Artemis's POV

They'd been asleep for nearly 3 hours no change, M'gann didn't know when they would wake up or if they'd ever wake up. Kaldur had gone away on some emergency with a dew other league members leaving my alone to my thoughts as I watched the comatose teens.

The zeta announces Wally's arrival I barely look up I'm too busy staring at the four of them they look so peaceful, it used to scare me if Blair and her friends were to quiet, because it meant she was up to mischief. Now it scares me because she may never wake up again and get into mischief.

"What the hell is going on?" Wally asks seeing my face and the four lying hospital beds.

"We don't know." I say blankly

"We don't know why four teenagers are now comatose in the med bay?"

"Technically Blair's the only teenager." I blankly, I was shutting down, it's always been my coping mechanism shut down and run away.

"Arty talk to me."

"What's there to talk about? Would you like to talk about how someone is doing this to our daughter? The fact I don't know who it is? The fact that you and I have been apart so long I don't even know where we stand are we dating are we not? Are we both going to pretend that we're parents to that girl; who just so you know pretty much changed her own diapers? Wally, I love you and I know you love me, but within five minutes of being back in this life she's had to put up with so much stuff, she's met cousins, and aunts and uncles, and grandparents. I just feel like it's all spiralling and everything is spinning out of control it's like our final day all over again. I don't like it, and if I'm honest, I'm scared. For her, for us, and everyone we know and love."

"Artemis." He says, "Artemis, look at me. Baby, look at me, I love you. And a stubborn independent teenager, who doesn't really like me isn't going to change that. From what I've seen you did the most amazing job a raising her, she's probably the strongest kid I've ever met. Think about it she's part of an elite team of soldier spies, she's on a spaceship full of people she's never met before and yet she treats it like its home. She's made new friends with her cousins and I'm pretty sure she could be best friends with my dad. She's doing fine. Apart for the Y'know the coma thing, but other than that she's doing great. Okay?" He says kissing the top of my forehead.

"Okay." I say as he pulls me into his arms and just holds me, god I'd missed him, he'd back for nearly 3 weeks and I still wasn't quite used to it.

"Marry me?" he whispers in my ear.

"What?" I say pulling away and turning to look at him.

"Marry me. I was going to ask you before I got stuck in another dimension. I know it's a bad time, but I've spent 17 years wanting to ask you and I'm done waiting for the perfect moment, perfects never been our thing, anyway. I want you to be my wife Artemis, I do have a ring it's at home in my bedside table."

I stand there shocked, I nod kind of dumbly not quite sure what I'm meant to do. He grins and kisses my head, "good."

All of a sudden the four on the beds woke up lunging up and gasping me air they looked at each other with shocked expressions.

Blair's POV

I looked at my team mates the searing pain had gone, replaced by something stranger.

'Is everyone okay?'

Kent's voice ploughs through our minds.

We look at each other shocked, our mental link was back online.

'How?' I ask.

'Does this mean-'

'Did anyone else hear a scream before we passed out?' Tate asks

'Yeah I think so but it could've been one of ours.' I point out

'Do you think?' Kate asks leaving her question open ended, we all knew what she meant

'It's impossible. No magic is that powerful right, Kent?'

We look at Kent waiting for his response, he's gone as white as a sheet.

"I'm unsure, I could consult with some other magic users. This has to be some kind of sick prank." He says out loud, he's refusing to use the link. Poor guy, I know how I'd feel if Nik had died two years ago only to discover that he may not be dead.

'Kent, you have to brace yourself for the possibility it won't be.' I Say looking at him. He nods.

'it's probably just us picking up one of the Martians frequencies, right?' Tate asks.

'No. they would've needed to be inside all of your minds to do this, plus they're both on missions. And they have limits, the only person who never seemed to have a limit was Amara.' I say, using my knowledge of the justice league, neither Jo'nn nor M'gann would play a prank this cruel. Which only meant one thing Amara was alive. The only question was how?

OHHHH CLIFFHANGER! Sorry Ducks felt the need to do that, sorry this was late My brother was home from uni and I haven't seen him since Christmas, I felt brother sister bonding time was needed.
