So, it took me pretty much since I posted the last chapter to write maybe 500 words, and a few hours to write the rest of the 2100 words. It didn't exactly go the way I had planned, but I still like it.

Also, only six more episodes after this one, so I need opinions. Do you want a season three? I do have a plan for it, but I don't want to write it if no one is going to read.

Episode 20: Black Velvet (1)

"You tried to kill Trend!" Opaque yelled, bursting into Gorgo's lair in a fury. The ire seething off him was actually visible in his dark energy.

Gorgo, sitting in his throne, spinning a knife between a few fingers, looked up at the boy. "Not to mention I stole your sister's powers," the gypsy warlock said calmly.

"Ebony's fine, just mad," Opaque snapped. He pointed a finger at Gorgo. "You said we could have anything we wanted if we helped you, and we have."

"And you're telling me this… because?" Gorgo asked.

"You tried to kill Trend," Opaque said. "It's kind of hard to have her if she's dead!"

Gorgo chuckled. "How is it that the weakest of them is causing me so much trouble?" he mused to himself. He stood. "You want her? Then help me to take Alfea."

Opaque frowned staring at Gorgo. At that moment, he wanted anything but to help Gorgo. After a moment, Opaque turned his head down and to the side and Gorgo smiled, knowing he had won that argument with just a few words.

"Really, Cyclone, I'm fine," Trend said as he picked up her books after she tried to reach for them. His reaction to Trend's near death experience had caused him to instead follow her around like a puppy dog, doing anything he could for her.

"But you can carry my books," Cicada said, dropping her books into his hands before following Trend. They had class in a few minutes and needed to get to their classroom.

Emerald chuckled as they walked into Alfea toward their classroom. Once they got to their class, Griselda stopped Cyclone. Cicada and Trend took their books back. "Thanks a bunch," Trend said with a smile, and Cyclone simply smiled at her.

"I really do suggest that you return to your own school before you fail," Griselda said to him.

Cyclone watched as Trend took a seat. "It's worth it," he said. "Plus, I have to protect her."

"You want to protect her?" Griselda said. "Get to your school and learn how to defeat Gorgo. That's how you can best protect her."

He looked back at Griselda at the name Gorgo, briefly remembering that he actually worked for Gorgo.

"Okay, you two still need your Charmix," Angel said to Avery and Emerald.

"At least they both have physical means by which to protect themselves," Cicada said with a smile.

"With Gorgo's new strength, that doesn't mean much," Kaida said. "He could still crush us if we're not careful." She had her nose in a book, as usual. This one was for class, however, so she wasn't giving it full attention.

"So how do we stay careful?" Trend asked. There was a knock on the door. She sighed, but no one moved to get it. Her phone beeped a moment later. "Cyclone says that we shouldn't fight close distance," Trend relayed the text she had just gotten.

"Okay, I know he's obsessed with you, but he has got to go," Emerald said, standing up.

"Don't let me stop you," Trend said. It was evident that she was annoyed constantly being followed. After all, it made talking to Trine, even on the phone, difficult and even awkward.

Emerald opened the door and forced Cyclone to turn around. Within moments, she was leading him outside the school, dragging him by the ear. She then steered him toward the gates with a rather hard push, causing him to fall to the ground. "Next time you want to come here, you had better call Trend and get permission first," she said.

Emerald turned to head back inside, but suddenly, the air grew colder. She turned around, ready to yell at Cyclone, but he was staring up, a small smile coming to his face.

"I don't think that will be a problem," Gorgo said, landing with Chill and Opaque flanking him. Cyclone stood and took his place as well. "Chill…"

"My pleasure," Chill said, and blasted Emerald. The fairy was barely able to get an emerald shield up before she was encased in ice, only the small space between her face and shield were left free, allowing her to breathe, but not much time to do so as there was no air circulation.

Trend shivered up in the Vixen's room. "It just got super cold here," she said, and with a snap of her fingers, a pink sweater wrapped itself around her quivering shoulders.

"But that doesn't make sense," Kaida said. "We're indoors. None of the windows are open."

"Maybe the heaters broke," Angel said. "But still, it shouldn't be this cold."

"Hey, one of those sweaters over here," Cicada called to Trend, and Trend snapped her fingers again, a grey sweater appearing on Cicada.

"Where is Emerald?" Avery asked, realizing that it had been a little too long since the green fairy had taken Cyclone out.

"Maybe we should go look for her," Angel said. The others nodded and they walked out the door. They hadn't gone too far before the halls began to grow dark.

"What's happening?" Cicada asked, looking around.

"Don't ask me," Trend said, drawing herself in as if to protect herself or to escape the darkness. "But I really don't like this."

"I don't either," Avery said, leaning against the wall. "I feel exhausted."

