Sorry that the update was a bit late.
Okay. so for this chap it's a bit glum. Amy has a tough time dealing with things.
I feel bad for putting her through this, but I wanted to. It will get happier probably in 2-4 chaps. For now, it's in a bit of a somber mood.
Some things I can relate to in it.
Anyway, I hope you like it. I redid this several times, because all the other ones I did turned out lousy. This one is also a pretty brief chap.
(3rd person POV)
The pink hedgehog was up and ready on a Monday. Four days until the Friday dance. She was excited to go. She didn't have to work Saturday, so that was great also. It was a winter themed dance. Amy heard that they were going to add hot chocolate, candy canes, and cookies to the menu, since it's a special dance.
She applied eyeliner to her right eye, as she already did for her left eye. Mascara was the last thing she used for makeup. She was never in the mood to deck the halls with her makeup. She wanted to look plain. But didn't she already? That's what she thought anyway. She knew she wasn't special.
Her clothes consisted of dark jeans, a chunky sweater; which was piled with a pine green scarf. Her shoes were her worn out Converse. Amy thought her shoes were a metaphor of her, because she was always tired. She snatched her bag, heading downstairs.
Her parents were downstairs, doing their boring political chats. I didn't even want to talk to them. This weekend, I tried to convince them to let me quit Holiday, they said I can't quit. They say that being in a job now will help me later in life and prevent me from 'being lazy'. Well, why doesn't Jasmine have a damn job then? Amy couldn't stand how her sister gets treated fairly; when it was softball season for her and track for Amy, Amy noticed that they went to support Jasmine at all her games, and they never once did they attend any of Amy's meets. Ever since Amy mentioned how she wanted to quit, her parents have been treating her negatively once again.
"Hi." Amy greeted stiffly.
Her parents gave her a stern expression. Her father glared at her, while her mom didn't even look her in the eye. Amy felt a mix of betrayal and animosity from them.
"You know, giving me the silent treatment isn't going to solve a damn thing." Amy tried her best to control her anger.
"Don't swear." Her mother replied calmly.
"Well when I say hi, don't ignore me!" Amy slams the door, as she previously took her coat and keys.
Amy couldn't take it anymore. She couldn't handle on how her parents were treating her. How could they not understand? Haven't they been teens before? Amy was sure they skipped being that.
Once she arrived to school, she sat at her usual spot. Blaze was there with Silver. They were unusually quiet. Blaze had her headphones in, as she was sketching something on paper. Silver seemed a little off beat. He was tapping his pen on the table.
Amy didn't greet them. She continued to fume frustration towards her parents. As she did that, Cream, Maria, and Rouge arrived. They were happy, laughing, and smiling when they sat down. They had a chirpy aura surrounding them. It pissed Amy off immensely.
They chatted about the dance, which was friday.
There was an early release on wednesday; everyone gets out of school by one instead of usual time (three). The three were talking about their plans. Maria didn't have to attend dance class that day, and they instead changed it to thursday. Same would be for others who were in it too. Rouge didn't have gymnastics practice because of the release.
That being said, they discussed plans they had made for it. Rouge, Maria, and Cream were all going to the mall after school to shop for a dress for the dance. Amy felt a bit sad that she had to work that day. It bothered her more that she had not gotten invited to go with. Usually they would ask if Amy wanted to tag along.
The bell rung twenty minutes later. Amy was off to class. Cream used to tag along with her (considering they had first hour together), but now she walked with Mina Mongoose to class. Amy didn't mind Mina, but still. Amy missed talking to Cream.
At least we still sit by each other in class.
Second hour went by in a blur, along with third and fourth.
Lunch was a bit strange.
It was quieter. Sonic strangely, wasn't there. Funny thing is, she saw him this morning. Amy scanned her eyes around the cafeteria, but the blue hedgehog was no where to be found.
There was something with Knuckles and Rouge that Amy thought she wasn't aware about. They were whispering and laughing the whole time. Every time someone would ask why they were laughing, they wouldn't tell them.
Marine was mute, along with Tails, Shadow, Tikal, Espio, Blaze, but especially Silver. The silver hedgehog didn't say a single word. He didn't sit by Blaze like he usually would. That to Amy alone was off key. Something happened friday, she assumed. Amy was used to Espio, Tikal, and Shadow to not say much, but not Blaze and Silver.
Only few that actually had a full out conversation that sat here were Charmy, Maria, and Cream. They were hysterically laughing about something that Amy had no idea about.
This week is going to be long.
It was a bit short. I'll admit that.
The next one will be a LOT longer, so that'll even things out hopefully.
