The time that passed in the half destroyed conference room did so in a blur. The voices echoed and their speakers all too apparent. Strapped to the chair at the far end of the table, Red watched as two of the four remaining Avengers, Steve and Tony bickered at one another from across the room. She didn't care to listen to what they were saying for she already knew, Fury wanted something to be done about Nile's murderer and he wanted to find Loki, along with the Tesseract. The slight thought awful deed caused Red to shiver violently, she kept her head hung limp and eyes squeezed shut as Fury entered the room.

"Stark, what do you know about the Tesseract's location?" ignoring Red for the time being, Fury questioned the billionaire sternly. He held a narrow gaze on both men before pulling a device out of the inner pocket of his trench coat.

"Not a clue, now that Banners' gone it will be even harder to locate it, also you know, considering our lab got reconstructed." Tony dug into his own pockets and pulled out the leftover blueberries. "Want one?" Trying to decrease the tension Tony joyfully offered to share, but the offer was answered by an intimidating look by Fury's one eye.

"Where ever it is, we have to assume Loki is heading there as well." Steve crossed his arms and glanced back at Red quickly. "Maybe she knows something." not meaning to let anyone here, Steve's notion was attentively echoed by Fury.

"Good point Rodgers, if she does know something, I know how we can get it out of her." Fury looked down on the device in his hands and then handed it slyly to Tony, "but first, sees what you can find out from this." Turning to Steve, the Director noticed that the captain's blue eyes were fixed on Red's light figure, and surprisingly he shrugged off the distraction and turned back to Tony.

"Her Phone? Wouldn't you have gotten something already?" Puzzled, Tony played around with the phone until a dark screen appeared with various codes.

Fury sighed heavily before answering Tony's question, "She has some sort of security firewall on it and my team can't seem to hack it." Feeling ashamed, the director re-crossed his arms and looked back at Steve, who seemed to refocus on the situation.

"And what will you do with her until you find Loki; you can't possibly hold her accountable for what happened with Nile." Shocked by Steve's comment, Tony looked up from the phone and then glanced at Fury who looked anything but lenient.

"To hell I can't." Fury's raging voice bypassed Steve as he quickly walked over towards where Red was being held. Standing off to the side slightly, Fury took the woman's chin in hand and pulled her face up until he was looking directly in to her bloodshot eyes. "Do you see this Captain? My team has confirmed that the blood taken off of her face is a match to agent Reynolds, now if that isn't enough for you I can show you the finger prints if you would like."

Red kept her eyes blank; her face remained emotionless as Fury aggressively released her. Feeling that all the eyes were on her, Red lifted her head slightly and met with Steve's concerned soldier expression. She inhaled deeply and hoped that he wouldn't fight Fury for her, but to her dismay, Steve spoke up again in her defense while Tony leaned against the table and pretended to be occupied with her phone.

"She may have pulled the trigger and held the gun Fury, but that doesn't make her the killer." Steve took a step towards Fury and Red. The anger built the closer he got to them, for what reason he wasn't sure but perhaps it was a sense of injustice that Red would receive for something she had no control over.

"And how do you justify that Rodgers, from what I see she intentionally killed one of my best agents." Leaving Red's side, Fury met Steve face to face with a small smile on his lips. He seemed pleased with the overpowering emotions and acted although he was having fun with it.

"I saw it in her eyes, what was behind them was completely controlled by Loki, if you kill…" Steve breath caught as he heard a faint voice coming from Reds direction. Taking a step back he and Fury turned their attention to the bowing woman.

"Steve, I would like to speak to the Director alone." Red slowly looked up at the two men in front of her. Steve looked sharply at Fury, the trotted over to her. As the Captain knelt down Red could hear the stretching of his tight suit and restrained herself from looking at anything but his face.

"Red I know that wasn't you. Please let me help you prove that." Steve suddenly found himself uneasy when Red allowed herself to face him. With Nile's blood still speckled over her pale face, Steve hoped for some reminisce of the green hue to still be hidden in Red's eyes, but as he searched them, all he could see was grey and Red mixed into one.

"They need to know the truth." As she spoke, a strange sensation caught in the back of Red's throat causing her to gasp for a breath. Within the midst of her breathing attack, Red noticed Steve make a quick exchange of looks with Tony, who place the phone on the table beside him and stood.

Without another word Steve stood and quickly brushed past Fury and met Tony by the door, looking over his shoulder nervously before exiting the room.

a"You worried there cap?" Tony glance at Steve as they walked through the hallway. They were heading to the room that Loki had been kept in, the only place they could talk freely among themselves.

As the two of them approached the former containment room Steve pondered over the question himself. biting his lower lip he answered his teammate half mindedly, "Should i be? after all she has done…" Steve allowed his voice to trail off into the room as he felt an overwhelming sense of nausea in his stomach. After Tony opened the heavy doors, Steve decided to leave the rest of his thoughts to himself.

Tony glanced at Steve in response to his silence. taking the lead into the now empty room, Tony walked over to the edge of the railing where the cell used to be. "Well one things for sure, you don't need to worry about what Fury is going to say." leaning slightly over the edge of the railing, Tony reached down into one of his pants pockets and pulled out another tablet looking devise.

"What do you mean by that Stark?" giving Tony a cold stare, Steve slowly walked to meet the billionaire at the former site of the cell, trying not to search the cold floors for any blood that may still be stained on them.