"I know what you mean," Angel said, placing a hand on the wall for support.

"Something's wrong," Kaida said. She took a few steps so she was next to Cicada, but then fell to her knees. "This darkness is definitely not natural."

"Why are they getting tired?" Trend asked, looking at Cicada.

"Because of the darkness," Cicada said. "I'm naturally resistant to dark spells because of where I'm from and my magical source. But why aren't you exhausted is the better question. Your resistance to dark spells is zilch."

"Maybe I gained some when I was sick from the dark spell Gorgo cast on me," Trend said.

"Girls," Angel said, trying to get their attention. However, she looked worn out.

"We should get Griselda," Trend said.

Cicada, however, shook her head as her antennae popped out. "They're inside, they're fine. But Emerald is outside."

"And?" Trend asked.

"So is Gorgo," Cicada said. "And he brought friends." She took off down the hall. "She'll need out help."

Trend's eyes widened. She snapped her fingers and thick warm sweaters wrapped around her friends. "Wish I could stay, but you understand."

"Go," Avery said, trying to push herself to her feet, but not even getting off her knees. She wasn't going anywhere soon.

As Trend ran down the hall, she sent a text to Marvel and Trine, hoping that they could come help.

"Stupid bugs," Chill growled, throwing a frost at all the attacking insects. Cicada and Trend hadn't even gotten outside and already the Insectus Fairy was fighting a battle.

The two girls burst outside at the same time, spotting Gorgo in the air. They didn't allow themselves time to prepare, instead they both yelled, "Going Vixen, and transformed."

"So, you two think you can take me alone," Gorgo asked. He looked at the Bux boys. "You two against the four of us?"

"Trend, do the smart thing and surrender," Opaque said, a smirk on his face. He then cocked his head. "How are you resisting the dark magic?"

"Insectus fairy," Cicada said. "Dark magic isn't the best weapon against me."

"Not you, bug girl," Opaque said.

"Oh, yeah, I'm not exactly sure on that," Trend said. "I mean, I do—" she was cut off when Chill shot a blast of ice at her. Trend tumbled to the ground.

"You can question her once she's our prisoner," Chill said, his eyes narrowed at Opaque. "Cyclone, take the bug girl."

"Oh, I'd like to see you try," Cicada said, a smile spreading on her face. Now that she was in her Winx form, her connection with the insects was much greater. The noise of crickets and cicadas became nearly deafening. What light there was from the night sky began to darken as insects of all kinds began to fly in on Cyclone.

"I really am sorry about this, Trend," Opaque said, and launched himself at her, an orb of darkness in his hand. Trend threw up her luminescent shield, but the darkness broke the shield easily and threw her back.

Gorgo nodded at Chill. "Go on, you know what to do."

Chill nodded and began to make his way inside, that was until the ice around Emerald began to crack, and then shattered. Chill stopped in his tracks, amazed that anyone had broken his version of an ice coffin. Even more impressed, Emerald was in her Winx form.

"I am going to break you," Emerald said, her eyes on fire.

Chill chuckled. "I'd like to see you try," he said, a sword of ice forming in his hand. He jumped at Emerald, and his sword clashed loudly against an emerald shield. Emerald threw him back and formed her own sword, shorter than his, but she could use it with one hand while his required both of his hands.

"Opaque, stop," Trend said, dodging a blast from him. Apparently, her resistance to dark magic wasn't as strong when it was directed solely at her and she was beginning to feel the effects. She shot a blast of color at him, but he easily deflected it.

"I'm doing this for you, Trend," he said, bending down to come face to face with her. "Once Gorgo controls the world, I can protect you."

"Don't touch her," Marvel's voice shouted, and the Popularis prince rammed into Opaque's side, knocking him away from Trend.

"About time you guys showed up," Cicada said. She was grounded from Cyclone's winds, which also happened to be throwing all her insect friends around. "What took you?"

"Where are Angel and the others?" Brandon asked. He looked up, but he couldn't do much to help from where he was.

"They're inside," Trend said. "The darkness wiped them of all their energy."

The guys all stared at Trend. "Then why are you—"

"I don't know!" Trend snapped. It was, after all, the third time in less than ten minutes that had been questioned.

"Better question," Charm said, pulling out his sword. "Where's Gorgo?"

"Huh?" all three girls turned to where Gorgo had been to see he was no longer there.

And then Emerald yelled, as Chill's ice sword sliced through her arm, causing her to drop her sword. Charm charged at him, blocking his next attack with his phantoblade. "You okay, Emerald?" he asked, keeping his attention on Chill.

"I'll heal," Emerald said. She looked at the building. "We have to find Gorgo," she said.

"On it," Trine and Brandon said and ran in.

