Ashley
She's in the music room when the shots are fired.
She hears the loud bang and her and Dana look up simultaneously.
"Do you think that was…" Dana's question dies on her lips as screams fill the hallway. They both walk outside of the room and Dana is knocked down by the herd of teenagers running away from the sound.
Before Ashley can help her up, Aiden is there. He picks Dana up and she sees the fear in his eyes.
"Trent is shooting up the school. He killed everyone in the main office including the principal so I had to find out through text. He's on the other side of campus by the art classes so a couple of the teachers are getting kids out." He pauses and chokes up. "He's killing everyone, the classrooms aren't safe. The guy that told me barely made it out." A couple of kids knock into Aiden as he struggles to keep his balance. "I have to get Maddie. He's probably looking for her."
"Why are you telling us this?" Dana looks confused and stares at Ashley and Aiden. Ashley just keeps staring at Aiden because he knows what she has to do.
"The music stands are cheap. We can break them apart and use them as weapons." Aiden nods his head as Dana shakes hers.
"Weapons for what?" Dana searches her face for an answer. "He has a gun Ashley! We need to get off campus while we can."
Aiden looks at Dana and she imagines that it's out of pity because how could Dana not know? How could she hear the words "art classrooms" and "gun" and not know where Ashley is going?
"I have to save Spencer." She says it as if it's her job because it is. No matter what she says, when Spencer needs saving, she saves her.
Even if she's been doing a shitty job at it lately.
Aiden manages something similar to a smile and they both head into the music room. Dana grabs her arm before she can grab a stand.
"If you go after her I won't be here when you come back."
A second doesn't even pass before Ashley responds.
"Good."

They leave both Dana and apparently their sanity behind.
They walk against the walls because Ashley remembers something she saw on TV about the middle of the hall being called the "Hallway of Death." This is due mostly to the echo that footsteps can leave.
And they can't afford to be heard right now.
"Madison's in the girl's bathroom by the photography class," he whispers.
She remembers the photography room being on the opposite end of Spencer's art class so she knows what this means. They both stop and she wishes they knew each other well enough to hug or something because she doesn't know the proper way to wish him luck.
"Good luck." Apparently he doesn't either. He starts to walk away from her when she remembers something important.
"Kyla," she whispers. He knits his eyebrows in confusion. "My sister might be that way. If you see her…"
"I'll protect her."
And she's thankful for that. She's thankful that he responds as if he actually cares about her sister.
"Thank you."
He nods his head in response and takes off down the hall with the swiftness of a ninja. She walks towards Spencer and debates calling her cell before realizing how bad of an idea that might be if Spencer's phone isn't on silent.
So she doesn't risk it.
She keeps walking and forces herself not to throw up at the bodies and trails of blood. She hears footsteps coming her way and thinks "fuck it" before running to Spencer.
She sees the blonde's body leaning against the door of the classroom and her .drops. The footsteps pick up speed and she decides to drag Spencer into the art room.
She refuses to believe she's dead.
She shuts the door quietly and pushes the massive teacher's desk in front of the door. The footsteps stop outside of the door and she silently sits next to Spencer's body and holds her. She feels the faint rise and fall of the blonde's chest and thanks God for it. The doorknob jiggles, but she just keeps holding Spencer.
The footsteps eventually pass and she sighs in relief.
"I knew you'd come for me." Spencer lifts her head and she can see the tears swimming in blue eyes.
"Spencer," she breathes. She grips the blondes face and kisses her with everything she has because if she dies right now, she's going to die loving this girl.
Spencer doesn't fight any other the kisses and soon they are kissing so roughly that it bruises Ashley's lips. They only stop when she hears Spencer hiss and feels the wetness against her leg. She looks down at Spencer and curses herself for not noticing the blood pouring from her side earlier. Spencer follows her gaze and bites her lip before smiling sadly.
"He got me."
