. "Hey man, what's wrong?" "My sister." "Is she alright?" "Yes and no. I gotta take a quick break. Do you think you can handle it down here for a bit?" "Yeah, no problem; It's not too bad out here just hurry back." "Believe me I'll do my best." I clapped my coworker on the back and headed upstairs. Reaching the top I was met with a human shaped wall. "What seems to be the problem?" "I need to see the boss." "That's not gonna happen." "It's an emergency." "That's what floor managers are for." I grabbed the wall by his shirt, pulling him closer. "Listen up goon. The information I have is important and our boss is most definitely going to want to hear it." "Hey, what's going on?" "Seems one of the bartenders forgot his place." Another shadow stepped up revealing a familiar face. "Jason?" "Frost." Frost pulled the hulking wall out of my way. "This is Jason Night." "Night? As in?" "Exactly." The goon looked my way. "Hey sorry man I…" I waved him off giving my attention to Frost. "Whatever." "Come on I'll take you to him." "Thanks." "Is Bell alright?" "No, but hopefully she will be soon." He nodded. I watched as Frost delivered a hard knock to the door in front of us. "What?!" I grimaced slightly and took a step back when he opened the door. "Sir Jason is here to speak with you." "Jason who?" "Bell's brother." I nearly turned green with the curiosity leaking from his voice. "Oh? Hahahahaaa well, let him in."

Frost patted my shoulder as I moved past him to enter the office. "Good luck." I nodded "Thanks man."

Moving further in I was greeted with a horrifying smile etched across the Joker's face as he leaned forward over his desk. "Well, well, well, what's brings you to this particular part of the club." "I need to talk to you about my sister." "Really? What about her?" "She needs your help." "Why bother? There'd be nothing in it for me." 'Bell is gonna kill me.' "Because she still has feelings for you." I could see his eyes darken as his grin slid away. "So." "You could get her back, all you'd have to do is go see her." "Why should I go see her? Is little Bellsy down in the dumps?" "Something bad happened and nothing I or her best friend do seems to help." "Does she know you're here?" "No way." "Where is she?" "Home, she hasn't left in days. She refuses to even go to work." At that his eyebrow raised in question. "You've said what you needed to, now leave." "Will you help her?" "Who knows, now leave." I didn't wait around testing my luck. Making a quick exit I headed back downstairs.

(Joker POV)

I looked up to see Frost taking the place of Jason Night. "Mind me asking what all that was about boss?" I rolled my shoulder and smiled, tilting my head back. "Seems like it's time to pay Bellsy a little visit. She's a bit down and in need of a clown."