"You two go as well," Charm said to Trend and Emerald. "We'll take care of these goons."

"Who you calling a goon?" Cyclone yelled, losing his concentration on his winds.

"That'd be you," Cicada said. "Insect Shadow!"

Cyclone was hit and knocked back, nearly falling from where he floated, but managed to maintain his position. However, Cicada flew up to meet him. "So you've been working for Gorgo the whole time, have you? Digging up information on us to feed to him."

"So what if we have been?" Cyclone questioned. He began a small whirlwind and sent it at her to try to hurt her, but she resisted getting pulled in. "Once he has enough power, I'll be able to get whatever I want."

"You really think that?" Cicada asked. "But all the power in the world won't win you Trend's heart. You'll never have her affections, and something tells me that right now, that's all you care about."

Cyclone stopped, his eyes widening, his attack dying down. Then, however, he steeled himself. "When I have the power, I won't need her heart. I'll have her anyway."

"Between you and Opaque?" Cicada asked. "You can't split her."

Cyclone frowned and looked down at the battle between Marvel and Opaque. To him, he personally didn't care who won because if Marvel got hurt, Trend would never forgive his cousin; but if Opaque happened to lose, it would prove that Cyclone was the better of the two.

"Fire Ant Pincer!" Cicada yelled, and this time, she really did blast Cyclone out of the sky.

"Hello, ladies," Gorgo said, chuckling as he found Kaida, Avery, and Angel in the hall, each of them looking sick and exhausted, wrapped up in Trend's thick sweaters.

"Gorgo," Avery growled, but she couldn't manage to pick herself up to get away from him.

Gorgo smiled, using his powers to lift Avery from the ground. I think I'll just take you with me.

"Put her down!" Angel snapped. "Charmix!" She was in her wind Charmix mode in a moment, but already, she looked beaten down. "Fire of the… dragon…"

A small stream of fire shot at him, but he literally blew it out. He then turned to Kaida. "Care to try me?"

"You bet I do!" Trine yelled, knocking Gorgo against a wall. Gorgo, however, didn't feel like playing games. He knocked Trine right back, and he collided with Brandon and Emerald, also running down the hall to try to help the girls.

"Put her down!" Trend yelled, throwing blasts of sparkles and colors at Gorgo. He lifted his arm to protect himself, but he didn't seem to be getting hurt.

"You heard her," Violet said, appearing on the other side of Gorgo. A dark aura was coming off her. "Put. Avery. Down."

Gorgo shot a blast of random witch magic at Trend, knocking her from the air. Trine caught her, but barely. Gorgo just chuckled. "I wasn't aware that witches often came to fairy rescues."

"I'm not your normal witch," Violet said. With a yell, she transformed into her Winx. She then flew at Gorgo. Out of natural reaction, he shot at her with witch powers, but the dark spells bounced off her Violet literally tackled him to the ground.

He knew that one of his best acquired powers was the razor leaf attack he had gotten from a Beta fairy, but as Violet also had nature as her powers, those turned into soft golden leaves hitting her skin.

"Black Rose!" Violet yelled, and black petals shot at Gorgo, quickly covering his skin. He was so shocked that he was losing so quickly to a fairy that he didn't even realize that she had touched her power source until he was nearly half covered. He yelled, realizing the petals were burning his skin. With a generic blast of magic off his whole body, he cleared the petals, but he wasn't about to fight Violet, Trend, Emerald, Trine, and Brandon all at once. By this time, he knew that the teachers had to be recovering. He disappeared into his shadows, the darkness leaving with him. As he left, he swept Chill, Opaqe, and Cyclone away as well.

With darkness gone and the temperature quickly returning to normal, the exhausted girls recovered. They all ran out to see Cicada, Marvel, and Charm outside.

"They're gone," Cicada said. "We couldn't stop them."

"It's okay," Angel said. "We'll get them next time."

"Are you so sure about that?" Trine asked. "Look how easily he neutralized you."

"Well, now I guess that you have to bring me along to fight him," Violet said.

"He'll figure out how to fight you too, you know," Avery said.

"But, until then, you need me," Violet said.

Trine shook his head. "You need a little more training," he said. "You need to know everything about the powers of darkness."

"I'm learning," Violet said. "But it's a self-study, if you hadn't noticed."

"Good thing Trine knows someone who's an expert, and suddenly doesn't have magic classes," Charm said. "Because next time we do face Gorgo, we might need to depend on your powers to neutralize his darkness."

Next time on Vixen:

Trend is having a fashion show, and she brings the girls of Vixen with her to Popularis. However, when she announces who the models will be, Emerald is not happy. Meanwhile, Violet begins to train to specifically use her dark magic, so she'll be able to use it against Gorgo.