"You see, while you were having your little blow-out with Fury, I turned Red's little security system into a vocalized transmitter." Feeling proud of himself, Tony smiled at Steve who leaned against the railing next to him. His blank stare inquiring to Tony that he was immensely confused with the technology. "Meaning everything that those two say will be relayed back to this little thing." toying with the devise in his hands, Tony began to press various keys when muffled voiced began to appear.

"Tony…this isn't right." Folding his hands over the rail, Steve pressed his thumbs into his forehead and felt the guilt begin to rise in his chest. He looked over the edge at the passing landscapes 50,000 feet below and fell into a deep thought.

"I don't get what you are so worried about Cap, I mean it's not like we care what happens with her right?" trying hard not to sound cocky, Tony realized he had said something that left Steve speechless, he had his eyes shut tightly and was breathing heavily which indicated to Tony that something was up. "So you do care about her."

Steve bit his lip and stayed silent. Thankfully the strong voices that emanated from Tony's devise interrupted the uncomfortable conversation between the two Avengers.

*Inside the conference room*

"So, I see you and Captain Rodgers are becoming quite acquainted with one another." Director Fury walked back to the other end of the table and sat down comfortably. Interlacing his hands, the Director focused on Red's facial expressions, that seemed to change from the depressed and accused murderer to a seductive and intelligent manipulator.

"Captain Rodgers is a man out of time Fury, and an incredibly naïve one if that." Red tapped her nails against the metal chair. Still having Nile's dying breath in the back of her mind mad it hard to appear at ease, let alone being forced to make up lies about Steve.

"So you admit to speaking with him?" intrigued, Fury leaned in and placed his chin in his hands. Knowing he had to choose his words carefully, he figured the topic of death would have to wait until a later time.

Red inhaled deeply, the clogging in her chest made the breath sound bronchial with her exhale which parted out of her curled smile. "If you want to be correct then you should know that you trusted pet came to me." Red shifted uncomfortably as she sensually.

As if a memory had triggered in his mind, Fury stood abruptly and held challenging gaze. "Speaking about pets, where is that feline you take great pleasure in keeping, surly she won't be able to save you this time." Fury trailed his fingers over the table but when he made contact with Red phone he stopped. Taking the devise in his hands he spoke clearly into the speaker as if he was talking directly to Tony and Steve."Stark, Rodgers, you better think of a damn well excuse before you come back here in the next five minutes."

Red stared blankly at the floor after she uncrossed her toned legs. With so many thought already imbedded into her mind, the one thing she hoped she wouldn't have to worried about was staring her right in the face. Ghost was the only thing keeping her sane throughout her years and if Fury had done something to harm her, it would be another reason to be on her hit list.

"How does that make you feel Red, knowing that all you had was taken away, and the one person who had any glimmer of hope in you, just listened to what you just said." Dropping the phone back on the table, Fury walked up to where Red was sitting and placed both hands on the arms of the chair.

Red looked distantly at Fury, the reform emptiness in her hazy eyes became distracted as Steve and Tony reentered the conference room. Steve had a grey expression on his normally heroic face, and I dreariness in his eyes. As Steve looked up to meet Red's gaze she pulled away regained focus on Fury. "Let's get to the point Fury. I'm tired of playing these games with you."

"Your right Red. So I have one question for you, did you shoot Nile Reynolds?" Fury's harsh stare was answered by a devilish smile, placing his hands over Red's wrists Fury allowed his anger to reach it's boiling point.. "You think this is a joke?! Because of you there is a god on the loose with the intention of destroying everything! And you sit here in front of my laughing?" pressing harder on Red's wrists, Fury saw the changing color in her eyes and the pattern of her veins become apparent.

"I held the gun and I pulled the trigger, but I did not kill agent Reynolds. But lucky for you I am in a giving mood, and will offer you the location in which Loki is heading…for a price that is." Red narrowed her brows as she watched Fury's reaction. He pushed off of her wrists and ushered over to his team, dumbfounded and confused.

"You know Fury it does make sense, if Loki could control Barton then what's holding his back from taking over Red." Tony scuffed his scruffy facial hair and leaned on the table. " if we have any chance of finding Loki it will be through her." Tony crossed his arms over his chest and directed his attention to Steve.

"Stark, even if she does give us his location what is stopping her from turning on us." Steve paused and met with Red's eyes briefly. "You heard how she spoke of Shield; there is no guarantee that we will be safe from her."

"You are right Captain, you can't trust me and you never will be able to." Catching the attention of all three men, Red played her seductive roll and licked her ruby red lips, "but you can trust my rage. and trust how I always get what I want."

Steve exchanged looks with his comrades for approval. Fury gave him a look as if to day "it's your call". Nodding Steve walked cautiously to Red keeping in mind that she would be extremely irresistible to look at, even though she had blood spilled on her face. Kneeling down to Red's eye level, Steve placed a rough hand on her knee and spoke with an uncommon aggression in his voice. "And what is it that you want?"

Red took a long breath as she curled her fingers into a fist, the tight cracking and stretching leather only adding to the manipulative effect that had taken over her. Caressing her tongue over her sharpened K9, Red could feel the strange lust build inside the soldier as she spoke, "I want to drain Loki of every ounce of blood, then burn his deceptive body for what he has done to me."
