It was just like any other Glee rehersal, they all sat in their respective seats and talked with one another waiting for Mr. Shue to come in and discuss what it was they were to be doing for todays assignment or whether or not it would be a week long assignment. Like usual, their teacher was a little late but never too late that would actually ruin their class time. When he walked in the door, he went to the white board and wrote out the word Groups. Nothing had to be said after seeing the word written up for the class to see. It was pretty obvious to them all that they would be doing a group number for their assignments. The only thing that they didn't know what whether or not it was going to be boy's verses girl's or it they finally got to choose their groups this time around.

The second that Mr. Shue turned around he saw Tina's hand up with a smile on her face. "Yes, Tina."

"Do we get to choose our groups?" She asked while bringing her hand back down to rest it in Mike's hand.

"No, I'm afraid not. I've already chosen your groups." He told them all as they groaned a bit. "But, I twisted things up a bit this year. We will have four groups of three each. One of just girls, One of just guys and the other two will be a mixture." It was Finn's hand that shot up this time for a question. "What is it, Finn?"

"Um, I know I'm not the smartest guy in the room-"

"That is for 'damn' sure." Santana interrupted with a smile on her face before being nudged in the ribs by Rachel's elbow. "Ow! What the hell, Tiny. I was agreeing with him for once."

The girl just rolled her eyes the looked away back at Mr. Shue who sighed before returning his gaze on the taller boy. "Go ahead, Finn."

"Uh...Well, I was just wondering how this is going to work. I meant the girls kinda out number us guys. One team will be short."

At that realization, everyone kinda perked up wondering what that was going to mean for that one group who was going to be left as a two some, which meant...

"A Duet!" Rachel gasped, turning in her seat to Santana. "Another duet, for us. This is going to be so much fun!"

The latina could onle smile at her girlfriends enthusiasm about doing another duet, Santana was just as excited but she was holding it in. She lifted up her hand and gently rubbed the smaller girl's shoulder before they both turned to look at Mr. Shue who went on to inform Rachel that there was going to be no duet in this assignment because it was going to be strictly a group number which each group had three members. It caused Rachel to slump a bit in her chair and easily pulled into the taller girl's embrace when she tried to comfort her.

It was then that they were informed that they had a new member joining the New Directions. That got everyone's attention. They were all a bit bewildered at this turn of events, they didn't remember anyone coming up to audition this year like in previous ones. "Please, help me welcome the newest member..."

He didn't even get the chance to really announce the new kid because a shriek erupted from one of the original members when they saw the newest addition walk into the choir room. It was non other than Blaine from the warblers. Kurt was out of his chair and in the other boy's arms in less the two seconds. They both embraced each other before being asked to take their seats so they could discuss the groups a bit more.

"Alright. Now, I've already taken it upon myself to assign group for all of you." Mr. Shue explained as he picked up the clip board that was sitting on the piano, checking over the paper before reading off what he wrote. "Okay. For the all boys team, we have: Finn, Puck and Blaine."

"I'm sorry?" Kurt questioned, looking a bit confused. The teen looked a bit upset, it was obvious that he wanted to be teamed up with his boyfriend. "Why not pair Blaine and I together. Our voices mesh well together."

"Kurt, it's okay." Blaine assured.

Mr. Shue was pleased that Blaine was trying to help him but the look on Kurt's face suggested that he was going to fight a little more at changing the groups. "Kurt the assigned groups are final. You'll get the chance to sing with him in the future." He told him before glancing back down at the sheet.

"Alright. Moving on. For the all girl's team. They are: Rachel, Santana and Quinn."

"Whoa! Uh-uh. No me gusta!" Santana yelled, shaking her head. "No way! There is no way in hell."

"San, please..." Rachel pleaded softly, trying to calm her girlfriend by placing a hand on the girl's arm.

"No! We are not working with her!" Santana argued as she looked at the girl beside her.

"Enough!" Mr. Shue shouted. "There will be no more discussion over these groups. They are final. So, just deal with it."

Santana huffed while rolling her eyes in annoyance before folding her arms across her chest as she looked away from the man. Waiting for him to finish up the other groups. It turned out that Artie, Tina and Mike were paired together which left Brittany, Merecedes and Kurt together.

The only ones to remain inside the choir room was Rachel, Santana and Quinn. Much to Santana's dismay. She was had stayed behind because her girlfriend being slow at gathering up her things which allowed the room to clear but the latina had a feeling that they were hanging back on purpose so that they could talk with Quinn. And she had been right because the small girl made no attempt to leave with her, she all but stopped infront of the blonde girl who seemed to know that she was to stay behind to talk with both of them.

Santana sighed and made her way up to Rachel, wrapping her arm around the girl's waist as she stared down the girl. The diva turned her head to look up at her girlfriend the second she felt an arm wrap around her, groaning a bit when seeing the scowl. "Santana...please be nice. We are teammates and we have to work together to make sure we have the best number."

"Whatever." Santana shook her head. "Let's just hurry this up."

Rachel gave a nod and took a step towards Quinn only to be stopped and pulled back.

