Chapter Nineteen

Loki's P. o. V:

After all off the bruises from the paintball fight are healed by magic, the Avengers decide to watch a movie to wind down from the excitement of earlier. Once everyone is ready, Tony chooses a movie, and we begin watching it. The chosen movie ends up being the 1984 version of The Karate Kid. Everyone gets comfortable in their spots, and the movie begins.

We are about a halfway through the movie when I feel a tugging in my gut. A moment of confusion passes through me, before I realize what it means. With no explantation, I dart out of the room and go up to my room. Once there, I begin packing up all of my belongings, using magic to help speed the process up. I know that I only have a limited time before Odin arrives. As I am erasing all traces of myself from the room, Tony enters. "What the heck? Why did you just leave the room? Is everything okay? Why are you packing up?" Tony fires question after question at me, not allowing me any time to answer.

"I set up several spells in my cell on Asgard that would alert me as to when Odin discovered that I was missing. I felt that one of my spells was activated, and now, I need to leave. Odin will be here soon. I do not wish to have you take the downfall for being kind to me, so I am attempting to remove any trace of myself from the Tower. I'm sorry that this is so sudden. I should have started packing up sooner. I knew that it would only be a matter of time before he found me here." Tony stares at me in shock.

"You mean, you weren't supposed to be here at all? How come Thor never said anything?" I sigh.

"I may have told him that Odin had released me," I admit. "Thor is very trusting, and he's always believed my lies." I can feel the pain and guilt that have built up over the years surfacing again. I quickly push it back down, hurrying to finish my packing. After I am sure that I have everything packed away, I use my magic to return the room back to the state it was in before I inhabited it. Tony looks around the room in appreciation.

"Handy!" I nod, before gathering my belongings and heading back downstairs. Everyone is still watching the movie, engrossed in the tournament scene. I clear my throat, drawing attention to myself. Everyone rips their attention away from the movie, albeit reluctantly.

"Can you make it quick? This is the best part!" Clint grumbles.

"I will make this brief, as I do not have much time. The Allfather has discovered that I am missing from my cell on Asgard, and now, I must say my goodbyes." I turn to Natasha. "I am truly sorry for saying everything I did while I was trapped in the cage. I am glad that I have gotten to know you better. I wish you the best of luck. Bruce, I'm glad that I found out that there's more to you than a green rage monster."

I turn to Steve, a smirk on my face. "So long, Captain Virginity. It was fun while it lasted." I wink at him, causing him to blush a bright red. "Clint, it was a pleasure getting to know my former minion better." I avoid Thor's eyes, opting to talk to Tony first.

"Tony, I've enjoyed the mischief that we caused, and I hope that you will continue in my absence." Finally, I turn to Thor. "I'll miss you brother. I'm sorry for lying to you. Give the Allfather my regards," I say, forcing a smile. I can smell ozone in the air, so I gather my bags up. "This is where I say goodbye."

Tony's P. o. V:

Loki teleports away just as Odin appears in the room. "Where is Loki?!" Odin demands, his single eye sparking dangerously.

"We have not seen Loki since his attack on New York," I quickly lie, determined to give Loki some time. "Search the Tower, if you wish, but Loki has not been here." Odin peers at me, as if trying to detect a lie. I stare back steadily, daring him to question me. At last, after what seems like an eternity, Odin backs away, and begins searching the Tower. I trail behind him, guiding him to the different rooms in the Tower. When we get to the room that had once been Loki's, I hold my breath, waiting to see if Odin will be able to tell that Loki was in the room not five minutes earlier.

Fortunately, after about five minutes of searching, Odin leaves the room, looking disgusted at not having found anything. "I know that Loki was here, but I cannot find him!" Odin roars in anger. "I must find him. He can not be allowed to directly disobey me like this!" I stay silent, chuckling internally at how long Loki had managed to avoid being found.

Odin continues searching the Tower, but after three hours, even he has to admit that there's nowhere that Loki could be hiding. After apologizing for intruding, he leaves. Everyone lets out a collective sigh of relief, thankful that Loki had managed to escape detection. In his time in the Tower, he showed us that he truly wasn't the person that tried to take over New York. Heck, he even got us to like him! It's going to be strange not seeing him around the Tower, plotting different pranks to pull.

Not in the mood to finish the rest of the movie, I head upstairs to my room and flop down on my bed. A flash of green on my pillow catches my attention. There is a Post-It note placed carefully onto the fabric. There are only three words on the page, written in Loki's elegant handwriting.

"This isn't over."

So, as you can see, I left it open in case I wanted to continue it. Hope this was a decent last chapter! I'll start posting for my Omegaverse story soon. Anyways, final reviews are appreciated! :)