"Possessive much?" Quinn glared.

"Only around you, Stretch Mark."

"It's fine." Rachel assured the blonde before untangling herself from her girlfriend as she moved to turn and face both of them. "We need to set up a schedule between the three of us so that we can pick songs and practice."

"My schedule is wide open." Quinn quickly input her answer.

"That's good." Rachel smiled looking at her Santana. "We can all meet up at my house and we can-"

"No." Santana shook her head.

"Excuse me?"

"She's not getting in your room Rachel."

Rachel licked her bottom lip slowly, she was getting a bit irritated with Santana and her over protective ways. She understands that her girlfriend feels threatened by Quinn because of what happened in the auditorium and the song during Glee but she needed her to understand that she wasn't going anywhere. That she wanted to be with her and Quinn really wasn't a threat. Grabbing the girl's arm and pulling her away from the blonde so that they could speak quietly to themselves.

"Santana. This really needs to stop." The diva cautioned her. "I am not going to leave you for Quinn. So, please...trust me."

"I do trust you, Rachel." Santana caved. "It's her that I don't trust. And I don't want her in your room."

"She's not going to get in my room, Santana." Rachel argued. "We are going to work in my family's basement. Let's try to get through this in a more civil manner. Rather than how we've started out. Please? For me?"

The latina looked at the small girl before turning to look at Quinn who was staring at them intently, waiting for them to hurry up and talk to them. Sighing before returning her gaze to Rachel and nodded her head. "Alright. I'll try and not let her get to me but I'm only doing this for you, Tiny."

"I know." She smiled.

"Tell me I get permission to bitch slap her the moment she crosses the line?"

The smaller girl shook her head before grabbing her hand and pulling her back over to the blonde who waited as paitently as she could so that they could discuss when they would be meeting up.

It was no secret that Santana wasn't really looking forwards to spending time with Quinn and for the first time she was actually dreading going over to her girlfriends house. She loved going over their so that they could spend quality time together but now she had to spend time with the girl she loved and the girl whom she hates with her entire being. She had to keep reminding herself that they just had to look through a bunch a songs, narrow it down before picking out one that they all could agree upon before they start practicing. Once they get it all done and over with the sooner they could ditch the blonde.

The three girls' had been sitting on the couch for a few hours in the basement while they went over song after song after song that they were pulling up on the computer screen. They had already had a few maybe's, a lot of no's, and no yes's. The longer they sat there the more sexually frustrated Santana was getting because sitting next to her was Rachel and her skirt had rode far enough up that it left her entire thigh was exposed. Santana assumed it was on purpose because the leg on Quinn's side was completely covered up. Like it should be but seeing that the leg on her side was exposed, it was getting harder for her to focus on the task at hand.

"What about the Spice Girls?" Quinn suddenly piped up, snapping Santana out of her inappropiate thoughts.

"The Spice Girls?" Santana questioned as she looked past Rachel to the other girl.

"Why not? They had some good music. Don't pretend that you didn't have like all their CD's and that you never sang along to their music."

"I'm not denying anything. I was just surprised you brought them up." Santana stated before looking to Rachel who had been quiet during the exchange. "What's on your mind, Short Stuff?"

The new nickname caused Rachel to smile and blush a bit before looking away from the computer screen to look between the two. "I actually have to agree with Quinn on this one. A Spice Girl's song would definately be different. No one would expect us to do it. And I believe I have the perfect song choice for us. But you both have to keep an open mind."

"Which song are you thinking about?" Quinn asked as she moved closer to Rachel, enough that their thighs were pressed together as she leaned over to look at the screen.

Seeing the movement, Santana took in a deep breath trying to calm herself down and just go with finding out what song but she was going to be watching the blonde more closely now, that was for sure. When Rachel pointed out the song the two girls sitting on either side of Rachel looked at each other before looking at the diva. "That's the song you want 'us', to sing? For realz?"

"Yeah. Why not?"

"Can we even pull that off?" Quinn asked.

"Yes. We most certainly can. We just need to do a little acting." Rachel answered. "Well, you two more than me."

A few days had gone by and the three worked well together, considering that both Quinn and Santana had relapses throughout the days. They both wanted the same exact thing and that was Rachel Berry. It was becoming a long distance race as they were constantly fighting for her attention and affection. But considering that Santana was the one that was lucky enough to call the small girl her girlfriend which meant that she was slightly ahead of the blonde.

It was the day of their performance and the latina was really hoping that it was going to be the last time that they would have to spend time with Quinn Fabray, cause to be honest she was sick and tired of the girl and all she wanted to do was actually spend some time alone with Rachel. It wasn't that much to ask for? Right? I mean, Santana put up with both girls on the and the Diva's rants about not practicing enough and Quinn's lousy attempts to get closer to her girlfriend, so to say that she was ready to just have Rachel to herself was the statement of a lifetime.

Rachel and Santana sat towards the back, their chairs close together as they seemed wrapped up in their own world while Quinn sat in the front row besides Puck, her eyes never leaving the brunette who lifted her legs up to rest ontop of Santana's lap. The smile on the latina's lips as she placed her hands ontop of the girls. Just seeing that made Quinn look away, unable to watch the two be cute together cause even though she hadn't come out to the school as a lesbian and she hadn't been with a girl, she couldn't help but want Rachel. She didn't know why but she did. Out of all the girls she could crush on, why did it have to be Santana's girlfriend?

It was a fun day in Glee as each group performed their songs. It was interesting to see who picked what song and how they divided up the song so each person could have a solo as well as the dance moves that they all practiced. One thing that the three girl's noticed right away was that each group had picked a upbeat song, leaving them with the only ballad type song. It gave them a bit of an edge seeing they were the only one to go this route and it was Rachel who seem the most excited.

When the time had come for the girls to get up and sing the song they had chose, they quickly moved from their chairs and took their places. Letting Rachel stand in the center while Santana was on her right side and Quinn on her left. As the music started up, the girls slowly began to sway in unison while Rachel took a step forwards before taking her cue to start the song.

"The time is now or never
to fit the missing piece,
To take this song together,
You make me feel complete
We fall into the future,
And through the looking glass
The light shines over our heads
And so it comes to pass."

Rachel then moved back to fall in line with the other girls before Santana took a step forwards to take her turn to sing her solo in the song after her girlfriend.

"To go beyond the surface,
To reach into your soul,
This love is not demanding,
My heart has told me so
I hold onto my hero
with faith enough to find,
The power to imagine
will keep this love alive."

Santana had kep most of her focus on their friends who were sitting there watching and swaying along to the music before the latina turned her head to lock eyes with Rachel, giving her a smile before stepping back to stand in line. Just after she was able to stand beside her girlfriend all three of them sang the chorus.

"Lets make the headlines loud and true,
I wanna tell the world I'm givin' it all to you
Lets make the headlines loud and clear
The best things suddenly happen when you are here
If I lost my way you'd carry me home
Take make all the way to heaven never leave me alone,
And its just like everything matters when you are near
(matters when you are near)."

The song choice was definately by Rachel, everyone could see that. They all were hearing the lyrics, it was her attempt to getting the girls to coexist with each other and be the friends that they had once been. But would it work? Everyone knew the reason they were fighting. So, they didn't know if they would be able to pull off being friends no matter how hard Rachel wanted them to. When the chorus ended, Quinn took a step forwards for her solo.

"And it feels so good
Every bells gonna ring
This love is alive
and its making me sing
I could fly, wanna cry,
want the whole world to know,
We are together, come on baby lets go."

Quinn took her solo with pride and sang strong before turning to look at Rachel on her last line. It was all that Santana could do not to rush over and smack the girl for looking at her girlfriend they way she was. The blonde stepped back into line just as Santana took a step forwards again.

"And words yet to be spoken
Will fall upon the page
Spelling out true devotion
Is all we need to say."

Instead of Santana moving back into line like they all had previously done, both girls took a step forwards to be standing in line with the latina. The girls took on the second part of the chorus, this time a bit differently. Santana and Quinn sung together while Rachel to the background leads.

"Let's made the headlines, loud and true
(Say you love and I'll say I love you too)
I wanna tell the world I'm giving it all to you
(Just remember what simple words can do)
Let's make the headlines, loud and clear
(All that I have I give to you my friend)
The best things suddenly happen when you are here
(Just remember friendship never ends)

And if I lost my way you'd carry me home
Take me all the way to heaven, never leave me alone
(Everything)
And it's just like everything matters when you are near
(Matters when you're near)
(Say you love me and I'll say I love you too)

Let's make the headlines true this time
(Just remember what simple words can do)
There's no hiding from this magical state of mind
(I feel loved with you, I feel loved with you)
And if I lost my way you'd carry me home
(I know, you take me, all the way to heaven)
Take me all the way to heaven, never leave me alone
(Everything)
And it's just like everything matters when you are near
(Matters when you're near)
(Everything matters, it really matters)."

As the song came to a close, Quinn and Rachel slowly switched places. Leaving the blonde in the middle and the diva off to the left hand side of her so that the girl could sing one of the final lines of the song.

"Cause I'm giving it all."

When she had finished her line, both she and Santana traded places just as Rachel and Quinn had done moments ago. Now leaving the Latina in the center of the girls and the blonde off to the right of her. Instead of singing to their respective audience like she normally would have done, Santana turned to look at Rachel while singing out the final phrase of the song.

"Yeah I'm giving it all to you."

Chapter 14! I know most of you want a little more Faberry interaction and trust me you will get it in up coming chapters. I just really needed to give them this type of start so that they could form some sort of friendship with one anothe and allow them to have more of a reason so spend type together as well as interact more while around each other at school. I hope that makes sense.

I hope that my song choice wasn't a horrible one. It was why it took so long to update this chapter. I didn't know which group to chose as well as a song that they could all sing together. And it seemed right to have Rachel to pick such a song because she wants Santana and Quinn to be friends like they had before.

Song used in this chapter was:
"Headlines(friendship never ends)" by Spice Girls
